Pokémon GO City Safari is coming to Tainan, Taiwan!

Pokémon GO City Safari is coming to Tainan, Taiwan on March 9 and 10, 2024! Set off on a city-wide adventure as you discover the vibrant stories, new friends, and exciting Pokémon waiting for you in Tainan!

Whether you’re a resident of Tainan or a first-time visitor, your Pokémon GO City Safari will take you across the city in an all-new way—from historic landmarks to local favorites, get ready for a taste of the city with Pokémon GO by your side!

March 9, 2024, and March 10, 2024

10:00 AM – 6:00 PM local time

Trainers can either purchase a ticket for one day of the two-day event or a one-day ticket with an additional second day add-on. One-day tickets are NT$300 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency, plus any applicable taxes and fees) and are available for purchase on the Pokémon GO City Safari website. You will see “Tickets Available” next to the Pokémon GO City Safari: Tainan event ticket if it hasn’t sold out yet. Event gameplay will be available only at the date, time, and location specified on your ticket.

Note: Tickets to this event are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Tickets are first come, first served and are available for purchase while supplies last.

Say “你好！(Ni-hao!)” to Tainan in a citywide adventure!

Find a whole city of adventure waiting for you when you embark on a Pokémon GO City Safari! Encounter themed wild Pokémon throughout the entire city, complete City Safari-exclusive Special Research, and explore the rich culture in and around Tainan!

There’s no right or wrong way to enjoy a City Safari! This open format allows Trainers to enjoy the city-wide experiences at their own pace, catching Pokémon and making friends with other Trainers along the way.

Help Professor Willow research Pokémon across Tainan!

Ticket-holding Trainers can gear up to assist Professor Willow and Eevee in learning more about the Pokémon appearing during the event. And Eevee seems ready for a big adventure—Trainers will encounter Eevee wearing an explorer hat at the beginning of the City Safari Special Research!

We encourage Trainers to travel and explore the city with their new Eevee as a buddy. This event-exclusive Eevee can be evolved into any of Eevee’s known Evolutions, so Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, or Sylveon wearing an explorer hat can join the fun!

^ The only way to obtain these Pokémon wearing an explorer hat is by evolving an Eevee wearing an explorer hat using 25 Eevee candy.

Special Pokémon will appear in the wild!

Special Pokémon will appear across Tainan during the event! Plus, for the first time in Tainan, you’ll be able to encounter Skiddo, the Mount Pokémon! Skiddo will currently only appear during Pokémon GO City Safari events, but it may appear worldwide at a later date.

The following Pokémon will hatch from Eggs during the event!

Tip: You can upgrade your ticket with the Egg-thusiast add-on to unlock a 1/2 Hatch Distance bonus during the event! Ticket add-ons are active for both the Saturday and Sunday of Pokémon GO City Safari: Seoul.

Embark on an Eevee Explorers Expedition!

Don’t know where to start your adventure? With an entire city to explore, the Eevee Explorers Timed Research experience can help you set off on an exciting tour of notable locations, landmarks, and even some local favorite spots! Visit locations across the city to complete this event-exclusive Timed Research, which awards an additional encounter with Eevee wearing an explorer hat with a Tainan Location Card at each location you visit!*

*Ticket holders can receive up to eight encounters with Eevee wearing an explorer hat as a part of the Eevee Explorers Timed Research in addition to the Eevee wearing an explorer hat received as a part of the event Special Research. Trainers who purchase the second day add-on can complete the Timed Research a second time for an additional eight encounters with Eevee wearing an explorer hat.

In addition to our live events, we’re offering Trainers the chance to enhance their event experience with optional add-ons. Ticket add-ons are active for both days of Pokémon GO City Safari: Tainan—Saturday and Sunday. Trainers with the ticket add-ons will be able to take advantage of the bonuses even on the day that they aren’t taking part in ticketed gameplay.

In order to enjoy event gameplay of Pokémon GO City Safari: Tainan, you must be physically present in Tainan.

Simply open Pokémon GO in Tainan on the date and time stated on your event ticket. Trainers who do not have a ticket will not have access to the event-exclusive content even if they are physically present in Tainan.

