While traveling with your dog can be a ton of fun, it can also be a bit overwhelming — especially if you’re trying to stay organized.

But one tried-and-true trick while traveling with dogs is to give your dog his very own travel bag.

Dog travel bags keep your dog’s stuff all in one place and are usually designed to carry things like food, bowls, toys and anything else your pup might need. That way, you know exactly where everything is when you’re on the go.

But there are a ton of dog travel bag options available online, so how can you find the best one?

The Dodo reached out to Irith Bloom, a certified professional dog trainer and owner of The Sophisticated Dog in Los Angeles, who said the best dog travel bags are ergonomic, lightweight and sturdy — and shared some tips for how to find the best one.

  • Best dog travel backpack overall: PetAmi Dog Travel Bag Backpack
  • Best all-black dog travel bag: Vumdua Dog Travel Bag
  • Best dog travel bag with food storage: Ruff Dog Travel Bag for Supplies
  • Best statement dog travel bag: POPPYPETS Dog Travel Bag
  • Best dog travel bag for safety: Dog Travel Bag Week Away/Overnight Accessories Organizer
  • Best dog travel bag for flying: Top Dog Travel Bag

Dog travel bag benefits

Travel bags for dogs are designed to hold your pup’s supplies, which makes carrying around items like dog bowls and food a lot easier.

And since dog supplies can get heavy, dog travel bags are usually designed to be super easy to carry.

“They are also usually lightweight and have convenient handles,” Bloom told The Dodo. “This makes them easier to use.”

And some dog travel bags are even airline approved, so you can take them as a carry-on while flying.

“Travel bags may even be specially made to fit under an airplane seat more easily,” Bloom said.

How to find the best dog travel bag

When looking to purchase a dog travel bag, look for one that’s lightweight yet sturdy, has comfortable handles and fits airline carry-on requirements (if you plan to use it for flying). And of course, pick one that you like the look of, which will definitely encourage you to use the bag more frequently.

“Look for features that will work well for you — everything from a color you like to a strap or handle that fits your hand well,” Bloom said. “Finally, consider the weight of the bag and its sturdiness … [these] can be conflicting features, but both are important. You want the bag to be as light as possible so it's easy to carry but also sturdy enough to make it through multiple journeys.”

To find a dog travel bag that’s high quality, pay attention to the details. “Check the hardware — especially the zippers — and examine the fabric and seams. If it looks like the bag would fall apart easily, it’s not a good choice,” Bloom said.

If you know you’ll need to feed your dog on the go — like if you’re camping or on a road trip — look for dog travel bags that come with insulated food storage, dog bowls and a water bottle holder. Some travel bags even come with a built-in mat to catch any spills.

Top-rated dog travel bags

dog travel bag

This dog travel backpack prioritizes comfort. Since most dog travel bags have an arm handle, this travel bag is unique in that it distributes the weight of your dog’s supplies on your back, making it a lot easier to carry. It also comes with a whole bunch of other perks, like separate pouches to hold your dog’s food, two collapsible silicone bowls, a water bottle holder and a built-in poop bag dispenser. You can choose from eight fun colors, so you can find one that matches your own luggage!

black dog luggage

This all-black dog travel bag is as functional as it is sleek. It has six pockets in total and comes with two separate food pouches that are insulated to keep food fresh. Two stainless steel bowls (which are always good to have) are included in this purchase as well as a built-in food mat for mealtimes on the go.

This dog travel backpack includes one large, insulated compartment for your dog’s food that can hold up to 25 cups of kibble at a time. It also has straps if you need to carry a towel, mat or blanket for your dog, which makes it pretty awesome for camping. And this bag is super ergonomic. It comes with comfy leather handles if you don’t want to carry it on your back for long.

The bag also makes feeding your dog really easy with its two separate insulated food containers, two collapsible silicone bowls and built-in mat.

10 Best Dog Travel Bags In 2024: Reviews & Top Picks

Last Updated on March 22, 2024 by Nicole Cosgrove

sitting inside traveler pet carrier bag with travel accessories

While it is possible to carry all your pet’s provisions in a standard backpack a dog travel bag provides you with compartments and pockets that are specifically designed for items like leashes, treats, and food. And many of the bags available come with their own folding or collapsible bowls. Bag designs range from tote bags to backpacks, with the ideal choice depending primarily on how much stuff you need to carry, whether the bag needs to be stowed during transport, and whether you need collapsible bowls.

Below are reviews of 10 of the best dog travel bags that you can buy to help make your next trip with your dog more comfortable and convenient.

  • The 10 Best Dog Travel Bags
  • 1. PetAmi Dog Travel Bag – Best Overall

PetAmi Dog Travel Bag

While backpacks tend to offer more comfort and convenience when carrying them, they don’t offer as much space, compartmentalization, or stability as handled tote organizers like the PetAmi Dog Travel Bag .

The PetAmi comes in a good range of colors and designs and has two main compartments within the bag. One holds the two food containers that are included with your purchase, and the other similarly sized compartment can be used to hold blankets, coats, and other larger items. Multiple pockets also provide space for leashes, toys, and more. As well as the food containers, the bag also includes two collapsible bowls. The whole bag has a capacity of 22 liters (6 gallons), which should include enough room to hold food for a few days, but you may need something larger if you’re going away for a week or more.

The reasonable cost, decent size, and convenient and intelligent compartmental design of the bag make this the best available dog travel bag, but the cloth food containers are a challenge to clean, and the mesh pockets tend to leak their contents when you open the top.

  • Compartmental design keeps everything in place
  • Includes two food storage containers and two bowls
  • Plenty of pockets and compartments
  • Food containers are tricky to clean
  • Top pockets could do with being zippered
  • 2. Bundaloo Dog Travel Bag – Best Value

Bundaloo Dog Travel Bag

The Bundaloo Dog Travel Bag has a very similar design to that of the PetAmi above, but it does have a smaller capacity of approximately 16 liters (4 gallons), compared to the 22 of the PetAmi. However, it is very competitively priced, being one of the cheapest options on this list, and it has some good features.

The main section of the bag holds the included food storage containers and can be used for coats or blankets and leashes. There are also multiple pockets and the top pocket of the Bundaloo is zippered so everything stays in place. This bag also includes two collapsible containers.

It is small and is best suited to small breed dogs for day trips or, at a stretch, a weekend away. If you’re traveling any longer than this, you will need to take additional food in separate containers or use Ziplock bags. However, the low cost and the well-laid-out design make the Bundaloo the best dog travel bag for the money.

