About Shawn Mendes

GRAMMY nominated Toronto born multi-platinum singer/songwriter Shawn Mendes released his highly anticipated 4th studio album, Wonder, in 2020 to rave reviews.  The album debuted as #1 on the Billboard 200 Chart and in multiple worldwide markets, marking Shawn’s fourth straight #1 album.  In 2019 Shawn was nominated for a GRAMMY for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” for “Señorita,” his single with Camila Cabello. In 2018 he released his self-titled platinum album, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Chart as well as multiple worldwide markets. The album became one of the top best-selling album debuts of 2018 and made Shawn the third youngest solo artist to ever have three consecutive #1 albums. Shawn was nominated in two categories for the 61st annual GRAMMY® Awards, including “Song of the Year” for “In My Blood” and “Best Pop Vocal Album” for SHAWN MENDES.  The same year Shawn debuted his certified platinum single, “If I Can’t Have You,” at #1 on iTunes and #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. With “Señorita” at #1 and “If I Can’t Have You” at #2, Shawn is the first male solo artist ever to simultaneously hold the #1 and #2 place on the Top 40 chart. On his last world tour, he sold out his first ever stadium show in minutes at Rogers Centre in his hometown of Toronto. The tour began in March 2019, with over 100 dates across the UK, Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and Australia/New Zealand.  In April 2017, Shawn released his 3x platinum hit “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back.” The track scored Shawn his second #1 single at Top 40 radio and on Billboard’s Pop Songs chart, joining his 7x platinum single “Stitches.”  Shawn has nearly 50 Billion global streams and 8.6 billion video views. He topped Billboard’s “21 Under 21” in 2017 and 2018 and has been featured on Forbes “30 Under 30,” Spotify’s “25 Under 25,” and Time Magazine’s “Time 100 Most Influential”. In 2018, ROI Influencer Media recognized Shawn as the #1 Most Influential Artist and #1 Most Influential Teen across all social media platforms. In 2019 Shawn launched The Shawn Mendes Foundation, which seeks to inspire Shawn’s audience, the youth generation of today—to learn about those causes that they are passionate about, and help empower them to use the voice they have to bring change to the world by taking action & giving back.  As part of its ongoing mission, the Foundation provides resources and support to amplify the voices, messages, and platforms of young leaders driving positive change. Shawn was nominated in two categories for the 61st annual GRAMMY® Awards, including “Song of the Year” for “In My Blood” and “Best Pop Vocal Album” for SHAWN MENDES .

When did Shawn Mendes' tour start?

The North American leg of Wonder: The World Tour kicked off in Portland, Oregon on June 27 and was set to end will end in Newark, New Jersey on October 26, 2022. Since Shawn's initial tour announcement, the European leg has been rescheduled until 2023 and the first show is set to take place in Bologna, Italy on May 31, 2023.

Did Shawn Mendes cancel his Wonder tour?

The Mendes Army will have to hold out a little longer to see Shawn on tour. On July 27, 2022, the 23-year-old Toronto native penned a message to fans on Instagram, where he announced the upcoming North American leg has been canceled. "As you guys know, I had to postpone the past few weeks of shows since I wasn't totally prepared for the toll that being back on the road would take on me," he wrote, "I started this tour excited to finally get back to playing live after a long break due to the pandemic, but the reality is I was not at all ready for how difficult touring would be after this time away."

He reassured fans that although he isn't touring right now, he is still working on new music and plans to release it sometime soon. "I know you all have been waiting so long to see these shows, and it breaks my heart to tell you this but I promise I will be back as soon as I've taken the right time to heal," Shawn said.

The announcement comes after Shawn postponed the North American leg of the tour due to his mental health on July 9, 2022. He shared a statement on Instagram with his fans and confirmed that the remainder of the U.S. leg was going to carry on at a later date. "I've been touring since I was 15 and to be honest it's always been difficult to be on the road away from friends and family," Shawn wrote before admitting that his decision to hit the road was "premature" and that he's "hit a breaking point" due to the pressures of touring. As a result, he postponed three weeks of shows to take some time to heal.

Which cities is Shawn Mendes playing for Wonder: The World Tour?

After playing in Portland, Shawn is hitting a ton of different cities in the U.S., from St. Paul, Minnesota to Orlando, Florida. He shared the official tour dates on Instagram in December 2021, which also revealed that he'll be joined by special guests Dermot Kennedy and Tate McRae .

