Hailed as “The Nicest Man in Stand-Up,” by The Atlantic Magazine and a “Rising Star,” by CBS Morning , 2021 Grammy nominated comedian, podcaster, director and producer Nate Bargatze is selling out shows around the world.

An Old Hickory, Tennessee native, Bargatze followed in the showbiz footsteps of his father, a former clown turned world class magician, who’s influence is seen on his’s 2015 debut Comedy Central special, Full Time Magic and his debut album, Yelled at By a Clown , which reached #1 on the iTunes Comedy Charts and remained on Billboard’s Top Ten Comedy Charts for weeks.

Bargatze’s half-hour Netflix Special The Standups, premiered in 2017 and his first solo one-hour Netflix special, The Tennessee Kid, premiered globally with rave reviews in 2019. In 2021, he released his critically acclaimed second Netflix special, The Greatest Average American , which received a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album. On January 31 st , Nate released his latest and third one-hour special, Nate Bargatze: Hello World , on Amazon Prime which now holds the record as Amazon’s most-streamed original comedy special in its first 28 days of viewership.

On April 15 th 2023, Bargatze broke the attendance record at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville with 19,365 tickets sold. This month, he also broke the record for tickets sold at The Delta Center in Salt Lake City with 32,638 fans attending – the highest amount ever sold by a comedian at the venue.

He was also recently signed to Universal Music Group Nashville as their flagship comedian under their new Capitol Comedy label.

Bargatze’s comedy is both clean and relatable, evident in his 13 appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon . He also appeared on Conan four times and has appeared on Seth Meyers and James Corden respective late night shows.

He was a recurring guest on @midnight and had his own Comedy Central Presents in 2011. Off-screen, Bargatze was part of Jimmy Fallon's Clean-Cut Comedy Tour , and has performed live shows for the troops in Iraq and Kuwait five times. In addition to touring the country as a headliner, Nate toured arenas with Chris Rock on his 2017 Total Blackout Tour . He has performed at SXSW, Oddball Comedy Festival, Sasquatch, Clusterfest, and the JFL Montreal Comedy Festival, where he’s received critical acclaim multiple years in a row.

Bargatze was featured as one of Esquire's “Best New Comedians” by Jim Gaffigan, one of Marc Maron's “Comedians to Watch” in Rolling Stone, one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch” for 2015, and as #1 on Vulture's ‘50 Comedians You Should Know’ in 2015. He also appeared on the cover of Variety’s annual comedy issue in 2022.

Comedian Nate Bargatze brings 'The Be Funny' tour to Des Moines. Here's how to get tickets

Comedian Nate Bargatze, who had Jimmy Fallon open for him, is coming to Des Moines in May.

Bargatze, or “ the nicest man in stand-up ” according to The Atlantic, will perform at Wells Fargo Arena, 233 Center St. in Des Moines, on May 18 as part of “The Be Funny” tour.

Nabbing a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album in 2022, Bargatze released his “Hello World” comedy special on Prime Video last year. That’s in addition to comedy specials “The Tennessee Kid” and “The Greatest Average American” on Netflix.

Bargatze hosted the third episode of Season 49 of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” last year and co-hosts podcast Nateland Podcast.

On Jan. 18, “The Tonight Show” host performed a stand-up set for Bargatze’s New Jersey show, NBC reported.

Nate Bargatze is bringing "The Be Funny Tour" to Wells Fargo Arena this spring.

Bargatze, who has had multiple popular stand-up specials on streaming services such as Netflix, also hosted "Saturday Night Live" earlier this season. He last performed in Iowa on Dec. 15, 2023, at the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa.

Bargatze's Des Moines show will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 26. Tickets will be available here .

Bargatze will also perform in Cedar Rapids on Thursday, June 13.

Nate Bargatze: The Be Funny Tour

Grammy nominated comedian and podcaster Nate Bargatze is bringing the   Be Funny Tour  to the Bridge View Center Friday, December 15 @ 7pm!  Tickets are available for purchase at the Bridge View Center Ticket Office M-F 8:30-5:00 or online at the ticketing link on this page. Opening the show will be comics Steven Rogers, Dustin Nickerson, and Greg Warren.

All tickets for the original October 26 performance will be honored, so fans should hold on to their tickets. No action is required by the ticket holder. If you are unable to attend the new date for Nate Bargatze, refunds will be available at your original point of purchase for 30 days. Please contact your point of purchase if you have any questions or to request a refund.

Reservations for the Pre Show Dinner will also be honored, and if you cannot make the new date, please contact us in the next 30 days for a refund.
