Morrissey finally returns to belgium! British singer-songwriter Morrissey gained fame as co-founder and frontman of British rockband ‘The Smiths’ and had been a successful solo artist for 35 years. He has enjoyed 16 albums in the UK Top Ten and 9 Top Ten-albums with his former group ‘The Smiths’, of which he was a singer and lyricist for 6 years. In the U.S., Morrissey has had two Top Ten albums, and eight Top 20 albums. 

Morrissey status as a living legend is only confirmed by his many songs that got covered by several major artists and groups including David Bowie, Nancy Sinatra, the Killers, Marianne Faithfull, Chrissie Hynde, My Chemical Romance, Thelma Houston and Christy Moore . In addition, in 1991 he sold out the Hollywood Bowl twice in such a short time that he even broke the previous record held by The Beatles. In 2006, his status as a music icon was once again confirmed by the BBC viewers, who unanimously voted him "The second Greatest Living British Icon” . 

For the first time in 8 years, Morrissey will finally return to Belgium for 2 exclusive concerts! Don’t miss his long-awaited comeback to our country: On Wednesday, March 15th at De Stadsschouwburg in Antwerp (on sale at  www.gracialive.be ) and on Thursday, March 16th at Bozar in Brussels.

Voor het eerst in 8 jaar komt Morrissey naar België voor twee exclusieve concerten:

• Op 15 maart 2023 in de Stadsschouwburg in Antwerpen 
• Op 16 maart 2023 in de Bozar in Brussel

De ticketverkoop gaat van start op vrijdag 13 januari om 10u.

De  Britse singer-songwriter Morrissey  werd bekend als oprichter en frontman van Britse rockband ‘ The Smiths ’ en is intussen al 35 jaar  een succesvol soloartiest . Hij heeft maar liefst 16 albums in de Britse Top 10 op zijn naam staan, alsook 9 Top 10-albums samen met ‘ The Smiths’.  Daarnaast heeft hij ook in de VS tweemaal een Top 10 én achtmaal een Top 20 album.

Dat Morrissey een levende legende is, wordt onder meer bevestigd door zijn vele nummers die al gecoverd werden door  verschillende grote artiesten en groepen waaronder David Bowie, Nancy Sinatra, the Killers, Marianne Faithfull, Chrissie Hynde, My Chemical Romance, Thelma Houston en Christy Moore .

Daarnaast verkocht hij in 1991 maar liefst tweemaal the Hollywood Bowl uit in zo een korte tijd, dat hij zelfs het eerdere record brak dat op naam stond van The Beatles. In 2006 werd zijn status als muziekicoon nog maar eens bevestigd door de BBC-kijkers, die hem unaniem verkozen tot ‘ tweede Grootste Levende Britse Icoon’.

The former Smiths frontman has announced a date at London's Eventim Apollo as part of his 2023 European tour.

Morrissey has announced fresh dates for 2023, which includes a stop in his native England.

The former Smiths frontman will play a headline show at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London this Spring and tickets go on sale this week.

The controversial figure will also embark on European dates, which see him visit the likes of Paris, Lyon and Antwerp.

Morrissey Announces Europe Tour Dates For 2023

The former Smiths frontman will perform a total of seven shows throughout Europe in March this year.

Ex-Smiths frontman Morrissey has just announced seven upcoming Europe shows, with a headline concert taking place at London’s Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith. Additional tour stops include venues in Paris, Lyon, Strasbourg, Antwerp and Brussels. The exact dates can be found on the schedule below.

Tickets will go on sale upcoming Friday, January 13 th at 10 AM (GMT) and can be purchased here .

Zo lang is het geleden dat Morrissey 40-jarigen (en jonger/ouder) heeft laten wenen van geluk in een uitverkochte Ancienne Belgique.

Maar nu komt de frontman van The Smiths eindelijk terug voor twee shows op Belgische bodem!

Markeer 15 en 16 maart alvast in jullie agenda, want dan doet hij de Stadsschouwburg in Antwerpen en de Bozar in Brussel aan.

Hij maakte het nieuws zelf bekend op zijn Instagrampagina:

De fans van Moz gaan wel diep in hun buidel moeten tasten, want de tickets gaan tussen 95 euro, 110 euro en 125 euro. Voor zij die het er toch voor over hebben: zij kunnen kaarten kopen vanaf nu vrijdag 13 januari om 10 uur via deze weg .

Morrissey is heading out on tour this fall.

The iconic singer and songwriter will begin his “40 Years of Morrissey Tour” on Oct. 8 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and will wrap up on Oct. 25 in New York City .

He will be performing shows in New York City on Oct. 21 , 22 , 24 and 25 .

If you want to catch the former Smiths frontman live, fans can find tickets on Ticketmaster .

Fans of Morrissey can also purchase tickets on tickets on StubHub , Vivid Seats , TicketNetwork , TicketCity and MegaSeats .