  • Very competitively priced
  • Plenty of pockets, including a zippered pocket at the top
  • Includes two storage containers and two collapsible bowls
  • 3. Mobile Dog Gear Dog Travel Bag Deluxe – Premium Choice

Mobile Dog Gear Dog Travel Bag Deluxe

Backpacks are more convenient for carrying, which makes them ideal for hiking or camping trips, and also if you have a number of bags to carry. The load is spread across the bag and your hands are left free to carry other bags or to hold your dog’s leash. Although they tend to be smaller than handbags, this isn’t true of the Mobile Dog Gear Dog Travel Bag Deluxe . Its 24-liter capacity means it can carry more than the PetAmi and the Bundaloo above. It includes two food carriers and two collapsible bowls, and it also includes a placemat and is made from heavy-duty polyester to prevent damage and prolong its life.

It does have one large pocket, but if you want something with compartments this deluxe bag may not be the best choice. The design won’t be to everybody’s taste, either, plus the Mobile Dog Gear Dog Travel Bag Deluxe is expensive.

  • The backpack is easy to carry
  • Includes two food containers and two collapsible bowls
  • Hardwearing design
  • Only one pocket
  • 4. ARCA PET Travel Bag – Best for Puppies

ARCA PET Travel Bag

If you’re traveling with a puppy, you don’t necessarily need as much storage space as you do for an adult dog, but you do still need plenty of space for food and bowls, while also having your hands free to be able to walk or, more likely, carry the puppy.

As such, a backpack design is your best option, and this ARCA PET travel bag , with 18 liters of carrying capacity, has enough room for puppy provisions while also being easy and comfortable to carry around. As well as the main compartment, it has pockets on either side, a double pocket on the back, and a pocket and poop bag or wipe dispenser on the front. It also includes one food storage container and two collapsible bowls.

The pockets are convenient, but because there are so many, they do reduce the amount of space in the main compartment of the bag and because you end up packing the main bag itself, there can be a problem with the stitching of the seams bursting. For a small dog or puppy with limited carrying requirements, though, it is a good quality bag for convenient carrying.

  • Plenty of pockets for organization
  • Includes a poop bag dispenser pocket
  • Lightweight and easy to carry
  • Main compartment feels small
  • Seam stitching can burst if the bag is overfilled
  • 5. Higher Level Airline Approved Dog Travel Bag

Higher Level Airline Approved Dog Travel Bag

Taking your dog on a plane means you will need provisions for the journey, and ideally, these need to be on hand so that you can give your dog food and water when required. An airline travel bag needs to be big enough that it can hold everything you need but not so large or awkwardly shaped that it won’t be allowed on as hand luggage.

The Higher Level Airline Approved Dog Travel Bag measures 16 x 14 inches so it will fit under airline seats and should be accepted by all airlines. It includes two waterproof food containers and two collapsible food bowls. It has a large pocket on the front, pockets on either side, and a poop bag dispenser, which can be very convenient when you take your dog for a toilet break outside the airport.

The bag can also sit conveniently over extended baggage handles so it can be stacked on the trolley or while walking. It is a little more expensive than some of the alternatives, and although it can be worn as a backpack it isn’t comfortable to do so, but it is a well-sized bag that is very well suited for taking on airplanes.

  • Airline-approved bag fits under plane seats
  • Include two food containers and two collapsible bowls
  • Can be stacked and carried with other luggage
  • Not comfortable as a backpack
  • 6. Lekesky Dog Travel Bag

Lekesky Dog Travel Bag

The 25-liter (6-gallon) Lekesky Dog Travel Bag is also airline compliant, fits under airline seats, and can be hooked around luggage handles. It has multiple pockets and side pockets, a poop bag dispenser, and includes two food containers and two collapsible bowls. It can be worn as a backpack and its dimensions mean that it is comfortable to do so. This one also comes with a placemat which can be rolled or folded and stored inside the bag when not in use.

If you opt for the gray design, it costs less than the purple bag, too. It is a sturdy bag, rather than one with collapsible sides, and because it retains its shape it is convenient for storing and moving, but something softer might prove more comfortable on the back.

  • Airline compatible
  • Decent price for the gray backpack
  • Includes food storage containers and collapsible bowls
  • Sturdy design not the most comfortable for carrying on the back
  • 7. Tidify Dog Travel Bag

Tidify Dog Travel Bag

Dog travel bags need to be portable, so they are easy to carry, while still offering enough room to carry whatever you need. The size of the bag you need will ultimately be determined by how many accessories and items your dog takes away, but also by the amount it eats and the length of time you’re going away for.

The Tidify Dog Travel Bag is large, with a 33-liter (8.5-gallon) capacity, and it offers plenty of pockets so that you can organize the items you take, but it is quite cumbersome. It comes with two food containers and two collapsible bowls, and a large front pocket that opens out to provide a feeding mat. It is also reasonably priced, considering what it includes and the size.

The bag includes a first-aid pouch, but this doesn’t include any first-aid items and is really just a pouch with first-aid written on it and a checklist of items to include.

  • Large capacity
  • Good price for the size
  • First-aid pouch doesn’t include any first-aid items
  • May be too large for some
  • 8. Unique Dog Travel Bag

Unique Dog Travel Bag

The Unique Dog Travel Bag is something of a luxury travel bag and does cost a little more than most of the alternatives. However, rather than the silicone folding bowls, it has two stainless steel bowls. It also has an elevated dog bowl stand located in the front pocket, and it comes with a first-aid pouch and two food storage containers.

Although stainless steel bowls are better quality than silicone folding bowls, they are very small, and your dog will likely need multiple bowls. Because they are made of metal and don’t fold, they also take up more room than collapsible bowls. The elevated feeder is a unique touch, but it won’t be suitable for aggressive eaters who will easily topple the bowl and cause a mess.

The product is a good idea and has some good features, but it may be more convenient to replace the metal bowls with collapsible ones and ensure that the bag is full when using the elevated feeder.

  • Stainless steel bowls are sturdier than collapsible silicone ones
  • Elevated feeder is good for some dogs
  • Bowls take up more room
  • Bag can fall over when your dog is eating from the elevated bowls
  • 9. Modoker Dog Travel Bag

Modoker Dog Travel Bag 1

The Modoker Dog Travel Bag has nearly 30 liters (8 gallons) of capacity and multiple pockets, including one bag dispenser. It also has an internal Velcro divider and includes two food storage containers and two collapsible bowls. The travel bag is a little expensive for its size, although you do get all the accessories you need.

Although the bag is sturdy and seems well built, the Velcro divider is prone to moving around and the magnetic pocket sealer also tends to pop open, especially if the bag is full.

