The passengers and crew cruise through Japan. Photographer Lila Pearsell (Heather Thomas) is prejudiced toward the Japanese, because her father was crippled in World War 2. She meets businessman Bud O'Hara (Tony Danza) and falls for him, without knowing that his father ( James Shigeta ) is Japanese. Martha Chambers (Mariette Hartley), a teacher of Asian history, poses as a geisha girl named Myoshi, to get to know Capt. Merrill Stubing (Gavin MacLeod) better. Dockworker Barney Gordon (Ted Knight) and his wife Gladys (Rita Moreno) are showing off the five million dollars, they won in a lottery, and making the crew uncomfortable. A Japanese businessman pays for widowed Celia Hoffman (Jean Marsh) and her daughter Joanie (Nancy Morgan) to travel to Japan, because they own some embroidered silk artwork that contains one third of a treasure map. Along the way, the two women befriend Harvey Willis (Harvey Korman) and Ben Cummins (John Ritter), who may own the other pieces of the map.

Martha, a teacher of Asian history, impersonates a geisha to be near Merrill. Lottery winners Barney and Gladys continue showing off their lottery winnings.

On a Japanese cruise, an Asian history teacher (Mariette Hartley) impersonates a geisha, in order to stay near the Captain (Gavin MacLeod); the lottery winners (Ted Knight and Rita Moreno) are making the crew's lives uncomfortable.

Problems [ edit ]

• Tony Danza is half Japanese? Better keep that a secret from the girlfriend.
• Kimono Cosplay, including a terrible accent.
• Gopher making fun of pronunciations (at least Isaac tries)
• WWII references.
• Capt. Stubbing's dream has them playing Japanese characters with ridiculous accents.
• Ah, do people really fall in love and ask people to get married in a couple days on a cruise?
• The scenes are really in Japan, I guess we can give them that.

“Love … exciting and new…come aboard … we’re expecting you.” A special themed “Love Boat” cruise is setting a course for adventure onboard Majestic Princess with the original ensemble cast, who will celebrate their friend and everyone’s favorite cruise ship Captain Stubing with a tribute to Actor Gavin MacLeod. This seven-day cruise sails roundtrip from the Port of Los Angeles (San Pedro) to the Mexican Riviera, February 26-March 5, 2022

Hosted by Princess Cruises Celebrations Ambassador Jill Whelan (Vicki Stubing), who will be joined by fellow “Love Boat” cast members Cynthia Lauren Tewes (Julie McCoy), Bernie Kopell (Doc), Fred Grandy (Gopher) and Ted Lange (Isaac). Together, they will share their favorite memories from the show, participate in various guest activities and celebrate the late Gavin MacLeod, who served as brand ambassador for Princess Cruises for more than 35 years until his passing in May 2021, at the age of 90.

The voyage will be underway on MacLeod’s birthday – February 28 – and sails on the cruise line’s signature Mexican Riviera itinerary that was prominently featured during the TV show’s 10-year-run from 1977-1986, where Princess cruise ships served as the ocean-going co-star of the series. Guests will enjoy port visits to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas.

“Reuniting with the cast for this very special themed ‘Love Boat’ cruise and celebrating the show’s lasting impact with guests is sure to be nostalgic, fun and incredibly memorable,” said Jill Whelan, Celebrations Ambassador for Princess Cruises. “While we always love to connect with fans this cruise will be extra special because we will also celebrate the life and career of Gavin, our fearless leader, who not only played my dad on TV but was also a true father figure to me beyond the show.”

Separated into bedroom and living areas, the cabins of this class boast an exceptional room size. Open the wide windows for access to your private balcony at any time, allowing you to experience the ship’s sailing from the comfort of your own luxurious stateroom.

Junior Suite Pair Type

The living area equipped with a minibar is the perfect place to relax. Sit on the low-backed sofa with a drink in hand while looking out at the vast ocean, or step outside to the balcony and enjoy the panoramic view .

Balcony Class Cabin Pair Type, Single Type

These airy balcony cabins are double rooms, which can be used for either single or two persons. The openness lets in abundant natural light and offers a pleasant stay to its occupants.
