HOZIER EXTENDS UNREAL UNEARTH TOUR

hozier tour us 2023

Award-winning, RIAA-Diamond certified singer/songwriter  Hozier’s  most extensive headlining run in North America –  The Unreal Unearth Tour –  will continue into 2024 adding a whopping 37 new shows, including stadium, arena, and amphitheater performances nationwide at iconic venues such as Forest Hills Stadium in New York and Kia Forum in Los Angeles. Special guest Allison Russell will join on select dates. Complete ticketing information and tour routing are available below. Hozier shared the excitement for his upcoming tour in the video  HERE .

The Live Nation-produced tour now tops Hozier’s momentous sold-out 2023 run, which included 30 shows across 27 cities in the US & Canada where he performed for nearly  250,000 fans . The fall performances included his first shows at  Madison Square Garden  and the  Hollywood Bowl,  showcasing Hozier’s rapid touring growth across the country in markets like Colorado where he performed two sold-out nights at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheater this past October.   Hozier has continued to hook audiences worldwide with his provocative, energetic, and organic live performances that span his extensive decade-long catalog of hits. He has stayed true to his ethos as his shows have grown into larger venues, continuing to draw inspiration from performing entirely live with his expanding band. Hozier’s unique connection with his audience has grown more apparent over the years and stems from the enduring intimate nature of his shows. His dedicated following of die-hard fans quickly showed their enthusiasm for his third studio album,  Unreal Unearth , learning the lyrics to the songs through his live performances and singing along to every word prior to the release. Released August 18 via Columbia Records, the 16-track LP debuted at #3 on the  Billboard  200 albums chart and follows a captivating thematic arc informed by the turbulence of the world and the fight for a better and brighter tomorrow. Additionally, Hozier will be featured on the re-release of Noah Kahan’s single “Northern Attitude” arriving this Friday, 11/10 after the two debuted the collaboration last month in Nashville while on their respective headline tours. Pre-save / pre-add  HERE .   TICKETS:  Tickets will go on sale starting on Friday, November 17 at 12 PM local time at  livenation.com .   MORE ON TICKETS:  Hozier wants to give fans the best chance to buy tickets at face value. For fans who purchase tickets for the Unreal Unearth Tour 2024 through Ticketmaster and can’t attend, they will have the option to resell their ticket to other fans at the original price paid using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange. To help protect the Face Value Exchange, Hozier has also chosen to make tickets for this tour mobile only and restricted from transfer. Hozier sings and plays guitar in concert.

After the album comes the tour.

Fresh off the release of his arena friendly “Unreal Unearth” record, Hozier is finally taking off on his 2023 tour of the same name with special guest Madison Cunningham starting Saturday, Sept. 9 in St. Louis.

Three weeks later, the 33-year-old Irish singer-songwriter will take his alternately uplifting and intimate new collection of songs to New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Saturday, Sept. 30.

In total, he’ll perform 30 huge arena concerts as well as five festival headlining sets on the North American leg of his ‘Unreal Unearth Tour.’

And if you want to grab last-minute tickets to see the “Take Me To Church” crooner live these next few months, it isn’t too late to pounce.

As of now, tickets are available for all 35 Hozier gigs in the U.S. and Canada this year.

The only problem is there are very few cheap seats available.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on ‘Unreal Unearth Tour’ tickets was $60 before fees on Vivid Seats.

Other concerts on the nationwide run have ticket prices starting anywhere from $70 to $250 .

(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time. All prices are in US dollars, subject to fluctuation and include additional fees at checkout .)

Vivid Seats is a verified secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They offer a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and your tickets will be delivered prior to the event.

Hozier 2023 festival appearances

On top of the tour, Hozier is also lending his talents to four (!) major festivals these next few months.

To get you up to speed, here’s where you can see him headline this September and October.

Hozier opening act

For the U.S. leg of his tour, Hozier is bringing special guest Madison Cunningham to all shows.

Cunningham, 26, walks the line between folk and rock; if you’re looking to sample her sound, we suggest starting with her most-streamed track, the slow burning  “Song In My Head.”

“Unreal Unearth”

Comprised of sixteen tracks, Hozier’s third studio album comes out of the gate quietly with the gentle strumming of an acoustic guitar in the opening track “De Selby (Part 1).”

Very soon after, Hozier’s lilting vocals soar and transform into what may be the rock song of the year, the slinky “De Selby (Part 2).”

The rest of the record keeps up this level of quality with folksy campfire jams (“First Time,” “I, Carrion”), headbangers (“Francesca,” “Who We Are”) and radio ready singles (“Eat Your Young,” “Anything But”).

If you’re planning on attending a show, we highly recommend checking out “Unreal Unearth” — it’s a fantastic, sonically diverse offering from a constantly maturing artist.

You can stream “Unreal Unearth” in its entirety here .

Huge concert tours in 2023

Andrew Hozier-Byrne known by the stage name Hozier, is an Irish musician from Bray, County Wicklow who rose to prominence in 2014 following the release of his debut album and the single 'Take Me To Church'.

Andrew began his pursuit of music with a degree at Trinity College, Dublin yet decided to drop out after his first year after Universal Music showed interest in his demos so he decided to focus on this avenue. Luckily he made the right decision, in 2013 the 'Take Me to Church' EP was released through Rubyworks, Island Records and became an instant success.

