Azamara Quest Itineraries

Azamara quest review, review of azamara quest.

The 2000-built (as "R-Seven"/R7) Azamara Quest cruise ship is the second of all four identical R-Class ships in the Azamara fleet - together with Azamara Journey , Azamara Pursuit and Azamara Onward (Pacific Princess) .

The vessel (IMO number 9210218) is currently Malta- flagged (MMSI 256216000) and registered in Valletta .

History - construction and ownership

Azamara Cruises was a fully-owned subsidiary company of RCG-Royal Caribbean Group until 2021. Founded in 2007 as "Azamara Club Cruises", the company was rebranded in 2009 (Azamara Cruises) and 2019 (Azamara). Azamara ships were originally built as R-Class vessels for Renaissance Cruises (1989-2001 defunct ).

Azamara Quest cruise ship

In January 2021, Azamara's parent company RCG-Royal Caribbean announced an agreement to sell the brand for USD 201 million (~EUR 165,8 M / ~GBP 147,6 M / carve-out transaction) to Sycamore Partners. Sycamore Partners acquired the entire company and its 3 ships, plus all the associated intellectual property rights and goodwill. The all-cash transaction was closed in 2021-Q1. Sycamore Partners (shipowner) is a 2011-founded, NYC -headquartered private equity firm with USD 15+ billion in capital and assets under management. Among the largest of the Sycamore Partners-owned companies are Belk Inc (department store chain), Talbots (retailer of clothing-shoes-fashion accessories), Nine West Holdings (designer and wholesaler of branded clothing-shoes-accessories) and Staples Inc (office retailer).

The 694-passenger ship Azamara Quest was formerly sailing as R Seven (Renaissance), Delphin Renaissance (Cruiseinvest), and Blue Moon (Pullmantur). The vessel was renamed to “Azamara Quest” in 2007 when joining Azamara's fleet.

In 2001, the original vessel’s owner Renaissance Cruises ceased operations due to liquidity. The vessel was launched in 2003 to be operated under charter by Delphin Seereisen under the name “Delphin Renaissance”. In 2006, Pullmantur bought the ship and renamed it to “Blue Moon”. In 2007, Pullmantur’s owner RCCL (Royal Caribbean) transferred the ship to its new subsidiary company “Azamara Cruises” and renamed it to “Azamara Quest”.

Onboard Azamara Journey passengers can find out why Azamara services are one of the best in the world. The award-winning boutique ship amazes with lots of dining options, an unforgettable spa, and wellness facilities, friendly staff always in place to help passengers and destinations that guests would love to visit.

On March 30, 2012, a fire stopped Azamara Quest, while transporting one thousand passengers south of the Philippines. Five crew members were injured in the accident, a day after the ship left Manila for Sandakan, Malaysia.

Azamara Quest cruise ship

Azamara Quest's drydock in Singapore (April 2016) was a 20-day project that resulted in numerous refurbishments and upgrades , as well as a technology overhaul. The ship's new "Pervasive Wi-Fi" system now provides faster Internet connectivity shipwide. Interactive HDTVs in all staterooms feature new options line live TV, movies on demand, activities schedule (lecturers, shows, etc), weather updates, navigational-itinerary-port information. Passengers can book shore excursions through their TVs, as well as to order room service. In the Inspiration Center (Deck 4) guests can plan their next Azamara voyage by a 98-inch touchscreen to learn about future sailings and the call ports. In The Drawing Room and Living Room passengers can use interactive tabletops to send digital postcards, design their own art (by a Scribble app) or surf social media websites.

Decks and Cabins

Azamara Quest staterooms (361 total, in 24 grades) include 44 Suites, 199 Balcony, 94 Oceanview, 26 Inside. Handicap/wheelchair-accessible cabins (for disabled passengers) are only 5 (2x Balcony, 2x Oceanview, 1x Interior). A total of 241 staterooms have private, step-out balconies. Most cabin balconies are sized 45-60 ft2 / 4-6 m2. The largest accommodations are the World Owners Suite (600 ft2 / 56 m2 plus 215 ft2 / 20 m2 terrace).

The boat has 11 decks , of which 9 are passenger-accessible and 6 with cabins.

Four elevators (2x Forward and 2x Aft passenger lifts) interconnect all decks.

Shipboard dining options - Food and Drinks

For a small ship, Azamara Quest features plenty of options for each meal. The passengers are also encouraged to explore local cuisine when onshore. The line plans to add a complimentary tapas bar when the ship goes into dry dock in 2016. Overall, the food onboard is quite good. There are rotating themes in the buffet. The main dining room pampers with an entree salad every night.

