Unclear if "to-be-announced" is today or at some point later for the U.S. dates — check back for more information as it becomes available!

Full release, via brucespringsteen.net :

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will mark their return to the road in early February, 2023 with a string of to-be-announced US arena dates, followed by European stadium shows kicking off on April 28th in Barcelona and a second North American tour leg starting in August.

Said Springsteen: “After six years, I’m looking forward to seeing our great and loyal fans next year. And I’m looking forward to once again sharing the stage with the legendary E Street Band. See you out there, next year — and beyond.”

The planned European stops are Barcelona, Dublin, Paris, Ferrara, Rome, Amsterdam, Landgraaf, Zurich, Düsseldorf, Gothenburg, Oslo, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Vienna, Munich and Monza. Additional cities and shows in the UK and Belgium will be announced at a later date.

These 2023 dates will mark the first live shows for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band since the conclusion of their 14-month, worldwide The River Tour in Australia in February, 2017. The River Tour was named 2016’s top global tour by both Billboard and Pollstar.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band last reconnected to perform on Saturday Night Live in December 2020, where they launched live versions of two songs from their most recent studio album ‘Letter To You’ (Columbia Records), which reached #1 in eleven countries and marked the band’s first time recording live together in decades. Last year, Springsteen unveiled his never-before-released “The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concerts” film, collaborated with President Barack Obama on the book ‘Renegades: Born In The USA’ and reprised his record setting show ‘Springsteen On Broadway’ to help reopen New York City theaters last summer.

The E Street Band’s members are: Roy Bittan – piano, synthesizer; Nils Lofgren – guitar, vocals; Patti Scialfa – guitar, vocals; Garry Tallent – bass guitar; Stevie Van Zandt – guitar, vocals; and Max Weinberg – drums; with Soozie Tyrell – violin, guitar, vocals; Jake Clemons – saxophone; and Charlie Giordano – keyboards.

What Is Bruce Springsteen’s Setlist Of Songs For The 2023 Tour?

Lexi Lane

Bruce Springsteen kicked off his 2023 tour with the E Street Band this week, and fans who have upcoming tickets might be wondering what songs they should be prepared to hear. Thankfully, this is the right spot.

During the opening performance in Tampa, he played a number of live debuts with his band , including 2020’s “Letter To You” and “House Of A Thousand Guitars.”

They also covered a bunch of songs, from The Commodores’ “Nightshift” to Patti Smith’s “Because The Night” — and some other special surprises, via Setlist.fm .

While it’s unclear if he’ll keep the same setlist for every city, you can find Springsteen’s opening show song choices below as an idea.

The Other Eras Tour: 9 Thoughts on Bruce Springsteen at Madison Square Garden

By Brian Hiatt

Brian Hiatt

After a two-hour-plus main set that slammed home themes of mortality and impermanence and the way of all flesh, Bruce Springsteen reemerged on Madison Square Garden’s stage Saturday night, April 1, for his usual lengthy encore, and announced “something special for New York City.” He pointed over at Soozie Tyrell, who began a dead-on recreation of one of rock’s few canonical violin melodies, over piano from all-time-great arpeggio purveyor Roy Bittan. They eased the E Street Band into the 11-minute-long, 48-year-old mini-rock-opera “Jungleland,” played and sung with enough muscle and drama and soaring perfection to momentarily make the rest of the show’s messages seem like a lie. Death? Impossible. Decline? Not tonight.

Editor’s picks

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

Still, he could mix it up a bit more. Besides the “Jungleland” addition, there is one near-wildcard slot in the setlist, filled at MSG with his taut-as-ever, if overused over the years, reworking of Jimmy Cliff’s “Trapped” (at the previous stop on the tour, it was “Darkness on the Edge of Town” in that slot, which would’ve been more welcome). In the actual Eras Tour, Taylor Swift has a truly rotating song slot, offering a chance to slip the deepest of cuts into the set every night. With Springsteen’s vast catalog, including the entire, as-yet-unplayed-before-a-paying-audience Western Stars album from 2019 (that title track, one of his best-ever songs, should kill live), slipping in one real obscurity every night certainly couldn’t hurt. There’s other songs, too, including “Johnny 99,” that seem eminently swappable on any given night.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Will Chronicle Tour Prep in 'Road Diary' Documentary

Bruce springsteen and the e street band are playing on the beach in asbury park. here's how it happened, bruce springsteen plots return to the road in spring 2024.

