FSU School of Theatre tickets on sale for 2024-2025 seasonĀ

Tickets are now available for the Florida State University School of Theatreā€™s 2024-2025 season, which will feature three musicals and two plays showcasing the artistry and skill of the programā€™s students on stage and behind the scenes.

ā€œThe 2024-2025 season truly has something for everyone, and we are so excited to share these stories with our patrons,ā€ said Brad Brock, director of the School of Theatre. ā€œEach production offers incredible learning opportunities for our students, as well as world-class entertainment for our community.ā€

The School of Theatre will kick the season off Oct. 18 with the classic Tony-nominated musical comedy ā€œOnce Upon a Mattress,ā€ directed by Christine Hansen (MFA 2018).

ā€œI’m so excited to be directing for the School of Theatre again,ā€ Hansen said. ā€œThey’ve put together a dream team of designers, musical directors, choreographer and stage managers for me to work with. Together, with what I know will be an amazingly talented and creative cast, we are going to make a joyously enchanted version of the princess and the pea story. ā€˜Once Upon a Mattressā€™ is going to be fun from start to finish!ā€

florida state university tours

From Nov. 1-10 in the Lab Theatre, the school will present Sarah DeLappeā€™s Pulitzer-nominated play ā€œThe Wolves,ā€ a coming-of-age story focused on a suburban girlsā€™ soccer team.

This seasonā€™s annual Theatre for Young Audiences production, showing Nov. 21-24, is ā€œNaked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience.ā€ This family-friendly musical is based on the hit children’s book by Mo Willems, ā€œNaked Mole Rat Gets Dressedā€ and features rock music and a cast of quirky characters.

In Spring 2025, the school will present the comedy musical ā€œMel Brooksā€™ Young Frankensteinā€ and Karen Zacariasā€™ award-winning play ā€œThe Sins of Sor Juana,ā€ inspired by the real-life story of 17th-century Latin-American poet Sor Juana InĆ©s de la Cruz.

Tickets for individual shows are $10-$35 and can be purchased online, by phone at (850) 644-6500, or at the Fine Arts Ticket Office in the Fine Arts Building at 540 West Call Street starting Sept. 2024.

The Fine Arts Ticket Office is open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, and one hour before each performance. Performance times are 8 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday.