Follows the complete list of Azamara Quest restaurants and food bars.

  • Discoveries Restaurant (aft Dining Room, complimentary, with waiter service, open seating Breakfast 8:00 - 9:30 a.m., Lunch 12:00 - 1:30 p.m., and Dinner 6:00 - 9:30 p.m.)

Shipboard entertainment options - Fun and Sport

Because the ship focuses very much on destinations, Azamara Journey does not have as many daily activities as passengers might find on mainstream cruise ships. There are a couple of trivia sessions each day and some other pastimes, such as origami and Bridge.

Other amenities include 24-Hour Room-Service, Internet/WiFi, Laundry/Self-Serve Laundromats. The Quest ship is not recommended for families with kids.

Azamara Quest Wiki

As an R-Class (Renaissance) vessel, Azamara Quest has sisterships also in the Oceania Cruises fleet - Insignia , Nautica , Regatta , Sirena .

Azamara's ship Quest was ordered and operated as "R Seven" by the Renaissance Cruises in the period 2000-2003. After the Renaissance line's bankruptcy in 2003, the vessel was operated by Delphin Kreuzfahrten under the name Delphin Renaissance (2003 to 2006) and by the Royal Caribbean's Pullmantur line for a year under the name "Blue Moon" (2006-2007).

The vessel is powered by four WARTSILA marine diesel engines (model 12V32E). Its propulsion consists of 2 propeller shafts and 2 fixed pitch propeller (FPP).

Azamara ship Quest is a mid-sized vessel and that is a big part of her charm. In 2012, Azamara Club spent USD 10 million to refurbish the Quest ship with new equipment in the fitness center, new chaise lounges on the pool deck, design changes in the Windows buffet restaurant, new furniture and carpets in public areas. This vessel's small size gives it the opportunity to call lesser-visited ports located in many exotic destinations.

In 2015, both Azamara ships (Quest and Journey) were featured in the UK TV’s travel documentary “Cruise Ship Adventures with Nigel Marven”.

In March 2017, Azamara Quest visited Havana Cuba as part of 13-night Miami roundtrip itinerary (themed "Hemingway Hideaways"). The Cuban voyage included port stops in Key West FL, Tampa FL, New Orleans (2 overnights), Cozumel Mexico and Havana (overnight).

Azamara Quest refurbishment 2016 review

The ship's drydock 2016 refurbishment (April 1-22, done in Singapore ) resulted in the following deck plan changes:

  • The boat's old dark interior decor (woods, carpets, upholstery) was changed with a lighter scheme with muted tones of beige, brown, gray, ecru (light greyish-yellowish brown).
  • Large touch screen displays were installed in several areas around the ship. They allow passengers (for free) to send digital postcards, explore world atlas maps and also provide Azamara Cruises itineraries and ports of call information.
  • Two new Club Spa Suites were built in the place of the eConnections (computer room, located portside on Lido Deck 9). Also on deck 9 was added The Patio (outdoor grill / BBQ restaurant).
  • On Deck 10 was added The Living Room (forward-location observation lounge & bar, disco nightclub) replacing the Looking Glass Lounge.
  • Many public areas were re-furnished (incl Looking Glass, Patio Grill, Sunset Bar).
  • Upgrades and renovations received the restaurants Prime C, Aqualina, Windows Cafe (buffet). The Sanctum Spa (formerly Astral Spa) complex was redesigned and expanded.

All cabins and suites were renovated with new carpeting and wall covers, fabrics, furniture, shelving, curtains, luxury bedding sets (pillows, duvets), new lighting and smart HDTVs (interactive system). All staterooms were upgraded with bigger coffee tables. Bathrooms were redesigned to be more space-efficient. Quality wood elements were used throughout all staterooms. Additionally, all high-grade Suites were updated with new modern furniture, dining tables, drapes, media consoles, and sound systems.

There was a plan the Lido Deck’s Sunset Bar (aft on deck 9) to be replaced by a new specialty restaurant (named Kibo) with Asian-themed cuisine. However, the line later decided to keep the popular day bar and only to upgrade it. The refurb plans for the Asian restaurant plus an outside seating area for the Windows Cafe (buffet restaurant) were officially canceled.

