We had a great day. Scott was our driver and his knowledge of the island was incredible. It was nice to relax and let someone else drive. The van was nice and comfortable even after 11 hours of driving. The food was really good and plenty of drinks and snacks.

Aaron was amazing!!! He was so knowledgeable about the Big Island of Hawaii, the food, agriculture, the volcanos and the stars/constellations! We knew we needed jackets but didn't realize how freezing it really got up there and our jackets were not enough but thank God for Aaron, he gave us all warm jackets and lots of water and many potty breaks! This tour was so worth it. 5 out of 5!!!

The full-day tour we took was an excellent intro to us. This was our first trip to the Big Island. Our guide, Brent, was a skillful driver (important on narrow winding roads), and very knowledgeable about Hawaiian natural and human history. Having worked on the Hawaiian waters for many years, and tour guiding for many more, he has all the experience to bring. He seemed enthusiastic and happy to share his home with us. The personal touch was very nice. A few days later we visited the Place of Refuge, the Painted Church, and the nut farm that he had pointed out. The Place of Refuge was extremely beautiful and worthy, as the National Parks do a great job with information, too. We appreciated the tips about coming back to visit places that weren't on the tour.

My niece and I attended a tour 11/19/23 with tour guide Chandler we went to rainbow falls, volcano/tube etc. He took us to all the hot spots on the big island. He is a wealth of knowledge and very fun and kept engaged in our tour group all day. Highly recommend for the ultimate big island experience. Thank you Chandler!!!

We had a party of 6, 4 that booked together and 2 that booked separately. We didn't think to make a note that we were together. There were 2 vans that took the groups around. 4 of us were in one van and 2 in the other. It was fine though, the 2 were newlyweds and it was better that they weren't with the parents!! We crossed paths a couple of times which was nice for photo ops. This gave us an opportunity to rate 2 tour guides, Todd and Aaron. Both had their strengths! First stop was a coffee farm. Informative tour. Had lunch there. It was as advertised and tasty. They showed us the dinner menu and texted our dinner choices to the restaurant from here so the food would be ready. Next was the bakery for dessert. It was ok. The donuts were good, not amazing. A touristy stop. Then off to the black sand beach. Beautiful. Saw a couple of sea turtles. Next stop was the Volcano National Park. Saw the crater, steam vents. We did not cross paths with the other group. Next was the rainforest and lava tube. It was cold and rainy. There were umbrellas and rain jackets to use. I was layered with a t-shirt, sweatshirt and raincoat, but I added the rain jacket provided. We stopped at the lodge and warmed up and had an adult beverage. Then off to the restaurant. That was the black eye on this trip. The mahi mahi was good, the ribs not so much. I regretted my choice and wished I had ordered the burger. The service was horrible. As promised the food was ready, they called out the dish and you claimed it. What was bad was trying to get a refill on a drink or napkins. The service was non-existent. The bathrooms were dirty too. Made me wonder if the bathrooms were like that, what was the kitchen like?! From dinner we drove to Hilo and then across the island, stopping at 6600 feet to star gaze. Aaron was very informative on which stars were which. He had this awesome laser pointer to point out the stars and telescopic binoculars. Todd had a telescope. At 6600 feet it was 40 degrees. They did provide fleece jackets that I added to my layers, but with shorts on it was cold, especially with the wind. I would recommend you bring a backpack with sweatpants. You could easily leave it in the van at the other stops. After stargazing it was back to the hotel. Drop off was 11:30 pm. I would urge Wasabi Tours to consider a different restaurant for dinner. That was definitely a negative. The tour was definitely worth the time and money. I would recommend it, hands down.

We recently took the full island circle tour and we were not disappointed! Our tour guide, Brent, let us know he was fairly new with 2 months of doing the tours and he did an awesome job. He kept us entertained and informed the entire time with historical stories and random tidbits/facts about Hawaii and everything we saw. He did well with setting expectations for each stop and planning when and where we would do lunch etc to avoid larger tour crowds and still get to fully enjoy each stop. I would definitely recommend to take the day and experience the island this way, even our 11yo really enjoyed the whole trip!