The title track was an unexpected hit single in the States, peaking at #3 on the US Billboard charts. It also charted at #2 and #25 in Ireland and the UK, respectively. The huge response Hozier has received in the US has accumulated in 'Take Me To Church' receiving a nomination for Song of the Year at the 2015 Grammy awards. After the success of the single and early EPs, Hozier played a number of European festivals in the summer of 2014 including Reading & Leeds, Pukkelpop and Electric Picnic.

His debut self titled album followed in September and topped the Irish album charts, debuted at #2 in the US and #5 in the UK. It also appeared on numerous charts around the world. It features two more hit singles in his native Ireland, 'From Eden' and 'Sedated'. The album was also received well critically, holding a MetaCritic score of 78/100. He supported the release with a tour of the US and the UK which was his first chance to play the debut in full.

Live reviews

Hozier or Andrew Hozier-Byrne is an Irish singer who debuted with a serious song, Take Me To Church, which questioned religious organizations on same-sex companionship ban.

You might think he could be a super serious and intense guy, but! Andrew is actually very nice and sweet in person. He’s young and humble and constantly shows love and appreciation to his fans throughout the concert with the happiest face, and he respects everyone on the stage.

In the middle of the show, he was doing an acoustic number when he stopped mid-song as he saw someone fainted in the audience. He called the staff to take care of the person and most importantly, he stopped the show to wait for her to feel better so that she wouldn’t miss anything. He simply asked the rest of the crowd, “We’re not in a hurry, are we?”

We all stood there waiting for quite a while until Andrew picked up his guitar and started that song again from the top.

The whole performance in general was beyond awesome with his powerful voice, accompanied by fantastic chorus and violin, among the other great talents on the stage.

Later in the show, he told everybody that it was one of the band members’ birthday and opened his arm towards the drummer. He began singing Happy Birthday To You and we all sang along with him. As we got to the verse where you include the person’s name in the song, almost nobody knew his name, so we all sang:

"Happy birthday dear… drummer," and we all laughed.

The atmosphere was phenomenon. Andrew said constantly that he always has a great time every time he comes to Montreal and told everyone that he would come back again next year.

This was all the good things in the world combined.

Andrew Hozier-Byrne, better known just as Hozier, is one talented Irish singer songwriter. Hailing from Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland, Hozier has only just begun to take the music world by storm. His two EPs have been on repeat for as long as they’ve existed.

During his live show he has a live band with him, and always has guitar in hand. He also has two backup female vocalists that will join him during some of the songs. He draws a very large crowd, having gained a lot of fans through various social media and word of mouth, but unlike other crowds that I’ve encountered, the crowd is very loving as well as respectful. He is very soft spoken when he speaks, but when he starts to sing he really opens up, pouring all his emotions into his songs. Between each song he’d thank the crowd and introduce each song and would occasionally switch his guitars. He even talked about the songs a bit, like when he performed “To Be Alone” he spoke a bit about who influenced him in writing this particular song.

His music is appealing to a large crowd because he is so versatile. His set contained some light rock, some bluesy stuff, and acoustic songs as well. His vocals are absolutely beautiful and he does a great job of showcasing his wonderful talent.

The Irish singer/songwriter Hozier gripped me initially with his alternative style of music for singer/songwriters, as he specialises in indie rock, blues and soul. His song Take Me to Church was the track that I first fell in love with, and his gently voice accompanied by his talented backing singers is simply stunning.

Seeing him play live in a large venue, I was a bit worried that he was only going to play with a full band, and that some of the raw emotion would be lost that he transfers across in his acoustic sets. However, he played a good balance of tracks with his band, and just solo with his guitar. He opened the show with the EP From Eden, which he played through in its entirety, before moving on to his self titled album. About half way through the show he played his single Take Me To Church, which had everyone in the audience singing along from start to finish. His humble yet confident manner won over the audience, and his banter between tracks had everyone cheering and laughing for him. It was a great environment, and a brilliant artist to see live, he is incredibly talented, and will hopefully be touring for many years.

The stage was simple. No curtain or big screen. There were a few fancy swirling lights that augmented some of the more energetic selections, but the majority of the set focused on the music. Things opened up with “Angel of Small Death and the Codine Scene”. The natural granite backdrop was bathed in blue light as Hozier sang of ‘sweetened breath’ and tongues ‘so mean’ with the assistance of heavy percussion and a tough bass line that vibrated through the amphitheater. I was immediately impressed. Having found her voice and dance moves again, our daughter and her friend seemed to be feeling it as well. They could be found swaying and clapping along with everyone else during “From Eden”…and there on after. But it wasn’t until Alana Henderson got intimate with her cello that the sound really opened up. She became more than just a fixture from that point on, and as they made their way through the majority of the album, Hozier was the one to listen to, but she was the one to watch. - See more at: http://ilistensoyoudonthaveto.com/2015/08/03/hozier-dawes-red-rocks-08-02-15/#sthash.FPtbDJZs.dpuf

When I heard that Hozier was coming to Chicago, I knew I had to manage to grab a ticket to see him! I waited to buy a ticket until they were re-released and got the 10th row for $75! Hozier performed songs off of his self titled debut album and his EP From Eden.