  • Includes food containers and collapsible bowls
  • Magnetic pocket catches are prone to popping open
  • Velcro divider is prone to coming loose
  • 10. The Original Doggy Bag Backpack By Rubyloo

The Original Doggy Bag Backpack By Rubyloo

If you enjoy taking your dog on day trips or out hiking with you, you will want a backpack that is lightweight and easy to carry. It doesn’t necessarily need the huge capacity that some of the travel bags offer but you can still benefit from the portability of the bag and the convenience of being able to carry food, treats, and other items.

The Original Doggy Bag Backpack by Rubyroo is a backpack with just 18 liters (4.5 gallons) of capacity so it won’t be suitable for weekends away, even, but the single food bag can be used to carry enough for one or two meals, and the two collapsible bowls can be used for water and food. There’s also a treat bag and the backpack has a poop bag dispenser at the bottom, making it easy to grab and go.

The backpack is comfortable and handy for days out, but it is a little expensive for its size and you will want something larger for anything longer than a day out.

  • Easily accessible poop bag dispenser
  • Includes a treat bag
  • Small capacity only suitable for a day out
  • Expensive for its size
  • Buyer’s Guide: Choosing the Best Dog Travel Bags

A dog travel bag is really just a tote bag or a backpack , but it typically includes multiple pockets and maybe an internal wall or compartment that can be used to enhance organization. In most cases, dog travel bags also include collapsible bowls and dog food storage containers, and you can find some that have features like poop bag dispensers or even an elevated feeding platform. Although many of the bags look similar, there are some important features to consider to ensure that you get a bag that is best suited to your requirements and those of your dog.

Caucasian woman walking outdoors with dog jack russell terrier in a special backpack.

There are many types of dog travel bags and general bags available, but the two most common and beneficial are the tote organizer and the backpack. These offer decent storage while still being easy to transport.

  • Tote Organizer: The tote organizer tends to be square or rectangular and has a large internal compartment that is used to store the majority of provisions and items. The design of the bag means that it is typically carried in the hand using two handles, although some do include a shoulder strap and may also have backpack-type straps. These usually offer the most carrying capacity and are especially convenient for putting the trunk or sliding under the seat of a plane.
  • Backpack: Backpacks are convenient because they can be slung over one shoulder or strapped over both shoulders, spreading the weight and making them easier to carry. However, what they offer in convenience and comfort, they tend to lose in capacity and organization. Best suited to day trips and if you need to keep your hands free, for example, to carry a puppy or to hold a dog leash, these are portable and convenient.
  • Dimensions & Capacity

Whatever style of bag, you will need to consider the dimensions and capacity of the bag to ensure that it will carry everything you need. At the very least, a dog travel bag will usually be used to carry food, leashes, and a toy or two. It may also carry a dog coat, blanket, water bottle, and food bowls, according to your activities and how long you are packing for. Up to 30 liters (8 gallons) can be considered a good size for a weekend, or perhaps a few days for a smaller dog breed, and if you need more space than this, you might need to consider alternative arrangements or having an additional storage bag for extra food and supplies.

The vast majority of dog travel bags include collapsible bowls. These are silicone and they concertina down to a frisbee shape. They take up very little room in the bag, but they can be small and they won’t last forever. If you do find a bag that includes stainless steel bowls , these bowls are stronger but they don’t fold down, so they take up a lot more room in the bag. They also have to be quite small to fit in the bag so they won’t hold too much food.

  • Food Storage Containers

As well as food bowls, many of the bags include food storage containers . These enable you to store dry food, are usually waterproof, and negate the need to use plastic bags and other storage methods. Many of the bags on our list above include two containers, which means that you can fill one for a short trip and use the rest of the space for additional storage or fill both if you are away for a few days.

  • Poop Bag Dispenser

While food bowls and containers are quite commonplace, one feature that is less prevalent is a poop bag dispenser. These take the place of a small pocket. You can put a roll of poop bags inside and then pull a single bag from the dispenser, as needed, so you don’t have to open the bag and search for the roll every time.

woman holding a used dog poop bag

While most of the bags have large central bags that can be used to hold a selection of items, you will usually find at least one external pocket as well. External pockets are handy for keeping items that you need quick access to, like a leash or treats. And, you can even put your car keys in one of the pockets, as long as it has a zipper or other secure fastening.

  • Do You Need a Dog Travel Bag?

A dog travel bag is really just a standard bag with compartments and other storage solutions, as well as the usual inclusion of travel bowls . If you have a decent backpack or another bag that offers enough room, you don’t really need to buy a separate, dedicated dog travel bag. However, in the same way that a lot of new parents have dedicated changing bags, having a go bag for your dog so that it is ready to travel or head out with you whenever you want, is a good idea.

PK paw divider

There are a surprising number of dog travel bags available, including both tote and backpack designs, and with a wide variety of dimensions and volumes. There are those with travel bowls and even one or two with permanent stainless-steel bowls.

Above, we have included reviews of 10 of the best dog travel bowls and found the Petami Dog Travel Bag to offer the best compromise of capacity and portability at a reasonable price. For value hunters, though, it is the Bundaloo Dog Travel Bag that appeals, although it is quite a small bag and may only be suitable for dogs with small appetites.

Scroll down for a dozen great pet carriers for dogs and cats, including a space-age pod that's perfect for naps and an  Arlo Skye carrier that attaches to your favorite carry-on—but first, a few tips to keep in mind while you shop and plan.

What size pet carrier will fit under an airline seat?

Size requirements vary by airline, so always double check with the one you’re flying for the latest pet guidelines before departure. Here are size and weight specifications for  JetBlue (17" x 12.5" x 8.5"),  American Airlines (18” x 11” x 11” for soft-sided bags, 19” x 13” x 9” for hard-sided kennels), and Delta and  United (both 18” x 11” x 11”). Make sure your pet has room to stand up and turn around while inside.

Does a dog carrier count as a carry-on?

Pet carriers must fit under the seat in front of you. However, they can effect your luggage allotment. On JetBlue, for fares above Blue Basic, a carry-on suitcase, backpack, or duffel is allowed so long as it fits in the overhead compartment. However, on other airlines, like American and Delta, your pet carrier replaces your carry-on bag, and your second item is limited to a personal item.

What type of carrier should I get?

It depends on what size pet you have and how you travel. A soft side carrier or backpack carrier is easiest to fit under an airplane seat, and may be more comfortable and breathable for your pet.

Think through your typical (non-pet) travel routine and how you’ll need to adjust it when your personal item is dedicated to your pet. If you often travel with another person, that person can store things you’ll want accessible during the flight in their personal item, but if you’re traveling solo, you’ll probably want to pick a carrier with additional storage for your boarding pass, earphones, and other small essentials. Backpack carriers are best for smaller dogs or cats, though all come with weight guidelines to help you determine whether it'll fit your pet.

