While  MAVI  is widely-praised for his mindful rhymes and evocative instrumentals, the Charlotte-born wordsmith is also a multi-faceted renaissance man whose expertise extends far beyond the mic. An artist as thought-provoking as he is creative,  MAVI  pursued a degree in biology from Howard University and is an avid political theorist and community-oriented activist who holds steadfast beliefs about the ever-changing social landscape around him. In 2019, he released his critically-acclaimed debut album  Let The Sun Talk . a quilt of generational tales, tightly woven flows, and awe-inspiring rhymes.  Following the success of  Let The Sun Talk , he returned with the stellar 5-song EP,  End of The Earth , which featured fan-favorites like  “TIME TRAVEL”  and  “THOUSAND MILES” , alongside a  Lone Wolf- directed visual, before hitting the road on tour in the tail-end of 2021, accompanying  Jack Harlow  on his headlining  Cremé De La Cremé tour  alongside Detroit bar spitter  Babyface Ray . 2022 saw him return with his critically-acclaimed sophomore album  Laughing so Hard, it Hurts , which was lauded by the likes of  Pitchfork ,  NPR , and  The New York Times , who hailed it as one of the  Best Albums of 2022 . Only adding to his unique stature,  MAVI  is also a fully independent and financially self-sufficient artist, bringing a certain level of incomparable urgency to his work. Now, after years of reflecting, contemplating, and of course, rapping–– MAVI  is ready to deliver his highly-anticipated third LP  Shadow Box  — out August 9th.

Mavi Announces 2023 Tour

Roughly two months since releasing his second album, Mavi has announced new tour dates. The Charlotte, North Carolina, native is hitting the road as part of his Laughing So Hard It Hurts World Tour, which kicks off Lawrence, Kansas, this January and brings the rapper across North America and Europe through May 2023. Find the full list of dates below.

Mavi’s latest album, Laughing So Hard It Hurts , dropped in October. It was announced with the single “ Baking Soda ” and also included a song called “ Doves .”

Mavi Announces Album and Tour, Shares Video for New Song “Drunk Prayer”: Watch

Mavi is coming back with a new album. The Charlotte, North Carolina, rapper will follow last year’s Laughing So Hard, It Hurts with Shadowbox on August 9. Featured on the new album is “ Drunk Prayer .” Watch the video for the song below.

Mavi is supporting Shadowbox with a tour that begins in September in North Carolina. Joining the rapper at various stops on his Shadowbox Tour are Messiah!, Malaya, Pink Siifu, Ovrkast., Chenayder, Vayda, Sideshow, Niontay, Igwe Aka, and Ahmir. See the tour dates below.

In a press statement on Shadowbox , Mavi stated:

I was really sad about the last album. I didn’t really know how to get back into making stuff into the way I like. I felt really hopeless about it, started getting really drunk, dealt with love and heartbreak, having to be there for my family. I had to come back and really learn how to make art all over again. My path back was centered around visual art, fashion, interior design, and design as an artistic framework and as an organizational force in society. A lot of the backbone of the album came from my time with this design book, The Black Experience in Design . The idea I gained from that is design is power. The ability to determine the order of things, the way things are supposed to be… that’s power. The orderliness in the lives of the devoutly religious became an attractive subtext during the creation of this album.

MAVI Announces ‘Laughing So Hard It Hurts’ World Tour

MAVI has announced he’ll be going on his first-ever headlining world tour to promote his latest album, Laughing So Hard, It Hurts .

The North Carolina-bred rapper shared the news on Thursday (December 15), with the worldwide trek set to kick off on January 17 in Lawrence, Kansas, before taking in shows in Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit and more. He’ll then head overseas for shows in Paris, London, Berlin and Manchester.

MAVI will then return stateside to visit Seattle, Los Angeles, Denver, Dallas, Atlanta and several other cities before closing out the tour in New York City on May 26. Pre-sale tickets are available now here , while general passes will go live on Friday (December 16) at 12:00 pm et.

