🤷🏼‍♀️🤡 fun but aggravating!

The game is fun and all but when it comes to rolling and say that you get a six right? Then you roll again, and some how you manage to roll again? But then you get another number that’s not a six but some how they manage to roll again! 😂🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️! or the fact that there is BOOSTERS IN THIS GAME. but there isn’t boosters in the real game you can play offline. why add boosters? So that people can get mad when they use one and your pawn back to the beginning and you can’t “ get a six again to roll out of jail” like come on! I’d rather play monopoly then this when it comes to that type of stuff. Also I would like to add that chat is a stupid thing to have, I don’t wanna have a conversation with someone while I am playing I would rather just play the game. So 2 things you can remove, BOOSTERS, and CHAT! the rest I don’t care about! 😂😂.

Players can be annoying and there is almost nothing you can do about it

I recently just played a game with a type of player I have never experienced before. There is a mute option so you can silence your opponents if you want/need to but you can’t report. I was playing two vs two and my partner got mad at me for my opponent getting MY piece, (it wasn’t a bad move the opponent just happened to have been lucky and rolled the dice lucky twice) and my opponent started to throw the game. I had one piece in the goal and two pieces on the board. He started to move pieces so that they could be placed where my opponent’s would take me intentionally while taunting me in the chat. The worst part is the game was completely winnable at this point, in fact, we came close at the end. I went to his profile to report him and found no way to do so, not even a link to his account to copy or anything. This guy could just strike again if he so chooses. He did this for absolutely no reason and the fact I couldn’t do anything about it other than lose my coins and the cash I used for lucky rolls is beyond me. This game needs a report button, not just mute or block. I wish I took a screen recording of this but I was trying to find a way to report him before the game ended, now he’s free to do it again to someone else.

Yes folks I said it... I would rather watch the Wendy Williams show than play this game, and that is bad..... I cannot begin to explain how many times I have nearly broken this iPhone 11 due to this sorry excuse of a game. This game will you make hate strangers more than Carl did in Up. This game will make you hate your friends like Dom was forced to do in fast and the furious series... this game will make you hate your family members ( that you play with) enough to actually want to stay at work.. or stay outside... or simply away from them.... let me put this Simple for 1 specific reason only why this is nearly the worst game to ever exist. This game gives you the ability to BUY roles.. given you have virtual cash. You can only buy 5 roles per game.. however........ these can be a major game changer when you buy and get the number you need to send your for now enemies demonic little pawn sailing back to its starting point.... the higher value you play... the more more and people buy to win... I’m telling ya.... this game will dig into your skin.. lay a zillion little “ I’m gonna make you mad eggs” let them hatch and send your anger into places it didn’t go.... honestly... your friendships... your relationships... and your family bonds WILL BE BRUTALLY TESTED... save yourself as and just go play monopoly!

Ludo's annual HalLUDOween celebration returns for three nights of rock and revelry

A devoted fandom keeps Ludo coming back for more, during the spooky season and beyond.

Andrew Volpe walks into Sawhorse Studios on a Monday afternoon, sipping a neon-green soft drink from Taco Bell. Clad in a zip-up hoodie, bootcut jeans, and a faded baseball cap, he looks like your typical Midwestern, aging millennial dad. The other members of Ludo look the same—you wouldn’t clock them for a band that’s sold out The Pageant nine times and counting. 

“I give few enough f—s in general about how I’m perceived,” Volpe says. “I do the opposite of image construction. I just don’t care if I aesthetically exist.” 

Ludo has no time for rockstar pretensions, especially in its current phase. Since regrouping in 2018 after a nearly seven-year hiatus, the band has become more of a casual creative outlet than a full-time job. Now that most of them have children, partners, and other sources of income, there’s no longer a need to relentlessly tour and record like they did 20 years ago.  

That’s not to suggest they’ve gotten lazy. At Sawhorse Studios, they spend three whole days working on new songs, and a lot of this time is spent perfecting small details. Volpe spends over an hour on one guitar riff with studio owner Jason McEntire, tweaking the frequency, adjusting the mix, and varying the strumming pattern over and over until it sounds just right. 

“My wife, when I got home, she asked me, ‘what did you do today?,’” McEntire says. “I was like, ‘We worked on a song.’ She’s like ‘one song? You were gone all day!’” 

Ludo is as tight, self-assured, and focused as before. The only difference is that now, they can enjoy the creative process more and pause to breathe whenever they get the chance. For card-carrying grown-ups with full-time jobs and families, having fun is more valuable than ever. 