The onboard Wi-Fi coverage was upgraded to shipwide (via “Pervasive Wi-Fi” system). The new Interactive TV system (in all cabins) offers movies on demand, live TV programming, onboard event schedules, weather updates, itinerary/port information. The system also allows shore excursion booking through the TV, as well as room service ordering.

The ship's 2016 refurbishment project cost USD 25 million.

  • Review conclusion

From the moment you step on board Azamara Quest you’ll notice the difference; there’s a genuine sense of warmth among the staff. Combine that with great food, not to mention the small-ship advantage of visiting hideaway ports with overnight stays, and the scene is set for a great cruise.

Indeed, being small makes Azamara Quest easy to get around. The deck plan is intimate, but never crowded. In spite of its size Azamara Quest also has a surprisingly large variety of dining options and bars. However there are things worth knowing, like how the accommodation you choose can change the cruise experience.

  • Outstanding shore excursions.
  • Overnight stays in port.
  • Great food.
  • Friendly staff.
  • Some might not like aspects of the accommodation.

Is Azamara Quest luxury?

Azamara can be considered a luxury cruise line. It has very good food, friendly staff and up-market, resort-style amenities.

Does Azamara have formal nights?

No, there are no formal nights on Azamara cruise ships.

What is the average age on Azamara Quest?

Most of the guests on Azamara Quest range in age from 35 to 75-years old.

Are drinks included on Azamara Quest?

Yes, non-alcoholic and a limited selection of alcoholic beverages are included. Additional alcoholic drinks are covered by premium beverage packages.

Does Azamara Quest included gratuities?

Yes, gratuities are part of your cruise fare.

The Azamara Quest deck plan is easy to get around. There are a total of 8 passenger decks, the highest of which is deck 11.

  • Reception : Deck 4
  • Accommodation : Decks 4 to 9
  • Main dining room : Deck 5
  • Theatre : Deck 5
  • Observation lounge : Deck 10

Azamara Quest is an R-class cruise ship that was built in France in 2000. It sailed for the ill-fated Renaissance Cruises until 2001, then entered service for various other companies before joining Azamara Club Cruises (as the cruise line was then known) in October 2007.

The Grand Staircase on Azamara Quest.

Azamara Quest is small enough to slip into rarely visited ports, yet big enough to cross vast oceans. It is 180 m. / 593 ft. long with room for 686 guests (double occupancy).

Azamara Quest was refurbished in 2016, although some public areas (like the boutiques) have been updated more recently. The decor is modern and smart, yet it retains a classic elegance.

The food on Azamara Quest is delicious. What’s more, there are five restaurants to choose from including a main dining room, a buffet, a poolside grill and two speciality venues. There is also a cafe for light bites.

The Aqualina Restaurant on Azamara Quest.

The Italian-inspired Aqualina has tasty Mediterranean Sea Bass with Sauté of Shrimp, Calamari & Scallop. We rate the Prime C steakhouse as the best restaurant on board. It serves excellent cuisine including Crab & Lobster Cake with Pineapple-Papaya Salsa & Fennel-Aioli as well as a succulent Chateaubriand.

Chateaubriand as served in Prime C on Azamara Quest.

The Discoveries Restaurant is the main dining room. The menu spans the globe with dishes like Thai Tom Kai Gai,  Zagreb-style Pork Steak and Baked Cornish Hen. We enjoyed al fresco dining at The Patio ; especially the mouthwatering Seared Red Snapper with Saffron Rice, Caper & Lemon Butter Sauce. The Windows Cafe has a casual buffet, with seating indoors or on the aft-facing terrace. It’s a lovely venue, but that said the food was not always impressive. Light bites are available in the popular Mosaic Cafe on deck 5.

The nightlife on Azamara Quest is tailored for small-ship cruising. Unlike larger ships the entertainment experience is intimate, but there are also fewer entertainment options. That said, we really enjoyed the resident pianist who played in Spirits bar each night. He added a great vibe to the place.

Azamara Quest cast members on stage.

There are cast shows in the Cabaret Lounge most evenings. Though on my review voyage these shows were mostly underwhelming, in spite of the talent of some cast members.

A three-piece band and vocalist also perform sets in The Living Room on deck 10. They are great fun and on my voyage were enormously popular! You can request songs or just settle in and enjoy the nightly play-list.

The Azamara Quest nightclub opens late in the evening with a D.J. who plays until the small hours.

The staterooms and suites on Azamara Quest were refurbished in 2016. They are decorated in tones of cream and charcoal, with sparkling chrome highlights.

