Manchester United is arguably the most successful football club in the world. All football fans, whether or not they support United, will find a visit to the Manchester United Museum and the Old Trafford Stadium Tour an interesting experience.

The complete visitor experience at Old Trafford combines a visit to the Manchester United Museum and the Stadium Tour. It’s possible to visit just the museum at a cheaper price but most opt for the full package.

Highlights of the Stadium Tour include the players’ dressing room, a walk down the players’ tunnel, the dugouts, players’ lounge, and press room.

Exhibits in the Manchester United Museum include a tribute to George Best, trophy displays, the Munich Air Disaster, kit displays, and an interactive chat with a hologram of Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Museum and Tour Centre is open every day of the week except on match days. Opening times are 9 am to 5 pm. Tours run every 10 minutes from 9.40 am to 4.30 pm (later during school holidays) and last approximately one hour. On the day before a Champions League home fixture tours will finish at 1 pm.

Online booking via the official Manchester United website is highly recommended.

Participants are advised to arrive at least half an hour before the tour is due to begin.

The nearest Metrolink stations to Old Trafford are Old Trafford and Exchange Quay. Old Trafford is on the Altrincham Line and next to Old Trafford cricket ground. After leaving the station walk up Warwick Road for around 1/3 mile to Sir Matt Busby Way and the stadium. Exchange Quay is on the Eccles Line and around ½ mile from the stadium. Direct trams to Exchange Quay and Old Trafford can be caught from various stops in the city centre including Piccadilly train station, Piccadilly Gardens, and St Peter’s Square.

Buses to Old Trafford depart from Piccadilly Gardens (84, 250, 255, 256, 263, 290, 291, X50) and the Shudehill Interchange/Victoria Station (264).

Visitors travelling by car from the north should leave the M60 motorway at Junction 12 and take the M602 towards Salford and Manchester city centre. At the end of the M602 turn right onto the A5063 and follow the signs.

Those travelling from the south should exit the M6 motorway at Junction 19 and take the A556 (signposted for Manchester and Manchester Airport) and then the M56. Follow the signs to the M60 and leave the M60 at Junction 7 and take the A56 (Chester Road). Old Trafford is clearly signposted from here.

Car parking for visitors to the Manchester United Museum and Tour is free.

Shut up Paul. It’s a great tour and the back room facilities are great.

You’ve got to be careful when parking around here on match days. There’s a lot of crooks operating bogus car parks. They basically set up camp on private land (not theirs) and charge people for the privilege of parking. They wear ‘official’ looking jackets but are anything but. They even have the cheek to charge people to park on residential streets. And don’t think your car is being looked after while you are at the match. As soon as the game starts they’re off.

The best way to get to Old Trafford is to get a tram to Altrincham from Piccadilly train station. They run every 5 minutes or so. Get off at the Old Trafford stop.

Like the review says, book in advance.

The tour is very good and informative. It’s quite a suprise though to see that the backroom facilities weren’t really that impressive.

Getting to the stadium

Old Trafford the stadium takes its name from Old Trafford the neighborhood — a municipal area just two miles southwest of Manchester’s city center. Besides, from central Manchester, the ground is pretty simple to reach. For vehicles, the easiest route will be along the A56 (Chester Road), which cuts through the Old Trafford area and is lined with strip malls and industrial businesses. Note that on matchdays, the road becomes restricted to traffic the closer it gets to Warwick Road, which turns into Sir Matt Busby Way and leads north directly to the stadium.

The primary public transit option to Old Trafford is Manchester’s Metrolink light rail service, which has several stops within the city center, including at the Piccadilly and Victoria train stations. The Old Trafford stop is adjacent to the cricket ground, and you’ll have to walk about half a mile to get to the football stadium. However, it’s a lively one — more on that below.

Old Trafford is located next to railroad tracks for Britain’s rail network. There is a “Manchester United Football Ground” station along these tracks but it has not been open for matchday transport for several years.

Parking at Old Trafford

Old Trafford is surrounded by several “official” parking lots (or “car parks” in British nomenclature). The E1 and E2 lots are the most popular, as they are adjacent to the stadium’s main entrance on the east side.