“Part of it now is ‘are we enjoying ourselves?,’” keyboardist Tim Convy says. “We probably would have been driving ourselves crazy enough to get [the songs] done before, whereas this was a little bit more casual. It’s a positive thing.” 

Recording new songs isn’t even the most exciting part for the band—it’s debuting them live at HalLUDOween , the band’s annual Halloween show held at The Pageant. With three nights of multiple supporting acts and activities (last year included trivia, food trucks, and tarot card readings), HalLUDOween is something like a cross between a fan convention, a festival, and a concert. It’s meant to celebrate Ludo’s listenership as much as the band itself.

Ludo fans have a rare sort of loyalty to the group, bordering on obsession. They come from all over the country to fill The Pageant each HalLUDOween weekend, sometimes purchasing “super VIP” tickets to spend time with the band one-on-one and perform with them during soundcheck. Numerous couples have gotten engaged at the shows, and the band performed more than just music when they took on one couple’s wedding ceremony on stage at HalLUDOween 2021.

This devotion isn’t just limited to the spooky season. Year-round, fans dissect songs and share inside jokes in a Facebook group called “Skeletons On Parade: A Ludo Family.” In 2022, members of the Facebook group raised money for international fans to fly to St. Louis and see two of the HalLUDOween shows for free. The group will continue its “scholarship program” for this year’s event, having raised $7,000 as of this writing. 

Tony Parente started “Skeletons On Parade” after Ludo reunited in 2018. During its first year, the group had around 80 members, but grew by about 200 when the next HalLUDOween was announced. Parente says its membership continues to grow with every show announcement. The group currently sits at a little over 2,000 members—including Volpe and Convy. 

“There are a lot of these online communities, but the bands don’t actually interact,” Parente says. “Most of the time, bands are really out-of-reach, and the fact that they take time out of their day to interact with this community is huge.” 

Parente discovered Ludo in college through the song “Good Will Hunting by Myself,” but he wasn’t truly evangelized until he purchased the album You’re Awful, I Love You in 2008. He felt a kinship with the band because its members seemed like they “weren’t the popular kids in high school,” and were proud of it. 

Perhaps this is why Ludo inspires so much ardor—not despite the fact that it’s made up of ordinary guys, but because of it. The years of constant touring, performing at dive bars, and interacting with fans certainly helped, but above all, Ludo connects with people because its members have always stayed true to themselves.

“The extra effort of digging in to find a genuine truth pays off in the long run,” Volpe says of his songwriting. “It’s a much quieter connection you end up having with your audience, but one that ends up being much deeper and longer-lasting.” 

But excavating a “genuine truth” from oneself through music is thorny at best — at worst, it’s downright unattainable. All music is a performance, after all, so there’s inevitably going to be some degree of artifice. Or as Robert Christgau puts it , the “persona who sings the song” is separate from the “person who created both the song and the persona.” While the two can overlap on occasion, they nevertheless remain distinct. Even the very notion of a true, authentic self is tenuous—more of a verb than a thing, always transforming and always slipping from our grasp. Volpe is the first to admit that he might never be able to convey his complete, true self to listeners, if such a thing even exists. But that doesn’t stop him from trying anyway. 

“It does feel like a Sisyphean effort…but it’s the only struggle worth undertaking,” he says. 

For people to enjoy your music is one thing — for them to form an entire community around it is something else entirely. Volpe might never fully reach his goal of communicating a “genuine truth” through music. But if their emotional resonance with fans is any indicator, it seems he and the other members of Ludo have gotten pretty darn close.

Introduction

Le Ludo est joué avec 4 joueurs, et chaque joueur joué pour lui-même. Un plateau de jeu unique est utilisé, conjointement avec un dé de 6 côtés et 4 jeux de pions de 4 pièces (pions), où chaque jeu de pions est d?une couleur différente. Chaque joueur utilise l?un des jeux de pions pour jouer.

Plateau de jeu

Le plateau de jeu du Ludo a 72 maisons dans le total, en plus de 4 zones de départ et 4 zones finales. Ces zones ont des couleurs différentes et sont les miennes des pions. Parmi les 72 maisons, 20 font partie des 4 dernières lignes droites, qui sont aussi de la même couleur. De cette façon, chaque joueur a une zone de départ, une dernière ligne droite et une maison finale.