As for the European leg of the tour, Shawn's good friend King Princess will be joining him across the pond. Starting in May 2023, they'll be playing cities like Bologna, Barcelona, and Manchester.

Are there any photos from the tour?

Oh, yes. Shawn performed in front of thousands of fans at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon on June 27, and the photos practically emanate the energy and joy from the show. According to his stylist Tiffany Briseno , Shawn wore vintage Tommy Hilfiger. His whole ensemble consisted of a black embroidered sleeveless vest, a white tank, black pants, and boots. What's the setlist for shawn mendes' wonder: the world tour.

The tour just kicked off, and according to Just Jared , Shawn plays 21 songs and one encore . Of course, his biggest hits like "Stitches," "Mercy," and "When You're Gone" are included. See here for the full setlist.

Is Shawn making any sustainability efforts for Wonder: The World Tour?

Yes! His tour is actually changing the game when it comes to reducing our carbon footprint (more on that here ). In a statement released on April 29, Shawn revealed that he and his team are doing their part in taking specific measures to ensure the tour is sustainable. According to a report by Billboard , his tour will reduce its per-show carbon footprint "by implementing simple but effective practices that can be done by both fans and tour crew."

"No plan is perfect, but we see this as a starting point," Shawn said in his statement. "We are in a pivotal moment for climate, and it's crucial to me that this tour is a step in the right direction."

The tour has a goal to reduce emissions and in order to do so, they're offering merchandise with sustainable fabrics and fewer dyes and using energy-efficient lighting and power for the show. When traveling from show to show, the crew's opting for sustainable fuel options and will also be eating food that's sourced from local farms. Any extra food will be composted or donated to the appropriate organizations.

The tour's official website also offers resources for fans so they can carpool or use sustainable transportation to shows.

From the age of just sixteen, Toronto native, Shawn Mendes has harnessed his talents to secure a contract with Island Records, showcasing an individual slant on Pop, Soul and R&B.

Mendes hails from a suburb of Toronto called Pickering, and began to post videos of him singing whilst singing renditions of the most popular songs in the charts accompanied by his guitar on the popular 6-second video app, ‘Vine’ in 2013. He earned himself millions of views, and of course followers in just a few months, and that is when he caught the attention of manager, Andrew Gertler in January 2014. He has since become one of the youngest artists to have a debut song in the Billboard hot 100, with his first single making it to number 24, at the age of 15 years old.

Mendes released his eponymous debut EP on July 28th 2014, following a tour with Austin Mahone. The EP sold a staggering 48,000 copies it it’s first week of release, making it firmly to number 5 in the Billboard 200. The release of course features the single “Life of the Party” which is track one.

He also featured on The Vamps cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s hit single “Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)” released on October 12th 2014, the song would go on to chart in Australia, New Zealand and South America, as well as UK where it placed at number 9 in the Singles Chart. He has also since been the recipient of the ‘Choice Web Star: Music’ Award at the Teen Choice Awards.

Live reviews

This was the best show I've EVER been to. Everything was perfect. Alessia Cara went on stage when no one was expecting it and it was so random I couldn't believe it! Me and my friends went straight to the front row but a security guard asked us to go back to our seats which were just kind of far away. We still had our minute up close to her! She put so much energy in her songs and it was wo emotional at the same time. We always wanted to get closer but we had to stay there, which was a shame, but I also understand that it was for everyone's safety. When Shawn went on stage I cried so much it was so beautiful. The visuals, the lightnings, the music, and then him! I have been waiting for so many years to see him so it really felt like a dream to me… I really sang my heart out during the entire show. I knew every lyric of every song and even if sometimes people were looking at me weirdly I tried not to care because I was having the best moment of my life! He talked to us, really cared about us, and sang with us so many times! When he was on the B-stage, he was having his little soft solo guitar and I screamed "I love you!" as loud as possible and he looked in my direction and smiled!!! This was the death of me I was so happy and couldn't stop crying. I was very close to the rose on the B-stage and I think that this rose was really powerful. The visuals at this show were just so amazingly beautiful and I'll never forget the vibes they gave me. Also this idea of giving every fan an armband lighting up during his songs is genius! The whole crowd looked so beautiful all the time! And it was also very great that we all had chairs to sit down, even in the pit so no one passes out, which happen a lot during concerts. Everything there was so well organized and so beautiful! Even if it was on a Sunday and my voice was totally gone on the next day… THANK YOU FOR THIS INCREDIBLE SHOW!!!