Parking permits for Manchester United matches at Old Trafford can be purchased via the club’s website and begin at £12. If you’re set on driving to the match, buy a parking permit early, as these can be sold out months in advance.

Otherwise, you’ll find plenty of nearby businesses selling parking along Chester Road and other nearby streets, just like at most American sports venues.

Like many English football grounds, Old Trafford is nestled neatly into the neighborhood in which it’s located, co-existing among rows of houses, warehouses, car dealerships, grocery stores and other trappings of city life.

But on matchdays, the area comes alive with mobile vendors, musicians, food trucks and other types of entertainment to take advantage of the influx of people.

If you’re walking toward the stadium from the Old Trafford Metrolink station, you’ll see plenty of this, particularly after you cross the A56. The final walk on Matt Busby Way might be one of the most iconic for English fans, with the street teeming with people, the sidewalks lined with flags denoting food and souvenir stands, and the stadium visible in the distance.

Beyond this, there are a handful of neighborhood pubs around the Old Trafford area that cater to football fans. The nearest are The Bishop Blaize and The Trafford, both near the intersection of Chester and Warwick roads.

If you’re staying in Manchester’s center city, you’ll find football fans taking advantage of the numerous restaurant and pub options before making the trek to Old Trafford.

Another option for spending your pre-match time is visiting the National Football Museum , Britain’s shrine for the sport that’s located adjacent to Victoria Station.

But if you’re specifically interested in Manchester United’s history, you owe it to yourself to head to Old Trafford early to soak in the atmosphere before the match.

Watching a game at Old Trafford

Whether you’re a Manchester United fan or not, you should still spend some time exploring the perimeter of Old Trafford before going inside — partly to check out the vibrant scene, and partly to see the tributes to the club’s history.

The two most prominent nods are in the east plaza at the end of Sir Matt Busby Way. On the wall at the stadium’s southeast corner is the Munich Memorial, a tribute plaque to the players and club officials who died in the 1958 Munich Air Disaster.

Around the corner from here is the East stand, where you can find the most recognizable exterior view of Old Trafford — a glass façade with red “Manchester United” signage mounted above it. In the same plaza is the entrance to the United team store, as well as the “United Trinity” statue featuring three of the greats in club history, George Best, Denis Law and Bobby Charlton.

Entrance gates are available throughout the perimeter of Old Trafford, though tickets are marked with a specific gate — patrons should make sure to enter at the correct gate to be close to their designated seating area.

Like many English grounds, Old Trafford has four seating stands. The Sir Alex Ferguson stand on the north side, named after the club’s longtime manager who retired in 2013 is the largest in terms of capacity — if you’re a visitor trying to score a ticket for a single match, you’ll likely wind up sitting here.

The East stand is where the visiting club fans sit, confined to a few sections in the southeast corner. On the south end is the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand, the only single-tiered stand.

Meanwhile, the Stretford End on the west side is the designated seating area at Old Trafford for United’s most fervent supporters. While it’s exceedingly difficult to score a ticket in that stand, it’s fun during matches to watch those hardcore fans in action from a distance.

Old Trafford has gone through many changes to its structure, seating bowl and appearance over its more than 100 years of existence, with more seemingly on the way . Expansion from its current 74,000-seat configuration is likely in coming years, particularly via expansion of the Sir Bobby Charlton stand — though it’s complicated by the below-street level train tracks just behind it as well as the fact that the club locker rooms and training facilities are located within.

One aspect of Old Trafford that allows it to keep a bit of an old-timey charm: There are no videoboards anywhere within the seating bowl. However, there are several small digital display boards in different spots around the ground to display time, score, player substitutions and so on.

Food and drink at Old Trafford

Unsurprisingly for an older ground, Old Trafford doesn’t have concourses to roam, so the food and drink available to you depends somewhat on your seating section. Plus, most in-stadium concession stands tend to have only 2-3 registers, so long queues can build up.

The fare at these stands are somewhat standard, with hot dogs and fries readily available. British fare like fish and chips and meat pies can also be found within.

If you care to eat something more substantial, or wish to have more variety, eat before going inside. The perimeter and surrounding blocks are lined with food stands and mobile trucks on matchdays, serving items ranging from chip stands (fries to Americans, but with a variety of toppings) to kebabs to burgers to pizza.