Leading up to Hozier, the crowd thoroughly enjoyed listening to Dawes. They thoroughly entertained the crowd and were very appreciative of the crowd listening so intently. Dawes' set was about 40 minutes, so it was the perfect warm up act.

Hozier's set included a wonderful mix of his ballads and upbeat tunes and kept the crowd thoroughly entertained throughout the night. The crowd was mesmerized by Hozier's vocal range and his talents playing the guitar. He got the crowd into 'Work Song' and 'Take Me To Church' by having the audience clap and sing along. Hozier really interacted with the crowd and made everyone feel happy and welcome. Overall, it was a very memorable concert and I would definitely see him again!

If there's anything you should take from this review, it's that you should definitely try to see Hozier if you get the chance!

I am absolutely in love with Hozier's voice and talent. It was my wish since years to go to his concert. That finally happened in Munich last night.

The location was great. Unfortunately the opening of the concert was far from anything good!

A solo singer (Kevin) who had a powerful voice but could not really be able to have audiences and at some point it got really boring after the second song... He sang 5-6 songs and you could feel that the crowd is getting resltess wants him to finish up and leave.

Then we had to wait for more than 45 min for the band to show up on the stage! I have never been waiting this long in all the concerts attended to so far! We were waiting, they did not bother to give some information or some sign... Finally when the band show up nobody even apologised for such a long delay!

Despite all these, Hozier / band was great on the stage! He sang for 2 hours and almost all the songs I was so looking forward to hearing them live! I do hope to see them again but this time with much better time management and organisation!

Hozier, the soulful genius who can reach deep into your being and grab a hold of your essence is the best musician I've had the pleasure to watch live on stage. The experience was a cross between magical, spiritual and familiar. The sound was perfect, the music and lyrics fantastic as always and the voices from heaven. Hozier's voice has a depth and warmth that allows him to sing the tales of the coldest and most morbid things and make them sound romantic.

I went to all 3 shows at the Wiltern in Los Angeles and was impressed with everything. The venue is large but still very intimate, the staff were nice and friendly. There was not one bad seat in the house. The sound was clear and powerful. His high beat songs were as pleasant as his solo acoustic number with Cherry Wine that made a few people (including me) tear up. I was in the GA Pit area two of the nights. The experience was surreal. I'm still walking on cloud 9.

mojgan-ghaemmaghami’s profile image

was out of this world, best night of my life. one drawback was when andrew encouraged people to leave their seats and come down to the stage, but the venue staff turned everyone away when they tried. was pretty disheartening and upsetting but didn't let it ruin my night.

andrew and the band were in top form, and got everyone out if their seats and standing and singing along (society has so beaten everyone down in terms of expressing themselves and caring what everyone else thinks that even among a thousand people who loved one man and his music, we found difficult to show it.) so thanks andrew for not taking us at face value (a theatre full of blinking goldfish in their seats for the first few songs, forgive us, i know that i was pretty overwhelmed. and i already have huge issues with confidence without adding 1k+ people to the mix)

love you hozier, hope to see you soon, and even meet you next time <3<3<3

I first heard his stuff on Spotify and his song 'Take me to Church' became the song I kept on a repeated loop for pretty much a whole month. So when I got the email alert that Hozier was performing in Manchester, I knew then and there I had to get tickets. I'm so glad I got tickets because the gig was absolutely incredible. He sounds the same, if not better, live as he does on his album/EPs.

There weren't any techy light displays, which I thought worked better as we focused more on the music. He performed most of the material from his album with a few songs not by him, including Amerie's '1 Thing'. I wasn't familiar with the opening act, Wyvern Lingo, but despite that, I really liked them and felt their music complemented Hozier's quite well.

Overall, the gig was amazing and is definitely one of the highlights of my year so far, and I would definitely see him live again.

jasmin-cooper’s profile image

The gig itself was incredible. Hozier and the family sound as pure and perfect as they do on recordings - it's insane how amazing they are! The engagement with the audience was on point too - Hozier is a warm and welcoming showman, with a definite ear for his audience and a love for performing that shows at every turn.

Kudos to David Keenan for opening the show. He has a unique style that I'm sure will serve him well in the years to come. Purchased the vinyl to play as soon as I got home.

As for City Hall itself, I have never been to watch music before (just stand-up shows or 'An Audience With...' nights) but I have to say, the acoustics are phenomenal. Because of the layout, everything feels intimate and the view was outstanding from most points in the auditorium.

A fantastic night!

How Hozier found ‘a renewed sense of joy’ while contemplating hell on earth

“Thank you for suffering through my ramblings,” Andrew Hozier-Byrne says, just before logging off our Zoom call.

The Irish singer-songwriter known as Hozier is speaking from Berlin, in the midst of a U.K. and European tour that extends to the U.S. in the fall, and includes sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl and Santa Barbara Bowl.

On this day, he’s eager to discuss a castle at which he performed in Cardiff, Wales. “We were right next to this keep, which has a moat around it, which was originally built by the Romans,” he explains, playing straight into the “bog daddy” and “forest god” personae the Internet has bestowed on him. “The earthworks were used by people for centuries as part of a castle and part of it is still standing. It was a really lovely place to play.”

