Stage 5: Middelfart - Haderslev 144 km
It’s Denmark, it’s a chance for the sprinters.
Surprise winner of the Day : Lorena Wiebes
Official site , Startlist
Stage 4: Herning 16.5 km Timetrial
The riders have taken the ferry to Denmark for the two final stages. A timetrial to settle the GC today and likely a day for Wiebes ...... I mean the sprinters tomorrow.
Lady Eagle of the Day : Grace Brown
Another chance for Van Vleuten but I’m guessing she will have to settle for another second place on the day while grabbing the overall win.
Stage 3: Kongsberg - Larvik 135 km
Rolling with a punchy uphill finish.
Puncheur of the Day : Liane Lippert
Uttrup looks like she could win a day like this too on the form she’s in but I’ll still bet on Lippert.
Stage 2: Vikersund - Norefjell 150.5 km
Big GC day on day 2 already, gotta get the climbing done before we get to Denmark, the pancake of countries.
Fjell climber of the Day : Annemiek van Vleuten
Not quite as sure a thing as yesterday, the climb isn’t quite tough enough to give her a definitive edge, but you have to think Annemiek wants to make the best of these last few climbing days of her career.
Stage 1: Mysen - Halden 124.6 km
The Womens World Tour wakes up again after the TdF and we go stage racing in Norway And Denmark.
Halden on for the win : Lorena Wiebes
It’s a sprint stage so........

Tour of Scandinavia Battle of the North Race History
The Tour of Scandinavia has morphed from the Ladies Tour of Norway for 2022 after a successful run between 2014 and 2021. Originally hoped to incorporate the Vargarda races in Sweden, the organisers there eventually opted to remain separate. The 2022 Tour of Scandinavia route starts with a depart in Copenhagen, its second big race start in as many months! A long transfer up the coast of Sweden takes the race to the Swedish/Norwegian border. One stage in Sweden takes place before we return to the traditional Tour of Norway-type stages. The peloton will take on the long climb of Norefjell once again, which Van Vleuten comfortably won on last season. For the most part, expect rolling sprint stages with the summit finish deciding the GC.

