Friendship bracelets are a new Swiftie trend.

It’s been a long time coming, but Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is finally here. Now that you’ve settled on your concert ‘fit, you might be wondering what essentials you should bring to the Eras Tour The Eras Tour is like a mini Swift-themed music festival, and you want to be prepared for anything and everything that may happen on the day of your show.

By just looking at Swift’s Eras Tour setlist alone, you know that a portable charger is necessary to make it through the over three-hour show. Actually, Austin Ashburn ( @austinashburn4 ) who attended the second night of The Eras Tour in Glendale told Elite Daily that from start to finish, the show is “around five hours long.” That’s “not even including the car rides and line waits.” You’ll want to be prepared for a full-day adventure with everything you need in your bag. Speaking of which, most stadiums have very strict bag policies. Finding the right purse or backpack to match your Eras outfit is essential, but you want to make sure it’s actually one you can bring into the venue and get past security.

To help with packing for the Eras Tour, here’s everything you may want to bring to the Taylor Swift concert. There are even a few items you never would have thought to include on this list.

This portable charger is what to bring to Taylor Swift's 'Eras Tour.'

Ashburn said the biggest Eras Tour essential is a portable phone charger. Even if you charge it beforehand, it may not last the entire day. Swift’s set is over three hours long, but you also have two opening acts and merch lines to wait in. If you’re using your phone the entire time, you’ll be draining your battery.

Bring a portable charger (or two) along with your charging cable, so that you have a backup. This power bank from Amazon has nearly 62,000 5-star reviews, with many raving about how quickly it brought their battery back to life.

Heart-shaped sunglasses are something to bring to the 'Eras Tour' inspired by Taylor Swift.

This is definitely something you may not be thinking to include in your bag, but Ashburn recommends bringing sunglasses. He argued that “most of the shows are taking place in the summertime,” and said he regretted not bringing them to the Glendale show.

Luckily, you can easily find sunglasses to match the Swift Era you’re channeling. For instance, Swifties going as her Red era may want to wear these heart-shaped sunglasses ($11) that she wore in the “22” music video. She also wore yellow heart-shaped sunglasses ($7) in the “You Need To Calm Down” video, but any color would do as long as it matches your era’s shade.

These earplugs are things to bring to a Taylor Swift concert like the 'Eras Tour.'

Many Swifties are raving about Loop earplugs on TikTok after wearing them at the first two shows of the Eras Tour. TikToker @__e.rxn said she “1000% needed” them for the show. They not only helped to protect her ears from the loud music and fans screaming, but they also helped with her anxiety walking through the large crowds in the stadium.

If you’re someone who also gets easily overstimulated, add these to your bag ASAP. Loop has some super cute color options as well, like gold, silver, and pink to match the Lover era.

Swifties will want to bring friendship bracelets to Taylor Swift 'Eras Tour' to exchange with other ...

Bringing freebies to hand out to other fans at concerts is something that BTS’ ARMY is familiar with, but Swifties are also getting in on this fun tradition now. Instead of K-pop photo cards or cup sleeves, Swifties have decided to hand out friendship bracelets at the Eras Tour.

In true Swiftie fashion, these friendship bracelets are inspired by the different eras or feature inside jokes only OG fans would get. TikToker @laughygirlmaris shared some of the hilarious Eras Tour friendship bracelets she and her fiancé made together for her show. A great kit to get you started on your DIY journey is this one from Amazon that comes with colorful beads, letter beads, and two rolls of cord.

Check the bag policy at the 'Eras Tour' before going, so you know what to bring to Taylor Swift conc...

Most stadiums have a clear bag policy, but be sure to check the bag requirements ahead of time to avoid getting turned away at security. These clear bags from Etsy are super cute and match the different eras.

A card holder is something to bring to Taylor Swift concert like the 'Eras Tour' since most stadiums...

Similar to the clear bag rule, a lot of stadiums are becoming cashless as well, which means that you’ll want to bring a card if you want to purchase any Eras Tour merch at the venue. To make sure your credit cards are safe in your clear bag, it’s a good idea to get a small wallet. If you’re going bagless, a cute Eras Tour card holder to attach to your phone is a stylish idea.

If you happen to be a Capital One member, be sure to put your credit card in your wallet as well. One Swiftie, Lauren ( @laurennnp ), got upgraded to floor seats the day of the show by taking a video at one of the stadium’s Capital One booths, which had the elevator from the Taylor Swift Capital One commercial . If you post your video to social, you’ll be entered to win a “free seat upgrade.” To verify, you just have to show your Capital One card or log into the Capital One app on your phone.

This water bottle is something you should bring to the 'Eras Tour' Taylor Swift concert.

Many Swifties said that Glendale sold out of water on night two of the Eras Tour. TikToker @ashleypaigenicholson revealed that she had to buy a water bottle from the merch booth to stay hydrated. Lauren suggests checking your stadium rules and adding an unopened water bottle to your bag if it’s allowed.

Different stadiums have different policies, so definitely look into it beforehand. For example, the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles allows empty reusable water bottles. If your venue is also cool with bottles, you might want to get something collapsible that can easily fit in your clear bag.

A lip balm is something to bring to Taylor Swift 'Eras' tour, and since Selena Gomez and Taylor Swif...

Lauren also argued that Chapstick is an essential item to throw into your Eras Tour bag. After all, you definitely don’t want to have chapped lips while trying to sing all 10 minutes of “All Too Well.” Since Swift is known for her iconic red lips, you may want to get something that’s tinted red. She would definitely approve of having her BFF Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty lip balm in your collection.

