Red UN Travel Document holders, shall be exempt from entry visa and may stay in Türkiye 90 days within the preceding 180 days regardless of their purpose of visit. General visa provisions shall apply for Blue UN travel document holders subject to regulations specified according to their country of origin. - Visa applications for travels except for touristic or trade purposes (work or study etc.) will need to obtain visa through Turkish Representations in the abroad. - Regardless of the visa regime applied towards the citizens of a country, the travel document holders of that country need to obtain visa from Turkish missions beforehand. - Any applicant under the age of 18 must submit official written approvals from both parents. I/10 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, the foreign seafarers serving on vessels which have received " Conformity Approval Certificate" from the related administration and is registered in Turkish International Ship Registry Law and operate outside the cabotage line, j) Foreign experts employed in the projects that are conducted within the scope of Türkiye-European Union Financial Cooperation Programs are not in need of obtaining a work visa during their term of office. - Within the scope of article 55, residence permits of the foreigners coming to Türkiye are given as “Short Term" residence permits by Provincial Directorate of Migration Administration. Exemption periods cannot be extended, the foreigners under this provision can make use of exemption rules only once within one calendar year. However, it is required that it must have been three months as of the expiry date of the residence permit granted to the foreigner with the same purpose in order to exercise this right. In case of the need of working longer than the exemption period allows, the foreigner has to obtain a work visa through the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. Tour Operator Representative Visa - The foreign representatives of tour operators, are exempted from obtaining a work visa for their duties for up to eight months. The applications of the foreigners asking for a residence permit from Provincial Directorate of Migration as the representatives of tour operators are processed under rules regulating touristic visits. Transportation Visa - The foreigners applying for visa for transportation may be given a multiple entry visa valid for one year in case they submit the required documents. - Visa regime for truck drivers of a country may differ from the overall visa regime effective for citizens of that particular country. The Personnel Assigned for Foreign Religious Foundations - The personnel employed officially in foreign religious foundations in Türkiye - Work permits of the foreigners employed in religious foundations are under the framework of exceptional condition. • Turkish Consulate in Hyderabad - If your state of residence is Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Orissa and Chhattisgarh.

Turkey Visa for Indians

India passport holders, wishing to travel to Turkey for tourism or business activities, are required to apply for a Turkey visa. If certain conditions are met, including holding a visa or residence permit from the US/UK/Ireland or Schengen country, the Indian applicant can apply online for a Turkey e-Visa. If such conditions are not met, the Indian applicant should apply for a Turkey sticker visa through a Turkish embassy or representation office abroad. The Turkey visa will be valid for 180 days, allowing the Indian traveler a single entry and maximum 30-day stay. Please note that visa-on-arrival for Indian nationals is no longer available at Turkish ports of entry.

Indian nationals are eligible to apply for a Turkey e-Visa provided they meet the following requirements:

A passport valid for at least 90 days before travel date

Credit/debit card or pay account

A valid means for online payment

A valid email address

A completed and signed Turkey visa application form

A valid visa or residence permit from the US/UK/Ireland or Schengen country.

Please be advised that, while Indian citizens need only the above requirements in order to apply online for the Turkey e-Visa, applicants may be requested to provide additional supporting documents when traveling to Turkey, such as a return or onward airline ticket, hotel booking, and proof of $50 daily allowance during their stay in Turkey.

All submitted passports, visas, and residence permits must meet the minimum validity requirements, as the validity of the Turkey e-Visa directly corresponds with the applicant’s supporting documents.

It is important to note that travel to Turkey with an e-Visa must be for tourism or business activities, such as leisure, meetings or conferences. Any long-term activities, such as employment or study, require travelers to apply for the appropriate type of Turkish visa or residence permit.

• Valid for at least 6 months from the date of application with 2 blank pages
• Recent photos taken within last 6 months, on plain white background, forward facing with facial features visible and clear, size 2.5 x 2.5 inch
• A return/onward airline ticket
• Financial documents that show the ability to support yourself during your stay in Turkey
• Hotel reservations or proof of lodging
• Details of stay in Turkey
• Coverage during stay in Turkey
• Turkish host’s TR identity or citizenship number, address, contact information, income status, relationship to applicant, trip purpose, and length of stay.
• Or, Turkish company’s tax registration certificate and guarantee that host company will provide for accommodation and other expenses.