“Blessed beyond words to announce i will be embarking on my first-ever headline tour, Laughing So Hard, It Hurts ,” MAVI said of the tour on Instagram. “Im so grateful for all the love you have shown me through my journey and im so eager to meet you all and see the world reflected in your eyes. thank you to everyone who has ever loved me. see you soon.”

MAVI is having a huge year so far, thanks to his sophomore album Laughing So Hard It Hurts . Released in October, the album comes with 16 tracks and only one feature from Amindi. Critics also lauded the album upon release, placing it on several best albums of 2022 lists, including The New York Times , NPR , Vulture and more.

MAVI’s breakthrough also landed him connections with The Alchemist and an opening spot on tour with Jack Harlow . He also racked up millions of streams independently, which have culminated in his massive fan base of four million-plus Spotify monthly listeners. However, one of MAVI’s biggest achievements comes from his 2022 HipHopDX Awards nomination .

Kate Nash announces 2024-2025 UK and European tour dates

Tickets go on general sale later this week

Kate Nash has announced plans for a UK and European tour. Find all the details below.

The star, who recently released her first studio album in six years ‘9 Sad Symphonies’ , is set to hit the road for a series of shows kicking off at Glasgow’s Oran Mor on November 21, with further shows in Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, London and Brighton.

The UK run will include two shows at the capital’s KOKO venue on November 28 and the O2 Forum Kentish Town on April 9, 2025. You can purchase tickets here from 10am BST on Wednesday (June 26).

A pre-sale is also running from today (June 24) until Wednesday which you can purchase tickets for here .

From there she will head to the Netherlands on December 5, 2024 before wrapping up her dates at the Dublin Academy on December 18.

Nash’s recent album has been described as her beginning “a new and unprecedented artistic journey” and draws on “inspiration from old Hollywood glamour, vintage musicals, and the relentless pursuit of beauty in a chaotic world.”

Her last studio album, ‘Yesterday Was Forever’ , was released back in 2018 via Grrrl Gang.

Nash has also worked as an actor in recent years, starring in the  Netflix  series  GLOW as Rhonda ‘Britannica’ Richardson, and appeared in various other titles.

Anastacia announces Scottish date as part of 25th anniversary tour

Pop icon Anastacia has announced a Scottish date as part of a huge UK tour.

The I’m Outta Love hitmaker will take to the stage at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall as well as venues in Portsmouth, Belfast and Swansea in 2025.

Speaking about the tour, Anastacia said she was “beyond excited” to be on the road again.

“I didn’t get to do a tour for my first album which makes this all the more special.

“I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since Not That Kind, we will be sure to celebrate in true Anastacia style. It’ll be one big anniversary party. I can’t wait to see you all there,” she said.

Tickets for the shows are set to go on general sale Friday, July 5, at 10am via the Live Nation website.

00s icon with ‘pop’s biggest voice’ announces UK tour 25 years after debut hit

It was impossible to exist in the year 2000 without hearing Anastacia belting out her epic single I’m Outta Love, and fans are about to be able to hear it all over again as she’s announced an anniversary tour.

The US singer-songwriter, 55, will embark on a massive European 25 th anniversary tour of her debut album Not That Kind next year, with 12 dates in the UK.

The album, which featured absolute banger I’m Outta Love as well as title track Not That Kind and hit singles Cowboys & Kisses and Made For Lovin’ You, was released in June 2000 to critical acclaim, reaching number two in the UK charts.

Anastacia, who has one of the most recognisable vocals in pop , was buzzing as she confirmed the tour on Monday.

‘I am beyond excited to be on the road again in Europe and blessed to get to come and perform in so many gorgeous places to my very special family,’ she said.

‘I didn’t get to do a tour for my first album which makes this all the more special. I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since Not That Kind, we will be sure to celebrate in true Anastacia style. It’ll be one big anniversary party. I can’t wait to see you all there!’