These Silky Toes shoes are foldable and comfortable shoes to wear to the Taylor Swift 'Eras Tour.'

TikToker @brittany.tucciaro’ s tips for the Eras Tour include bringing comfy shoes . You may have found the perfect glitter boots to pair with your Fearless ‘fit, but you have to remember the show is pretty long. If you can, pack some sandals or these Silky Toes foldable shoes that TikToker @jizellemaia recommends putting on after you snap all your pics for Insta. An even better idea is to just choose comfortable shoes from the start, like Keds .

These hand sanitizers are what to bring to the Taylor Swift concert.

Another practical recommendation of what to bring in your Eras Tour bag from @jizellemaia is hand sanitizer. If you plan on eating, you might not have time to stop by the bathroom to wash your hands — especially if the lines are long. Having a pocket-sized sanitizer in your bag will come in handy.

Bath & Body Works has amazing scents and some cute holders that you can clip to the outside of your bag to save some space. You can also find a holder to match your era, like a gold glitter one for Fearless , pink hearts for Lover , and purple butterflies for Speak Now .

Tissues are a great thing to bring to Taylor Swift 'Eras Tour' if you think you'll cry.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt personally victimized by a Taylor Swift song. Between “All Too Well” and “Tolerate It,” it’ll be shocking if you don’t end up shedding at least a tear or two. To make sure you’re ready for a cry sesh, be sure to bring along some tissues. These can also be useful if you need a napkin for that stadium food you’re grabbing before the show.

What To Know Before You Take Kids To The Taylor Swift Eras Tour: Parents Guide

Taking your kiddo to their first big concert is a big deal! Now, you have the option of watching the Eras Tour movie with your kids.

Honestly, there’s no bigger concert right now than the Taylor Swift Eras Tour. Taylor plays for 3 1/2 hours on stage (without breaks), and her opening acts play for about an hour and 20 minutes before her.

The Eras Tour movie is a little shorter clocking in at 2 hours and 45 minutes.

If you are taking kids or dropping off your teens, we’ve compiled a parents’ guide to this specific tour to help you prepare for the event.

And trust us: it is a BIG EVENT . ( BTW- How many times can we say big in this post? SO MANY TIMES. )

This guide is full of important information that should work for every concert you are heading to, regardless of the city.

Here’s your parents guide to Taylor Swift Eras Tour… Are you ready for it?

How Can You See The Sold Out Eras Tour? The Eras Concert Movie

Taylor is a Mastermind- we all know it.

This tour has sold out every venue in every location, making getting tickets challenging. If you are buying tickets to the tour, be sure to check out this information on how to spot a concert ticket scam .

So what’s a Swiftie to do?

Head to Disney+ because Taylor recorded and released the Eras Tour Concert (Taylor’s Version) movie to the masses.

What Parents Need To Know About The Eras Tour Movie: Age Rating

The movie has an official PG-13 rating. So, is the Eras Tour movie appropriate for kids under 13?

While this is expected to be a similar experience to her tour performances, there are some things parents should be aware of.

In this section, I’ll explain the age rating of the Eras Tour movie.

Parents Guide To The Eras Tour Movie

First of all, a PG-13 rating could be given for the use of F-bombs. And yes, Taylor does cuss in her songs (as do the participants singing along).

And I can confirm that the songs contain #alltheswears you know and love (?) from Taylors songs.

Please note: not only does Taylor sing cuss words (including multiple F-bombs) the crowd does as well. Your child will 100% hear some sweary language if you take them to the Eras Tour or watch the movie.

Mature Content: Is There Sex Or Nudity In the Eras Tour Movie?

You may also want to know that there is one song in particular with suggestive movements. I won’t lie; it’s steamy, but there’s no on-screen sex or nudity in The Eras Tour movie.

If your youngest kiddos are with you and it gets a little too provocative, fast forward during “Vigilante Sh!t” might be your best parenting move.

There is another song called Willow that opens the folklore set. This one has some witchy vibes and gives off coven energy.

Photosensitivity Warning

Sequences of flashing lights and darkness occur. If anyone in your family has issues with this, be advised.

Do Some Taylor Swift Homework: Listen To The Eras Tour Song List Before The Kids Go

Taylor has a TON of songs, but she can’t sing them all for you at the concert. So, I think listening to the setlist is key to preparing your kids for what they’ll hear live.

Does Taylor Swift Cuss In Her Songs?

Taylor was pretty clean when she first started out as a country singer, but her music, style, and lyrics have evolved over time.

She does indeed cuss in her songs, including dropping some F-Bombs.

Not only does Taylor Swift sing them, but the crowd at the concert also amplifies them by singing along loudly. This guide to the Eras Tour would not be complete without a list of Taylor’s cuss words.

A casual radio listener may be surprised at the explicit lyrics, so here’s what you need to know about the times Taylor will sing a curse word during the Eras Tour.

What To Bring To the Eras Tour

Since you’ll be there for a long time- and maybe stuck in the parking lot afterward even longer!- go ahead and use this list to prep what to take to the concert.

Stadium Bag Policies

Each location will have a different bag policy. Some require TOTALLY clear bags only (NFL stadiums).

So check with your location before assuming your normal purse will work.

Size matters!

Make sure you measure your bag before you attempt to bring it in, as some stadiums will refuse entry to larger bags.