Tour of Scandinavia Battle of the North Contenders
SD Worx’s Demi Vollering will be the big GC favourite here as the only rider to come close to Annemiek van Vleuten in France last week. Everyone else felt like they were a tier below the Dutch climber. The onus will be her to distance her rivals on Norejfell but we also saw her able to win with attacks like at Itzulia Women .
Katrine Aalerud will be a home favourite for Norwegian fans and should finish high in the GC too. Her teammate Sarah Gigante will also be racing for the first time since Itzulia Women back in May too. She won Emakumeen Nafarroako shortly before Itzulia but then suffered a concussion and then has been back training since. The pair could work well together but we haven’t seen either racing for a while. Barbara Guarischi will do the sprints for Movistar, she won the Mediterranean Games at the start of July but hasn’t raced since.
Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig will be a big GC favourite here after her Tour de France Femmes . She took a stage win there, which bodes well for Stage 3 here and also climbed well. She may be behind Demi Vollering based on the climbs in the Tour de France Femmes, but Cille stands a good chance for a high GC finish. She’s supported by Brodie Chapman who was in great form at the Tour de Suisse , finishing 4th in GC.
Team DSM will go into this race with some confidence. Missing Labous and Wiebes, instead, they will have Liane Lippert and Floortje Mackaij available for GC hopes and Charlotte Kool for sprint wins. Lippert will be an early contender for the lead on the rolling sprint stages, with Stage 3, in particular, looking a good finish for her. Floortje Mackaij is a little bit more of an unknown. She was preparing at altitude to go to the Giro Donne and Tour de France Femmes but has been testing positive for covid for a while despite having no symptoms. That saw her miss out but in theory, she will be in form and fresh compared to others. She probably feels the natural climber for a real GC stint. With the news that Lorena Wiebes is moving to SD Worx next season, Charlotte Kool gets a run out here for Team DSM. She impressed at the Giro Donne , doing everything but actually taking a win against top-drawer rivals. Here she feels like a bet to take a stage win.
There isn’t an obvious GC contender on BikeExchange-Jayco but they do have a couple of solid sprint options in Ruby Roseman-Gannon and Alex Manly . The Aussie pair should dovetail nicely on the tougher sprint stages like Stage 3 but may be overpowered by the likes of Kool and her lead-out train. Without Wiebes though, the sprints should be closer and there is always a chance that Alex Manly recreates that Thüringen Ladies Tour and Women’s Tour form that saw her do so well.
Marianne Vos will be the sprinting favourite and she could easily take multiple wins here. After a pair of stage wins at the Tour de France Femmes , she will be confident of repeating that success. Back in 2019, Vos dominated the Ladies Tour of Norway, taking 3 stage victories and the overall.
Trek doesn’t come into this race with an obvious GC contender but it may fall to Shirin van Anrooij ‘s all-round abilities. She won the youth jersey at the Tour de France Femmes and was 6th in GC at the Vuelta a Burgos . She has the potential to be an outsider for the overall. For the sprints, Chloe Hosking should get the shout but only has a pair of 6th places in recent months.
Roland Cogeas’ Tamara Dronova was consistent at the Tour de France Femmes, finishing 15th Overall. Her highest result all race was 9th place but she was rarely outside of the top-20 all Tour. That could mean she finishes in a similar spot here too, with a similar mid to low top-10 finish in the sprints.
Canyon SRAM has a shot with Alice Barnes in the sprints. She started the season strongly at Bloeizone Fryslan , Ronde van Drenthe and De Panne. Since then, results have been harder with a best of 5th at the Women’s Tour. Neve Bradbury is probably their rider in the best climbing form at the moment. The young Aussie finished 10th in the Giro Donne and may get a shot here. There’s also Ella Harris and Mikayla Harvey who could also do well too, with Sarah Roy another sprinting threat.
Susanne Andersen is the best shot for Uno-X to get a result in their home race. After a quiet Tour de France Femmes, Andersen will hope to recreate some of her early season form. With a number of major sprinters not here, Andersen can potentially finish in the top 5 regularly.
The profile here looks like it might suit a strong finish from Alison Jackson . We saw her finish in the top 10 repeatedly at the Baloise Ladies Tour on her way to 7th Overall there. The Norejfell climb here will prevent a similarly high GC finish but she could repeat her points win from last year’s Tour of Norway .
UAE Team ADQ’s Sofia Bertizzolo has a chance of sprinting against this field. She’s done well recently, finishing 5th in the final stage of the Giro Donne and 2nd in the first stage of the Women’s Tour. Bertizzolo is enough of an all-rounder that she could maybe even sneak into the top-10 of the overall.
I quite like Yara Kastelijn for a high GC finish here. She wasn’t far away from the top-10 with a 13th Overall finish at the Tour de France Femmes. Kastelijn also showed that she isn’t too far behind the best climbers and with many not here I’m expecting her to break the top-10. The straight-up single climb of Norefjell should suit her more than the tough repeated ascents in France.
Tour of Scandinavia Battle of the North Outsiders
Invgild G å skjenn spent May and June racking up the top-10s at the Thüringen Ladies Tour, Women’s Tour and Tour de Suisse. The Norwegian rider impressed with her consistency over multiple stages. Last year on home roads, she was just a shade outside of the top-10 so I’m expecting her to make it inside this year. Her teammates Nicole Steigenga and Mari Hole Mohr will also have a shot. Steigenga has been 2nd at Ronde de Mouscron and Leiedal Koerse this year, with Mohr finishing 2nd in GC at the Tour of Uppsala. The Coop-Hitec Products team will be keen to impress in their home race.
AG-NXTG’s Julia Borgström has impressed this season with her best result 8th in GC at the RideLondon Classique. She’s got a chance for the youth jersey here and her consistency might see her do well in GC without getting a high finish on any individual stage.
A local favourite will be the Norwegian national champion Malin Eriksen . She will be on the Norway national team here and so will get another opportunity to do well in the UCI peloton after taking part in the Baloise Ladies Tour in mid-July. Formerly on the SwaboLadies and Keukens Redant teams, 2022 has seen Eriksen take her best results.
FDJ-Suez-Futuroscope’s Emilia Fahlin might get a chance to sprint here. The Swede will want to impress on one of the few chances to race on home roads. She was 2nd in the Swedish nationals and we’ve seen her finish 8th at Morbihan earlier this season.
Top 3 Prediction
- Demi Vollering
- Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig
- Floortje Mackaij