On Aug. 18, the 33-year-old musician, best known for his haunting 2013 hit “ Take Me to Church ,” will release “Unreal Unearth,” his third studio album and a work that he’s been teasing for months on social media and through the EP “Eat Your Young.” Its 16 tracks are loosely inspired by the first part of the Italian epic poem “Divine Comedy,” Dante Aleghieri’s imagined journey into hell titled “Inferno,” but it doesn’t stray from the singer’s favored themes of love, loss and social consciousness.

“I’m definitely coming out of the last three years having done plenty of internal janitorial work,” he says. “I’m coming back with a renewed sense of gratitude and ease … a renewed sense of joy for what I get to do in this life.”

This interview has been edited for length and clarity.

Musicians tend to be allergic to the idea of a “pandemic album,” but I wonder: How much is “Unreal Unearth” an exploration of hell vis-à-vis Dante’s “Inferno,” and how much is it a pandemic album? It strikes me that the arc of those two things are somewhat similar.

I’d hoped that these songs could live above ground and below ground at the same time, if that makes sense, and that they’re in sympathy or harmony with each other at points. I share that allergy with other musicians, I really do, but I think it’s silly not to credit the experience of the last three years in some way. How I settled on doing that was just to make this collection of songs, let them be what they needed to be in that time period, and then structure them into nine circles as a nod to the journey of descending into this place we didn’t really expect to find ourselves.

You’ve said that the ideas you were workshopping on the road just prior to the pandemic suddenly felt frivolous. Why?

When the pandemic landed on top of everybody, it felt like there was this new precarious situation where fear felt so much more immediate, so much more real, so much more urgent than some of the stuff I was kicking around. I have so many people in my family who are immunocompromised. Some of the concepts I’d been working on were legitimate, but they just seemed cartoonish by comparison.

You’re known for doing what Nina Simone once called for, which is to reflect the times. That rings clear on songs like “Eat Your Young.”

It was a sentiment I had been walking around with but had never put into words. So when the lyric about skinning the children for the war drum came, and putting food on the table by selling bombs and guns, I decided to write something from an unreliable narrator’s perspective, a voice that is sort of relishing in that activity, that voracious appetite for taking all that you can and damn the expense, damn the human cost. Once I had those lyrics, I thought it could be fun sounding and sort of under the radar, slipping in that subversive line. There’s no money like arms dealer money, and I’m just being straight about it. There’s so much conflict and so much profit from conflict.

hozier tour us 2023

That’s a Ho z ier signature, wrapping all this lyrical heaviosity into easy little pop packages. But conversely, the song “Francesca” is an explosive rock song. How do you feel about the state of rock music in 2023?

I think it’s on the way back. People are connecting with music they can write and play themselves, something that can be played live, in social settings. That’s the magic of the guitar. In a way, the laptop has become the new folk instrument; you can really create anything on it. But it’s nice that people are returning to something more tactile with acoustic and electric instruments. I hear a lot of grunge, shoegaze and early ’80s emo stuff today. I can feel the Cure in a lot of modern songwriting.

You recorded the album here in Los Angeles. Where did you stay?

I was Airbnb-ing a lot of that time, and I would just pick a neighborhood and spend a month there. I stayed in Silver Lake, close to Echo Park, West Hollywood, Abbot Kinney in Venice and Studio City. I moved around a lot. I spent upward of six months, maybe more, there, which was my first extended period of time in L.A. Some friends who I went to college with are working there now, and I was able to foster a little community around me.

Brandi Carlile features on “Damage Gets Done.” Why’d you connect with her?

She’s a total hero, somebody who’s driven by such a vision of community and love. She also has an outrageous voice. We were looking at songs from the ’80s and early ’90s where people really sing out. We were channeling some power-ballad type of stuff. It was clear to me that this song was a duet in the vein of Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel’s “ Don’t Give Up ,” like a “these are hard times but we’re gonna get through them” type of sentiment.

Taking stock of the American musicians you’ve worked with or paid tribute to over the years — Nina Simone, Mavis Staples, Booker T. Jones and many others — I have to imagine you’re a bit of an old soul.

I don’t know. I’ve been called that, and I have felt tired for most of my life.

A portrait of a man with long, brown hair looking down, cast in red and blue light.

Songwriters are often subject to the misconception that their lyrics are autobiographical. Where is the line between your life and a character you’ve created?

The character thing is a helpful device to allow the song to live in two worlds. It’s also a helpful device for dodging questions exactly like this! But I don’t mind saying that they do come from a very personal place. In particular, on this album, some of the songs I wrote for my partner at the time, things I sent to them first just as a gift, and then they ended up as part of this. “To Someone From a Warm Climate” was written for someone from a warm climate who I was involved with. Part of it was explaining to somebody the actual lived experience of getting used to warming up a freezing cold bed as a child in winter.

How was the lockdown for you? Did you feel particularly well suited for it because you’re someone who requires alone time?

I definitely feel very comfortable alone. So there was part of me that was thriving in that sort of solitude and quiet, at least for a while. I started keeping bees. I would meet my friends at dawn once a week by the seaside, and we would swim and watch the sunrise. I watched some of my friends have their first children. I got to live a life that was very different from what I’d been living for the majority of my 20s.

That’s very poetic.

Seamus Heaney has this beautiful poem about playing football after dark, and it was sort of similar. It was a time that was … unpredictable, unforeseen and free. There was definitely something to cherish in that.