List of Things To Bring to The Taylor Swift Concert

  • portable battery for your phone (plus phone cord!)
  • empty water bottle (can fill inside stadium)
  • completely clear bag if an NFL Stadium (12 x 6 x 12 is usually the largest size allowed)
  • snacks for the car after the concert. You’ll be waiting in the parking lot for up to 3 hours, so be prepared with some post-TS snacks.
  • poncho or rain gear
  • Concert Earplugs . We’ve seen a lot of younger kids really miserable because the concert is just too loud for them. Consider bringing earplugs along just in case.

Items Not Allowed At A Taylor Swift Concert

  • camera bags
  • diaper bags
  • seat cushions (unless medically necessary)

Bring and Trade Friendship Bracelets: Parents Guide to the Eras Tour

Why are people trading friendship bracelets at Taylor Swifts Eras Tour concerts?

It returns to the lyrics from You’re On Your Own Kid (Midnights). Taylor sings the line:

So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it, you’ve got no reason to be afraid. – Taylor Swift , You’re On Your Own Kid

Say less, Tay Tay! The Swifties are on it.

Fans are making bracelets and trading before the shows as a way to create and foster community. Most of these trades are happening in the parking lot before the show starts, but we’ve seen lots of people trading with fellow Swifties in their seat sections.

13 eras tour guide for parents. Friendship bracelets

Examples of Eras Tour Friendship Bracelets

Some of creating bracelets with full song lyrics, and some are creating them with the titles of the songs or albums. Some of them are even more creative and niche- we’ve seen some wild ones out there!

But this is a friendly community activity that will help your kiddo feel connected to other fans at the concert.

Don’t be afraid to ask to trade with others or to gift a bracelet to someone!

To avoid any issue with security and trying to bring in a bag of bracelets, go ahead and plan to wear them when you walk in. After that, it will be a simple process to walk up and exchange with a fellow fan!

Pack Snacks In The Car For Post-Concert

The best tip we’ve seen for this guide to the Eras Tour is to pack your patience for after the tour: and a snack bag for the parking lot wait.

There have been reports of sitting in traffic for 1-3 hours post-Eras Tour just to leave the parking lot. If that happens to you, you’ll appreciate planning ahead with a small cooler of snacks for the wait.

What To Wear To The Eras Tour: Outfit Ideas

This isn’t your typical jeans and a t-shirt event. Moms: this includes YOU! Go ahead and dress up with your kids and embrace the bejeweled moment.

There are themes and niched costumes and sparkles galore! Honestly, anything goes.

What To Wear To The Eras Tour Movie: Taylor Swift Outfits

taylor swift eras tour outfits (1)

The number one suggestion we’d make: dress in something you are comfortable wearing for a long time. You will be at this experience for at least 4 hours, but it is potentially an all-day event.

Comfortable shoes are a MUST.

We know, we know, the cute cowboy boots are tempting.

But unless you’ve broken them in, please reconsider. You and your kiddo may regret that choice by the end of the night!

Here are some items you may want to add to your outfit that are popular at the concerts:

  • I Love TS Shirt (made popular by Tom Hiddleston at the beach)
  • Glitter and mesh top
  • A Lot Going On At The Moment (22 song shirt)
  • 22 Hat (she wears this hat during the song 22 and then gives it to one lucky fan!)
  • Rainbow sequined mini dress
  • Romantic off the shoulder dress

Make A Plan To Get Ready Before The Show

Your hotel room may not be ready, but you’ll want to start getting dressed for the show.

What’s a young Swiftie to do?

First, check with your hotel. Many are opening ballrooms or conference rooms for pre-concert prep if the rooms are not available yet.

We’ve seen lobbies full of Swifties getting their glam on- so you will not be alone if that’s what you have to do.

But you might also want to plan on arriving a day earlier OR even consider what you can do in the car. This may include bringing portable car chargers for your straighteners or curling wands.

Merchandise Purchases

Merch is a VERY big deal for the Eras Tour.

If your child is interested in the most popular items (blue crewneck sweatshirts or quarter zip sweatshirts) you’ll want to arrive early. Like stupid early. As early as the parking lot opens early.

These items DO sell out.

Some locations are offering merchandise sales the day before the concerts even start, so be sure to double check the situation at your location.

The Best Taylor Swift Eras Tour Merchandise Tip: Once Inside the Stadium, GO UP.

Most people will stop at the first merch tent or truck or line they see.

The smartest Swifties will have read this guide to the Eras Tour and will know that more merch is being sold on the higher concourses.

Go ahead and take that elevator early and head to a higher floor. There usually are more merchandise options up there- and most have ZERO lines.

You can also pop out during a song to hit the merchandise lines- which is a great plan for parents who feel comfortable leaving their older teens alone for a bit.

Countdown To Taylor’s Kick Off: Know When To Be Back At Your Seat

Typically, you’ll see 2 opening acts at the Ears Tour. They hit the stage around 6:30pm every night.

Taylor usually comes on stage a few minutes before 8pm (could be as much as 10 minutes before 8pm).

If you leave your seat between the opening acts, be sure to know when to return.

The audio cue is when you hear “Applause” by Lady Gaga starting. This lets you know that you have about 5 minutes before the show will start.

clock for taylor swift tour countdown.

The next cue is a giant clock on the stage screen with a countdown timer. Your audio cue is “You Don’t Own Me” by Dusty Springfield.

You’ll have about 2 minutes.

Get back to your seat when this song starts because Taylor Swift is about to rock your world!

Loud Noises And Explosion Warning: Fireworks and Flashing Lights At The Eras Tour

For sensitive kiddos, please be aware that there are pyrotechnic moments and loud noises during the concert.