Paravel Cabana Pet Carrier

  • Dimensions: 11"L x 20.5"W x 11"H
  • Weight maximum: 20 pounds

One of the chicest new additions to the pet carrier world is Paravel's latest ideation, which is largely inspired by their wildly popular Cabana Tote (yes, the one that’s sold out seven times). The design team has resized it to fit a pet up to 20 pounds and added comfortable elements like a washable liner and mesh panels for airflow, all while maintaining the sustainability that the brand is known for by constructing it out of 38 upcycled plastic water bottles. It folds down to be completely flat for easy storage, even if you live in a tiny Upper West Side apartment like me. But the best part? The ability to embroider your pet's name or initials on the side of the carrier. Traveling with your pet has never been more fashionable—or sustainable. — Scott Bay, associate editor

Wild One Travel Carrier

  • Dimensions: 17.5"L x 11"W x 10"H
  • Weight maximum: 16 pounds

Tested by  Traveler  contributor Lauren Dana Ellman, Wild One’s design-friendly pet carrier comes in tan, spruce green, and black, and fits dogs that are 16 pounds and under. “It’s clear this carrier was designed with versatility, durability, and functionality in mind,” Ellman wrote. "There are mesh walls for added breathability, a built-in collar clip, a detachable shoulder strap that pulls double duty as a leash, and a cushion that can be rolled out to use as a plush dog bed or travel mat when you get to your destination.” That interior mat is machine washable, too.

Away pet carrier

  • Dimensions: 18.7"L x 10.8"W x 10.75"H
  • Weight maximum: 18 pounds

It should be no surprise that Away’s pet carrier is just as streamlined and chic as their hit luggage. The bag, which fits pets up to 18 pounds and comes in standard black or an au courant gray-blue, is incredibly thoughtfully designed. Standout features include plush, removable sherpa bedding, plenty of pockets for you to store travel documents, and a side pocket with drainage holes (so you can store your included collapsible water bowl inside). Plus, wide openings on both the side and top for easy access, mesh panels on three sides for maximum ventilation, and a roll-up screen so your pet can see what's going on outside. As for safety: Innovative exterior latches can fasten the carrier to a car seat belt, and an interior safety-collar clip prevents adventurous pets from scampering out as soon as you unzip the carrier, And, of course, it’s designed to strap onto any type of Away luggage, making toting this carrier a breeze, even through a crowded terminal. — Juliet Izon

The Spruce Pets / Neo Ruiz

From keeping your hands free while running errands to providing a restful perch for tired paws on long walks, a dog backpack carrier is a great way to bring along a small to medium-sized furry friend. There are various styles of dog backpack, which will allow a dog to sit, lie down, or rest in an upright pose. Of course, we also want the option to let its adorable head peek out.

We purchased and tested 14 of the most popular and top-performing dog backpacks. Each one was sent to a volunteer tester and their dog at home. While our dog participants were toted around, our human testers took careful notes. Following a methodology written in advance, our testers evaluated each dog backpack for its performance, quality, comfort (for both paw-ticipants ), and overall value.

Our favorite for small breeds is the Kurgo Nomad Backpack , which resembles a standard backpack with a zippered pocket on the front. The main compartment has a supportive frame and sturdy bottom to provide a pleasant space for dogs under 15 pounds. If you have a slightly heavier dog—up to 25 pounds—the K9 Sport Sack Plus 2 Dog Carrier is our top pick. This style puts dogs in an upright position, with their front legs out and room for their tail, putting their face right over your shoulder. Both are easy to wipe clean and offer additional pockets for carrying treats, collapsible water bowls, and more. There were also several other dog backpacks that our testers loved, which may work even better for you and your dog.

Best Overall for Small Breeds

Kurgo nomad carrier backpack.

  • Performance 4.5 /5
  • Quality 4.5 /5
  • Comfort 4.5 /5

Waterproof bottom

Clip to keep dog attached to bag

Additional space for other items

Can be used as a carrier or backpack

Window for visability

Easy to clean

Dog can be fully covered

Could use more ventilation for warmer climates

Lacks more rigorous hiking features like a waistbelt

The dual-use Kurgo Nomad Carrier Backpack is suitable for small dogs that weigh less than 15 pounds, and it can be configured as either a backpack or a carrier, including both backpack straps and two beefy, dual-carry handles.

Our tester—who used the bag to separately cart around their small, 11-pound dogs—found the bag to be comfortable for all involved: “I think that this pack is very well constructed and well-balanced with several points of adjustment.”

The Kurgo Nomad benefits from a classic backpack look that doesn’t immediately suggest a pet carrier. Its broad back panel also offers several ways for your dog to travel, since the compartment can be fully opened or closed, or just allow enough room for a snout to poke out. There’s an interior tether that you can attach to your dog’s collar to keep it in place.

The interior of the Kurgo is lined with waterproof fabric, and the internal pad where your dog sits can be removed and machine washed. The exterior is similarly water-resistant, with a DWR coating that should keep your dog dry next time you’re caught in a downpour together. In addition to the external pockets, which include a large, zippered front compartment and two side stow pouches, the Kurgo Nomad has an interior tablet sleeve.

The bottom of the bag is waterproof with ventilation panels on each side. The zippered main compartment also has two separate zippers, so you can either zip it fully closed or zip up a separate mesh panel for additional ventilation. While we appreciated the multiple ways to ventilate, the mesh is a little too heavy-duty to allow as much airflow as our tester would have liked.

Dog Tester’s Weight: 11 pounds | Size Recommendation: Up to 15 pounds | Colors: Red, Blue | Dimensions: 15 x 11.25 x 7.5 pounds

Best Overall for Medium Breeds

K9 sport sack plus 2 dog carrier.

  • Performance 5 /5
  • Comfort 5 /5
  • Quality 5 /5
  • Value 3.5 /5

Detachable storage bag

Even distribution of weight

Mesh side pockets for ventilation and storage

Cooling side and back panel

Flap of fabric to keep fur from getting zipped up

Sternum strap and wide shoulder straps for support

Wide base to accommodate a dog's tail

Dog faces towards human's back, so it's easy to check on them

Easy to store when not in use

Finding a comfortable fit may take a little adjusting

If your dog is comfortable in an upright position, the K9 Sport Sack Plus 2 Dog Carrier will make it easy for you to bring it along on adventures. The backpack comes in three sizes, which can accommodate dogs ranging in weight from 8 to 40 pounds. The sizing chart also has length guidelines, so you should measure your dog from collar to base of tail to find the right fit.

Our tester’s senior dog is under 30 pounds and has joint issues, but once inside the backpack it was able to join its human on walks without discomfort. “This product is really helpful and distributes the weight of my dog well,” our tester said.