Hozier, the Eagles with Vince Gill coming to Tulsa's BOK Center: Here's how to get tickets

hozier tour us 2023

Hitmaking singer-songwriter Hozier and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers the Eagles , featuring Deacon Frey and Oklahoma star Vince Gill , have been added this week to the burgeoning 2024 concert calendar for Tulsa's BOK Center .

When is Hozier coming back to Oklahoma for his 2024 Tulsa concert?

The Grammy-nominated and diamond-certified Hozier announced Thursday plans to continue his "The Unreal Unearth Tour" — his most extensive headlining run in North America to date — into 2024 by adding 37 new shows, including stadium, arena, and amphitheater performances nationwide.

The 2024 dates will follow Hozier’s sold-out 2023 run, which encompassed 30 shows across 27 cities in the U.S. and Canada, where he performed for nearly 250,000 fans. His fall 2023 dates included a sold-out October show at The Criterion in Oklahoma City.

The Live Nation-produced tour is supporting the Irish musician's third studio album, "Unreal Unearth," which was released over the summer .

The "Take Me to Church" hitmaker's 2024 tour run will include an Aug. 10 stop at Tulsa's BOK Center.

Tulsa tickets go on sale at noon Nov. 17 and will be available online at www.bokcenter.com .

Tulsa ticket prices range from  $39.50 to $99.50.

When will the Eagles with Vince Gill play Tulsa's BOK Center in 2024?

The Eagles announced Wednesday the addition of a Tulsa stop to their still-developing "Long Goodbye" farewell tour .

The Eagles are slated to perform Feb. 13 at the BOK Center, where they played the arena's inaugural concert back in 2008 .

The Eagles announced in July plans for their "Long Goodbye" trek . Fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Steely Dan are along for the tour as they commemorate their own more than 50-year career. Doors for all shows will open at 6 p.m., and the concerts will start at 7:30 p.m.

"The Eagles have had a miraculous 52-year odyssey, performing for people all over the globe; keeping the music alive in the face of tragic losses, upheavals and setbacks of many kinds," the Grammy-winning rock legends said in a statement.

"We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful. Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle. ... We want to give all our fans a chance to see us on this final round.  So, scheduling information will be released as dates are set."

During the “Long Goodbye,” the Eagles — Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, with Oklahoma native and Country Music Hall of Famer Vince Gill and Deacon Frey — will perform as many shows in each market as their audience demands. The tour is expected to continue into 2025.

In 2017, Gill accepted an invitation to join the Eagles following the death of the seminal band’s co-founder Glenn Frey . The singer, songwriter and guitarist died in January 2016 at age 67, and along with Gill, Frey's son, Deacon, joined the lineup to keep the Eagles flying.

“It’s awesome. It really is. It’s just pretty hard to believe that I get the opportunity. I’m trying to be a good soldier for them and do a great job and sing and play bass,” Gill told The Oklahoman in a 2018 interview.

“Glenn was my friend. I knew him really well for 35 years or more, and I wish I wasn’t out there (because) that means he’d still be around. … But I’m just beyond flattered that they thought enough of me to think I could come and help fill that void.”

Tickets to the Eagles' 2024 Tulsa show go on sale at 10 a.m. Nov. 17 and will be available online at www.bokcenter.com . Tulsa ticket prices range from $145.50 to $499.50.

Presales begin at 10 a.m. Nov. 15 and will run through the close of business Nov. 16.

What other musicians and comedians are coming to Tulsa's BOK Center in 2024?

We at FRONT of HOUSE checked in recently on Hozier’s Unreal Unearth tour, which included nine exceptional musicians on stage with the gifted Irish singer-songwriter and musician. Hozier (Andrew John Hozier-Byrne) is a mixture of folk, blues and soul — his multi-platinum single “Take Me To Church” reached #2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 list in 2013. His debut album is 6x platinum in Ireland and multi-platinum in several other countries. He brought a lively show to the stage where we caught up with the tour and spoke to the artist’s FOH engineer Stephen “Pato” Pattison, monitor engineer Hunter Scoggins and systems engineer/crew chief Nick Sage. The sound company is Nashville-based Spectrum Sound.

 From the FOH Position

Pattison first met Hozier in 2017 through management and production contacts. He was working for another Irish act called The Script, and Hozier’s management came to see the tour at London’s O2 arena. Hozier’s production manager knew Pattison from a previous tour they’d done together with The Cranberries. Management liked what they heard and approached him for Hozier. “I met up with Andrew (Hozier) and the band in rehearsals in Dublin prior to their Wasteland Baby tour,” Pattison recalls. “We got on great and they also liked that I was a musician and could offer up feedback and ideas for arrangements in the live setting.”