We put earplugs on the list of things to take for a reason!

Additional note for photosysitive children: the wrist bands will flash and blink all night long. This could be a trigger for some people.

If your stadium is open air, you’ll also have fireworks at the end of the night.

eras tour nashville bag policy

Stand For As Much Of The Eras Tour As Possible

Parents: take note!

The crowd will stand for the entire concert.

If you have a shorter child going with you, be prepared for them to be blocked or need to be held to see the stage or screens.

Swifties will not sit for the performance (at least not for most of it). If you have an aisle seat, you might make out a bit better but those in the middle of the row could be blocked from the view.

Remember when we said to dress comfortably? This is why.

When Can You Pee During The Eras Tour Movie?

This might be the most important part of the guide to the Eras Tour. But it’s also the most depressing section.

We hate to break it to you: but there is really no good time to go, run and pee during the Taylor Swift Eras tour movie

The best we can offer:

  • 31 minutes when she changes from Lover to evermore
  • 45 minutes there’s applause after Champagne Problems and the next song has a bit of a set up to it. You can go, run and pee during this portion.
  • 1:20ish minutes During All Too Well . It’s a 10-minute song that gives you ample time to dash out to the bathroom. It’s a GREAT song, however, so keep that in mind. But when you gotta go, you gotta go!
  • During Vigilante Sh!t if you have young ones who may not need to see the steamiest moves from Taylor.

bracelets guide to eras tour. light up wristbands at taylor swift concert.

Light Up Wristbands Tips

When you come into the stadium, you’ll be given an interactive light up wristband. This will work with the music, flashing to the beat. It’s an incredible sight to see the whole stadium light up together!

The wristband comes with a little tab that you pull out to activate the battery and the lights.

If you want to keep this band as a souviner, KEEP THAT LITTLE TAB.

You can put it back into the slot after the concert and it will save the battery.

If you don’t want to keep the band, you can drop it in a recycling bin that will be available at all exits.

Parents Guide To The Eras Concert Final Tips

Pack your patience, leave the negativity at home- just Shake It Off!

This is one big, inclusive, fangirling and fanboying event. The Swiftiverse is passionate about their Mother, Taylor. And as we’ve noted many times… it’s BIG.

This means there will be a lot of people trying to enjoy the same great artist. Most stadiums are set up to handle large crowds, but keep an eye and ear out for security instructions during the event.

And know that you won’t get home quickly (even if you plan on taking public transportation- the trains and buses are running, but there are going to be tons of people utilizing the same modes).

Talk with your kids in advance so they know what to expect. We’d also suggest watching some videos (Tik Tok and Instagram Reels are great bitesized moments for this).

We hope this parents guide to the Eras Tour helps with your concert plans!

Hi. Every kid regardless of age will need to pay the ticket in whole price?

It would depend on each venue! Most places require any child age 2 or older to have a ticket, but we'd suggest checking with the venue directly.

5 Things To Know Before Seeing Taylor Swift At “The Eras Tour”

Byline photo of Brady Snyder

Taylor Swift is touring for the first time since 2018 and has released four studio albums — Lover, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights — in the five years that followed her Reputation Stadium Tour. Swift announced The Eras Tour on Nov. 1, 2022, just weeks following the announcement of Midnights, her tenth studio album.

The timing of the announcements led some to believe that The Eras Tour would essentially become a Midnights-centric tour, but that wasn’t the case. Swift opened the tour on March 17 in Glendale, Arizona with a 44-track set list that spanned much of her discography to date.

Since a showing of The Eras Tour is a long concert bringing unprecedented fan turnout, you’ll have to consider different things than other concerts when preparing to see Swift on tour.

Wear Comfortable Shoes

The Eras Tour can extend beyond five hours in length when you consider openers, intermissions and Swift’s lengthy performance. Though exact total times will vary based on the openers and final set list at each venue, Swift’s typical set list runs roughly three hours and 13 minutes.

At the March 17 show in Glendale, fans remained on their feet for the entirety of the show, and other showings to date have displayed the same fan involvement. That’ll mean attendees will need to stand up to catch a glimpse of Swift for hours straight, most likely standing on concrete stadiums. To stay comfortable and avoid missing out, wear running shoes, quality sneakers or other sturdy shoes to the concert.

Don’t Stand In Line For The Merch Truck

The Eras Tour has brought incredible demand for tour merchandise, and some items have sold out at showings within minutes of gates opening. Though some merchandise items are available on Swift’s online store , others — like the highly-sought blue crewneck — are exclusive to the tour.

Gates typically open for 6:30 p.m. showings two hours before the scheduled start times. A large merchandise truck usually opens at noon, with lines forming even before that. Though people have suggested standing in line for the merch truck hours before entering the venue, that isn’t the best way to be successful.

Instead, wait in line after passing through the security checkpoint in front of the stadium’s gates. There are a multitude of merchandise stands inside the venue that have stock of all the most popular merchandise items. Waiting in front of the stadium gates will allow you to be the first to enter the venue, all but guaranteeing access to merchandise.

However, keep in mind that not all merchandise stands have the same items available. Be sure to glance at the red tapestry showcasing available items before getting in line to wait.

Bring Earplugs. Seriously.

A ton of people have suggested that concert-goers wear protective earplugs to The Eras Tour shows, and it’s easy to dismiss the idea. Of course, after paying hundreds of dollars to see Swift, attendees want to make sure they are enjoying the atmosphere to the fullest.

Regardless, people going to The Eras Tour should seriously consider wearing earplugs to the concert. It’s not necessarily to protect the wearer’s ears from the sound of Swift’s music — that sound level is about the same as other stadium concerts.