Manchester United recently earned raves for reducing beer prices at Old Trafford to as low as £3 a pint — the lowest in the Premier League.

Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United, is one of the best stadiums in world football . Based in the north of England, it is a dream for thousands of fans, particularly ones who live abroad, to visit the stadium. It's a 'bucket list' mission for people.

The famous Stretford End produces one of the greatest atmospheres in the world, as the fans who are lucky enough to be season ticket holders support their team. It's also been the scene of protests from fans , particularly in recent years towards the Glazer family. However, they are now not in control of the footballing side of the club — and there are plans in place for Old Trafford to change.

With the future looming, which could see the iconic stadium knocked down, here at GIVEMESPORT, we have produced this article to highlight everything you need to know about the ground. From its capacity to how to get there, we've covered every important detail.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe reveals plans for Old Trafford

The capacity of Old Trafford is 74,310 . During the biggest matches of the season, it feels far more than that though, as all four stands rise in chorus to chant for Man United. It's one of the best sites in football. With a capacity of over 70,000, it is the biggest stadium in the Premier League. It has nearly 12,000 more seats than the second-biggest stadium in the competition, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London. However, as highlighted below, Wembley tops Old Trafford as the largest stadium in England. Classed as 'the home of football', it has 15,000 more seats than Man United's ground.

The four stands at Old Trafford are known as the 'Sir Alex Ferguson Stand', 'Sir Bobby Charlton Stand', 'Stretford End' and the 'Scoreboard End'. The 'Sir Bobby Charlton Stand' features the dugout, whilst the away fans sit to the right in the 'Scoreboard End'. It's an iconic stadium to watch the sport at and the 'Stretford End' is the most famous area to view it from. "United, United, United," continuously rings out from the stand, particularly as the players walk out from the corner at kick-off and half-time.

The pitch dimensions at Old Trafford are 105m x 68m. It is one of 12 stadiums in the Premier League to have an overall area of 7,140m². Premier League pitches all have slightly different widths and lengths, but it highlights how most clubs in the competition keep to a similar size.

Only two stadiums have a bigger pitch area. Interestingly, the centre of the pitch is roughly nine inches higher than the edges, allowing surface water to run off more easily. Meanwhile, as is the case at most clubs in England, 25 centimetres under the pitch is an underground heating system, composed of 37 kilometres of plastic pipes. It prevents matches from ever being called off during the winter due to the poor weather.

How to Get There

As is often the case in the Premier League, there are several ways to get to Old Trafford. You are spoilt for a choice, but you will need to expect delays when leaving the stadium as over 74,000 people try to do the same thing.

If you are travelling from the south, leave the M6 at Junction 19 and follow the A556 towards Altrincham. At the junction with the M56, take the A56 towards Altrincham. Keep on the A56 for six miles, and then you will come to see Sir Matt Busby Way on your left. The ground is half a mile down this road on your left, although on matchdays this road will be closed to traffic.

From the north, leave the M6 at Junction 30 and take the M61 towards Bolton. At the end of the M61, join the M60. Leave the M60 at Junction 9 and follow the A5081 towards Manchester. After about two miles, you will reach Sir Matt Busby Way on your right for the ground.

Finally, from the west, follow the M56 until its end and then take the M60 (W&N) to Trafford Centre. At Junction 7, leave the M60 and take the A56 towards Stretford. Stay on the A56 for 2.1 miles, then you will come to see Sir Matt Busby Way on your left. The ground is half a mile down this road on your left.

Once you get there, there are several places to park. You can park at the E1 or E2 car park at the stadium, although that will be expensive and have delays post-match. If you want somewhere quicker and likely cheaper, we recommend using the JustPark app to look at private parking on driveways and nearby car parks.

By Public Transport

Most fans arriving in the city by train will be at Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station. That is still three miles from the stadium, yet the Metro system well connects it. There is Old Trafford MetroLink Station, which is a five-minute walk from the ground. Meanwhile, nearby stations at the Imperial War Museum and Wharfside are just a short walk to the ground. The city is connected by several lines, so the best way is to plan your journey using Google Maps. Meanwhile, Manchester Airport is just eight miles from the ground and it is well-connected by the metro.