Two final stages of Tour of Scandinavia in Denmark
At the same time, the organizer continues with a number of side projects, including those related to the development of girls’ cycling through the Equal Opportunities project (Like muligheter) and several exciting projects related to sustainable development in collaboration with Viken County Council. The latter projects are also linked to last year’s Eco-lighthouse certification.
These are the stages of Tour of Scandinavia 2023. The route details will be presented later this spring:
Stage 2, Wednesday 23 August, Tanumstrand – Strömstad : Tanumstrand is a fantastic location on the Swedish west coast, and is hosting the start for the first time. Strömstad is back with another finish after last year’s success. This year’s course will take the riders back to many of the beautiful coastal destinations from last year’s 2nd stage. This year’s stage will end with a fast local circuit in Strömstad and not a direct finish as in 2022.
Stage 4, Friday 25 August, Kongsberg – Larvik : This year’s fourth stage is a completely new stage with new host municipalities. The stage starts close to the waterfall in Kongsberg. The first part down the Lågen valley is relatively easy to ride before the riders have a climb over Vindfjell and Siljan towards Porsgrunn. The route passes on the outskirts of Skien and the center of Porsgrunn before it goes out towards the coast of Vestfold in Helgeroa and Stavern. The final in Larvik is relatively hard with a climb towards the finish in the last 1,4 km. There will be an early finish at stage 4 due to the transfer to Denmark after the stage.
Stage 6, Sunday 27 August, Middelfart – Kolding – Haderslev : The final stage of this year’s Tour of Scandinavia starts in idyllic Middelfart on Fyn. After a small local loop of the municipality, the riders will pass the old Lillebælt bridge before heading towards Kolding. The route passes the 750-year-old Kolding house before heading south again in the direction of Haderslev on the same roads as last year’s Tour de France. In Haderslev there will be 3 laps in a local final circuit of 7,5 km. The finish area is on top of an approx. 800 meter long climb.
– Tour of Scandinavia 2022 was a great success, and the start in Denmark gave the race a new dimension compared to only having stages in Norway. The cooperation across national borders in Scandinavia is central to this project, and we are very happy that this year we can present a concept with the final to stages in Denmark , says race director Anders Eia Linnestad. – The combination of stages in Norway, Sweden and Denmark this year requires a major logistics operation during the transfer between Larvik in Norway and Herning in Denmark. As organizers, we are nevertheless convinced that this year’s combination of stages will be very well received , concludes Eia Linnestad.
This year’s Tour of Scandinavia has a completely different profile compared to the 2022 edition. Already on the first stage, the riders will be put to the test in the hard final in Halden, and in general there is a greater variation on the stages compared to last year. For the first time, a time trial will also be organized this year, and there will be a battle for the yellow jersey the whole way to the last pedal step in Haderslev.
General director and initiator of the Tour of Scandinavia, Roy Moberg, also shares his enthusiasm for this year’s edition, and the development the event has had since its inception in 2014: – There has been an adventurous development of this race since its inception in 2014. With six stages in three Nordic countries, we are a unique concept that builds bridges between the countries’ culture, sports, tourism and business activities. Through the collaboration with Denmark and Sweden, we feel that we have added something new and fresh to cycling. The feedback from last year’s event concept was very good and this year we are taking it one step further. The stages are exciting and varied and we have a packed program throughout the event week which we are really looking forward to showing off in August , concludes Moberg.
The organizer reserves the right to make some adjustments to the stages in Norway and Sweden pending political consideration.
Background Tour of Scandinavia: Tour of Scandinavia is the only World Tour race in Scandinavia regardless of gender. Every year, the race gathers the best teams and profiles in the world on the women’s side in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. This year the race will be organized 22 – 27 August. Together with the Tour de France Femmes and the Giro Rosa, the Scandinavian race is the most prestigious stage race in the cycling world for women. Tour of Scandinavia was Eco lighthouse certified in 2022 and has a number of side projects with a focus on sustainability. In 2022, the race gathered over 4.6 million TV viewers globally on Eurosport’s live broadcasts and all over 16 million viewers on all platforms.