The cheapest rooms onboard are Interior Staterooms . These do not have a view, but they are nonetheless comfortable. Azamara Quest also has Ocean View Staterooms with a porthole or picture window. However the view from some of these rooms is obstructed by lifeboats.

An Azamara Quest Veranda Stateroom.

Most guests stay in Veranda Staterooms . They are modest in size, but have a comfortable bed as well as a good sized veranda. It’s worth noting that the bathrooms in these staterooms have been remodelled, although they retain a shower curtain which is prone to leaking.

You can upgrade the Veranda Stateroom experience by choosing a Veranda Plus option. The room itself is identical, but you get perks like internet, laundry and specialty dining inclusions. There is also priority embarkation and debarkation, not to mention complimentary in-room spirits.

An Azamara Quest Continent Suite.

However, luxury cruisers are sure to prefer one of Azamara Quest’s suites. We stayed in a Continent Suite on our Azamara Quest review voyage and loved the big veranda, not to mention the designer bathroom. There are also Spa Suites , Ocean Suites and Owner’s Suites , all of which have separate bedrooms and living areas.

However, perhaps the best thing about staying in a suite is the butler service. The butlers can book restaurants and shore excursions, plan an in-suite party, serve afternoon canapés, or even pack luggage. We think the butler service is a real treat.

Destination experiences are what make Azamara Cruises truly unique. Indeed, the shore excursions on Azamara Quest are among the best at sea. They are highly curated, often small group, explorations designed to give you a genuine introduction to the local culture.

A Land Rover drives through the hills of Bali, Indonesia.

There are rickshaw rides to local markets, guided tours of religious sites and speedboat jaunts to white-sand beaches, just to name a few. On my review voyage I climbed on board a Land Rover for a trip to the UNESCO listed Rice Terraces of Bali, Indonesia. It was an incredible travel experience made more so by a visit to a small village where an old woman cooked sweet Indonesian treats for us.

Azamara Quest has more activities than you might expect for a ship of its size. Among the most popular of these is the White Night party; a fantastic meal is served al fresco on the pool deck with live entertainment and later, dancing. The AzAmazing Evening is also not to be missed. This signature event takes guests ashore to experience a night of local culture. We were treated to a spectacular performance at the at Binh Quoi Village in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Performers on stage at the at Binh Quoi Village in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

There are more typical shipboard activities as well, including lectures from guest speakers, wellness seminars, bridge, trivia, ping pong and darts. Other activities include dance classes, a free Captains Welcome Toast, jewellery making and fashion shows. Also, books can be borrowed from the ornate library.

The library on Azamara Quest.

There are also get-togethers for friends of Bill W and Dorothy, as well as solo cruisers. They are great ways to strike up new friendships. All these activities are posted in The Insider newsletter each day.

An Azamara Quest cruise has more inclusions than comparable cruise lines. Gratuities are included, so too are most meals,  as well as wine and non-alcoholic beverages.

Signature events like the AzAmazing Evening and White Night party are also included in the cruise fare.

A free shuttle bus service is also provided between the port and downtown.

In addition, there is a free self-service laundry. Although guests staying in Veranda Plus staterooms and Suites get a free laundry allowance.

It’s worth noting that speciality dining and internet access are not included, unless you stay in a Veranda Plus Stateroom or Suite.

Also, premium beverage packages are available for purchase. These let you enjoy a wider selection of alcoholic drinks.

Azamara Quest has a resort-style dress code – think friendly yet sophisticated.

During the day guests wear shorts, jeans and T-shirts. However, it’s worth remembering that tank tops, baseball caps, bathing suits, shorts, and torn/distressed jeans can’t be worn in any of the restaurants.

In the evening the Azamara Quest dress code is still resort-style, but on my voyage most guest dressed more smartly; usually slacks and a shirt for men, or slacks or a skirt, and a blouse for women.

There are no formal nights on Azamara Quest.

Azamara Quest has a loyal following. Indeed, on my review voyage there were lots of return guests.

Most of those guests are aged from 35 to 75-years old. In fact, Azamara Quest is not child-friendly; there are no activities for children.

The majority of guests come from the USA, but there are usually Britons, Canadians and Australians on board as well.

Azamara Quest is gay-friendly.

With overnight stays and outstanding shore excursions, Azamara Quest is ideal for those with a passion to explore. What’s more, this small cruise ship goes places others don’t. Combined with excellent dining and a friendly on board atmosphere, it makes Azamara Quest a great cruise experience.