But not many other concerts have more than 70,000 people scream-singing lyrics at the top of their lungs for hours straight. Ever experienced ear pain because someone was screaming in your ear? That’s essentially what The Eras Tour can be, at times.

And yes, you’ll still be able to hear all of Swift’s stunning vocals while wearing ear protection.

Make A Clear Bag Plan Before You Go

Most people attending The Eras Tour will be going to stadiums near their home, and may have attended those venues previously. However, Swift has enacted her own bag policies that may differ from the stadium’s typical policies.

Generally, The Eras Tour has a stringent bag policy that requires all bags to be clear and not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” dimensions. A detailed list of prohibited items for Swift’s showing at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan can be found here , but check with your venue for the exact policy.

To make sure your items are in compliance, make a plan before leaving to ensure nothing gets thrown away at the security checkpoint. It’s important to purchase a clear bag in advance, because prices will be higher at and around the stadium on the day of the showing.

Ready Your Smartphone

The length of Eras Tour shows poses another problem, this time for your phone. Since the concert is upwards of five hours long — and attendees might have to travel before and after with their device — battery is a concern. To combat this, make sure phones are fully charged, low power mode is enabled and brightness is down when possible.

Consider purchasing a portable charger for the event and remember to bring the right cables for your device. This could extend a phone’s life by hours, depending on the portable charger.

For people that plan to record a lot of photos and videos of the concert, check how much storage is left on your smartphone. A photo can take up as many as 25 megabytes of storage, with videos taking up gigabytes of space based on their length. To free up space, upload media to the cloud, save it to a computer or delete unnecessary apps for the time being.

If you’re really in a pinch for space, Android users can utilize expanded storage with a microSD card or a USB-C flash drive. For iPhone users, the Sandisk iXpand flash drive can add up to 256 gigabytes of extra storage.

Enjoy The Show

After fighting tooth-and-nail for concert tickets, you’ve gotten the chance to see The Eras Tour, so follow these tips for the best experience.

Taylor Swift Brings Eras Tour to Nashville: Night 1 Gallery and Review

Taylor Swift Brings Eras Tour to Nashville: Night 1 Gallery and Review

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour made history on May 5 th , 2023, with a record-breaking sold-out attendance of 70,500 fans packing the Nissan Stadium in Swift’s hometown of Nashville, TN. The atmosphere of the stadium was simply electric as fans of all ages came together to celebrate the legacy of one of the biggest pop stars of our time.

The Atmosphere

Walking up to the stadium, the air was buzzing with anticipation and excitement. My eyes were immediately drawn to the sea of creative DIY outfits worn by the fans. I saw outfits that represented all the Eras of Swift’s discography, the music videos, and even some inside jokes that Swift has with her fans. It was heartwarming to see complete strangers bonding over their shared love of Taylor Swift , trading handmade friendship bracelets, and engaging in friendly conversations with one another.  Even if you weren’t up to speed with the latest “Swift-tok” trends, you felt welcomed into the Swiftie community with open arms. And if you happened to forget your own handmade bracelet to trade, there were plenty of people eager to share their creations with fellow fans, spreading the inclusivity, love, and kindness that Taylor Swift herself embodies in her music and activism.

The Openers

The excitement for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour began long before she even took to the stage, thanks to the incredible performances of her two opening acts: Gracie Abrams and Phoebe Bridgers. As soon as Abrams took to the stage, it was clear the young singer-songwriter had captured the hearts of the audience with her introspective music. Her stunning vocals and heartfelt lyrics set the tone for an unforgettable evening of music. Bridgers, on the other hand, brought her signature brand of alternative indie rock to the stage, captivating the crowd with her raw and emotional performance. The real surprise came during Bridgers’ set when she brought out her fellow supergroup bandmates, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus, for a surprise performance. The trio, known as boygenius, treated the audience to an electrifying performance of their new track, “Not Strong Enough”. The impromptu appearance was met with thunderous applause. Overall, the opening acts were a perfect prelude to an incredible night of music.

As the clock began its countdown, the anticipation in the stadium reached a fever pitch. The air was electric with excitement as fans eagerly awaited Taylor Swift’s arrival on stage. Suddenly, the arena erupted with screams as Taylor’s dancers made their way to the stage, holding giant colorful fabric pieces that billowed in the air like waves in the ocean. The lyric “It’s been a long time coming” from the song “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince” echoed throughout the venue, adding to the palpable energy in the air.

The dancers came together in the center of the massive catwalk, holding their billowy pieces aloft to form a shield-like enclosure. The music continued to build, with bits and pieces of various songs woven together in a montage intro that left the crowd on the edge of their seats. Suddenly, the enclosure opened, revealing Taylor Swift herself, who appeared like the mythical goddess Venus emerging from the sea. She was resplendent in a stunning, sparkly leotard and matching boots, and the audience erupted with deafening cheers as she began her set.

The breathtaking opening sequence was just the beginning of what turned out to be an unforgettable night of music and artistry. Swift dazzled the sold-out crowd with an impressive setlist that covered an astounding 45 songs from 10 albums. Over the course of nearly 3 and a half hours, Taylor delivered one show-stopping performance after another. To take on such a marathon-style performance with such poise and grace is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Taylor managed to seamlessly weave together an incredible array of hits, all while changing outfits and executing intricate dance routines with seemingly boundless energy. Her stamina and showmanship were on full display throughout the night as she effortlessly transitioned from one era to the next without missing a beat or sounding out of breath.