2024 LIV Golf Miami: Schedule, field of players, teams, prize money, purse, live stream, TV schedule
Liv golf returns to action this week as players prepare for the year's first major championship.
LIV Golf returns to action this week for 2024 LIV Golf Miami at Trump National Doral. Taking to the golf course which had previously held its team championship, LIV Golf will crown both an individual winner and team winner by the end of the week as competitors play one last time before the Masters.
The man who claimed the Masters last year, Jon Rahm, looks to enter the winner's circle for the first time this year. The world No. 3 has rattled off four straight top-10 finishes to begin his LIV Golf career with a pair of contention runs but has eyes on more before making the trip to Augusta National.
Rahm has yet to breakthrough in part because of Joaquin Niemann. Twice a winner already this season on LIV Golf, the young Chilean is among the hottest players in the world. Adding shots to his toolbox and getting longer by the week, Niemann looks to keep a good thing going this week in Miami.
Former Masters champion Dustin Johnson has already notched a win this year from an individual perspective, but his 4 Aces have been struggling. Johnson's squad finds itself well behind the top group that is Bryson DeChambeau's Crushers.
DeChambeau is quietly beginning to play some solid golf with three straight top 10s. Alongside Johnson in Las Vegas, DeChambeau was unable to seal the deal and hopes to rectify the mistake before the year's first major championship.
Looking up at DeChambeau's team is Brooks Koepka's Smash GC. The five-time major champion has led his squad to a team win, but his individual accolades have been lacking so far in 2024. A winner this time last year leading into the Masters, Koepka aims to garner some momentum at Trump National Doral and ride into the Masters as one of the favorites to grab another leg of the career grand slam.

Paris-Roubaix 2024: How to Watch a UCI World Tour Cycling Livestream for Free
The world's best riders take on the Queen of the Classics.
The UCI World Tour heads to the rugged roads of northern France this weekend for the 2024 edition of the Paris-Roubaix.
Widely regarded as the toughest one-day race on the road cycling calendar, Paris-Roubaix features some of the most grueling cobblestone stretches on any of the Spring Classics. The peloton's ordeal eventually concludes after almost 160 miles in the iconic velodrome in Roubaix.
Last year's event saw Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) claim victory in the men's race while Alison Jackson (EF Education-Cannondale) was the 2023 women's race winner.
Below, we'll outline the best live TV streaming services to use to watch the Paris-Roubaix live wherever you are in the world.
The 256.6km one-day race is known as "The Hell of the North," and these cobblestones might give you a clue as to why.

How to watch the Paris-Roubaix 2024 online from anywhere using a VPN
If you find yourself unable to view the race locally, you may need a different way to watch -- that's where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds by encrypting your traffic, and it's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.
With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to what you want to watch. If your internet provider or mobile carrier has stuck you with an IP address that incorrectly shows your location in a blackout zone, a VPN can correct that problem by giving you an IP address in your correct, non-blackout area. Most VPNs, like our Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN , make it really easy to do this.
Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.
Looking for other options? Be sure to check out some of the other great VPN deals taking place right now.

Quick tips for streaming Paris-Roubaix 2024 using a VPN
- With four variables at play -- your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN -- your experience and success when streaming the 2024 Paris-Roubaix live may vary.
- If you don't see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the "search for city or country" option.
- If you're having trouble after you've turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs -- like Roku -- don't have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you'll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you're using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.
- All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network's sports app, you'll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
- And remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you're using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend Brave .

Liverpool need late goal from Salah to draw 2-2 with Manchester United
Mohamed Salah scored a late equaliser from a penalty kick as Liverpool escaped Old Trafford with a single point in a 2-2 draw with Manchester United to climb to even on points with Premier League leaders Arsenal.
The Colorado Avalanche are facing a near-must-win game if they want to capture the Central Division title, but that isn't the most important issue for them.
Already set to be a top-four seed in the upcoming playoffs and searching for the Western Conference's No. 1 seed for the second time in franchise history, the Minnesota Timberwolves will need a short memory heading into a test against the host Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.