Applicants below the age of 18 are required to submit a consent form or a no objection certificate (NOC) by their parents/guardians.

Be advised that additional information may be requested during the application process.

How to apply for a Turkish e-Visa?

Indian nationals eligible to apply online for a Turkey e-Visa should following these steps:

Approved visa will be emailed to you

Indian passport holders, who are not eligible to apply online for aTurkey e-Visa, can apply for a Turkey sticker visa, in person, at their nearest Turkey embassy or consulate.

How Indian citizens can apply for a Turkey visa

• Click “ Apply online now” to be redirected to the Turkey e-Visa application page.
• Select “India” in the country field, and select your planned arrival date to Turkey.
• You will be shown information specific to Indian applicants, indicating how long your Turkey e-Visa will be valid for and your permitted length of stay in Turkey with a single-entry Turkey e-Visa.
• Fill in your details using the same official travel document that you will use for entry into Turkey. Details include the travel document’s ID number and expiration date, your birth place, parents’ names, phone number, email address, and home address.
• Fill in the details of your visa or residence permit, including document type, number, validity and issuing country.
• Click “Next” and you will be redirected to the verification page.
• Confirm your information is accurate, in order to avoid invalidation of your Turkey e-Visa. Click “Back” to modify any errors.
• Once you have made sure that all your information is correct, click “Submit”, and you will be redirected to the secure online payment page.
• Select one of the secure payment methods to complete the Turkey e-Visa fee transaction.
• If approved, a digital copy of your Turkey e-Visa will be sent to the email you provided.
• Download and print out your Turkey e-Visa and present the hard/soft copy with your travel document upon arrival to a Turkey point of entry.

Processing time

The processing time for Indian nationals applying for a Turkey e-Visa is 48 hours. Turkey sticker visa processing times may vary, so check with the Turkey embassy or consulate where you are applying for more information. In all cases, it is advised to start your visa application early in case of delays or unforeseen circumstances.

Destinations value Indian travelers, but lengthy visa processing times lasting months act as significant deterrents. The adoption of these new regulations by European authorities reflects a proactive effort to tackle these concerns, aiming to boost tourism flow.

The European Commission has introduced a new visa “cascade” regime for Indian nationals applying for Schengen visas in India. This regime looks to offer longer-term, multi-entry Schengen visas, based on the applicant’s travel history.

Indian travel agents had been complaining of Schengen visa delays as a major challenge to the summer travel rush from India.

• How does one qualify for the longer duration visas?

The European Commission can issue a two-year multiple-entry visa after a traveler “has obtained and lawfully used two visas within the previous three years.” This demonstrates a positive travel history and compliance with previous visa regulations.

Subsequently, after granting the two-year visa, authorities may issue a five-year visa if the passport has has adequate validity remaining.

• What benefits do holders of these extended visas enjoy?

During the validity period of these visas, holders can enjoy travel rights equivalent to visa-free nationals within the Schengen area, allowing for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

• Which countries are part of the Schengen area?

Mahendra Vakharia, managing director of Pathfinders Holidays, said there was no standard policy of Schengen states for issuing these long-term visas earlier. Switzerland, France, Netherlands, Italy and Spain usually issued long-term visa, but it was all subjective. “With this new policy it should be a standard rule now,” Vakharia said.

• Travelers mainly complain of longer processing times, has that changed?

Here too, there is no standard processing time as it varies from country to country, according to Vakharia. “France and Spain have been processing visas within four days, and then there’s Croatia, which takes 60 days,” he said.

Processing time will not change as of now, it will take time for the visa rules to be enforced, said an industry source, while highlighting that the visa would be especially useful for corporate travelers.

Speaking on the possible motivations, Vakharia acknowledged various reasons, including administrative capacity constraints at embassies to cater to the huge inflow of applications.

“As there is an overwhelming demand from Indian travelers, the process of securing visa appointments has posed significant challenges , especially for travelers residing in cities lacking VFS Global centers,” he said.

The European Commission said in an statement that the decision reflects the EU-India Common Agenda on Migration and Mobility, aimed at fostering comprehensive cooperation on migration policy. Facilitating people-to-people contacts is a key aspect of this agenda, acknowledging India’s importance as an EU partner.

The decision also reflects a realization of the strong economic benefits derived through the spending power of Indian tourists. As Vakharia aptly puts it, “Why let go of the Golden Indian Goodie Bag?”