Taylor loves to gift her fans with Easter eggs and surprises and one of the many surprises she had in store for the night was bringing out Phoebe Bridgers for their collab song “Nothing New”, as this was the first time the song has been played live. As Taylor was explaining the tradition of her playing two different songs every night for the highly anticipated acoustic portion of the show and how these songs are not repeated on any other tour date, she revealed an even bigger surprise.  Taylor stated, “There’s also a different reason why I’m really excited about this part of the set tonight because I’ve been planning something for a while, and you know how I love to plan things and you know how I love to surprise you with the things I’ve been planning. It’s my love language with you, you know? I plot, I scheme, I plan, and then I get to tell you about it. So, I think rather than me speaking about it, I thought I would just show you.” Taylor then directed everyone to view the big screen on the main stage as it was revealed that Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) would be released on July 7 th .  The crowd went crazy as she perfectly segued the bombshell announcement into the first surprise song, “Sparks Fly” from Speak Now, and then followed with “Teardrops on My Guitar” from her debut album as the second surprise song.

As the show approached its grand finale, Taylor Swift delivered a high-energy performance of some of the biggest hits from her recent album, Midnights, including fan favorites like “Lavender Haze”, “Anti-Hero”, “Bejeweled”, and “Mastermind”. The crowd sang along, danced, and waved their hands in the air, creating a magical atmosphere that filled the stadium with infectious excitement. As the final notes of “Karma” echoed through the venue, Taylor took one last walk down the catwalk, and the stadium erupted into a dazzling display of pyrotechnics and fireworks, illuminating the faces of the ecstatic crowd. It was truly an unforgettable experience, one that left every fan grateful to have been a part of this historic night in Nashville and we can’t wait to see what Taylor Swift has in store for her next era.

The Eras Tour: Nashville, Tennessee (Night 2)

Last night was another sold out show of The Eras Tour at Nissan Stadium in Nashville! Taylor performed Out Of The Woods and Fifteen, because her longtime friend Abigail who is referenced in the song, was in attendance! Taylor also returned to the tour’s original setlist to perform The 1 instead of Invisible String due to Nashville gifting her an honorary bench in Centennial Park ! It also seems the performance of Nothing New with Phoebe Bridgers is the latest addition to the setlist when Phoebe is an opening act! Videos and photos of this show can be found below.

Taylor Swift at State Farm Stadium: Here's the bag policy and what time the concert starts

eras tour nashville bag policy

There seems to be some lingering confusion as to what the deal is with the clear bag policy at State Farm Stadium as Taylor Swift prepares to launch The Eras Tour with two sold-out performances the weekend of March 17-18.

State Farm Stadium and the NFL Clear Bag Policy strictly limit the size and type of bags that are permitted in the building.

Backpacks, purses (other than small clutches) and diaper bags are not permitted.

The State Farm Stadium website strongly encourages fans to not bring any bags.

However, each fan may carry one bag that is clear plastic, vinyl or PVC no larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).

In addition to one of the clear bags noted above, fans may also carry in a small clutch purse or wallet no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches, with or without a handle or strap, subject to search.

What time does the Taylor Swift concert start?

Here's the timetable:

Here's every song from Night 1: Taylor Swift's Eras Tour opening night setlist, from 'All Too Well' to 'Anti-Hero'

Can I have stickers on my clear bag for Taylor Swift?

This is the part that seems to be confusing people. Here's what the State Farm Stadium page about the Eras Tour says:

"For Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour clear bags may not contain graphics, stickers, writing, or other decorations on more than one side of the clear bag."

That means you're free to bring a bag with stickers and/or other decorations on one side only.

There are no provisions available to store any prohibited bags. Guests will be asked to return prohibited items to their vehicle or dispose of prohibited them at the gate.

Friendship bracelets fans gave Taylor Swift during Eras Tour on display in Nashville

eras tour nashville bag policy

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Many of the friendship bracelets given to Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour are on display at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

"This is a one-of-a-kind, really special celebration of Taylor and the Eras Tour," says Lisa Purcell, the executive vice president of external affairs at the museum. "There are more than a thousand friendship bracelets from Taylor's collection shared by her fans."

Surrounding the three rows of beaded jewelry are posters included in the VIP boxes purchased by fans ahead of the concert.

"Like her, we are so in touch with the fans of the music and the history of the music," Purcell says.

The museum's Taylor Swift Education Center displays different memorabilia from the singer every few months. Swift's team works closely with the museum. The most recent installation includes a BCBG Max Azria silk handkerchief dress from Swift's debut era, complementary bronze boots, the banjo she decorated with permanent marker for her 2012 Grammys performance of "Mean" and a custom-built Koa guitar with her name imprinted on the fingerboard.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

Across from the vitrine of Swift artifacts is a printed copy of a Thomas Hart Benton mural called "The Sources of Country Music." The original hangs in the Country Music Hall of Fame Rotunda and depicts the roots of the music genre.

"Taylor has such a neat origin," Purcell says. "And her origin story is tied to country music. She plays many of these instruments. The Taylor Swift Education Center gave us an opportunity to highlight that."

The center opened in 2013 after Swift donated to the museum's capital campaign. The two-story interior houses classrooms, youth art installations, interactive galleries and learning labs.

Outside the education center and in the museum, there are several exhibits with more Swift memorabilia including a guitar of Swarovski crystal rhinestones, a Roberto Cavalli gold-fringe dress worn by the singer on her "Speak Now World Tour," a vintage lace dress and matching skirt from her "Speak Now World Tour" and the "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" portrait from her "I Can See You" music video.