Max Weinberg, who has the greatest physical challenge of anyone in the band as a 71-year-old arena-rock drummer, has been preparing for this tour practically since the last one ended in 2017, and his feel, groove, and sense of time seemed subtler than ever. A shades-wearing Garry Tallent was, as always, impossibly locked into Weinberg’s kick drum, even as the arena’s inevitable muddiness sometimes meant he was more felt than heard. It’s always fun to figure out what parts Nils Lofgren — now a simultaneous Crazy Horse member and E Streeter — is adding to the mix, from a fancy rhythm guitar-bit on “No Surrender” to a chops-enhanced version of a guitar break originated by Springsteen on “Rosalita.”

This tour’s extra horns and singers only enhanced the show — with just a couple of exceptions. The horn section, in particular, is most welcome when it’s doing something interesting, which is often, as on the New Orleans breaks of “Johnny 99,” on the twin songs from The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle , and of course “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out.” It only feels superfluous when the players are roped into recapitulating, and almost overpowering, signature riffs during two encore hits, “Dancing in the Dark” and “Glory Days.”

Jake Clemons is a miracle. Springsteen’s songs evoked ghosts throughout the evening, and Clemons invoked one just in his playing and presence. His big-lunged tenor sax tone has always had an uncanny resemblance to his late uncle Clarence Clemons’ otherwise singular sound. But at the Garden, after more than a decade in the band, Jake sounded more like his late predecessor than ever, even as, at age 43, he continued to bring his own youthful-by-E-Street standards energy to the stage. From the start, the other 21st-century replacement for a departed E Streeter, skilled keyboardist Charlie Giordano, has seemed less wedded to Danny Federici’s organ parts. But then again, Federici himself was rarely wedded to his own studio parts on any given night.

Even if some of the crowd had trouble staying in the moment, Springsteen never did.  He still shut his eyes in utter immersion as he sang “Badlands” for the 1,229th time, and still drew energy from the audience in some eerie yet very real way. (Yes, that number is correct, per Brucebase .) He still has some surprises left on guitar, with his solo on “Kitty’s Back” noticeably straying from his usual harmonic vocabulary to match his horn players’ more adventurous note choices. And his voice continues to do that weird thing where it somehow sounds stronger towards the end of the show than at the beginning.

It’s “sways,” damn it. Newly aware of the mildly ludicrous debate over whether Mary’s dress sways or waves on “Thunder Road,” Springsteen is now singing “sways” with exaggerated clarity and a huge smile.

Fans were delayed but not denied their visit from The Boss Tuesday night (March 19) in Phoenix as Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band relaunched their world tour after a six-month break.

Springsteen was originally slated to play the Arizona date on Nov. 30 last year, but it was one of 29 shows postponed after he came off the road in early September for treatment for peptic ulcer disease .

He made no reference to his health troubles (which were clearly in his past, given his extreme energy on stage) until the closing tune of the 29-song set, when he apologized for inconveniencing anyone by having to move the show, explaining, “I had a motherf**cker of a bellyache.”

The 2 hour 45 minute concert, which started right at 7:30pm , was a rollicking, high-energy affair. Gone are tour mainstays from the earlier leg, such as the funky “The E Street Shuffle” and the jazzy 7-minute “Kitty’s Back” (both from 1973’s The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle ), and six songs from Springsteen’s last album of original material, 2020’s Letter to You (Tuesday’s show was down to four from that set), replaced with tunes that make for a fast-paced, non-stop thrill ride of a show.

Springsteen will spend the rest of the year on the road, with more than 50 dates on the 2024 docket, including a European leg that starts in Cardiff, Wales in May and includes multiple stadium shows in cities like Milan, Madrid and Barcelona, before he returns stateside in August for stadium shows.

Below is the setlist for Phoenix’s opening night of the new leg. The tour resumes Friday  (March 22) night in Las Vegas.  For a deeper dive, go here .

Ronan McGreevy's face

Bruce Springsteen is on the home stretch of his four-date Irish tour, having enthralled, delighted and surprised thousands and thousands of fans in Belfast on Thursday of last week and Nowlan Park, Kilkenny, on Sunday. Some 40,000 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork on Thursday night were even treated to a rendition of Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town . Springsteen finished his set on a rainy night in Cork with a moving version of The Pogues’ Rainy Night in Soho, in tribute to the late Shane MacGowan .

He plays the final concert of the tour at Croke Park in Dublin on Sunday, May 19th. The concert be a particular achievement for the The Boss: it will mark one million in ticket sales since his first concert in the country in 1985 at Slane Castle, Co Meath.

In a five-star review Stuart Bailie described the night in Belfast as “an immense show” and dedicated to lost friends and, as Springsteen put it, “things that leave us, and what remains”. For anyone heading to Cork on Thursday, here’s what you need to know.