It was the most magical and thrilling moment of my life to be able to attend Shawn Mendes' concert in Bangkok. He has the voice of an angel. There were no impurities in his singing and I loved the complete rawness of his vocals. There were no playback audio, which was amazing because he got to show off his vocal ability. There wasn't a moment in the show where he did not shine vocally. Every performance felt unique and different to his studio recordings, in a good way. Shawn performed about 23 songs, give or take, including a medley of his old songs from his debut album, Handwritten. He even sang covers of Castle on the Hill while he played on piano as well as Kings of Leon, "Use Somebody" before transitioning into his signature hit, "Treat You Better".

What enthralled me the most was how coordinated and intense the lights and sound were. The background LED lights connected in conjunction with his singing and oh my, I have to say, it helped lighten up and amplify the concert atmosphere. It perfectly complemented the Illuminate themed tour with neon lights.

Shawn only went into small parts of the crowd at the front. From other concerts I've seen on YouTube, he walked all over the arena.

Overall, this was the best experience of my life. Shawn Mendes is my idol and inspiration and to be able to see him at my first concert is an experience I will always treasure. He's such a down-to-earth, humble guy and the passion he has in music is admirable. During his slower songs and ballads, it was such an intimate moment to see the crowd wave their camera lights, especially when he sang songs with special meaning to him such as "A Little Too Much" and "Ruin".

To see my favourite singer perform was the best thing ever. I loved everything about the concert. Like every great experience in my life, there are perks. For example my area. I bought the tickets really late because at the time the tickets where out, I didn't have enough money (although the tickets where quite cheap). My area was very far away from the stage and I couldn't see him properly. But on the website there where some bullet points why the seats where good. One of them was "You can see him very well" which was a lie (kind of). I could see him but only from the side. Next to the stage was a screen where he was recorded but I couldn't see it either. It was kind of hidden in my area. Just like me nobody in my area could see the screen. But to be honest that is not Shawns fault. My advice (Buy tickets which are not on the side of the stage). He performed perfectly and I loved everything about it. I was kind of disapointed that he didn't said much before he sang a song. He just performed. All in all I can give shawnie 4 from 5 stars. I loved it and him. Everything was perfect except these few things but it's fine. Not every good moment has to be perfect! If I could turn back time (twenty one pilots refrence LOL), I would. He sang beautifully and performed perfectly. His performance was amazing!! xxx

I went to the Shawn Mendes concert on July 24th in San Jose and I had the best night of my life. It was my first time seeing him live and he was absolutely amazing. He played every song on his album along with a few extras on his upcoming album. I think it's amazing how he's so young yet he's pursuing his passion and he's having a blast doing it! He's such an inspiration to so many people and I definitely look up to him. It was so nice seeing him having fun up on stage and dancing around and smiling. It was amazing seeing an artist up on stage absolutely loving every minute of his performance. He was just having such a good time up there and just seeing him smile and laugh definitely made my night. He's so talented yet so humble and cool about it. I was so blessed to be able to get close seats at the show and so definitely a highlight for me is when a fan I had met earlier on in the night sitting next to me and I had put up heart signs with our hands together and he made eye contact with us and just gave us a huge smile and nodded at us, and it just made my night. I had such a great experience seeing him live and he puts on a great show so if anyone is interested in having a good time, you should buy tickets and go see Shawn Mendes.

I bought the general admission tickets for my cousin's birthday and wasn't planning on going, but if she asked I would. I am a fan of Shawn, but not in the way I knew every word of his 'Handwritten' album.

It comes to the concert and we get in line at 3:45 and I could already tell we would have good seats. Doors open at 6 and the concert doesn't start until 7. They finally let us into the venue, we're about first 10 rows from the stage, and before you know it 7 o'clock rolls around. The opener Jacquie Lee had included the crowd into her performance and with the covers she sang. We all start chanting "we want shawn", right after her set. The music inbetween sets was a laid back john Mayer type of vibe to it. Shawn came out, the crowd went crazy. He opened the show with "Somethig big", and always included the crowd. I was impressed by the set list, and also found it online. Stitches, Kid In Love, Life of the Party(closer), and the weight were all on there. Shawn was the most humble, enjoyable, best looking guy I've seen live so far. He noticed a lot of his fans, including the people around me. If you are a fan, try your best to go, it will be an experience you'll never forget!