Like its sister ship, the  Azamara Journey , Quest appeals to travelers seeking an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. According to recent cruisers, the 702-passenger vessel is small enough to provide individualized service (thanks to its excellent crew-to-passenger ratio) but large enough to offer seven dining venues, including two specialty restaurants. The ship underwent a refurbishment in 2021; the remodel added modern amenities, furnishings and European linens. There are now a number of large staterooms and suites with verandas, so guests can get picturesque views while sailing.

The ship's staterooms include flat-screen TVs, minibars and 24-hour room service. Suites offer additional perks, such as 240 free internet minutes and complimentary seating at the ship's specialty dining restaurants. Cruisers can also spend time at the spa and fitness facilities, which previous passengers described as modern and comfortable.

Onboard entertainment includes seminars and wine tastings, among other enrichment programs. At night, passengers can sip cocktails in The Den lounge. On top of all that, itineraries that are seven or more nights include a complimentary night experiencing local culture in a port, known as AzAmazing Evenings.

Azamara Quest's itineraries feature stops across the Mediterranean, Europe, Africa and South America.

  • April 14, 2024

Azamara Ship

Azamara Cruises announced its newest itineraries for 2025 and 2026, including new ports of call and a 79-night voyage that circumnavigates South America, according to a statement.

The 79-night Grand Voyage sails roundtrip from Miami exploring destinations all around South America. Guests looking for longer itineraries can also book back-to-back Caribbean sailings to spend up to 14 days exploring each Caribbean island with 0 days at sea.

Azamara’s new ports of call for 2025 and 2026 itineraries include:

Guide to Azamara Cruises’ Azamara Circle loyalty program

MSN has partnered with The Points Guy for our coverage of credit card products. MSN and The Points Guy may receive a commission from card issuers.

Like most cruise lines, Azamara Cruises has a branded loyalty program, Azamara Circle, which allows frequent cruisers to maximize their travel investment by earning points for each night they sail with the brand. As passengers earn points, they move up the ranks of five loyalty tiers, earning additional perks and amenities — including onboard discounts, free cruise nights and access to exclusive parties.

This article breaks down the program, from earning points to what each loyalty level offers and which cabin category bookings will allow you to punch above your weight in terms of perks.

For more cruise news, reviews and tips, sign up for TPG’s  cruise newsletter.

Ways to earn points

Azamara’s points-earning system is fairly straightforward. The line has eight cabin categories, each of which earns passengers a certain number of points per night they cruise.

  • Club Interior (2 points)
  • Club Oceanview (3 points)
  • Club Veranda (5 points)
  • Club Veranda Plus (6 points)
  • Club Continent Suites (8 points)
  • Club Spa (18 points)
  • Club Ocean (18 points)
  • Club World Owner’s Suites (18 points)

Note that the number of points you’ll receive depends on the cabin category you booked rather than the category you end up with. If you’re upgraded to a higher-level cabin, you won’t receive a higher number of points.

Because Azamara’s ships do not have accommodations for solo cruisers , anyone traveling alone must pay two cruise fares, as all cabins are designed for double occupancy. Therefore, all solo passengers will receive double points for each night of their voyage.

Program tiers and benefits

There are five tiers in the Azamara Circle loyalty program:

  • Adventurer (1-149 points)
  • Explorer (150-299 points)
  • Discoverer (300-749 points)
  • Discoverer Plus (750-2,999)
  • Discoverer Platinum (3,000-plus points)

Adventurer is the easiest level to obtain, as you reach it after just one sailing, meaning your benefits will kick in on your second voyage. (To enroll, you must create an account with Azamara.)

All loyalty tiers receive 10% off select voyages once per quarter, free internet minutes based on tier level, discounts and upgrades on Hertz car rentals, the services of a loyalty ambassador and onboard host, a members-only happy hour on each sailing, exclusive email updates, future cruise credits of $300 per cabin for each referral who books with the line and beverage package discounts. Additional perks and specifics for each tier are below.

Unlike the first level of most other cruise lines’ loyalty programs, cruisers at the Adventurer level earn some valuable savings in addition to the ones already mentioned:

  • 5% off future cruises booked on board
  • Savings on future voyages in the form of up to $300 in onboard credit (when  you book future cruises on board during the first half of your cruise) and a 50% reduced deposit
  • 30 free minutes of Wi-Fi or 20% off an unlimited internet package (more if staying in a Club Veranda Plus cabin category or higher; see chart below)
  • 10% off signature spa treatments
  • 5% discount on the line’s Ultimate Beverage Package

Many other cruise lines reward passengers with free cruises only after they have reached the highest loyalty tier. However, Azamara begins awarding free cruise nights to passengers when they hit the Explorer level and each subsequent level thereafter. That means passengers can enjoy further savings on top of percentage discounts when they book cruises from Explorer level onward.