😮💨 IOWA ESCAPES: Hawkeyes win, will face South Carolina for national title
Even when Caitlin Clark's shot is off target, it's still somehow right where it needs to be.
UConn had handled the Clark problem nearly perfectly, limiting her to just 7 of 18 shooting and forcing the typically suave superstar into a choppy offensive outing, and as Iowa led by two in the closing seconds, her typically automatic free throw clattered off the front rim. Sydney Affolter leapt right into the path of Clark's miss, however, securing Iowa's possession on a jump ball, and a savvy inbound maneuver ensured Iowa escaped with a 71-69 victory, advancing to Sunday's national championship game with South Carolina.
While Clark headlines Iowa's top-ranked offense, it was UConn that looked flawless from the field early on, nailing 5 of 8 field goals to start, including both of its 3-point attempts, and leading 13-7 at the first media timeout. With a rotation dwindled to only six by grueling injury luck, the Huskies leaned heavily on its stars to build a 32-26 halftime lead. Familiar suspects Paige Bueckers and Aaliyah Edwards hooked up on a sweet transition bucket out of the first intermission, ultimately finishing the second quarter with nine combined points, but KK Arnold proved to be a crucial piece for Geno Auriemma's squad. The freshman had finished with more than 10 points just once in her last six outings but had already crossed double-figures by halftime, also dishing out three assists and grabbing a rebound.
A flurry of gritty Bueckers buckets, who joined with Edwards to lead the Huskies with 17 points, kept UConn ahead early in the second half, but Clark managed to swing the momentum with a stunning four-point play. From there, Hannah Stuelke, the game's leading scorer with 23, knocked down four straight free throws, and Iowa regained the lead for the first time since 2-0 at 47-45.
Iowa would grow its lead as large as nine midway through the fourth quarter thanks to an untimely Husky scoring drought, and while ravenous UConn defense forced consecutive Iowa turnovers and gave Connecticut a chance at the victory down just one, an offensive foul call on Edwards set up Clark's free throw magic and sent her squad to another national title game.
🥶 KATE. MARTIN. Gutsy bucket gives Iowa late lead
As Caitlin Clark struggled with erraticism throughout a difficult afternoon, Kate Martin has been the assurgent hero in the Hawkeye backcourt. The veteran guard has 11 points and a collection of timely buckets that have helped Iowa hold its late lead.
None have been bigger than her most recent attempt, a turnaround fader from just inside the left elbow that proved pure. Martin's second-straight bucket gives Iowa a 70-64 lead with less than two minutes remaining.

💪 Hawkeyes in control: Huge run puts Hawkeyes on the precipice
➡️ into the 4th: iowa-uconn tied at 51.
One of the most anticipated games of the tournament has lived up to the hype in every way, tied at 51 entering the fourth quarter with Paige Bueckers leading the Huskies in scoring while Caitlin Clark eyes yet another triple-double.
The NCAA.com crew has you covered live from Cleveland for the final 10 minutes, so stay tuned!
😳 FOUR-POINT PLAY: Caitlin Clark 3 through contact sparks Hawkeye run
Caitlin Clark provided her own inspiration on a rough 4 of 13 shooting night, nailing a 3-pointer before being driven to the floor and igniting a thunderous roar from the Iowa fans. The Hawkeye sensation nailed her attempt at the line, and Hannah Stuelke sandwiched a Geno Auriemma timeout with two perfect trips to the foul line, giving Iowa its first lead since the game's opening seconds at 47-45.