The 2023 tour been an interesting one with Hozier, notes Pattison, as he’s used a number of console brands at FOH. “When we started back in March, we were doing lots of promo, festivals and fan-only events, which meant we could be playing in a TV studio, to 400 people in a club or to 40,000 people at a festival… So I knew every day would be different and I’d have to fit into whatever space was available without sacrificing quality, as Andrew (Hozier) doesn’t really do stripped down versions of songs especially when they’re new or not out yet! Andrew doesn’t use any ‘tracks’ — pre-recorded material live, which means we have a lot of musicians on stage; currently it’s nine people on stage using 60+ inputs. Everyone plays more than one instrument, and everyone sings. So we needed to fit everything in, whether we went from a club to a stadium.”

hozier tour us 2023

For the shows in the first half of the year, Pattison chose the Allen & Heath dLive console, which he says are super-scalable. “I actually took a C1500 compact console for the club shows where space was very tight, and an S7000 when space allowed.” Pattison did use a C1500 for the band’s Glastonbury Festival show, where he had plenty of space, but it was just easier to get the smaller console to and from FOH. “I didn’t lose anything other than physical fader count — both handle the same number of inputs (128), have the same number of mix buses (64), same FX, etc. And the exact same show file loads on both without having to put it through a converter or lose anything from my show file, so that was a no-brainer. dLive has almost every type of plug-in you could ask for, great FX and nice sounding preamps. For the rest of the year — after the album was launched in August — we’d mostly be playing arenas, so with more space at FOH, I decided to use a Yamaha Rivage PM7.”

Pattison says the Rivage offers plenty of flexibility and a higher channel and mix bus count along with a more comprehensive way of integrating processing and plug-ins. “Essentially my show file is set up in a very similar fashion: There’s a 64-input stage rack with fantastic-sounding preamps and Neve Silk Texture and a MADI card for digital splits to broadcast. At FOH, I have a Dante card fitted to the surface — once again for recording and virtual sound check.”

 Outboard Goes Inboard

Pattison is not carrying any outboard or external equipment for several reasons. “It’s nice to have a fancy valve (tube) preamp or compressor, but honestly, when I was using analog gear back in the day, no one ever turned around from the audience and asked ‘was that a dbx 160s on the second backing vocal?’ All those toys are really just for us ‘engineers,’ as we know how to get the result we want from that piece of gear or in some cases there’s even a placebo effect where because you’re looking at some old rack gear it ‘just sounds warmer.’”

Pattison says all the modern consoles have great features and FX onboard but adds that users do have to spend the time to tweak them, as presets are only a starting point. “I like using specific tools for specific jobs and unless it’s an obvious ‘effect’ — I prefer it when you notice the plug-in when you turn it off and suddenly it’s not quite as ‘nice’ as it was before. I like to use many small gains to make a difference — not one obvious change — but many subtleties combining to give me the result I’m after.”

For Pattison, clean and intelligible vocals are the goal. “I can then choose to either distort or add color to them. You can’t add what isn’t there in the first place, but you can take away what you don’t like about the raw signal. I like having processing in the most useful order, and on the Yamaha, I can move the inserts in the chain to get what I want. Once the signal’s at the console, I like to go in the order of Hi Pass filter, fast attack and release compressor like a modeled 1176, dynamic EQ like a BSS901 model, then static channel EQ, then another dynamic EQ, and then a slow compressor like an LA2A model.”

hozier tour us 2023

 Capturing that Sound

Hozier’s albums are often sonically dense, and reverb is a major player in the early recordings, notes Pattison. “The new material often features orchestral arrangements, so to keep the live version as rich, I’ll use some modulation FX on instruments and vocals. I always use stereo sends into FX so I can place instruments within the effected “cloud” that I add to the live mix. We have a cellist and violinist on tour, and they have their own pedal boards with FX for overdriven cello sounds, etc., but I also take a clean, dry version that I’ll use for my own reverb sends to build a string section out of a duo. I often use multiple reverbs on the same instrument such as room verbs along with halls and plates too. I’ll sum the instruments to groups and I mostly mix from there.”

Pattison says they’re using Universal Audio OX reactive load boxes with Dynamic Speaker Modeling on Andrew’s guitar amps to control the stage volume as he uses mostly semi-acoustic guitars. “He has a Gibson 330 that would howl near a loud tube amp, especially when he uses fuzz pedals. So I let the P.A. act as his amp and I’ll ride his level when he needs feedback and sustain or not. Me being a guitar player is definitely useful at different points — so do I need to change my EQ or turn the sub down or can we use cardioid subs, or maybe even change the arrangement. If you offer ideas that have a solid foundation and reasoning, and the band is happy on stage, mixing FOH so much easier.”

So far, this tour has been a great experience. “This is such a fantastic camp all around from top to bottom. Andrew is the nicest person, appreciates everything we do and takes any ideas the crew may have if it improves the show in any way. I’m always amazed how he remembers everyone’s name, there’s 50 plus people on the road with this show and he thanks everyone by name every night!”

d&b audiotechnik KSL P.A. hangs at stage left. Hozier 2023 tour photo by Steve Jennings

 The Systems Approach

This is Nick Sage’s second Hozier tour as systems engineer and crew chief. Sage started as the general tech with Spectrum Sound, the tour’s audio company since 2018. “The band and crew have always been staffed by incredibly talented, kind people who seem to rally around the music and are at the top of their game, which makes each day that much easier. Pato has been here since I began and fits that exact mold as someone who is absolutely ‘pro’ at their gig, while always looking to make the day a little more light-hearted. This is also the type of gig where the artist genuinely cares about his band and crew and that trickles down and makes people want to stay, which is a huge part of why a good majority of this crew has been together for a while.”