the experience was so magical and incredible, i wait him for like 4 years and when i saw him i couldn´t avoid to cry becuase i though it wasn't true. He is so nice, kind and the sweetest guy in the world. His passion for singing in front of a lot of people is so admirable, i really love his voice and how he interact with his fans like singing with them or go down and the end of the show for meet some of them and feel that connection between them. I really enjoy every song as long as I tore my throat singing with all my heart, the part of I was waiting the most was Bad reputation because of the rock sensation and power at that moment and in Never be alone was really magical, i've never though i was gonna be part of those lights in the show. At the end with In my blood y realize that it was done, that the show has over and I couldn´t believe it because it pass so fast. Everything was magical and passionate and I´m so thankful with Shawn for coming to my country and make my dream came true. I love him so much.

Shawn Mendes’ show was the best show in my life

It started with Alessia Cara performance. It was awesome, she sings really well and she has a really great presence in the stage I got really emotional and cried a lot during her performance.

Then Shawn Mendes started he really sings very well. He gave a short speech about every single person is important and even when we hit the rock bottom we are important and we have the power to change the wrold.

The visuals of the show were amazing and beautiful

The crowd was really loud we sang from the top of our lungs and everyone(including me) knew every single word of every single song the both sang

I don’t have words to describe the show... I cried a lot... I laughed a lot... I had lots of fun.... and I smiled a lot..... it was magical both Alessia’s and Shawn’s performance. I was really glad that he brought her(btw she is one of my favorite singers as Shawn is)

It was a really nice, emocional and a great concert

I will never forget this moment

That concert was amazing. I have been a fan of Shawn Mendes since late 2013 and it has been an incredible experience to watch him grow as an artist and a person. He is so sweet and caring person and cares about his fans a lot. So When we got to the venue it was pouring rain when we were waiting outside, but it was totally worth it. The only thing I didn't like was how slow the merch lines were I was waiting in line for more than an hour I missed all of Charlie puths set but it was fine I could still hear it. So when Shawn was getting ready to go on I got really emotional and when he came out and started sing I started crying my eyes out because I was so happy for him because I remember watching his 6 second videos on vine (RIP) and now I'm witnessing him perform in front of 18,000 people it's mindblowing. Finally conclusion I would 10/10 would recommend going to Shawn Mendes concert because it will make your year.

P.s I have post concert depression

When Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes takes to the stage it is utter hysteria amongst the audience. Before him are screaming girls, probably about 500, in this exclusive TV spot.

Accompanying himself on just an acoustic guitar, he launches straight into his song “Life of the Party”, which inspires a sing along to every word amongst these punters. He is a young guy, with a lot to learn and could use some life experience, but so far it’s going pretty well for him. He has maturity beyond hit years when he plays, wowing audiences across Canada and the U.S.A with poise and confidence. His song “The Weight” is another sort of acoustic song that is probably more so a ballad than the previous song but it still generates a chorus of sing alongs, that light up the room, supporting Mendes’ voice. I have no doubt that this young singer songwriter will become and international success soon enough, it is just a matter of time!

Shawn Mendes Announces His Return to the Stage and a New Album Nearly 2 Years After Canceling Tour

Shawn Mendes

The singer took to Instagram on Thursday to announced the big news.

Shawn Mendes is stepping back into the spotlight and embracing his return to the stage.

The 25-year-old singer took to Instagram on Thursday to share the exciting news that he's got his comeback all lined up -- first with a headline festival performance and then some brand-new music.

"It's been a really long time since i last played live and I'm so excited to share that I'll be headlining Rock In Rio on Sept 22nd," Mendes wrote in the caption to a black-and-white snapshot of himself shirtless, strumming a guitar. "I've missed being on stage and seeing you all in person so much!"

The singer added, "I've also been working on a new album and i can't wait to play these new songs live for you. See you there. eu te amo!!!!"

The announcement comes just a few days after Mendes made a brief return to the stage for a surprise performance with Niall Horan in London.

Horan, 30, was playing a stop on The Show: Live on Tour, and shocked fans when he called on the "Stitches" artist to join him.

"Welcome to the stage, my little big brother, Shawn Mendes," Horan declared as the audience went absolutely wild over the unexpected guest.

Together, the pair performed a duet rendition of Mendes' hit single "Treat You Better," and Horan celebrated the appearance with a hearty "That’s my boy!" as Mendes exited after the number.

The news of Mendes headlining Rock in Rio comes nearly two years after he  canceled his planned world tour in 2022 to focus on his mental health  and wellbeing.

