These 80s artists are still playing today: 10 chances to see them perform live

today June 27, 2022

Background

You know this? You as a fan of the great 80s artists hesitated at the time to go to that one concert of your favorite performer. Afterwards it turned out to be the last concert. No chance to see him or her perform live. Check out this Top 10 of 80s artists who are still performing, and don’t miss the chance to see them live. Enjoy real music and relive the real feeling of the 80s.

In this overview (in random order) we go back to the time of tight jeans, use of excessive hairspray and music television. There are many artists from the 80s who continue to enjoy only the money they make from the music rights of the retro obsession. Other great bands still have success and manage to pack stadiums full.

These 10 better music acts from the 80s are still doing their thing:

He is both the king of the metal/pop rock scene in the 1980s and the 90s. Jon Bon Jovi and his band still tour as if their lives depended on it. Guitarist Richie Sambora is no longer part of the band.

Guns N’ Roses

With three original band members, Guns N’ Roses is once again touring from gig to gig. Singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff are part of one of the greatest acts of the 80s and early 90s. Who didn’t play air guitar on “Sweet Child o’ Mine,” “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Paradise City”?

These British guys have been on tour since the late ‘70s and don’t know when to stop. Robert Smith and his The Cure were incredibly successful with albums like “The Head on the Door” (1985), “Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me” (1987) and “Disintegration” (1989). They still play all the hits from those albums live.

New Kids on the Block

“You Got It (The Right Stuff)” and “Hangin’ Tough” are the well-known 80s hits by New Kids on the Block. Though they were not together for many years, their 2008 reunion gave Donnie, Jordan, Jonathan, Joey and Danny their second wind to perform. With the release of two recent albums and a successful tour in 2019 NKOTB still got it.

This lady will never disappear from the stage. She continues to reinvent herself, even though opinions are divided on its success. Like the Rolling Stones she is and will always be an icon. Madonna made her debut in 1983 and will release her fourteenth studio album “Madame X” in 2019. Check out this diva live if you have the chance.

Depeche Mode

Some bands continue to innovate and are a major influence on artists today. One such band is Depeche Mode. Since 1981, they have been leaving their mark on the global music scene. We “Just Can’t Get Enhough” of this!

This man knows what stardom is all about. As a front man he made The Police a mega success and solo was no different for him. What a musical hero Sting is! He has won more than 15 Grammy Awards and is considered one of the greatest songwriters in the world. Sting knows no stopping, live on stage and with new videos on YouTube.

Like all the other mega artists from the 80s just mentioned, Irish rock band U2 is still grabbing the stage like the old days. Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. have never stopped making music since the release of their first studio album “Boy” on October 20, 1980. According to some, they sound better now than they did before. So it’s really worth going to see them live!

Duran Duran

Okay, these men are already past middle age, but they are still full of energy and dedication on stage. The female fans still swoon away at them when the members of Duran Duran hit the guitar. Simon Le Bon and John Taylor have been making 80s pop hits like “Hungry Like the Wolf” and “Rio” since the start of the MTV era.

The biggest commercial success for the hard rockers of Whitesnake came in the 80s. It started in 1984 with “Slide It in” and everyone remembers the classic hits “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love”. Now we have 13 studio albums and they are still performing. Go and see.

The 80s are still ALIVE

Want more of the top music from the 80s? Then listen to 80s ALIVE daily. You’ll hear much more than just the above artists mentioned. All the great Pop & Rock Hits from the 80s are featured. Check it out!