'It feels like a perfect night'

Swift's team kept all the bracelets given to the star during the 83 shows of her massive tour. Many were exchanged during the song "22," when a chosen fan gives Swift a bracelet in exchange for a couture hat.

Swift has 69 shows left in her colossal tour. She heads to Paris, France, on May 9, and fans are curious to see if she will incorporate a new set into her three-plus-hour show for "The Tortured Poets Department."

Everything to Pack If You're Traveling For Taylor Swift's Eras Tour

eras tour nashville bag policy

In "Pack With Me," influencers and editors give us a rundown of their travel must-haves and a few travel hacks to go along with them. For this installment, PS Features Editor Yerin Kim shares what essentials are in her suitcase for a trip to Stockholm for The Eras Tour.

A week ago, I jetted off to Stockholm for a dream work trip : to see Taylor Swift's Eras Tour for the first time. In my four days in the Scandinavian city, I experienced the ultimate Marriott Bonvoy Moment — members can redeem their points for special adventures like this one — which included premium tickets to the Eras Tour in Stockholm, a stay at the luxe Nobis Hotel, and other activities. While the main purpose of this trip was to see Swift in concert, I was excited to check out Stockholm's famous sights, shops, and food in the days prior.

Stockholm is known as the world's "smallest big city" for a reason. Spread across 14 different islands, the city is easily walkable and surrounded by beautiful lakes and greenery almost everywhere you look. In just two days, I was able to take in the architecture of must-see tourist spots like the Swedish Royal Palace and Stockholm's historic old town Gamla Stan; walk through serene parks like Humlegården and Kungsträdgården; and roam the designer stores in Biblioteksstan — all in between snacking on Swedish meatballs and enjoying afternoon fikas. Although it was admittedly a jam-packed few days, the result was the perfect mix of history, food, and fashion before the main event.

To accommodate for both attending the show and exploring Stockholm, I made sure to pack concert essentials in addition to chic, casual outfits and general travel must-haves for a quick European getaway. If you're lucky enough to catch Swift at an international show this summer or curious about basic travel items for Stockholm, read our complete guide on what to pack for the Eras Tour abroad and find tips for any trip centered around concert tourism.

Best Packing Tips For the Eras Tour

Packing for any trip with multiple objectives can be difficult, but advance planning certainly makes it easier. I consider myself an expert packer, and I owe it to making checklists and building outfit combinations prior to even taking out my suitcase. If you're traveling for a show specifically, I recommend starting with packing your concert outfit, and then working backwards to fill the rest of your luggage. There are so many options when it comes to dressing for the Eras Tour , but I wanted to stick to items I already had in my closet, so I chose a ruffled pink minidress inspired by Swift's "Lover" era, paired with my comfiest, black knee-high boots.

Inspired by minimal and classic Scandinavian style, I focused on coastal hues and basic, clean silhouettes for the rest of my looks. That included packing a plain white tee, oversize button-down, and loose denim. For short getaways like these, I suggest sticking to a specific color scheme or neutrals to allow for flexibility when it comes to planning outfits. (After all, while having general outfit formulas in mind is important, you never know how the weather or your mood might affect your dressing.) If you have a fancy dinner or drinks built into your itinerary, throw in a pair of kitten heels or slip dress, though most establishments in Stockholm seemed to lean casual.

As is the recommendation for any European travel, travel light. It's unfortunately not uncommon to lose your luggage, especially during peak summer season, so I'd forgo checking any bags and plan on doubling up with a carry-on suitcase and a compact duffle for your personal item. You might also want to leave a little room — Stockholm is a shopper's paradise for both designer and vintage finds.

eras tour nashville bag policy

Best Travel Tips For the Eras Tour

My biggest recommendation is to make the most of whatever city you're traveling to, despite the main purpose being the concert. Though the highlight of my Stockholm itinerary was definitely the Eras Tour, exploring the city by foot and viewing all of its picturesque sights were also at the top of the list. In preparation for a shorter trip like mine, do your research on your must-sees in advance. I suggest using Google Maps to save all of those places, so you can plan around locations and see what might be feasible for your trip.

Keep reading for all of my packing essentials for traveling abroad for the Eras Tour — right off the heels of my own trip.

Friendship Bracelets

Friendship Bracelets

Little Words Project Fearless Stars Bracelet ($25)

Outside of Swift's performance itself, trading friendship bracelets with fellow Swifties is the best part of going to Eras. Get creative with beaded accessories of your own, or snag a few from Little Words Project , the "original friendship bracelet" brand known for its bracelets featuring words of affirmation.

Main Image

A Portable Charger

Anker Portable Charger ($16, originally $22)

Swift's show took place at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, which didn't allow concertgoers to bring bags or purses of any kind, so I had to stick to true essentials that could fit in my pockets. One of them was this portable charger. It got me and my phone through all of the Eras, as well as my journey to and from the stadium.

Main Image

A Setting Spray

Charlotte Tilbury Mini Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray ($23)

If you enjoy the concert in its entirety, including the opening act and Swift's full set, the production is a total of almost four hours. My makeup needed to withstand not only that length of time, but also the sweat and tears I'd shed from the various eras. I swear by this setting spray from Charlotte Tilbury, which was crucial for keeping my shimmery eye makeup and face gems intact throughout the evening.