Cruisers can reach Explorer level in as few as nine nights (or five nights if traveling solo) if they stay in one of the three top-level cabin types. Explorer perks include:

  • Two free cruise nights (must redeem within 12 months on sailings of seven nights or longer)
  • Savings on future voyages in the form of up to $300 in onboard credit (when you book future cruises on board during the first half of your cruise) and a 50% reduced deposit
  • 60 free minutes of Wi-Fi or 35% off an unlimited internet package (more if staying in a Club Veranda Plus cabin category or higher; see chart below)
  • Free laundry service for one bag of items per cabin per seven-night sailing (two bags if booked in a Club Veranda Plus cabin category or higher; see chart below)
  • 15% off signature spa treatments
  • 10% discount on the line’s Ultimate Beverage Package

You can attain the Discoverer tier after 17 nights (or nine nights if traveling solo) in one of the three highest-level cabins. Discoverer-level cruisers receive:

  • Four free cruise nights (must redeem within 12 months on sailings of seven nights or longer)
  • 6% off future cruises booked on board
  • 90 free minutes of Wi-Fi or 50% off an unlimited internet package (more if staying in a Club Veranda Plus cabin category or higher; see chart below)
  • 20% off signature spa treatments
  • 15% discount on the line’s Ultimate Beverage Package
  • Priority check-in at select ports
  • Exclusive onboard get-together

Each level of the loyalty program is entitled to free Wi-Fi minutes, depending on tier level. However, those staying in Club Veranda Plus cabins or higher will receive more, based on a combination of cabin type and loyalty level, according to the following chart — even if they’ve only reached Adventurer status.

Additionally, passengers at Explorer level or higher will receive two bags of complimentary laundry service if booked in any of the cabin categories listed on the chart below.

Royal Caribbean Group sold Azamara to Sycamore Partners, a private equity firm based in New York, in early 2021. Effective Feb. 1, 2023, the line’s loyalty program is no longer reciprocal with those of former sister brands Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises .

The elite level that makes a difference

The Discoverer Plus level is one that spans the largest number of points, making it the first level at which cruisers can earn enough to take a weeklong sailing almost completely free. Six nights are awarded when this level is first reached, along with three additional nights at 1,500 points and another three at 2,250 points.

Azamara Circle members at this level are entitled to:

  • Six free cruise nights, plus three additional nights at 1,500 points and 2,250 points (must redeem within 12 months on sailings of seven nights or longer)
  • 7% off future cruises booked on board
  • 120 free minutes of Wi-Fi or 75% off an unlimited internet package (more if staying in a Club Veranda Plus cabin category or higher; see chart above)
  • Free laundry service for one bag of items per cabin per seven-night sailing (two bags if booked in a Club Veranda Plus cabin category or higher; see chart above)
  • 25% off signature spa treatments
  • 20% discount on the line’s Ultimate Beverage Package

Best elite perk

Discoverer Platinum is Azamara Circle’s highest level of loyalty. It’s the only tier that, when reached, rewards cruisers with enough nights for a completely complimentary sailing of at least a week in length. However, apart from the initial four additional free cruise nights, free Wi-Fi and an extra 5% discount on the Ultimate Beverage Package, this tier doesn’t offer much that’s different from what you’ll receive at the Discoverer Plus level.

Discoverer Platinum amenities are:

  • 10 free cruise nights, plus three additional nights every 750 points after reaching Discoverer Platinum status (must redeem within 12 months on sailings of seven nights or longer)
  • 10% off future cruises booked on board
  • 150 free minutes of Wi-Fi or a free unlimited internet package (more if staying in a Club Veranda Plus cabin category or higher; see chart above)
  • 25% discount on the line’s Ultimate Beverage Package

Bottom line

Because Azamara is a premium line, it’s no surprise that its loyalty program offers passengers quite a bit more discounts and opportunities to earn free cruise nights than mainstream lines.

There are marked differences between Azamara Circle tiers, but cruisers hit the sweet spots when they achieve at least the Discoverer Plus level.

Because joining the program requires minimal work — just a registration — there’s no reason not to join, as the perks can add up over time, especially if you plan to cruise with Azamara regularly.