The singer, real name Anastacia Lyn Newkirk, will take her tour across Europe, starting in Spain and hitting Italy, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Czechia, Poland, Germany, The Netherlands, France, Belgium and Ireland.

She will then hit up 12 venues in the UK for the final leg of the tour from mid-April, including in Swansea, Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester and London.

After Not That Kind, Anastacia – who appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2016 – did it again with the release of her second album Freak Of Nature, which features modern classics Left Outside Alone , Paid My Dues and One Day In Your Life.

With more than a handful of top 10 hit singles and highly-charting albums across the UK and Europe, and with her infectious pop megahits filling the airwaves for much of the 2000s, Anastacia was certainly one of the biggest stars of that moment in time.

She was unmissable thanks to her powerhouse vocals and recognisable aesthetic, complete with dark-tinted glasses and usually several layers of cowgirl-style leather.

However, she struggled to gain the same kind of popularity in her native United States, and she has previously addressed the possibility of being ‘blacklisted’ from US radio.

Asked about being more successful this side of the pond, she told Official Charts in 2016: ‘I don’t know the exact reason but I can give you an idea of what may have happened. My first record was scheduled to be delivered in America, radio and everything. I was with Sony Worldwide but as I was an American signed artist, so they were starting with America.

‘Either something happened with radio promotions, somebody made somebody mad; something happened with my release. I don’t know anything about it and I can’t understand it.

‘Simultaneously my name was a part of it so I think I was blacklisted from radio.’

Anastacia, who was diagnosed with breast cancer twice and also has Crohn’s disease, recently opened up about another health scare.

The star thought she had a brain tumour after suffering so badly from hormonal imbalance due to going through the menopause.

‘I didn’t know my exhaustion; I didn’t know my brain fog. I didn’t know all the things – I just thought I was tired,’ she told Kate Thornton on the White Wine Question Time podcast.

‘I was diagnosing myself, but had no idea any of this was hormone-related.’

How to watch stages 1, 2 and 3 of the 2024 Tour de France

The Tour de France kicks off on Sunday, June 29 in Florence, Italy with a ridiculously challenging start to the 2024 edition.

The race revisits the site of the 2013 World Championships on stage 1, heading east to the coastal town of Rimini, tackling seven classified climbs on the demanding 206-kilometre route.

Stage 2 starts just up the Adriatic coast in Cesena and heads northwest to Bologna. While it's less mountainous, there are six classified climbs and a time bonus sprint on the Côte de San Luca to spice up the finale.

The race transfers further west on Monday to Piacenza for a much flatter 230.8km stage 3 with an expected sprint finish in Turin, the race reaching French soil on stage 4 with the first high mountain stage and the highest point of the Tour de France on the Col du Galibier.

Everyone expects Giro d'Italia winner Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) to pour pressure on Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease A Bike), who has questionable form after recovering from a serious crash in April, Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-QuickStep), who was ill after the Critérium du Dauphiné, and his biggest rival, Primož Roglič (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe).

Sir Ian McKellen to Miss U.K. Theatrical Tour After Onstage Fall

Sir Ian McKellen has dropped out of the U.K. tour of Player Kings after suffering a fall during a performance in London last month.

In a statement, McKellen said he was making good progress in his recovery but acknowledged that his doctors had said it’d be best if he refrained from working for the time being. “Two weeks after my accident on stage, my injuries improve day by day,” McKellen said. “It’s with the greatest reluctance that I have accepted the medical advice to protect my full recovery by not working in the meantime.”

McKellen reportedly fell during a fight scene in Player Kings , a show that merges Shakespeare’s Henry IV , Parts One and Two (McKellen was playing John Falstaff). According to those at the venue, the house lights turned on and people could hear him cry for help. The rest of the show was called off and the following night’s production was canceled.

In his statement, McKellen said: “I had been so looking forward to bringing Player Kings to theatre-goers in Bristol, Birmingham, Norwich and Newcastle.