Once securely inside the backpack, a dog’s head and front legs will remain uncovered for snoot boops, high fives, and paw shakes. The sides are ventilated with small mesh pockets, and a padded back panel helps to keep your dog cool. For a human’s comfort, the bag features wide straps designed to relieve pressure and a padded back panel. However, our tester found perfectly distributing a larger dog’s weight to be a little finicky, taking multiple strap adjustments before they found a comfortable configuration.

The K9 Sport Sack also includes a 14 by 9 inch detachable storage bag, for carrying additional items like a collapsible water bowl, snacks, keys, and more.

Dog Tester’s Weight: Under 30 pounds | Size Recommendation: 8-40 pounds and 20-23 inches in length for large | Colors: Black, Mint, Gray, Tie-Dye | Exterior Dimensions: 12 x 11 x 22 inches for large

Best Outdoors

Kurgo g-train dog carrier backpack.

  • Comfort 4 /5

Sturdy construction with interior fiberglass rods

Reflective strips

Window for viability

Adjustable hip, chest, and shoulder straps

Padded shoulder straps and back

Storage compartment

Dog faces away from human’s back, which pulls weight in opposite direction

Placement of optional stabilizing rods reduces internal space for dog, and our tester found the rods difficult to install

Made with waterproof, dirt resistant fabric and featuring reflective strips and a sturdy base, the Kurgo G-Train Dog Carrier Backpack is designed for bringing your dog along on outdoor excursions.

“My dog was adequately supported, and I could walk around hands-free comfortably and set the pack down with him in it if needed,” remarked our tester, whose dog slightly exceeds the manufacturer’s suggested weight of up to 25 pounds.

Padded shoulder straps, along with an adjustable strap at the sternum and hip, offer support and help to alleviate pressure. However, when the backpack is on the bag is designed so that dog and human are facing in opposite directions. For our tester, this aspect of the backpack made it feel like the weight of their dog was also pulling away. The carrier comes with two optional stabilization rods that can be placed inside, but that slightly reduces the interior space, and our tester found installation to be tricky.

Mesh on both sides provides ventilation along with slim pockets for easy access to anything you want to keep on hand, like a water bottle or snacks. An internal padded pocket can accommodate a laptop, and there are loops on the exterior for attachment of other items.

Best for Older Dogs

Apollo walker pet carrier backpack.

Mesh top and sides with ability unzip windows

Internal leash clip to secure dog via collar or harness

Interior padding

Sturdy yet light construction

Thick, padded shoulder straps

Strap at sternum and waist

Two side pockets

Bulkier than other styles

If you want to give your dog a place to rest while continuing with your walk, this sturdy dog backpack will allow you to continue enjoying the outdoors together. Our tester was pleased with the lightweight construction of the Apollo Walker Pet Carrier Backpack, and their senior toy poodle had plenty of space to relax.

With mesh sides and top, your dog will be able to feel the wind across its little furry body to keep it cool. You can also unzip each mesh panel to let your dog poke its head out, and an internal clip that attaches to a collar or harness will keep your dog securely inside the backpack. For the wearer of the dog backpack, thick padded straps, along with a sternum and waist strap, will alleviate pressure on the back and distribute your dog’s weight.

The stable construction of this dog backpack offers a protected encasement for your pup, but you may find it more difficult to store, because it takes up more space.

Best Airline-Approved

Mr. peanut's aspen series airline approved backpack pet carrier.

Mesh on four sides

Side pockets are large enough to carry a water bottle

Designated strap for sunglasses, pocket for phone, and compartment for ID

Removable fleece pad

Airline approved (always check with your airline)

Folds up when not in use

Dog can enter from the sides and the front

Seat belt attachment

No chest strap, which our tester felt was needed for support

Only available in gray

Streamline your airport experience with the Mr. Peanuts Aspen Series Pet Backpack. “The build alone gives you comfort that your pet is comfortable on your back,” shared our tester who found the additional storage pockets and the removable fleece pad to be highly convenient for daily use and while traveling. The bag is designed for use as a pet carrier on commercial flights, but you should always confirm with your airline provider before arriving at the airport.

The backpack features breathable mesh on both sides, the front, and the top, and all four placements can be unzipped for access and viewability. Our tester found the adjustable shoulder straps with padding to be comfortable but felt that a sternum strap would make the backpack feel more secure. It also folds up easily for storage.

Dog Tester’s Weight: Dachshund, but did not provide weight | Size Recommendation: Up to 14 inches long and 9 inches tall; up to 16 pounds | Color: Gray | Exterior Dimensions: 18 x 14 x 9 inches

Best Sling Carrier

Yudodo reflective pet sling carrier.

Available in lots of colors

Strap has a pocket for a phone

Drawstring closure

Reflective strip

For small dogs that tend to be anxious, the cross-body design of this carrier will keep your furry friend close by. It distributes the weight of the dog more evenly than a shoulder bag and gives you the hands free experience of a backpack.

Our tester selected the medium sized YUDODO Reflective Pet Sling Carrier for their 12-pound dog. She felt that it offered ample space to keep her dog protected and secure without feeling restricted.

The lightweight sling weighs less than a pound on its own, has a drawstring opening, and is made with a breathable mesh. The adjustable strap has a large buckle closure and a pocket designed for a smartphone. Our tester, who also has a baby at home, found the sling to be very comfortable and convenient for taking her child in a stroller and her dog in the sling on walks and running errands.

Best High End

Manhattan portage sirius traveler dog backpack.

Dog & Co.

  • Quality 4 /5

Dog can move around inside to find a comfortable position

Removable waterproof nylon interior cushion

Interior clip to secure dog via collar or harness

Deep outer pockets on sides and a zipper pocket

Sternum strap

Bag stands upright on its own which made it easier for tester to place their dog inside

Zipper flap that prevents catching on fur

Easy to wipe clean

Only available in black

The Sirius Traveler Dog Backpack from Manhattan Portage offers comfort for canines and their human companion. “This backpack gave us an added sense of security, and we really appreciated the attention to detail for the dog and the pet parent that was put into it,” remarked our tester.

The parcel is designed to stand on its own, making it easier to place your dog inside, where it will find a cushioned base. The bag is recommended for dogs under 15 pounds and is designed to give a dog plenty of space to move around as it pleases. An interior clip attached to a collar or harness will keep your dog safely inside, and a mesh panel at the top can be unzipped without your worrying about your dog escaping.

Each side has a mesh panel for airflow and a deep pocket with an elastic top. Our tester used the side pockets for walking essentials like a retractable leash and a collapsible water bowl. For more valuable items like your keys and phone, the front of the bag has a zippered compartment. Adjustable shoulder straps, a sternum strap, and padding along the back add comfort and help to distribute the backpack’s weight.

Cutest Design

Morik lion's den backpack.

