Clutch is my favorite stoner rock band. They never disappoint. It was great to see them as the headliner as they played stuff that I haven't heard them play before when they were the support group. The only issue was a group of ten or twelve people who felt that half of the hall was for them only and slammed dance or just were general assholes. I mean slam dancing for Clutch makes no sense.
I love Clutch and you can tell that they love their fans and love is returned. Please come to the Bay Area as often as possible.

Well last night show was one of the best I've seen in a very long time, it's nice to actually see a showman like Zack Wylde perform and melt your face off as my buddy Daniel would say. He showed us how it was done last night, even got an up close (meaning he was standing 3' from us) solo from the crowd during Warpigs.
Then Clutch comes like the powerhouse that they are and blew the roof off the place. Total energy from start to finish.
But I will not forget to mention Kyng either, a great band from the LA metal scene. Opened the show in fine fashion with some heavy riffs, phenomenal vocals, and a true sense of how to get a crowd going. If you have a chance to catch this tour, I HIGHLY recommend you do!!!!!
The show opened with The Wexford School of Rock kids who were fantastic. They covered 4 or 5 popular metal songs including one of Clutch's in which Neil Fallon came out to help them sing.
Next came Kyng, a metal band out of L.A.. I was not familiar with the band, but they were clearly a very tight 3 piece. Their music was good and sound.
Zakk Wylde's cover band, Zakk Sabbath, followed up Kyng. If you enjoy Sabbath, and I love Sabbath, then you should definitely see this group before they return to their normal jobs.
If you've never seen Clutch. This is one of the great acts of this generation, both studio and live. Their music appeals to all types of rock and metal fans, and it is all well comprised. I've seen them twice and I will see them every time they come around.

CLUTCH Announce New Album & Tour
- Written by HEAVY
Share This:
Clutch shares more in common with The Grateful Dead, Rush, and the Allman Brothers than their heavy riffs and heady twists-of-phrase might suggest. Because like those bands, the supporters who adore Clutch are there for the experience, community, and authentic connection. To love Clutch is to feel a sense of ownership, membership, and belonging.
Seneca Valley High School classmates Neil Fallon (vocals), Tim Sult (guitar), Dan Maines (bass), and Jean-Paul Gaster (drums) share an unshakeable musical and personal bond now three decades strong. Shaped by the same region which birthed Bad Brains, Minor Threat, and Rites Of Spring, Clutch crafts hyper-literate and libertine jams informed by hardcore fury and fuzzy, athletic, stoner rock.
Today, those classmates announce Sunrise On Slaughter Beach , the band’s thirteenth studio album – a slamming summary of everything that makes the band great and another giant leap forward into career longevity. The album will be released on September 16, 2022 via Weathermaker Music .
Clutch are also hitting the road, with details below.

About Clutch
Clutch is a rock band formed in Germantown, Maryland in 1991. Since it formed, it’s line-up included Tim Sult (lead guitar), Dan Maines (bass), Jean-Paul Gaster (drums), and Neil Fallon (vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards). And for over 30 years, they have been rocking up the charts. Currently the band is signed onto the Weathermaker Music label.
Early years 1991–2003
Originally, Clutch had a lineup that included Dan Maines (bass), Jean-Paul Gaster (drums), Tim Sult (guitar), and Roger Smalls (vocals). In 1991, Clutch didn’t settle on a name and had debated between their early names, Glut Trip and Moral Minority. But after Roger Smalls left the band and was replaced by Neil Fallon, the band chose its name due to their interest in cars. And they were pleased with the one syllable name, which was common at the time with bands including: Prong, who the band was fans of.
In these early years, Clutch made their name through constant touring, but were first noticed by many major recording labels thanks to their 12’’ single Passive Restraints on the EArache label. The band released their first LP in 1993 and followed that up with their self-titled album in 1995 which gave them mainstream exposure.
Clutch Today
Clutch’s latest album was first teased in an August 2020 interview on the Detroit WRIF station when Jean-Paul Gaster stated that the band would probably start recording their 13th album in the winter. In interviews that followed, the band teased the album by sharing their creative process, which involved, among other things, recording songs and trying out ideas and seeing what stuck and what worked.
After two years of recording and build-up the band’s latest album was set for a September 2022 release.