In Nowlan Park last Sunday, fans praised a “phenomenal evening” which included a touching tribute to Shane MacGowan. Springsteen opened the show with a cover version of The Pogues’s Rainy Night in Soho, in memory of MacGowan, who died in November 2023.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Kick Off First Tour in Six Years: Video + Setlist

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band launched their first tour in six years with a 28-song set at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida on Wednesday. (Read our review of the show here .)

Kicking off with “No Surrender,” Springsteen and the band played a career-spanning set that mixed greatest hits with material from their most recent album, 2020’s Letter to You . Among the songs performed included “Prove It All Night,” “The Promised Land,” “Candy’s Room,” “The E Street Shuffle,” “Because the Night,” and “The Rising.” To close the evening, the E Street Band played a seven-song encore featuring “Born to Run,” “Rosalita,” “Dancing in the Dark,” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,” before the band gave way to Springsteen for a solo acoustic performance of “I’ll See You in My Dreams.” Watch fan-captured video of the show and see the full setlist below.

Springsteen and the E Street Band will tour the US through the middle of April before heading overseas for shows in the UK and Europe. Tickets are available via Stubhub .

‘Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’ Documentary Film to Launch on Hulu and Disney+ this October

Hulu and Disney+ today announced that they will launch Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band in October of this year. An exact launch date is forthcoming.

Springsteen and The E Street Band offer the most in-depth look ever at the creation of their legendary live performances in the new documentary featuring unprecedented, behind-the-scenes access to their 2023-2024 world tour.

Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band opens a new door to Springsteen’s creative process for fans around the world, sharing fly-on-the-wall footage of band rehearsals and special moments backstage — as well as hearing from Springsteen himself.

These conversations follow Springsteen closely as he develops the story he wants to tell with this tour’s setlist — interspersed with rare archival clips of The E Street Band, underscoring themes of life, loss, mortality and community. In this way, it serves as an essential and never-before-seen chapter in an autobiographical series spanning Springsteen’s memoir Born to Run , Springsteen on Broadway , and the films Western Stars and Letter to You .

The film was directed by Springsteen’s longtime collaborator, Emmy ® and GRAMMY ® Award winner Thom Zimny ( Western Stars , The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash , Springsteen on Broadway , Willie Nelson & Family , Sly ), and produced by Zimny, Jon Landau, Bruce Springsteen, Adrienne Gerard and Sean Stuart.

The film begins with a one-of-a-kind look at the band’s preparation process, following them from their earliest rehearsals in Red Bank, New Jersey, to performances for tens-of-thousands across continents. All the while, fans get the chance to experience professionally shot footage from the 2023-2024 tour for the first time ever — in addition to hearing firsthand from band members about performing on stage with Springsteen and how they keep the magic of The E Street Band as potent as ever.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band capped the first 2024 leg of their world tour in April; a cross-country U.S. run that brought surprise guests, blistering three-hour shows and setlist rarities (totaling 60 different songs through 11 performances). The band is in the midst of playing 25 shows throughout Europe this spring and summer — after last year’s European tour sold 1.6 million tickets — and will return to North America for more dates from August through late November.

Watch Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Cover ‘A Rainy Night in Soho' in Ireland

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band kicked off their Sunday night set in Kilkenny, Ireland, by covering the 1986 Pogues classic "A Right Night in Soho" as a tribute to the late Shane MacGowan. It marked the first time in their history they covered a Pogues song.

When MacGowan died in November 2023, Springsteen penned a tribute. "Shane was one of my all-time favorite writers," he wrote. "The passion and deep intensity of his music and lyrics is unmatched by all but the very best in the rock and roll canon. I was fortunate to spend a little time with Shane and his lovely wife Victoria the last time we were in Dublin. He was very ill, but still beautifully present in his heart and spirit. His music is timeless and eternal. I don't know about the rest of us, but they'll be singing Shane's songs 100 years from now."

Prior to the official start of the show, Springsteen took the stage alone at 5:05 pm to reward "the early birds" with his first performance of 1995's "This Hard Land" since 2018. There were no surprises on the scale of "A Rainy Night in Soho" and "This Hard Land" throughout the rest of the night, but the group did break out tour rarities "Adam Raised a Cain," "Seeds," "If I Was the Priest," and "Land of Hope and Dreams."

The printed setlist featured the High Hopes song "Frankie Fell in Love," which hadn't been played since 2015 when Springsteen guested at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, New Jersey, with Joe Grushecky. He decided not to play it, but it's a strong sign that it could be coming at a future show. Also on the printed setlist was "You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)," which hasn't been heard since 2017.

The Springsteen tour continues May 16 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork, Ireland, and wraps up July 27 at Wembley Stadium in London, England. An American leg begins on August 15 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It ends on November 22 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