Very lightweight with a sturdy base

Padded shoulder straps and adjustable waist strap adds stability

Breathable mesh panels on each side

Decorative lion ears, mane, arms, and tail add a touch of whimsy

Plush accents are not chew resistant

The eye-catching design of the Lion's Den Dog Backpack Carrier from Morik is practical, sturdy, and lightweight. While testing with an eight-pound Pomeranian, we found it convenient and comfortable to wear as a front-pack, keeping our doggie tester in full view while our hands remained free. The padded straps are adjustable and well positioned to give you and your dog a delightful experience, and the adjustable waist strap adds an extra layer of welcomed stability and support for the back of the wearer.

To get your dog inside, the top portion has a zipper located underneath the mane that glides open and close. Once your pup is seated inside, there is a leash tether connection and a firm padded platform with nylon fabric on one side and cozy fleece on the other. With the lion's mane portion zipped up, the design allows a dog's head to pop out. For security, a built-in toggle cord covered in soft fabric gives you the ability to customize the size of this opening to best fit around your dog's neck. For airflow, the carrier features mesh panels on each side along with elastic rimmed pockets with ample space to securely stash a leash in one and a collapsible water bowl in the other. Morik includes a bright yellow collapsible water bowl with each purchase, but we found it to be rather large for our small dog.

To find the right size for your dog, we highly recommend measuring their height while they are sitting down along with their current weight. The medium size is recommend for dogs up to 10 pounds, and the large is suitable for dogs up to 20 pounds. The plush lion legs, tail, and ears are adorable, but if you have a dog that loves to chew, they will likely find these accents irresistible.

Dog Tester: 8-pound Pomeranian | Size Recommendation: Up to 10 pounds (medium); up to 20 pounds (large) | Colors: Black, yellow | Exterior Dimensions: 13 x 8 x 14 inches (medium); 14 x 8 x 16 inches (large)

Our favorite for small breeds (under 15 pounds) is the Kurgo Nomad Backpack . It has a front flap that can be unzipped and opened, providing a window for your dog to be admired, along with an interior clip to keep your dog securely inside. For medium sized dogs (up to 25 pounds), the K9 Sport Sack Plus 2 Dog Carrier is our top pick. It’s lightweight and easy to clean, and your dog is free to give you a kiss whenever it pleases. It also comes with a removable pouch in case you want to bring along more snacks. If you are looking to keep your dog a little closer, the YUDODO Reflective Pet Sling Carrier offers the hands-free mobility of a backpack and more evenly distributes your dog’s weight than a shoulder bag.

How We Tested the Dog Backpacks

We selected 14 of the latest, top-performing dog backpacks available and sent each one to a real home with a dog for real-world testing.

Each of our canine participants was placed in and carried around in a dog backpack. Their human companions gathered insights and made notes about their shared experiencs over the course of two weeks and then provided their feedback within the following categories: performance, comfort, quality, and value. They were also asked whether they would recommend the dog backpack they tested.

Equipped with this first-hand information, we ranked and categorized our top picks to simplify your search for the perfect dog backpack to suit your needs, habits, and preferences.

What to Look for in a Dog Backpack

Carrying capacity.

All of the dog backpacks we tested come with recommendations on weight, and some also include measurement guidelines. If your dog exceeds the weight by a pound or two, you might still be able to get it inside. You should also keep in mind how much weight you want to carry while walking around. The more structured dog backpacks, like the Sirius Traveler Dog Backpack from Manhattan Portage , tend to weigh a little more than foldable styles, like the K9 Sport Sack Plus 2 Dog Carrier .

Ventilation

To keep your dog cool and comfortable, make sure the bag you select is appropriate for the weather. Mesh panels, drawstring openings, and zippered windows allow for airflow to keep your dog cool in their backpack but may also leave it exposed to the elements. Of course, for the ultimate in airy ventilation, try giving you pup a ride in one of these bike dog baskets .

Yes, backpacks that are designed to carry a canine are safe for very small to medium-sized dogs. You should select a dog backpack that provides enough space to keep your dog comfortable and provides support for you and your dog. Dog backpacks are not interchangeable with regular backpacks.

Yes, but you need to find the backpack that works for you and your dog. You need to be comfortable carrying your dog on your back, and your dog needs to be comfortable inside the backpack. Some dog backpacks allow for a dog to sit and lay (more likely for smaller doggos) while others, like our pick for medium breeds, the K9 Sport Sack PLUS 2 , puts the dog in an upright position, which might not be comfortable for all dogs. Pay attention to your dog for any signs of discomfort .

No, some dogs are too big to fit into a dog backpack. You should also consider how much weight you want to carry on your shoulders and back to help you determine whether a dog backpack works for you and your pupper. If you usually carry your dog in a bag, then a dog backpack will probably be an easy transition and a welcomed respite for one side of your body.

A big airline is relaxing its pet policy to let owners bring the companion and a rolling carry-on

F ORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — American Airlines is relaxing part of its pet policy to let owners bring their companion and a full-size carry-on bag into the cabin.

Until this week, people who carried a pet into the cabin — which involves paying a $150 fee — could only have one other small item that fit under the seat.

Anything bigger, like a carry-on bag with wheels, needed to be checked — for a $35 fee. Or they could put the pet in the cargo hold.

Now American is letting passengers bring a pet in the cabin and also bring a regular carry-on bag or a personal item — just not both bags.

The old policy struck some pet owners as unfair, since they were already paying a pet fee.

Gary Leff, a travel blogger who first wrote about the change, recalled traveling years ago with a Yorkshire terrier.

“It was always frustrating that the dog counted as the carry-on even though I was paying the extra (pet) fee that was sometimes more than the ticket for me,” he said Friday.

Leff said he thinks American's change will reduce the urge for travelers to falsely claim that their pet is a service animal that flies for free.

An American spokeswoman confirmed that the rules change took effect Thursday.

“We made the change to provide a more convenient and comfortable experience to customers whose pets fly American," she said.

American Airlines just made it easier and cheaper to bring pets on flights

  • American Airlines updated its policy to make flying with pets easier.
  • Now, flyers can board with a pet in addition to a carry-on bag or a personal item.
  • Before, flyers with a pet could only bring one small item. Any other carry-ons had to be checked.

Insider Today

American Airlines has streamlined its policy for passengers traveling with pets.

The airline is now allowing passengers to bring pets inside the cabin alongside a regular carry-on bag or a personal item, according to the Associated Press . However, passengers can not bring both a carry-on bag and a personal item.

Related stories

Previously, passengers who traveled with a pet could only bring one small item that fit beneath the seat in front of them, the outlet reported. Larger carry-on bags had to be checked for a $35 fee on top of the standard $150 pet fee .