Sage has been with Spectrum for eight years and, similar to company clients, Hozier is one that they have supported almost from the beginning. “Spectrum had a relationship with the Hozier team since ‘Take Me to Church’ first began to chart and it was quickly decided that the original planned 6-week tour for the self-titled album would have to be extended. Bobby George, our Spectrum Sound account rep and PM Duchess Iredale had a small connection that led to a couple consoles being rented. Fast forward to now in what has blossomed into a 10-year-long partnership for his gigs in the U.S. & Canada.”

Up until 2019, Spectrum supplied consoles and then a control package with P.A. of the day. For the Unreal Unearth tour, Sage says they were able to have the consistency of a d&b KSL rig, while truly throwing it through the wringer of different venue types.

“Between Pato, myself and Bobby George, we were able to build a P.A. rig that would fill a large arena but be adaptable for whatever venue size we’d find ourselves in. The KSL system allows us to adapt to each room while being confident that we have the same coverage and sound every night.  The 12 KSL Subs across the front gives us nice, smooth low-end coverage while also giving that ‘punch’ that you wouldn’t expect from such a small postage stamp footprint of the KSL. With the system being rear-rejecting along with the band being completely on in-ears, it makes for a quiet stage and as much as a clean template as possible for Hunter (Scoggins) on monitors.”

Sage added that his “drive rack setup is pretty straightforward with our DirectOut Prodigy processor. The Prodigy allows for several inputs, which we use for our opener and then drive the amps via Dante with analog backups. I then time and tune in the d&b D80 amplifiers through R1 remote control software.”

Close friends for many years, Pattison helped show Sage the ropes of touring early on in his career. “Because of this, I owe lots of my personal setup and workflow to him,” Sage says. “He’s always had a simple setup that he will tinker with, as most good FOH engineers seem to do. On this run, he is entirely in the box with a PM7, which not only makes my job much easier but also showcases the benefits of having a Yamaha console out with us.”

Monitor engineer Hunter Scoggins. Hozier 2023 tour photo by Steve Jennings

 Meanwhile, in Monitor World

Hunter Scoggins mixes monitors for the band on an AVID S6L-24D connected to the E6L-192 engine, with 64 inputs from stage and tech worlds. Scoggins is currently running 30 outputs to run the show. “I have 14 stereo outs for my IEMs for the band and the techs. We have nine band member and four tech mixes every day with a dedicated IEM mix for guests.”

Scoggins notes that the guitar players no longer have amps on stage; those are placed stage right in the guitar/string tech world. “We have the cabinets of their choice set up and use Universal Audio’s OX amp attenuator and speaker modeling unit. This lets us get the sound of the chosen amp without the added stage volume. It also allows us to have working amps near stage for emergency purposes.”

With all nine performers on stage who sing and play multiple instruments, with several members moving to different positions to play different instruments, keeps things lively for Scoggins. “We also have a Nord keyboard setup far downstage right that is used by our cellist and one of our backing vocalists with a mic in that position. Because of these position and instrument changes, coupled with the many different instrumentations and arrangements during the show it’s imperative that I use my Snapshots diligently.”

Scoggins doesn’t use very many effects or plug-ins for the show. “Hozier and the band have spent countless hours developing the sounds they want in their music, and leading up to the tour, we spent lots of time working together to get the sounds and mixes they wanted on the road. “Hozier thrives in the live environment and the idea from the start was to have the show reflect that. I will add reverb to vocals and acoustic instruments to give a little more space to the mix and give it a more live feel. Occasionally I use a delay on some inputs, but by and large, I’ve managed to stay away from using many plug-ins — just some the AVID has available onboard.”

Hozier’s vocal mic is the Shure KSM11, which Scoggins says gives the vocal an “in your face” presence that really helps him in monitor world.  “Andrew loves a dynamic mix that reflects the live performance environment. The KSM11 lets me keep his vocal present in the mix, while minimizing extemporaneous stage noise and maintaining control of the mix.  There is a top-end bite sort of sound that he likes to hear in his vocal and this mic allows me to provide this with minimal effort from the console. He also uses a Shure 520 DX Green Bullet mic, which is designed for capturing harmonica. It has a lo-fi sound quality that he uses for specific lines in a few songs. I throw a little reverb on that to give it that old-school, lo-fi sound for those moments.”

Ultimate Ears IEMs are being used for the tour. Hozier, Scoggins and Alex the musical director and bass player are on the UE LIVE IEMs. The rest of the band are on UE 7 PRO and UE 11 PRO, depending on their personal preference.

“I couldn’t do my job without the techs we have on stage,” says Scoggins. “Murt Murphy is Hozier’s guitar tech and architect of his guitar rig. Our bass and drum tech Fred Burke’s work setting and tuning the drums makes my days so much easier. Bailey Griffith is our keys and strings tech and he covers our other guitars players on stage.”

hozier tour us 2023

Good Vibrations

Scroggins added one feeling shared by the entire crew. “Working with and mixing Hozier has been an incredibly rewarding experience. He knows what he wants to hear and is adept in communicating that to me. Hozier and his band are incredibly talented singers and musicians and they make mixing the show easier than I could’ve imagined.”

The tour is currently doing European and U.K. shows, wrapping up in 3Arena (Dublin, Ireland) on Dec. 22, 2023. A South American leg kicks off in March 2023, soon after followed by a return to U.S. dates in April.

