I have a degree of bias as I frequent the establishment on a regular basis, but last night the team exceeded themselves by providing an innovative menu which full lived up to our expectations in taste, quality, service and value to money. Thanks very much to Nicky and the crew! Best711 (Trip Advisor)
Went to North Down House’s TT Bistro for lunch today, portion size and value for money both excellent. Children are always made welcome and given colouring pencils and paper on arrival to keep them entertained! Claire W (Tripadvisor)

“Early Bird Menu TT” Review of TT Bistro

DSC_0006-01_large.jpg

I have been at the TT hundreds of times now infact my first visit was in 1980.We booked a table for 615pm tonight and I have to say that the service and food were outstanding this evening.the staff were efficient and as friendly as always and although in the past the food was slow in coming out tonight it could not be faulted.it was quiet busy and even though there were only 3 staff members everything was 1st class!the pavlova was the best decorated pavlova we had ever seen so thankyou for a very enjoyable evening!

This property used to be known as the Tourist Trophy Inn and now re named North Down House with suitable refurbishment. Entrance is via a darkly lit door, then access to the restaurant is by steep and narrow stairs. Once inside however the interior is bright and spacious with a lively atmosphere with musical entertainment on some occasions. Each of us order steak which was cooked to perfection and was both tender and tasty. Food was of a very high standard and service was swift, friendly and efficient. Portions were generous, so much so that we were unable to manage dessert! Would not hesitate to return.

Really lovely food with an interesting menu. Staff very friendly and entertainment and surroundings very good. Will be back.

One of the hidden gems in County Downs expanding pub restaurant services, the North Down House or T.T. as it's otherwise known has really stepped up to mark... The food was wonderful and flavoursome from starter main to sweets, even the coffee is great! the waiter service also on par with a very attentive staff and all this at a very reasonable price...we are definitely going to be regulars, looking forward to calling in again very soon.

Held a family meal (8 guests) at North Down House (TT Lounge). Staff were great, food excellent, at a good price for 2 course meal, will return again.

The 'home of great taste', located on the west of the borough, Comber Town  is renowned for coffee, cycling, craft and fine cuisine.

Comber Greenway

Comber can be accessed via the Comber Greenway, a seven mile, traffic free section of the National Cycle Network. The cycle path starts in Belfast and finishes in Comber , providing views of Stormont Estate and Scrabo Tower along the way. The current path of the Greenway was originally used as the route for the Belfast and County Down Railway. The railway was in use from the 1850s to 1950.

Comber Farmers' Market

Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries Comber grew as a market town with many family run businesses. The town holds an award winning Farmers Market on the first Thursday of every month. The market has built up a strong reputation for selling fresh, seasonal, award winning food and plant products. With 26 artisan food stalls regularly taking part, you will certainly want to visit.

Comber Earlies

After achieving EU Protected Geographical Indication status in 2012, the Comber potato (Comber Earlies) became a global brand.  The humble spud is now celebrated annually at the Comber Earlies Food Festival in June, together with the Comber Earlies Growers.

Comber Attractions

Places to visit in the town centre include the beautiful St Mary's Church. The church dates back to 1840s and has many interesting memorials within it, as well as some beautiful examples of stained glass. Some of the stained glass depicts scenes from the history of Comber and surrounding area.

Also situated in Comber square is a large statue of local hero, Major General Rollo Gillespie. It was erected to commemorate his heroic exploits in India during the 19th century.

The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) Castle Espie is situated three miles south of Comber . The three time award winning wetland provides an early wintering site for almost the entire Nearctic population of Brent geese. The reserve has the largest collection of ducks, geese and swans in Ireland. Nature walks around the centre allow visitors to get close to the wild birds while taking in the beautiful scenery.

Homegrown talent

Comber is famous for being the birthplace of Thomas Andrews, the designer of the RMS Titanic. He died in the sinking of the Titanic in 1912.

“Wel Worth a visit” Review of TT Bistro

Was given some strong recommendations about the TT from some Comber locals. Its OK, but I don't share their level of enthusiasm. Service was on the low side of average with experience sadly lacking in the people that were dealing with our table. We had a variety of dishes and all were good and basic food with no pretence at anything else. It may be that I was expecting more given the promotion by my friends - I will go back as the TT is good value uncomplicated basic food. Probably a good family location for a meal out.

It's been a long time since we took time since we had regular lunches here with two of our grandchildren who were very fond of the place. It went a bit downhill some years ago but I am delighted to say that our recent meal was a great experience. The TT (Tourist Trophy) lounge was busy, the food and service excellent and management seem to have a plans for further improvement given the busy renovation work going on when we were there.

We've never had a bad meal in the TT. Friends & family all love it, great food served by friendly & attentive staff.

For the 3rd year we went to the TT for the New Year's Eve . Once again Nicky and his team put on a fantastic evening. Good choice of starters, main courses and desserts, and again the young magician totally held us captive. The staff were very attentive and are a credit to Nicky. The evening was rounded off with a disco that catered for all age groups and the DJ actually played the tracks requested. Nicky has brought the TT back to its glory days of a few years ago and I am sure it will continue.