Back in January, he took to Instagram to share reflections on his personal growth over the past year.

The "Wonder" singer  posted a video of himself singing along to a harmonium  and expressed how this practice helped him cope with anxiety and fear. Mendes revealed that allowing himself to sing without the need for perfection became a source of comfort, emphasizing the beauty in the interplay between "right" and "wrong" notes.

"I realized there were only moments of bliss and euphoria from the 'right' notes BECAUSE of the 'wrong' notes," he wrote on Instagram at the time. "The only reason I can sing in key is because I've learned to listen."

Mendes also shared that his most significant lesson in 2023 was "to accept and welcome the lows of life" and not constantly seek change to regain a sense of high.

Shawn Mendes postpones tour dates citing mental health

by: Anna Roberts

Posted: Jul 9, 2022 / 08:12 PM CDT

Updated: Jul 9, 2022 / 08:15 PM CDT

Allstate Arena in Rosemont show set for Friday has been postponed

Shawn Mendes announced he is postponing some tour dates to focus on his mental health.

The 23-year-old singer posted a message on his Instagram profile on Friday and said he is postponing the next three weeks of shows “until further notice.”

“This breaks my heart to have to say this,” his post began. “After speaking with my team and health professionals, I need to take some time to heal and take care of myself and my mental health, first and foremost.”

Mendes was scheduled to play the Allstate Arena in Rosemont on Friday, July 15. The tour also included a stop at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on July 12.

The All State Arena’s website did not have any further information other than the show was postponed.

His post also said, “I’ve been touring since I was 15 and to be honest it’s always been difficult to be on the road away from friends and family. After a few years off the road, I felt like I was ready to dive back in, but that decision was premature and unfortunately the toll of the road and the pressure has caught up to me and I’ve hit a breaking point.”

Shows in St Paul, Omaha, St Louis and other cities are also postponed.

As of now, the tour is set to resume July 31 in Toronto. A list of schedule tour dates is on his official website.

“As soon as there are more updates I promise I will let you know,” his post said.

Shawn Mendes Announces Return to Stage After Canceling Tour to Prioritize Mental Health

Shawn mendes announced he will be headlining rock in rio in september after a two-year hiatus from the stage for his mental health..

There's nothing holding Shawn Mendes back now.

In fact, the "Treat You Better" singer shared that after a two year break from performing to focus on his mental health he will be returning to the stage.

"It's been a really long time since I last played live and I'm so excited to share that I'll be headlining Rock In Rio on Sept 22," Shawn wrote in a March 7 Instagram post . "I've missed being on stage and seeing you all in person so much!"

And the 25-year-old—who last released his last album Wonder in 2020 and has dropped a few singles in the interim—also teased the gig would involve new music.

"I've also been working on a new album and I can't wait to play these new songs live for you," he added. "See you there. Eu te amo!!!!"

So far, the Rock In Rio line up also includes stars like Ed Sheeran , Katy Perry , Travis Scott and One Republic . And while his return to stage is exciting—this is not Shawn's first time performing at the festival, as he also had a 2017 slot in the Brazil-based concert series.

Still, fans of the "Stitches" singer, who said in January he's working on accepting the "highs and lows of life" concerning his mental health, will be delighted to hear this news after a relatively quiet few years for him. In 2022, Shawn canceled the remainder of his Wonder World Tour due to the stress of post-pandemic touring life.

"I started this tour excited to finally get back to playing live after a long break due to the pandemic, but the reality is I was not at all ready for how difficult touring would be after this time away," the 25-year-old wrote in a statement at the time . "I promise I will be back as soon as I take the right time to heal."

Throughout his career, Shawn has been candid on his mental health journey, particularly in his 2020 Shawn Mendes: In Wonder Netflix documentary, and he's expressed gratitude for the fans who've remained in his corner.

"I'm also really grateful for all the people that were so accepting and loving and kind and understanding," he told the Wall Street Journal  in 2022. "It just really made me see how culture is really starting to get to a place where mental health is really becoming a priority."

Shawn Mendes plays show with Ed Sheeran, first since time off for mental health

shawn mendes fechas tour

Shawn Mendes played his first show since taking time off for mental health reasons last weekend – and fans went wild.

The singer, originally from outside Toronto, joined Ed Sheeran at his Toronto arena tour stop to play Mendes' "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back" and Sheeran's "Lego House."

Sheeran celebrated their collaboration with a sweet video on Instagram of the two performing together.