* CLUTCH only
Earlier today, CLUTCH dropped a brand-new single, "We Strive For Excellence" . The track is available digitally from all DSPs.
CLUTCH released its first new single, "Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone)" , back in April to much acclaim from fans and critics alike. The track has already hit nearly 300,000 streams on Spotify alone and the official music video, directed by David Brodsky , has clocked up 340,000 YouTube views.
Early last year, drummer Jean-Paul Gaster told the Chicago-based webzine Metal Kaoz that he and his CLUTCH bandmates had "written a lot of songs" for the follow-up to 2018's "Book Of Bad Decisions" LP. He said: "We've been writing now for our new album, and I think we're spending more time than ever in the studio, just trying out different ideas. And most of the ideas don't ever really make it to the end; we try 10 things and we keep one.
"I think we are even more selective than we were before as to which ideas we really decide to focus on. And I think it is because we have so much more time. Before, we would come home for a tour and maybe we would have three weeks off. So, the first week, we don't do really much of anything — everybody goes back home to their families and we rest — and then the next two weeks we would get together and we would just jam really hard and get a bunch of ideas, and then on the road and play those ideas, and then come back and do it again. And that process might go on for a year and a half. This has been different. This is the first time where we've had so much time at home to work on ideas and never really tried them in a live setting. So I'm not sure how it's gonna impact the record. But I think it's gonna make for a different album — whether it's good, bad or otherwise, it's too early to tell. But, for sure, it's a different dynamic, and it requires more of us.
"So often, when we have new ideas and we put them in front of an audience, you can really tell right away — we know right away if the song is the right tempo, we know right away if the riffs are where they need to be, if the chorus is the way it needs to be," Gaster added. "It's a testing ground. And we don't have that right now. So, for that reason, I think we are being a lot more careful about what ideas we really wanna focus on, and which ones we think, 'You know what? We've done that before. Let's do something a little different.'"
"Book Of Bad Decisions" was recorded at Sputnik Sound studio in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Vance Powell . The record sold 26,000 copies in America during its first week of availability, giving the group its third consecutive Top 20 album on the Billboard 200.

Paul McCartney 'Got Back' tour to hit Australia this fall
Paul McCartney will continue his 'Got Back' tour as the "Band on the Run" singer announced six new dates in Australia this fall.
Andrew Korpan
After over a year off, Paul McCartney will be on the run very soon.
It seems that McCartney will be doing another leg of his “Got Back” tour in Australia this fall. Six tour dates have been announced that will see McCartney and his touring band — made up of Rusty Anderson, Brian Ray, Paul “Wix” Wickens, and Abe Laboriel Jr. — travel to Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, and Gold Coast.
This is likely a huge sigh of relief for fans of McCartney. He hasn't toured Australia since the tail-end of his “One on One' tour in 2017. Plus, the “Got Back” tour — his first since the pandemic — only consisted of 13 dates (all of which were in America). That said, he did headline Glastonbury in 2022.
Since the end of last year's “Got Back” dates and Glastonbury show, McCartney has remained quiet. He did perform at the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert, playing a couple of Beatles tunes — “Oh! Darling” and “Helter Skelter.” Coming up (no pun intended), McCartney will release a paperback edition of his book, The Lyrics, which includes a few new song entries.
Paul McCartney is one of the most iconic musical artists ever. Since the Beatles breakup, McCartney has released a ton of hits. This includes his solo work including “Maybe I'm Amazed” and his Wings work. The “Band on the Run” singer has been a touring warhorse since he picked it up in 1989 (he took a decade-long break after Wings disbanded in '79). His current touring band, which has been with him since his 2002 “Driving World” tour, celebrated 500 shows together at Glastonbury. The upcoming tour's stop in Adelaide will mark their 501st show.

The “Got Back” tour is set to begin on October 18 in Adelaide. For more information, check out the official announcement .
