Bike & Bulky Item Returns

If you wish to return your bike to us please keep it in the box it arrived in and call us on 01772 644340 and we will arrange a collection.

Please note the following:

• a) If we have sent you the incorrect bicycle, we will cover the cost of collection and delivery of the correct model.
• b) If we have delivered the bicycle you ordered, but upon inspection you decide it is not the bike for you, we will charge you £50.00 for the collection.

Please do not ride the bike as a full refund cannot be given if the bike has been used or damaged.

Return Items to a store

Any item (excluding food and underwear) can be returned to any Leisure Lakes Bikes store not just the one you made your purchase at, including those made online. The item must be returned in ‘showroom condition’, with its original packaging, tags and with a valid receipt/delivery note.

Wrong size or you don't like the item?

If returning items that are not suitable for either refund or exchange you are accountable for the delivery cost in returning it to us. You should always keep proof of postage and we advise you to use a ‘signed for service’ when returning goods.

New faulty items/ Wrong Item Received

If you have received items that are faulty or not what you ordered send them back to us (using the steps above) and we will cover the delivery cost of the return if it is within 14 days of delivery. If we have supplied the correct product, it is not faulty or it is outside of the 14 days we can not be liable for your postage charges. You should always keep proof of postage and we advise you to use a ‘signed for service’ when returning goods.

In the event that you have received items that are fault or not what you ordered, please send them back to us as soon as possible. Only in these cases will we cover the cost of the return shipping charges.

Faulty Items

If you have received items that are faulty please send them back to us using the steps above. Please include a covering letter describing the fault and if you would like the item replacing or refunding. Once the item arrives back at our Mail Order Centre you will receive an email notifying you about the progress. Faulty items are then forwarded onto the suppliers to confirm the warranty issue. Please be patient with us as we need to receive this confirmation from the suppliers before we can process your request for a replacement/refund.

When returning the item please use Royal Mail1 st Class Recorded* so that you have a tracking reference just in case! If your item arrived faulty we will refund your postage cost. If the item was in full working order at the time of delivery to you, we can not refund your return postage cost.

*In the event that you return a faulty/incorrect item we will refund your postage charge as long as it is 1 st Class Recorded or a lesser value service. We do not refund premium services.

Refunds will be processed using the same method of payment used for the original purchase. Credit and debit card refunds must be made to the card used for the original transaction, cheque payments will be refunded in cash but due to banking restrictions can only be refunded at least 14 days after the original purchase date. Due to the high incidence of fraud we regret that we are unable to offer any refund without a valid receipt/delivery note.

Refunds will be made for faulty or incorrect items, including any delivery charge incurred by the buyer (excluding ‘Special Delivery’) in the return of the item. If the products you ordered are delivered to you in good condition but you wish to return them for any reason we will refund the full value of the goods excluding any carriage charge upon receipt of your returned goods.

Items won’t be considered lost until after 15 working days of items beingdispatched. Once the 15 working days are up we will issue a refund or replacement.

Not received your order?

If you have not received your order please call us on 01772 644340 and a member of staff can confirm the shipping date. Unfortunately we cannot consider an item to be lost until 15 working days has passed (according to Royal Mail procedure). Once the 15 working days have passed we will be able to issue a full refund or resend your order.

Distinguishing features

This is a women's frame mountain bike with big sturdy wheel and is a 7 speed with a memory foam saddle.

The Trek Skye is a mountain bike with an aluminum Alpha frame. The frame comes in colors like teal, green and mermaid. Originally released in 2010, there are 10 versions of this bike. Due to the frame materials and other factors, we estimate that this bike weighs around 35 pounds. The Skye has fork suspension with 63-100mm travel.

The Skye comes with Shimano, Mountian and Mountain Mix components, including an aluminum, forged Bontrager stem, a steel, threadless, semi-integrated, semi-cartridge, VP-A68-TK VP-A71-TK headset and twist, Shimano, SRAM Rapidfire shifters.

The Skye has 9,8,7,10 speeds and has freewheel, Shimano SRAM PG 1020 rear cogs and a Shimano SRAM X7 derailleur.

It comes with Bontrager tires (NaN x NaN) and aluminum, disc, double-wall, tubeless Bontrager rims.

Skye S vs. Skye SL

I'm looking for a new bike for my daughter, she's currently about 4'10 or 4'11" and 100#. I think I've narrowed the search down to the Skye S or SL in a 13.5" frame. My question is whether or not the $180 difference is worth it. The main differences are a 100mm hydraulic fork, 9sp drivetrain, and Shimano brakes. Has anyone else considered the two? Which one did you pick and why? My biggest concern is weight to be honest, I want to introduce her to some singletrack this spring so it has to be capable of off road riding. Input?  

I went with an SLX for my wife. Better brakes and better fork. It is a great fit for her and she loves this bike.  

This is for my 9 year old daughter who will probably grow at least another 6-8", I don't know that I want to spend that kind of coin on her. If it was my wife I would with out question.  

I see. I think I would still go with the SL. It will hold the value and you can sell it or trade up in a year or two.  

My wife just got a Skye SL. The crankset is awful, that came off immediately. That bike rocks as a 1x9. The only other gripe about it is the wheels are kind of heavy. I figure both likely apply to the S. To me, then, the biggest difference between the two is the front fork, and as light as your daughter is, I wonder if the might do OK with the low-end fork on the S. Oh, and the color of the S is, I am told, gross and would gag a maggot. Which may trump everything.  

No complaints from my wife on the crankset or the fork on the SL. Of course.. we only ride "rail trails" and MUTs... no need for anything fancy. So far, my wife loves the SL and she says it's a major upgrade from her previous Diamondback bike. Agree... the bike is kind of heavy for it's size, but most mid-level aluminum mountain bikes are heavy anyway.  

^^To be clear, she loves her bike. For her, getting the fork upgrade (and the pretty color) was worth the extra money, and I agree with her there. And, to be fair, part of the reason the wheels are heavy is because I slapped some Big Ben's on there. Fantastic tire but they are heavy. Yall don't listen to me, I'm not into those new-fangled "gearshifters" and "suspensions"... why, when I was your age... oh never mind. That said, she's buy it for herself, but not for our kid.  

We just picked up a 15.5" Skye SL, and my girlfriend loves it. She's 5'4" and 124 lbs. It's a little heavy, but she shreds on it, just the same. We ride AZ singletrack, and so far, (one ride) the bike has done awesome for her. We're taking it to Sedona this Sunday, for a true test!!  

Here ya go. Soma Clarence bars. 165mm Raceface crankset on the way. RF 32 n/w single chainring, in green of course. No chain guide, that ring never misses a beat. Matching Welgo magnesium pedals. Thinking about going to an 11-32 cassette (she never uses the 34) and putting a short arm rd on there, although if I didn't have those parts laying around I wouldn't bother. Nobbies are back on, possibly to stay there, as wifey has discovered the joys of tearing around the woods like a maniac. A month ago she had never been off the pavement. Going 1x9 didn't hurt anything, she has plenty of range and she doesn't like fiddling with things so it suits her. She loves the bars. She gives the bike high marks for the ergonomics, the tires, the fork, and the seat. She really wants shorter cranks but after that I have been instructed to quit messing with the bike.