• Event gameplay will be available at the designated locations throughout Tainan on the specified dates and times.
• Trainers will not be able to participate in the event outside Tainan even if they purchase a ticket.
• Tickets for this event, including the purchase of any add-ons, are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). There are a limited number of tickets available. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Child Accounts: Trainers with child accounts can attend events when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Their parents or guardians must purchase a ticket for themselves and for any children who will be attending this event. To register, the email associated with the parent or guardian’s Pokémon GO account must match the parent or guardian’s email address on file with Niantic Kids or Pokémon Trainer Club.

Trainers who have a ticket to the Pokémon GO Safari Zone event will have access to exclusive gameplay, but some features will be available to all Trainers. Trainers can participate in the Pokémon Air Adventures event from October 21, 2022, to October 23, 2022, no matter where they are in the city!

Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Taipei ticket holders will encounter Pokémon themed around the Pokémon Air Adventures, such as Flying Pikachu and Snorlax–they may even encounter Pachirisu, which is usually only found in certain regions. What’s more, for the first time in Pokémon GO, ticket holders will be able to encounter Shiny Finneon—if they’re lucky!

General Admission tickets are available now for NTD$380* and will grant access to gameplay within the event space at Da’an Forest Park from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time on the day of your choice. Those who would like to start their adventures early at 10:00 a.m. can opt to purchase an Early Access ticket instead for NTD$520*. Niantic recently announced a new Pokémon GO Safari Zone for New Taipei City, Taiwan. Read on below for more details:

Ready to catch the bug for our newest Safari Zone event? We’re buzzing with excitement over Pokémon GO Safari Zone New Taipei City. In conjunction with the New Taipei City government, we’ll be live in New Taipei Metropolitan Park from October 3 to 6.

Despite being one of the world’s most densely populated metropolises, New Taipei City has always strived to maintain the city’s biodiversity and natural scenery by transforming forgotten areas into beautiful new parks. The New Taipei Metropolitan Park is the largest city park in the Greater Taipei area and is famous for its waterside walkway and wildlife. Trainers will be able to find Scyther, Combee, and many Water-, Bug- and Grass-type Pokémon from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the park, as well as more than 60 tourist attractions across New Taipei City. From the historical old streets to scenic mountain areas, it’s your chance to make the most of this exciting city while catching Pokémon to your heart’s content!

No tickets are necessary for this event, and Trainers from near and far are all welcome to join in the fun. The event is hosted in conjunction with the city government of New Taipei City.

Safari Zone – New Taipei City

Pokémon GO Safari Zone returns to Taiwan this October! Join us from October 3-6 at the New Taipei Metropolitan Park, conveniently located just 20 minutes from downtown Taipei and 50 minutes from Taoyuan International Airport by train. Within the park grounds Pokémon not normally seen in the area and PokéStops giving out special 2 km eggs!

This event is admission-free and Taiwan’s only official Pokémon GO event of 2019, so make travel plans and secure accommodations well in advance.

Taiwan-based Pokémon Go trainers have the chance to catch a shiny Pinsir and a lot more at an upcoming Safari Zone event in Tainan.

The seasons may be getting colder, but that doesn't seem to stop Pokémon trainers from gathering together outdoors to catch an abundance of adorable little battle creatures. Taiwan-based players have a chance to fill up their pokédex as Tainan is set to play host to an upcoming Pokémon Go Safari Zone event next month.

Recently announced via development team Niantic's official blog , Taiwan's Tainan will become a pokémon trainer's playground from Thursday, November 1 through to Monday, November 5. Like other Safari Zone events before it , there will be a central hub for players to gather to catch pokémon together. This time the location will be the Tainan Metropolitan Park and the Chimel Museum. Previous events have seen thousands of people in attendance and it's safe to assume that this one will prove to be equally as popular.

Along with the regular array of pokémon that can be spotted around Taiwan's oldest city, players can also expect the appearance of rarer pokémon too. Among those that will be available to catch in the wild are generation 6's ancient rock/water type Relicanth and physic type Unown from the old Pokémon: Gold Version and Pokémon: Silver Version days. To top it all off there will also be a chance to catch a rare shiny Pinsir.

Pokémon Go is available to download now on iOS and Android.

It's looking like we're going to have another exciting month ahead of us, so let's get into it! We have a couple of repeat raids coming up for those who may have missed some of these great Pokémon when they were in the pool.