"What a moment," the "Shape of You" singer wrote. "Me and  @shawnmendes  on stage in his home town. Wish I could bottle the feeling and keep opening it to feel that buzz again, so much fun. Thank you for singing with me man, so good to have you back."

Sheeran's video also showed fans screaming and cheering after the performance.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

"What a reaction! I've had that three times in my life at gigs," Sheeran said after a clip of the audience response. "Paolo Nutini in Glasgow, Stormzy in London, and now Shawn Mendes."

It's been "a year and a half," Mendes added in the video, since the "Stitches" singer has been on stage.

"I started shaking," he said. "I feel a bit speechless about it to be honest right now."

Shawn Mendes releases new climate change single 'What the Hell Are We Dying For?'

Mendes also released his first new music this month with a song inspired by the wildfires that tore through the singer's native Canada.

The song, "What the Hell Are We Dying For?" was released on June 9. It featured a promotional photo that appeared to show the orange haze that covered parts of the East Coast earlier in June.

Mendes shared on Instagram that he wrote the song only a day before its release. "Started writing this song yesterday morning with my friends in upstate New York & finished it only a few hours ago…felt important to me to share with you guys in real time," the star posted.

The singer also added that he would be donating to the Canadian Red Cross, and shared a donation link with fans.

Why did Shawn Mendes take time off?

After postponing three weeks of shows  to focus on his mental health , Shawn Mendes announced last summer that  he would be canceling his world tour , which would have traveled across North America and Europe through 2023.

"I started this tour excited to finally get back to playing live after a long break due to the pandemic, but the reality is  I was not at all ready for how difficult touring would be  after this time away," Mendes shared on Instagram last year.

"After speaking with my team and working with an incredible group of health professionals, it has become more clear that I need to take the time I've never taken personally, to ground myself and come back stronger," he added.

While Mendes said he has "to put my health as my first priority," he emphasized that "this doesn't mean I won't be making new music, and I can't wait to see you on tour in the future."

"I know you all have been waiting so long to see these shows, and it breaks my heart to tell you this but I promise that I will be back as soon as I've taken the right time to heal," the star said.

Shawn Mendes Performs Live For First Time Since Taking Mental Health Hiatus

Curtis M. Wong

Senior Culture Reporter, HuffPost

shawn mendes fechas tour

Shawn Mendes made an unexpected appearance at Ed Sheeran’s Toronto concert Saturday, marking the Canadian singer-songwriter’s first time performing before a live audience in more than a year.

Mendes emerged onstage at the Rogers Centre just as Sheeran began playing the 2011 single, “Lego House.” The two musicians then segued into a rollicking rendition of Mendes’ 2017 smash, “There’s Nothin’ Holding Me Back,” performed in duet.

Sheeran is currently touring in support of his latest album, “Subtract,” released last month. He captured the moment for posterity with a short video on Instagram.

“Wish I could bottle the feeling and keep opening it to feel that buzz again, so much fun,” he wrote in the caption. “Thank you for singing with me man, so good to have you back.”

In the footage, Mendes revealed that Saturday’s performance with Sheeran marked his first time onstage in “a year and a half.”

“I feel a bit speechless about it to be honest right now,” he said. “Dude, I feel insane. I feel crazy.”

Watch a clip of Shawn Mendes and Ed Sheeran performing in Toronto below.

The appearance was particularly noteworthy, as Mendes cut his 2022 Wonder: The World Tour short after just seven performances, citing a need for a mental health break.

“I started this tour excited to finally get back to playing live after a long break due to the pandemic, but the reality is I was not at all ready for how difficult touring would be after this time away,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “After speaking more with my team and working with an incredible group of health professionals, it has become more clear that I need to take the time I’ve never taken personally to ground myself and come back stronger.”

In a February interview with The Wall Street Journal , Mendes opened up about continuing to “work to help myself and heal” after taking time off the road.

“I think the last year and a half has been the most eye-opening and growing and beautiful and just healing process of my life,” he said. “I’m also really grateful for all the people that were so accepting and loving and kind and understanding.”

Mendes has kept a low profile for much of 2023 thus far, despite appearing to briefly rekindle his relationship with ex-girlfriend Camila Cabello.

However, it seems that his full-time return to music may be imminent. Earlier this month, he unveiled a new single, “ What The Hell Are We Dying For? ,” inspired by the wildfires that have devastated parts of his native Canada.