4-point play 🔥 @caitlinclark22 x #Hawkeyes 📺 ESPN pic.twitter.com/RhGPYQEKHu — Iowa Women's Basketball (@IowaWBB) April 6, 2024
💪 Paige takeover: Bueckers on fire to start second half
With Iowa clawing itself even after a stirring start to the second half, All-American Paige Bueckers rallied once more with a dominant stretch for the undermanned Huskies. The Minnesotan has scored seven points in the first five minutes out of the locker room and is torching Iowa at all levels, stepping into an audacious rhythm 3 before sealing her defender for an easy two.
Bueckers' efforts have helped the Huskies reclaim a five-point edge at the third quarter media timeout.
👌 Big 3: Bueckers, Edwards and Arnold lead UConn to halftime lead
Devastated by five season-ending injuries, UConn's now six-woman rotation has leaned heavily on its stars to build a 32-26 halftime lead.
Familiar suspects Paige Bueckers and Aaliyah Edwards hooked up on a sweet transition bucket out of the first intermission, ultimately finishing the second quarter with nine combined points, but KK Arnold continued to be a crucial piece for Geno Auriemma's squad. The freshman had finished with more than 10 points just once in her last six outings but has already crossed double-figures by halftime, also dishing out three assists and grabbing a rebound.

Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark's struggles continue, finishing the half just 3 of 11, and a short-armed missed produced a long rebound and allowed Bueckers to stem a late-half Hawkeye run and convert at the rim just before the horn. Here's a look at the complete box score from half 1.
🕒 First quarter update: UConn leads after tough Clark quarter
With a packed crowd at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse primed to roar every time Caitlin Clark touches the ball, the Hawkeye megastar has instead struggled. The newly crowned AP Player of the Year has managed just two points in the first quarter on 1 of 5 shooting, along with a turnover. The opportunistic Huskies took full advantage, as pass-first point guard Nika Muhl drilled two of her own 3s, and the Huskies led by as much as eight.
Hannah Stuelke offset Clark's struggles — at least in part — with a pair of tough finishes at the rim, and Iowa's Kylie Feuerbach drilled a 3 at the quarter's end, bringing the score to 19-14.
🔥 UConn scorches the net to take early lead
For all the fanfare Caitlin Clark and her transcendent shooting have generated in recent months, is the Huskies that can't miss in the early going. UConn has nailed 5 of 8 field goals to start, including both of its 3-point attempts, and leads 13-7 at the first media timeout.
The Huskies' third-option KK Arnold is stepping into the spotlight in Cleveland, drilling a triple and converting a tough and-one, star guard Paige Bueckers hit a flawless mid-range pull-up and Nika Muhl knocked in a rare 3-ball of her own.
🚨 Game two underway!

📊 Iowa vs. UConn: How they stack up
Here are how the stat lines of (1) Iowa and (3) UConn compare from the 2023-24 season:
🟡 How they got here: Iowa
Inside a sold-out MVP Arena, Iowa escaped from the jaws of the LSU Tigers in a 2023 national championship rematch in the 2024 Elite Eight. Behind a 41-point, 12-assist performance by Caitlin Clark, the Hawkeyes built an 11-point advantage at the end of the third to eventually top the third-ranked Tigers, 94-87.
The 2024 Final Four is the Iowa's third appearance in program history and second consecutive for the Hawkeyes, as the 2024 Big Ten champs ride their 10-game win streak to Cleveland.
🔵 How they got here: UConn
The Huskies rounded out their regular season with a dominant 36-point win over Georgetown for their fourth consecutive Big East championship. They've since battled Jackson State, Syracuse, Duke and Southern California to reach the Final Four. In their first three tournament games, the Huskies held their opponents to scoring just 57.6 points on average. UConn faced its tallest task yet in Southern California, putting up an 11-point run in the fourth period to knock out Juju Watkins and the top-seeded Trojans.
Their matchup against Iowa will be their 23rd national semifinal, the most of any school.
📖 UConn vs. Iowa: Series history
The series history of these two powerhouses only dates back to two matchups in just the last four seasons — UConn leads the all-time series 2-0. The teams first met in the Sweet 16 of the 2021 March Madness women's tournament , during which UConn routed the Hawkeyes by 20 points (92-72) and made a Final Four run. This was also the freshman season of stars Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark — in their first collegiate matchup against each other, the Bueckers and Clark put up 18 and 21 respective points.
The only other meeting between these two teams occurred a year and a half later in the championship game of the first Phil Knight Legacy women's tournament. UConn beat Iowa by a 86-79 margin, with Aaliyah Edwards notching a 20-point, six-assist performance for the Huskies.