La zone de départ du jeu

Chaque joueur commence avec ses 4 pions dans les maisons initiales qui attendent dans les zones initiales. Le match est joué en tours individuels, et après chaque tour la fois est passée pour le prochain joueur dans le sens horaire (pour le joueur à la gauche du joueur actuel). Le joueur qui commence le match et joue le premier tour est tiré au sort.

L?objectif du joueur est de conduire tous ses pions dans le plateau de jeu, dès les zones initiales jusqu'aux zones finales de sa couleur.

Dans un tour du Ludo, le joueur actuel reçoit le dé et lance lui. Le résultat détermine lesquelles seront ses possibles mouvements dans ce tour. Après avoir déplacé l'un de ses pions (si possible), il passe la fois pour le prochain joueur.

Quelques situations permettent que le joueur joue des tours supplémentaires. Le tour supplémentaire est joué de la même façon, c?est-à-dire, le joueur lance un dé et fait sa commande. Plusieurs tours supplémentaires peuvent alors se produire si le joueur satisfait à ses conditions.

Quittant la zone de départ

Le joueur ne peut pas déplacer un pion librement s?il est dans une maison de départ. Il en prend le 6 dans le dé pour pouvoir le faire.

Si le joueur en prend le 6, il peut retirer l'un de ses pions qui sont dans la zone de départ et la déplacer chez entrée de sa couleur. Cette maison d?entrée est colorée et vers la zone de départ. Les pions qui entreront dans cette maison seront habilités à se déplacer dans le plateau de jeu en matchs futurs. Cette commande clôture le tour.

Si le résultat du dé ne soit pas de 6 et que tous les pions du joueur soient dans la zone de départ, il n?a pas de mouvement valide et il devrait passer la fois. Cela arrive souvent au début du jeu où tous les joueurs sont avec leurs pions dans ce domaine.

Prenant le 6 dans le Dé

Pendant tout le match, chaque fois qu'un joueur prend le 6, il reçoit un tour supplémentaire après son déplacement. En conséquence, chaque fois que le joueur place un de ses pions chez l'entrée, il peut jouer un tour en plus suivant.

Si le joueur prend le 6 trois fois d'affilée, il passe la fois immédiatement et ne déplace aucun pion.

Si le joueur a l?un ou plusieurs pions habilités pour se déplacer sur le plateau de jeu, il peut utiliser le résultat du dé pour déplacer l?un entre eux. Pour le faire, il doit choisir un pion habilité et le déplacer dans le sens horaire du plateau de jeu, par une quantité de maisons exactement égales au résultat du dé. Cette commande clôture son tour.

Dans la commande, le pion peut passer librement dans n'importe quelle maison et arriver à votre domicile de destination (déterminée par le résultat du dé), quel que soit le nombre de pions que les maisons l'aient. De cette façon, il n'y a pas de limite au nombre de pions qu'une maison peut puiser et il n'y a pas de barrière à la commande.

Une capture arrive quand un pion du joueur termine son mouvement dans une maison où il n'y a qu'un seul pion et ce pion est d'un joueur adverse. Lorsque cela se produit, le pion adverse retourne chez initiale de sa couleur respective et le joueur qui a fait la capture reçoit un tour supplémentaire.

Le pion capturé doit être chez destination le pion qui se déplace, pas sur le chemin. Comme ça, pour capturer un pion, le joueur doit prendre dans le dé un nombre exact à distance de son pion au pion adverse.

Si le joueur capture un pion après a pris le 6, il reçoit deux tours supplémentaires : un tour pour 6 et un tour pour la capture.

Les maisons sécurisées

Certaines maisons protègent les pions qui sont dans leur zone et les empêchent d'être capturés. Elles sont : chez l'entrée de chaque joueur (vers les zones initiales) et chez un symbole d'étoile.

Dans ces maisons, même si un pion est seul, il ne peut pas être capturé. Comme ça, si un joueur déplace un autre pion sur cette maison, les deux pions adverses attendent ensemble dans cette maison.

Les maisons d'entrées de chaque joueur empêchent la capture de n'importe quel pion, pas seulement de pion de la même couleur. Elles sont donc sûres pour tout joueur. Il en va de même pour les maisons avec une étoile.

Dernière ligne droite

Chaque joueur possède une dernière ligne droite de sa couleur, composée de 5 maisons colorées. Cette ligne droite fonctionne comme un pont reliant les maisons communes du plateau de jeu à la zone finale du joueur.