Carry-on pets refer to cats or dogs that meet the specified requirements for age, size, and destination, according to its policy. Pets can also be placed in American Airlines cargo.

"On March 28, American updated its cabin pet policy allowing customers who are traveling with a pet to bring a personal item or a carry-on bag that fits in the overhead bins," an American Airlines representative told BI. "We made the change to provide a more convenient and comfortable experience to customers whose pets fly American."

The latest policy update comes after American Airlines announced in February it will raise checked bag fees . One checked bag used to cost $30, and the second was $40. Now, the first checked bag for domestic flights is $35, and the second is $45.

The airline also changed how customers earn frequent flyer miles and loyalty points.

American Airlines revises its policy for bringing pets and bags on flights

Updated on: April 1, 2024 / 10:08 AM EDT / CBS/AP

American Airlines is relaxing part of its pet policy to let owners bring their animal companion and a full-size carry-on bag into the cabin.

Until this week, people who carried a pet into the cabin, which involves paying a $150 fee, could only have one other small item that fit under the seat. Anything bigger, like a carry-on bag with wheels, needed to be checked for a $35 fee. Or they could put the pet in the cargo hold.

Now American is letting passengers bring a pet in the cabin and also bring either a regular carry-on bag or a personal item — just not both bags. The old policy struck some pet owners as unfair, since they were already paying a pet fee. Passengers must still pay a fee, but their pet no longer counts as a carry-on.

An American spokeswoman confirmed that the rules change took effect Thursday. She couldn't explain the reason because the airline's corporate offices were closed for Good Friday, and decision-makers were not available.

Gary Leff, a travel blogger who first wrote about the change, recalled traveling years ago with a Yorkshire terrier.

"It was always frustrating that the dog counted as the carry-on even though I was paying the extra (pet) fee that was sometimes more than the ticket for me," he said Friday.

Leff said he thinks American Airlines' new policy will reduce the urge for travelers to falsely claim that their pet is a service animal that flies for free, enabling them to bring a carry-on as well.

Even with the new policy, however, traveling with a pet takes a lot of planning and research ahead of time, and many factors could prohibit Fido or Felix from being allowed into the cabin. For one thing, there is a maximum total number of pets allowed per cabin, which varies depending on the type of aircraft.

On United, the total maximum of four pets is allowed in Economy class on the Airbus 319, while Economy on the Airbus 319 allows a total maximum of six pets. In all instances, individual passengers are allowed to bring a maximum of two pets in one single carrier.

Other U.S. airlines that allow pets on board include Delta, American, Southwest, Alaska and Frontier. On most, pet carriers count as carry-ons, according to the American Kennel Club.

Before traveling with a pet, make sure to carefully read through an airline's pet policies, as well as those for any additional airlines for connecting flights. Country-based restrictions also apply, so when traveling abroad research the pet-entry requirements of your destination country.

Further information on how to ensure the safety and comfort of your pet during the journey can be found on the American Veterinary Medical Association's site.

April Fools' Day pranks: Apps to translate baby stoner sayings, a ghostbuster at Tinder

Every april 1, brands and companies want to get some laughs – and attention – with goofy new 'product' launches. here are some ideas from companies such as sweetgreen, welch's and omaha steaks..

If you don't like Mondays, this one may especially be grating. It's April Fool's Day , when you should trust no one and question everything.

The roots of April Fools' Day may date back before to before the 15th century. But the modern-day April Fools' Day has become a day to prank a friend, family member, co-worker − or your customers.

Even though some companies have had April Fools' pranks backfire , marketers continue to issue spoof products in attempts to get some laughs and attention.

Already ahead of April Fools' Day, 7-Eleven has hinted at a possible prank product: In addition to new Lemon Lime, Green Apple and Sweet Orange flavored 7-Select sparkling waters, out now with partner Miracle Seltzer, there's a fourth flavor coming April 1: Big Bite Hot Dog.

The hot dog-flavored water "combines the mouthwatering experience of 7-Eleven’s iconic Big Bite Hot Dog into one refreshing beverage – ketchup and mustard included," the convenience chain says in a press release . "Say goodbye to the days of alternating bites of a hot dog with sips of a beverage, now those on the go can swap the bun for bubbles."

Krispy Kreme: A special doughnut deal for April Fools' Day

Will Big Bite Hot Dog sparkling water be sold? Its availability will be announced April 1. However, some reporters were sent a can of the drink. USA TODAY can confirm that it definitely smells like hot dog water and has a smoky aftertaste.

If you are interested in trying it, both 7-Eleven and Miracle Seltzer have hinted at having some to give away on their Instagram pages. (If you get a can, share with a friend as it's 16 ounces.)

Here's a roundup of many of the brand-related April Fools’ gag announcements. You've been warned.

Sour cream & onion flavored soda

Despite the proliferation of crazy-flavored products including Peeps-flavored Pepsi , Frank's RedHot sauce-flavored Vlasic pickles and Doritos Nacho Cheese-flavored liquor , healthy soda brand OLIPOP and Pringles are not really teaming up to bring to market a Sour Cream & Onion soda.

The product would have been "a match made in heaven … to bring the delicious, tangy flavor of Pringles’ Sour Cream & Onion flavor to life in liquid form with prebiotic benefits," the companies said.

Stoner lingo translation app

Another dream team prank product: Rosetta Stoned, a mobile app from Rosetta Stone and medical marijuana company Fluent , that "bridges the conversational gap between novice users and seasoned stoners in any social setting."

Da da decoder

Infant equipment site BabyQuip has its own language-bridging lark: the “Baby Translator” app, to decode your baby's secret language.

"Say 'goodbye' to restless nights as you decode your baby's coos and cries instantly, providing you with the understanding you need as a parent, all in one convenient app," it promises.

An AI-powered plush doll

Custom stuffed animal maker Budsies already makes selfie plush dolls with a built-in voice recorder. Its April Fools' spoof: Artificial intelligence-enabled dolls that "come programmed to learn everything about you and to become your new best friend."

A 50-pound Bearabuddy

Sorry to the 3,500 or so who have already signed up to buy Bearaby's Jumbo Benji plush toy, which is four times the size of its regular weighted plush toys and twice as heavy as its heaviest weighted blanket . This isn't actually going to be sold. But it is real and will be making its home in the lobby at The Child Mind Institute in Harlem to welcome children and their families. More weighted plushies are due the day after April Fools' Day, the company says.

A sleeping bag to go bananas over

The Dole Banana Peel Sleeping Bag, conveniently promoted as being available on April Fools' Day only, is made from actual banana fiber and "allows parents to escape into their own cocoon of sensory deprivation."

