• The arts are celebrated across the state — From works of world masters to remarkable folk-art offerings, patrons of the visual arts will find ample offerings. The North Carolina Museum of Art (Raleigh), the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art (Charlotte) and the Asheville Art Museum are among more than a dozen world-class art museums. Visit the John C. Campbell Folk School, in Brasstown or American Folk Art or the Folk Art Center in Asheville for local works. The music scene in North Carolina is vibrant and diverse, as evidenced by the many annual festivals here, from Merlefest and the North Carolina Folk Festival to Pickin' In The Pines . There's also an abundance of classical music offerings, with symphonic, orchestral and operatic offerings in Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Raleigh, Asheville and other cities.
• It's the starting point of the Blue Ridge Parkway — This national treasure (and National Park) starts in rural Swaim County, about an hour west of Asheville, and runs through the state and into Virginia. There are plenty of trails along the Parkway, and breathtaking scenery mile after mile. Daniel Boone's Trace, the path the famed frontiersman took West, crosses the Parkway at Mile 285.1. At Mile 361.2, you can get a glimpse of an 800 foot waterfall from an overlook alongside the Parkway. There are vineyards, great restaurants, farmers' markets, inns and a wide array of local craft merchants along the Parkway.
• It's the craft beer center of the universe!! — North Carolina has long been a leader in the craft beer movement. Asheville alone has more than 25 craft breweries and Raleigh has been listed among the top five craft beer cities in the United States. In fact, the Tar Heel State has more than 300 craft breweries, the most of any Southern state. Most of the breweries have their own tours or you can book a multi-day excursion to sample some of the best beers in the world.
• There are things you can only see or do in North Carolina — In Asheville, you can visit the Biltmore, the largest private residence ever built. The 178,000 plus square foot structure, with 250 rooms as well as active stables, is now a museum with daily admission and tours. Visit the site where legendary pirate Blackbeard was killed in 1718. Stop by Seagrove, the self-proclaimed "pottery capital of the world." Visit the "Lost Colony of Roanoke," where a colony of more than 40 settlers disappeared between 1585 and 1590. Walk the fields at Kitty Hawk, where the Wright brothers had their first controlled flight in 1903.

May 6 – 11, 2024 – holland, michigan, holland tulip festival *****.

Join us as we head to Holland, Michigan for the 95th Tulip Festival, where millions of tulips will be in full bloom.

On the way, we visit Grand Rapids,stopping at the Gerald Ford Presidential Library and Museum.

Once in Holland, we will visit the Windmill Island, and a 200-year-old Dutch Windmill, surrounded by thousands of tulips. We will also tour the Dexlomp Wooden Shoe and Delft Factory, which offers wooden shoes and Delft Art. We will be entertained by a Dutch dance group and visit Veldheer Tulip Farm.

There will be additonal stops on the return trip home. It promises to be a wonderful trip!

June 19 – 23, 2024  — Niagara Falls, Canada

Niagara falls *****.

Join us as we travel to one of the greatest vacation spots in the world!

After arriving, we will have a driving tour of the Niagara School of Horticulture, the Hydro Electric Plant, and visit the famous Floral Clock. In the afternoon, we will take the Journey Behind the Falls Tunnel Tour and will board the cruise boat for the ride of a lifetime to the base of the falls.

The next morning, we will head to Hershey, Pennsylvania, where we will stay overnight. We will visit Hershey Chocolate World before traveling home.

It will be a fun-filled and memorable trip that you won’t want to miss.

July 8 – 21, 2024

The out west tour, yellowstone, mt. rushmore, and dakota badlands featuring: jackson hole and pikes peak.

Pack your western wear, because we are going to the heart and soul of the American West.

We will be making lots of awesome memory-making stops on the way out west and on the return trip, including:

Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Badlands National Park in South Dakota, Mt. Rushmore, Buffalo Bill Heritage Center and Museum, Yellowstone National Park featuring Old Faithful, Teton National Forest, U.S. Air Force Academy, Pikes Peak, Gateway Arch in St. Louis and many more.

This will be a spectacular trip with so many fun activities planned. We hope you’ll join us for the adventure!

August 10 – 17, 2024 — Mackinac Island, MI

This trip is packed with so many fun and memorable stops, that you definitely want to be a part of this adventure.

We will be visiting Virginia’s Historic Shot Tower, the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, take a riverboat cruise through the locks in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, tour White Fish Point, the oldest Lighthouse on Lake Superior, stay at the breathtaking Grand Hotel, take horse carriage rides, and visit Bonner’s Christmas Wonderland on our return trip.

Drivers go through various FREE training classes, as well as on-the-job and continual training. No CDL? No Problem. We offer assistance and training for those wanting to get their CDLs also.

Nancy and Dwight Thompson started Holiday Tours, Inc. in 1978, offering local people the opportunity to travel in North America on deluxe tours at an affordable price. In 1978, approximately 500 people signed up on our group tours.

Today, Holiday operates more than 70 motorcoaches and has more than 200 employees. This past year, over 200,000 people travelled with us.

From day one, Holiday has strived to offer customers the best possible value while maintaining an unsurpassed level of service. All the planning done in the office, is turned over to our motorcoach drivers who go out of their way to see that each and every tour is carried out according the Holiday's plans.

Located in Randleman, North Carolina, we have more than 12,000 square feet of office space and driver bunk rooms, approximately 12,000 square feet of maintenance facilities, and ample parking for all drivers and many customers.