Previous Developments

Old Trafford officially opened on the 19th February 1910 with a match between Manchester and Liverpool . The stadium then consisted of one covered seating stand and open terraces on the other three sides. It held over 80,000 people, yet there were far fewer health and safety restrictions.

Since then, the club has continually looked to improve the stadium. They added a roof over one of the terraces in 1934, whilst they were forced to rebuild the stadium partially due to WWII over eight years. They eventually moved back to their home in 1949, yet it was smaller than in the previous decades.

They aimed to continually renovate it, as they added new cover, increased seating areas and improved hospitality areas. They were one of the first clubs to install private boxes. Due to the Taylor Report following the Hillsborough disaster , the club were forced to make it an all-seater stadium, which they used as an opportunity to renovate once again.

They opened a new North Stand in 1995, whilst - in the following years - second tiers were added to the East and West Stand. This was before they had their iconic names. Finally, in 2006, the stadium reached its current capacity when stands were built in the upper-tier corners on both sides of the North Stand.

It marked the end of its expansion, but they continually made minor changes. In 2011, the stadium’s North Stand was renamed the ' Sir Alex Ferguson Stand' in honour of the club’s long-time and legendary manager. Meanwhile, that stand remains the only two-tiered area in the stadium, as expansion possibilities were always limited due to the railway line that runs behind it.

Other Events

The stadium in Manchester is mainly used by the Red Devils. That's the reason it was built and exists. They play 19 Premier League matches each season, with several other matches in the Champions League , FA Cup and Carabao Cup across the season. Meanwhile, the club's women's team also play matches at the stadium alongside playing at Leigh Sports Village. With this combined, over 25 matches - at a minimum - are played at Old Trafford. However, they also have several other events in the year.

During the summer, like most clubs in the Premier League, they rent out the stadium for concerts. In the summer of 2024, the Foo Fighters are performing there. Meanwhile, they also host the Rugby League Super League Grand Final , which is one of the most important events on the English sporting calendar. It hosts far fewer events than other modern stadiums in England, including the Emirates Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but it provides fans with an opportunity to visit Old Trafford in a different limelight.

Getting there by tram

There are a number of stops within easy walking distance of the ground:

• Exchange Quay (Eccles/Ashton lines)

Post-match, trams towards Manchester city centre on the Trafford Park line will not stop at Imperial War Museum. Please use the Wharfside stop for trams back to the city centre or, alternatively, consider walking to Exchange Quay.

Catch the East Didsbury or Airport line and usually head to Old Trafford tram stop after the match? We advise passengers who catching the East Didsbury or Airport line to use Trafford Bar to ease congestion at Old Trafford stop. We've created a handy map to help with post-match connections.

Park and ride

If you have to drive, did you know that there are 24 park and ride sites in Greater Manchester, where you can park your car for free and hop on the tram to your destination? The nearest Park and Ride sites to Old Trafford are:

• Sale Water Park (Airport line)

Getting there by bus

If you are intending to catch a bus to or from Old Trafford, the following commercial bus services will bring you closest to the ground – 250 , 255 , 256 , 263 and X50 .

Journey times could also be impacted due to the increased levels of traffic, so be sure to plan ahead and allow extra time for your travel.

Post-match shuttle bus

A match day shuttle bus service will operate for Premier League games (not for Champions League or League Cup games).

The service will depart from Chester Road (outside the Ford Car Garage), with drop-off points at Deansgate-Castlefield and Piccadilly.

There will be 10 buses to take fans back to the City Centre.

Tickets can be purchased on the bus with a single costing £3 for adults and £1.50 for children.

Get on board a bus with simple and clear low bus fares.

Adults will pay no more than £2 for a single bus journey, while a £5 1 day AnyBus Adult travelcard will cover unlimited bus travel within the 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester until 3.59am the following day.

Getting there by car

Congestion on the roads close to Old Trafford will start to build from around 2 hours before each match as fans start to make their way to the ground.

According to data from previous matches, consider adding the additional journey time below, dependent on which direction you are approaching the ground from:

• If you are travelling from the west side of Manchester , plan an additional 20 minutes into any journey by road.
• If you are travelling from the east side of Manchester , along the Mancunian Way, expect an additional 15 minutes to your journey.
• If you are travelling from the south of Manchester via junction 7 of the M60, expect an additional 30 minutes added to your journey along the A56 Chester Road. The quickest route to the official car parks is via Parkway and Wharfside Way (M60 Junction 9).