Les maisons de la dernière ligne droite ne peuvent être accessibles que par les pions de votre joueur respectif. Un pion peut rentrer dans cette ligne seule par la maison voisine qui est le plus éloigné du centre du plateau de jeu, qui a attendu après que le pion a fait presque un tour sur le plateau de jeu. Aucun pion peut passer la rentrée de la dernière ligne droite de même couleur et faire un tour entier sur le plateau de jeu.

Les uniques pions autorisés à passer la dernière ligne droite sont de la même couleur respective, dont, les chez dernière ligne droite sont automatiquement sécurisés.

La dernière ligne droite

Pour placer un pion pour la dernière ligne droite, le joueur doit obtenir un résultat exactement égal la distance de son pion jusqu'à la zone. S'il l'obtient, il peut déplacer son pion dans la zone et point final. Cela fait, le pion est arrivé à sa destination et il ne peut plus être déplacé.

Si le résultat du dé est supérieur à la distance entre le pion et la dernière ligne droite, ce pion ne peut pas être déplacé.

Chaque fois que le joueur arrive avec un de ses pions dans la dernière ligne droite, il reçoit un tour supplémentaire. Si le joueur le fait après a pris le 6, il reçoit deux tours supplémentaires : un tour pour 6 dans le dé et un tour pour la dernière ligne droite.

La fin du match

Le match terminé où un joueur arrivera portant tous ses 4 pions dans la dernière ligne droite. Ce joueur est le gagnant.e. Dans le ClubDeJeux, l'ordre de classement des autres joueurs est déterminé après le comptage des points.

La ponctuation

La ponctuation de chaque joueur est calculée en fonction de l'éloignement de la zone de départ de ses pions jusqu'à la fin. Chaque pion qui est arrivé chez finale vaut 250 points et les autres valent des points égaux à la distance restante chez initiale. Le joueur gagnant finit toujours avec 1000 points.

Par exemple : à la fin du match, un joueur est arrivé avec un pion chez finale (250 points), a marché 20 maisons avec un autre pion (20 points), a mis un pion chez entrée (1 point) et a terminé avec un pion chez départ (0 points). Ce joueur comptait 271 points.

Règles Complémentaires et Considérations

Dans leur temps, le joueur est obligé de déplacer un pion. Il peut seul passer la fois s'il n'a aucun mouvement possible. Cette situation peut seulement réussir sauf s'il ne prend pas de numéro spécifié du dé et ait tous les pions dans les lieux : le lieu de départ ou d'arrivée.

Prendre le 6 dans le dé n'oblige pas le joueur à retirer un pion du point de départ. Sauf s'il y a d'autres pions dans le plateau de jeu, il peut les déplacer si possible.

S'il n'y a aucun mouvement possible, le joueur ne peut pas aussi jouer de tour supplémentaire et il doit passer la tour à l'autre, même qu'il les ait. Par exemple : il prend le 6 dans le dé mais, il a seulement des pions dans le point d'arrivée, en conséquence n'a pas de mouvement possible. Au lieu de faire des tours supplémentaires pour prendre le 6, il est obligé de passer la fois.

Quand le joueur prend le 6 trois fois d'affilée, aucun de leur pion arrivera par le point de départ comme dans le Parchis. Dans Ludo, le joueur seul passe la fois.

Dans le Ludo, il n?y a pas de bonus de +1 dans le dé qui existe dans Parchis. Le résultat du dé, ici, jamais se modifie.

Les tours supplémentaires consécutifs

Il est possible qu'un joueur joue plusieurs tours supplémentaires d'affilée, au cas où il arrive une combinaison des suivies situations que devenue ces tours : prendra le 6 dans le dé, faire des captures et déplacer des pions dans la dernière ligne droite.

• Tour 1) le joueur prend le 6 (il reçoit un tour supplémentaire) et le déplace;
• Tour 2) le joueur prend le 6 (il reçoit un tour supplémentaire) et le déplace;
• Tour 3) le joueur prend le 3, le déplace et capture un pion (il reçoit un tour supplémentaire)
• Tour 4) le joueur prend le 6, le déplace et arrive avec une pièce dans le point d?arrivé (il reçoit deux tours supplémentaires)
• Tour 5) le joueur prend le 2 et le déplace;
• Tour 6) le joueur prend le 4 et le déplace;

Dans ce cas-là, le joueur a pris le 6 trois fois, mais ne pas d'affilée, pourtant il ne reçoit pas la pénalité de passer la fois.