Main Image

A Fragrance/Body Mist

Ouai St. Barts Hair and Body Mist ($28)

A fresh fragrance is also a must for a long, active concert like Eras. I opted for a mist over a more concentrated perfume to keep my skin hydrated and refreshed, and this one lasted all night long. I'm a big fan of Ouai's St. Bart's scent in general — it includes notes of dragon fruit, orange blossom, tuberose, and musk — and this hair and body mist just smells like vacation. A little spritz goes a long way.

Main Image

Knee-High Boots

Everlane Knee-High Banana Heel Boot ($350)

I know, I know. Knee-high boots with a heel might seem like a silly recommendation for a concert, but trust me, these are super comfortable and provide a little height. I did a ton of walking throughout the venue and was on my feet for most of the Eras in this exact pair. Plus, I repurposed them for several outfits throughout my Stockholm trip.

A Cute, Comfy Dress

A Cute, Comfy Dress

Abercrombie & Fitch All-Over Ruffle Mini Dress ($90)

I usually like to wear dresses or skirts for concerts. They're easy for dancing freely, quick bathroom trips in between sets, and staying somewhat cool in a crowded venue. Regardless of the era you choose to represent, opt for a breezy look like this one.

Main Image

A White Tee

Reformation Classic Crew Tee ($38)

On top of any planned outfits, I like to throw in a few white tees and tanks in my suitcase. This one from Reformation is one of the white T-shirts I reach for the most — I love its relaxed, boxy fit and soft, cotton fabric.

Main Image

A Cosmetics Case

Calpak Medium Clear Cosmetics Case ($85)

This viral cosmetics case is not cheap, but there's a reason TikTokers and PS editors alike are obsessed with it. Since I got this case from Calpak over a year ago, I haven't used any other pouch to pack my makeup and skin-care essentials. The medium size is perfect for week-long trips in particular. Depending on how you pack, the case can either lay flat with the two open compartments or be tightly folded and zipped.

A Travel Adapter

A Travel Adapter

Tessan European Travel Plug Adapter ($14, originally $19)

A travel adapter is a must when you're traveling to Europe, and this one from Amazon comes highly recommended. It's compact and includes multiple ports to charge several devices at once, whether that's a flatiron, laptop, or iPhone.

Main Image

A Carry-On Suitcase

United Colors of Benetton x Delsey Paris Hardside Luggage with Spinner Wheels ($100)

And of course, you need a vessel to throw all of those essentials into. I love that this carry-on suitcase has a hard, scratch-resistant shell that allows for a little flexibility if you're prone to overpacking or returning home with some extra goodies. I also prefer bright colors for luggage, because there's less of a chance someone will confuse yours for theirs.

Main Image

A Duffel Bag

Calpak Stevyn Duffel Bag with Shoe Compartment ($112)

Even if you think you might not need the extra room, I always like to bring a duffel or weekender bag as my personal item (Trolley sleeves are a must). This one from Calpak is spacious and extra durable, with several compartments to maintain organization. I kept the duffel pretty roomy on my way there, and sure enough, filled the bottom shoe compartment with my shopping finds from the trip on my way back.

Fans divided over age restriction in Stockholm for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour

STOCKHOLM — Welcome to "Swiftholm!"

The capital city of Sweden changed its name temporarily to honor Taylor Swift and her massively successful Eras Tour . Swift was set to perform three nights in Friends Arena.

"We are from a very small town of 400 in central Illinois," says Jennifer Crane of Paxton. She held up a copy of her hometown newspaper, the "Ford County Chronicle," and took a photo in front of the arena with her sister, niece and friend from Chicago. "We're taking a photo because we'll be the front page."

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

Crane says the Swedish show was much cheaper than getting a nosebleed ticket in Indianapolis, New Orleans or Miami, the three locations Swift will bring the Eras Tour in America this fall.

The stadium had a few rules Americans adapted to: a 13-year-old age restriction and a no-bag policy.

"Normally, we do clear bags at all events in America, so we had to get creative," Crane says. "Phones on straps, pockets on pants. So many pockets. Lipstick in our pockets. But we're fine."

No bags are allowed inside the arena for security reasons, including transparent bags, fanny packs, purses, backpacks, etc. The only exception is "for medical reasons and for children's diaper bags," according to the Friends Arena stadium website.

"I've been avoiding spoilers," says Andy Lindsey waiting in line with a vibrant, multi-colored, "Karma"-esque coat. "I really want to see 'The Tortured Poets Department' set since that's the newest stuff."

Lindsey traveled from Champaign, Illinois. The audience of hundreds waiting for the doors to open for VIP did not include kids under 13 years old due to a Swedish restriction.

"In my opinion, some of the music has subject matter and language that might be inappropriate for someone under the age of 13," says Lindsey. "It's a long show. We've already been in line for two hours, and I think young kids could get unruly, so I think the age restriction is probably appropriate."

About 20 people behind Lindsey was Raina Santucci.

"I'm so excited to see the "Tortured Poets Department" new set," Santucci says. "Oh my gosh, I'm excited to see her on the Roomba."

The joke is in reference to Swift singing "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?" from a levitating platform. TikTok has turned the performance into hilarious Roomba jokes .

Santucci thought the age restriction was a little harsh.

"I have a 10-year-old and a 6-year-old at home, and I know the 6-year-old could not hang," she says, "but the 10-year-old really wants to see Taylor Swift. So I'm torn on it."

Resale tickets on Stubhub.com showed floor seats going for for a shocking $100-$170, and stadium seats being sold as low as $60. Resale for the three American shows are anywhere from four to five digits to see the show.

Swift will perform three nights in Sweden, before heading to Lisbon, Portugal.