At the end of the game, there will be road closures in place for supporter safety. Expect delays of up to 50 minutes if travelling in and around Old Trafford.

Planned roadworks

There are works underway to support the upgrade of cycling and walking facilities in the Talbot Road area. Please allow plenty of time to travel.

The next phase of the Chorlton to Manchester cycleway is now underway, with temporary traffic lights installed at the junction of Barlow Moor Road and Sandy Lane/High Lane. With three sets of lights now in place along Barlow Moor Road, journey times are significantly increasing on match days. Fans should look to avoid the area or to beat the queues by using public transport.

The ground is also only a short Metrolink ride (20 minutes) from Piccadilly Station in the city centre.

• From Manchester Piccadilly : Please board an Altrincham tram and get off Old Trafford. For tram services, just take the stairs down from the main concourse area at Piccadilly Station.
• From Victoria : Please board an Altrincham tram and get off Old Trafford.
• From Oxford Road : Please board an Altrincham tram from Deansgate-Castlefield to Old Trafford.

Please note that on some maps of the area, it depicts an Old Trafford train station. This is no longer in use, but the nearby Old Trafford tram stop provides links to all corners of Greater Manchester. Please see the information above for details.

Getting there by bike

With a network of cycle lanes around the stadium, beat the queues and make cycling your top choice for getting to and from the match.

Cycle parking

No need to wonder whether there will be somewhere safe to park your bike, as Old Trafford provide free cycle racks at the following car parks:

• N2 (Sir Alex Ferguson Stand)
• E2 (East Stand)
• W2 (West Stand)

To secure your bike, make sure you take your own bike lock with you.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe calls untidiness of Manchester United facilities ‘a disgrace’ in email to club staff

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has sent an email to all Manchester United staff to highlight the lack of tidiness in parts that he witnessed of the club’s Old Trafford stadium and Carrington training facilities, describing one area as a “disgrace”.

Ratcliffe and his company INEOS completed their purchase of a minority stake in United earlier this year, with the 71-year-old visiting the club’s facilities earlier this week.

Following the visit, Ratcliffe circulated an email to the club’s staff — which has been seen by The Athletic — to describe the tidiness of the club’s IT department as a “disgrace” while adding that “frankly the dressing rooms of U18s and U21s” were not much better.

He said that the standards of cleanliness at United’s facilities would not be acceptable at INEOS and “we are a chemical company.”

Ratcliffe warned that is unacceptable for an elite sporting organisation to not maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and tidiness, adding it gives a poor impression to visitors including the parents of young footballers, potential signings and the press.

It is the latest installment of Ratcliffe’s attempts to set a new tone and culture internally with a major focus on performance, standards, discipline and outcomes.

Staff were stunned to receive the email on Friday afternoon. The initial response by some was to consider the feedback insulting and over-the-top, but others told The Athletic they felt this assault on United’s standards is long over due and necessary to weed out under-performing colleagues in the organisation.

On Wednesday, it was made clear to club staff that underperformance across an organization at Ineos would lead to treats like Christmas parties not happening, implying this would also be how it may work at United.

Manchester United have been approached for comment by The Athletic .

INEOS acquired a 27.7 per cent stake in the Premier League club in a deal worth over $1.3bn , and are now overseeing significant structural off-field change in leading football operations at United.

INEOS are aiming to implement improvements across the board at United as they seek to change the culture at the club with an approach of shock therapy.

Earlier this week, The Athletic revealed Ratcliffe ordered the club’s non-football staff back into their offices in Manchester and London — insisting the work-from-home culture for employees must be ended.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe tells Man Utd staff to return to office working

INEOS initially appeared to be focusing on football and performance but swiftly concluded that the necessary improvements would also require Ratcliffe’s team taking a firm grip of the club’s business, commercial and operations arms.

Last month, INEOS hired the consultancy firm Interpath Advisory to review the club’s business and operational costs.

United have made multiple off-field changes in an attempts to lower their expenditure, including removing company credit cards from staff members, who are also being asked to contribute to their own travel and food costs for the journey from Manchester to London for this month’s FA Cup final against Manchester City .

How Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS took charge of Manchester United's football and business

In December 2023, United had their food hygiene rating for Old Trafford downgraded after guests at a corporate event were served raw chicken.

The Athletic initially revealed that the club had received complaints from guests who attended an event hosted at the club’s stadium. The Food Standards Authority (FSA) subsequently ruled the club’s management of food safety, that includes a “system or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat,” requires “major improvement”.

As a result of the review, the food hygiene rating for Old Trafford was reduced to one out of five. Prior to the incident and an inspection on November 24 last year, it was a maximum five out of five.

The title race is down to two teams .

The relegation tussle still involves three.

And the contest for the remaining European qualification positions contains as many as five.

The Premier League season is down to its last two weeks and there’s still plenty at stake from top to bottom.

Meanwhile, the second-tier Championship’s regular season finishes on Saturday, with a second automatic promotion spot set to be secured.

Here’s a look at what’s still to be decided:

This time, Arsenal vs. Manchester City for the Premier League title looks like going down to the wire.

City took advantage of a late-season collapse by the Gunners to win the league with three matches to spare in the 2022-23 campaign, but an improved Arsenal might last the course this time round.

Arsenal leads by one point with three games to go — against Bournemouth at home on Saturday, Manchester United away and Everton at home. City has four games remaining — at home to Wolverhampton, away to Fulham and Tottenham, and at home to West Ham — and would capture an unprecedented fourth straight title by winning all of them.

The pressure is on the defending champions to do that because even just one draw could be fatal. Arsenal has a superior goal difference and, as it stands, would win on that tiebreaker if the teams are equal on points.

Away to Tottenham looks to be the toughest match for City, which has yet to win — or even score — in four league games at Tottenham’s new stadium that opened in 2019. Spurs fans will have mixed feelings about the May 14 game, because a win for their team could hand Arsenal, Tottenham’s fierce north London rival, the title.

A trip to Old Trafford is likely Arsenal’s hardest remaining fixture. After all, Liverpool — until recently the other title contender — saw its season turned upside down after a loss at United in the FA Cup quarterfinals on March 17 was followed by a costly draw at Old Trafford in the league on April 7.

The Premier League is the only one of Europe’s top five leagues where the title race is still bubbling. Germany’s Bundesliga (champions Bayer Leverkusen), Italy’s Serie A (Inter Milan) and France’s Ligue 1 (Paris Saint-Germain) have been decided, while Real Madrid leads Barcelona by 11 points in Spain’s La Liga.

Arsenal, City and Liverpool are locks for Champions League qualification, with fourth-place Aston Villa likely to join them. Tottenham is isolated in fifth, the reward for which is Europa League qualification.

The remaining intrigue, then, revolves around which teams finishes in sixth and seventh to likely earn a berth in the Europa Conference League. Manchester United, Newcastle and Chelsea are the teams occupying sixth to eighth places and three points separate them with four games left for each. West Ham and Bournemouth have outside shots in ninth and 10th, respectively.

Chelsea is in the best form, having lost just one of its last 11 games — though that was 5-0 at Arsenal.

If United drops to eighth, the team has a last chance to get into Europe by winning the FA Cup final against Man City a week after the Premier League finishes.

The relegation battle looks like it will go to the final day of the season — and won’t just be determined by what happens on the field.

With last-place Sheffield United already down, there are three teams fighting to avoid the two remaining relegation places: Nottingham Forest (26 points), Luton (25 points) and Burnley (24 points).

Each team has three games left and, significantly, two of them meet in the final round when Burnley hosts Forest.

Forest’s current points total is subject to change, however, because the club has appealed against a four-point deduction for breaching the league’s financial rules. The result of that appeal should be known before the end of the season, meaning Forest could recover some points based on the views of an independent panel.

If Burnley and Luton are also relegated, it means the three teams that came up last year lasted just one season before going back down to the Championship.

There’s one automatic promotion spot up for grabs heading into the final round of games in the second-tier Championship on Saturday.

Leicester has already clinched promotion and an immediate return to the Premier League. The team will go up as champions.

Ipswich or Leeds will join them.