A full-body cleaning suit

Outrageous clothing company Tipsy Elves has a special product for April Fools' Day: The Mopsie. You don't need paper towels anymore, you can use your body to clean up those messes, with this "innovative, wearable microfiber towel jumpsuit" for "effortlessly soaking up spills and messes with ease." There's also a Baby Mopsie for "hard to reach places."

Korean BBQ deodorant

Kevin's Natural Foods , which has paleo- and keto-certified ready-to-cook and easy-prep entrées, is touting a new line of personal care products inspired by its food dishes including Korean BBQ Deodorant, Cilantro Lime Toothpaste, Lemongrass Basil Shampoo and Tikka Masala Sunscreen.

"These new face, body and hair care essentials will help fans prioritize self-care inside and out," the company says.

Omaha Steaks' meaty sprays

Omaha Steaks has its own personal care prank product: Meaty Spritz sprays with flavors such as Omaha Fog, Hog Haze, and Cock-a-Doodle-Dew.

"The world’s first protein-infused, flavor-packed, portable pump spray … (to) enjoy all the mouthwatering flavors of your Omaha Steaks gourmet favorites no matter how far away from the kitchen you are!" the company says.

Sriracha toothpaste

Asian sauce maker Lee Kum Kee , which makes Sriracha Chili Sauce and Sriracha Mayo Dressing, is introducing – not – its Siracha Mayo Toothpaste. It's "fiery and creamy goodness … is sure to spice up your morning dental routine."

Post-salad dental kit

Need some less powerful toothpaste? Sweetgreen offered these fanciful personal hygiene products as part of its Sweetgreen After Salad Kit, which is "designed with your pearly whites in mind … offering everything you need to freshen up post-meal."

Choose from Miso Ginger Toothpaste, Spicy Cashew Mints, Lime Cilantro Dental Floss, and Sweetgreen Toothbrush and Floss Picks.

Fruit juice lip gloss

More personal care prank products: Welch’s Juicyfuls Juicy Fruit Lip Gloss – now available in five flavors: grape, orange, peach, strawberry and raspberry – made with real juice from Juicefuls fruit snacks so "you get that irresistible sweet flavor you love, all in a lip gloss that's as fun as it is nourishing."

Protein-powered seasonings

Quest Nutrition , maker of protein powder, snacks and other products, has a prank product line of seasonings including All Purpose, Lemon Pepper, and Garlic Herb, each of which deliver "21g of protein, 2g of net carbs and less than 1g of sugar."

If you want to try Quest's real products, you can use code NOJOKE for free shipping on online orders over $49 April 1-3.

Superpowered Superfeet?

These would certainly come in hand on a run, but – sorry – it's a jogging joke. Superfeet SuperBoost Power E-Soles gives you 8 hours of continuous battery-powered boost, for almost Iron Man-like propulsion. "All the comfort and support of Superfeet , now with electrifying performance," the company says in a video about the prank product. "It's like having a powerful electric motor in your shoes."

Scotch tape-branded Scotch?

This shenanigan seems like a blend that could stick: Scotch Whisky by Scotch Brand. The whisky "features a nose of cherry wood and a delightfully smooth finish that hits like a well-wrapped gift."

Who you gonna call when ghosted? This new title at Tinder

Dating app Tinder announced a new April Fools' Day hiring quest for a Vice President of Ghost Hunting to help combat "one of dating culture’s most prevalent vices – ghosting," a practice inflicted on 78% of singles already in 2024 (an untrue fact from Tinder).

Patrón's bringing back a beloved liqueur. No kidding.

Patrón patrons get some good news today. The premium tequila maker chose April Fools' Day to announce the return of its Patrón XO Cafe tequila-based coffee liqueur, which was discontinued in 2021. Since production ceased, devotees took to social media and signed a petition asking parent company Bacardi to bring it back.

Made with Patrón Silver tequila and Arabica bean coffee – the dry liqueur can be sipped straight, in cocktails and as dessert topping – Patrón XO Cafe will begin arriving in stores again later this month.

Say it with dead flowers

Don't forget to put roses on your April Fools' Day list. UrbanStems has this "special" delivery, The Dead Inside Collection, "an assortment of dead flower bouquets, dead plants, half empty vases, and more for the pessimist in your life." But, for real, check UrbanStems' social media accounts including Instagram for how to get 20% off an order of real flowers.

Cheesecake Factory's real deals

The Cheesecake Factory  also has a deal that's no joke: Sign up for the chain's Cheesecake Rewards loyalty program on April 1 to get an Any Slice, Half Price reward, redeemable for 50% off any slice of cheesecake or layer cake, with any food or beverage purchase (no gift cards).

Those who were members before April 1 will find something special in their account on Monday, too: either a free slice of cheesecake each month for a year, a free whole cheesecake, a free slice of cheesecake, $5 off $25 purchases, or $10 off $40 purchases. (All rewards redeemable by April 16; can be redeemed for dine-in, to-go and DoorDash.)

New merch from Dunkin', bonus points in app

Dunkin' announced it is going back to its roots and rebranding to just "Donuts'" on Monday, April 1. To celebrate the rebrand, the company is selling "Donuts'" merch, including sweatshirts that read "DONUTS," on ShopDunkin.com .

Additionally, Dunkin' Rewards members will receive 3x bonus points on any donut order through the mobile app on April 1.

Urban Outfitters launches 'Name Three Shirts' movement

Urban Outfitters said it is launching a global movement to "stand in solidarity against band-tee-shaming" by launching a new collection called "Name Three Shirts."

The t-shirt line "playfully mocks the gatekeeping attitudes of older generations who insist that band-shirt wearers should be required to name songs by those artists," the company said in a news release.

The line, which features revamped logos from bands such as The Grateful Dead, Joy Division and Led Zeppelin, is a "playful jab at the attitudes of older generations, and fights back against the misogynistic undertones of the infamous ‘name three songs’ line of questioning," Urban Outfitters said in the news release.

The collection of shirts is available online and in select Urban Outfitters stores starting April 1. You can shop the collection online here .

Auntie Anne's, Frontier Airlines collaborate on Pretzel Plane

Auntie Anne's pretzels and Frontier Airlines announced they have collaborated on the newest addition to Frontier's fleet: the Pretzel Plane.

According to a news release, the plane includes new in-flight entertainment featuring Auntie Anne's pretzels rolled seat-side, the "luxurious" smell of hot, fresh pretzels throughout the cabin and airplane-shaped pretzels if you're feeling hungry.

Moe's Southwest Grill, Sonic team up to introduce a Queso Slush

Two popular fast food chains announced a collaboration that is sure to be polarizing.

Moe's and Sonic announced a new beverage, the Queso Slush, a queso-flavored slushie. "The frozen goodness of a Sonic Slush meets the delicious flavor of Moe's queso."