Kurt was our guide and he was amazing! We did the whole island tour and it was worth every penny! Not only did we get to see the whole island but we learned so much along the way! We were lucky enough to see lava in the volcano national park, see a Kona coffee farm (and get samples!), saw turtles on the black sand beach, got an awesome chicken teriyaki lunch, saw two amazing and huge waterfalls, stop at big island candy company (not normally a stop), and SO much more! I can not recommend this company and this tour enough!

Hands down to the best tour guide, Drue! He is exceptional, he made it so much fun and informative. No dull moment during a 13 hour tour. From the time we were picked up from our condo to the moment we were dropped off, Drue was "ON" He narrates everything... history of hawaii, stories of goddesses, the puna, geology, sacred places, customs, plants and flowers. He is simply awesome, very enthusiastic, he made the entire vibe so much fun and very accommodating, ready to take pictures as needed. First stop was Kona Coffee farm where we have tasted fresh coffee, and had our delicious lunch served. Then off to Punalu'u Bake shop famous bakery in BI (guava and lilikoi malasada, a must!). Next stop was Black Sand Beach, where some of us have seen Honu. Nice place to take pictures. Our time is limited because we still have more places to go to, so we can't go for a swim. Finally, off to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park! We went to the summit twice; one during daylight where we saw the gorgeous crater rim with steam. You can't really see the lava since its still bright. However, we went back at night and the view was spectacular!! This made our tour extra special. Thanks to Drue for going above and beyond constantly checking the lava movements through a website. We also went for a short hike inside the Thurston Lava Tube. Then to Volcano house so we can brag about being there. Had our sumptuous dinner at Lava Rock Cafe. Finally, our last stop at Mauna Kea for star gazing. We were fortunate to see lots of stars. Drue is very knowledgeable about it. I recommend bringing thick jackets since it is super cold!! Wish we had some hot chocolate or coffee while stargazing (wink!). Had to go back inside the van, but I've heard Drue's lectures about zodiacs, which is very interesting. Not sure if he does palm reading too. Although going back to Kona is more than 50 miles. Its seems like a short drive since Drue kept us entertained. Everyone is so happy. Lunch, snacks, dinner and drinks provided. What else can you ask for. I highly recommend booking with them, you won't regret it a bit. Mahalo Drue!

Scott was a fantastic tour operator, and we had a great time! The guide really makes or breaks this kind of tour, and since all the tours charted the same path more or less, we did get to see and interact with other guides from other companies - they were all pleasant, but they seemed a lot less engaged with their participants than Scott. it was like hanging out with a walking talking encyclopedia on the island! Wasabi tours is a bit cheaper than the other tours and provides a simple lunch, but I am so glad I took this tour instead of another with a better lunch option because the lunch really isn't the point in a tour of the island - in any case, all the tours follow the same routes and spend about the same amount of time at each place, so if you're concerned you may not spend enough time at the volcanoes on one tour vs another, don't be. What you really want is the guide, and without knowing them in advance you have no way of knowing that you're getting a good guide or not. I rolled the dice on wasabi tours after reading the reviews and seeing most people had a great time. I got 400 pictures, and it was easily one of the best tours I've ever had in my life traveling to over 30 countries. The other tourists were great as well, and we had a lot of fun. Even the stops like the coffee shop and donut spot that I had initially thought were going to be totally boring were really really cool! Also, one of the tourists on the bus was here for a honeymoon and got to drink coffee for the first time in his life (!!!) So it was great getting to be a part of that After going on this tour I feel so relaxed about being on this island - it can get expensive and that can be stressful because you feel like you have to enjoy it to make it worth it - this tour made the whole trip worth it, so now I can relax on the beach for a few days!

On our last visit to Kona , Hawaii we discovered this incredible "All Day" Island tour , Our tour guide Derek Stuart was an encyclopedia of knowledge as we made our Circle around the island . I highly recommend this tour if you have a full day and if you're lucky enough to get Derek as your tour guide that would be a bonus . Thanks again Wasabi Tours and Derek Stuart for an unforgettable adventure