Ipswich, which last played in the top flight in 2002, is currently in second place and three points ahead of third-place Leeds, whose American ownership group includes major-winning golfers Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.

Ipswich hosts next-to-last Huddersfield, and Leeds is at home to fourth-place Southampton.

The teams placed third to sixth will compete in the playoffs for the third promotion spot. The playoff final is at Wembley Stadium on May 26.

Manchester United to welcome visitors back to its Old Trafford Tour & Museum as Trafford reopens

Manchester United is pleased to confirm that its  Old Trafford Tour & Museum  will reopen to visitors this Spring in line with the UK government’s easing of lockdown measures.

The popular attractions are due to reopen on Monday 17th May after more than a year of closures and disruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bookings are now being taken for the Old Trafford Tour & Museum from 17th May, giving visitors the chance to step inside Old Trafford and experience the history and magic of the Theatre of Dreams.

The Red Café, in the heart of the Sir Alex Ferguson stand, is also due to reopen for food and drink from 17th May and fans will be able to visit the club’s renowned Megastore, which is set to reopen its doors on Monday 12th April.

Collette Roche, Chief Operating Officer, Manchester United, said: “We can’t wait to welcome visitors back to Old Trafford and, while we won’t be happy until fans are in the stands again for matches, the reopening of our non-matchday visitor attractions is an important step towards normalisation.”

A range of measures will be in place across the Old Trafford Tour & Museum, Red Café and Megastore to ensure that visitors can enjoy their experience of Old Trafford while keeping themselves and staff safe.

Manchester United has received certification from The National Tourist Organisations of Great Britain and Northern Ireland confirming that its attractions follow government and industry Covid-19 guidelines, including measures to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

Old Trafford Tour & Museum provides an enthralling experience exploring the triumphs and tragedy of Manchester United’s 143-year history through thousands of unique exhibits in the club Museum, followed by a tour of England’s largest club football stadium. The tour includes the players’ tunnel, the manager’s dugout and a walk alongside the world-famous pitch.

Groups will be limited to 15 people until 21st June to allow for social distancing. All dates are based on the government’s current timetable for the easing of lockdown measures and are subject to review.

Cricket in the US is a month away: 2024 T20 World Cup tickets, schedule, venues, where to watch

The countdown to the much-awaited 2024 T20 Cricket World Cup begins, with just a month left for the opening match of the tournament between first time participants Canada and U.S. in Dallas on June 1. The series will also mark U.S.'s debut as a co-host in an International Cricket Council tournament.

Preparations for the tournament are in full swing in the U.S., and the 34,000-seat modular stadium in Long Island, New York that will host some of the most anticipated matches is nearing completion. Ten pitches, prepared in Florida, arrived at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium this week, the ICC said Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the squads and players have also started gearing up for the tournament. Several countries including India , Australia, South Africa and defending champions England have announced their squads for the upcoming matches.

General tickets for the 2024 T20 World Cup are available to purchase on first-come-first-serve basis on the tournament website . While tickets for popular matches sold out almost immediately when the sales went live on Feb. 22, tickets for multiple matches in the U.S., such as United States vs. Ireland and Canada vs. Pakistan, are still available, as of April 30.

Tickets for some of the matches are also available for purchase on third-party websites such as Stubhub , Tickets Center and SeatGeek for varying prices.

What to know about the 2024 T20 World Cup

Fifty-five matches will be played across nine cities – three in the U.S. and six in the Caribbean, according to the ICC, with the opening match between Canada and the U.S. to be held on June 1 at Grand Prairie Stadium in the Dallas metro area, and the grand finale on June 29 in Barbados. The semi-finals will take place in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.

New York City will host the much-anticipated clash between Pakistan and India on June 9, according to the schedule released by the ICC.

England enters the year as defending champions, having beaten Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup final in Melbourne. The series will mark U.S., Canada and Uganda's first appearances at a Men's T20 World Cup.

As anticipation for the tournament builds, the ICC announced eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt and India's legendary cricketer Yuvraj Singh as ambassadors for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Tournament director Fawwaz Baksh had told USA TODAY in February that he is confident that his team "will put up a very good show."

"A big part of this tournament is not only what's going to happen on the field with the players, but also everything outside of the stadium," Baksh had said. "We will make it a real carnival-like."