Masters 2024 props, golf odds: Expert reveals top PGA Tour prop bets, parlay picks for Augusta National

Mike mcclure locked in his expert pga golf prop picks and parlay for the masters 2024 at augusta national.

hozier tour us 2023

The first 2024 Masters tee times will begin at 10:30 a.m. ET on Thursday after weather delayed the start of the opening round. At 100-1 to win outright in the 2024 Masters odds, it's unlikely that Tiger Woods will pick up his sixth career green jacket this week at the Masters 2024. However, there are still plenty of intriguing Masters Tiger props on the board for golf bettors to consider before he tees off. The latest 2024 Masters prop bets list Woods' Round 1 score over/under at 73.5, with the Over favored at -165 (risk $165 to win $100).

Other Tiger prop picks include a top-10 overall finish paying +900 and a top-20 performance returning +350. Which 2024 Masters props should you target involving Woods and every other golfer in the 2024 Masters field? Before locking in your 2024 Masters prop picks or entering Masters pool picks, you need to see what SportsLine DFS pro and PGA expert Mike McClure has to say .

McClure is a DFS legend with over $2 million in career winnings, and he's been red-hot on his PGA picks dating back to the PGA Tour restart in June of 2020. McClure uses his proprietary simulation model to analyze the field and crush his  golf picks . He is up almost $9,500 on his best bets since the restart.

McClure's model predicted Jon Rahm would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. At the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm's second career major victory heading into the weekend. It was the second straight Masters win for the model, which also nailed Scheffler winning in 2022.

This same model has also nailed a whopping 10 majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed McClure's picks has seen massive returns.

Now, McClure has dialed in on the Masters golf tournament and just locked in his top prop picks and PGA predictions. You can only see McClure's Masters 2024 prop picks at SportsLine .

Top 2024 Masters prop picks

We can tell you that one of McClure's favorite Masters prop picks is Ludvig Aberg to be the top debutant at +275. Despite turning pro less than a year ago, Aberg comes to Augusta in strong form. He's already picked up wins on both the PGA Tour and European Tour in the past seven months.

He's also made every cut during his 2024 PGA Tour schedule and hasn't finished worse than 25th in his past six events. His average finish position during that span is 12.8 and he's posted four rounds of 66 or lower this year, including an astonishing 63 in Round 4 of the Sentry. Wyndham Clark is the only other first-time Masters player who can claim a comparable recent run to Aberg, so McClure loves the value of betting on Aberg at a return that approaches 3-1.  You can see who else to back at SportsLine .

How to make Masters 2024 prop picks

McClure has also locked in a slew of other prop bets for the 2024 Masters, including a prop that pays almost 20-1 and comes from an unlikely player. You can find out who it is, and check out all of McClure's Masters prop picks at SportsLine .

Who wins the Masters 2024, and which golfer should you target for almost a 20-1 payout? Visit SportsLine now to get Mike McClure's Masters 2024 prop picks, all from the golf expert who is up almost $9,500 on his best bets since 2020 , and find out.

Will Benson Boone, Hozier or J. Cole Overtake ‘Like That’ on the Hot 100 Next Week?

Future, Metro Boomin & Kendrick Lamar's explosive new hit has spent its first two weeks atop the Hot 100, but faces a number of challengers for next week.

Trending on Billboard

In the meantime, “Beautiful Things” continues to grow at radio as the song jumps 9-4 on Radio Songs, rising another 15% in all-format airplay audience this week. It’s currently the only song to rank in the top five of Radio Songs, Digital Song Sales and Streaming Songs , so with the expected consumption lift from Fireworks (and the start of his accompanying headlining tour), it may be now or never for Boone’s breakout smash to finally grab the Hot 100’s top spot.

Hozier, “Too Sweet” (Rubyworks/Columbia) Few would’ve gone into 2024 expecting to involve Hozier in any discussions about the top of the Hot 100 — before last year’s comeback, he hadn’t even appeared on the chart since his No. 2-peaking “Take Me to Church” in 2015. But with 2023’s well-received Unreal Unearth and subsequent tour and an ever-growing TikTok presence, the Irish singer-songwriter is once again proving to be a real factor on the chart: Three songs from his new Unheard EP debuted last week, led by the No. 5-entering “Too Sweet.”

J. Cole, “7 Minute Drill” (Interscope/ICLG) While “Like That” has multiple challengers for Hot 100 supremacy next week, only one of them can claim to be a direct answer to it: J. Cole ’s “7 Minute Drill” was written in response to Lamar’s tough-talking verse on the No. 1 hit, with Cole taking aim at Lamar’s catalog spottiness and general lack of recent productivity. It didn’t quite detonate on impact the way “Like That” did, with many pundits taking issue with its more measured, perhaps less-committed tone, but it still shot up to nearly the top of digital service providers’ daily charts and remained the most debated song on social media all weekend.

Complicating the chances for “7 Minute Drill” to achieve maximum chart impact is Cole himself walking the song back a couple days later, apologizing at his Dreamville headlining set for letting himself be dragged into the muck of the beef and announcing his intention to remove the song from streaming services. As of Wednesday morning (April 10), “Drill” was still available for listening on DSPs, but Cole’s repudiation of a song that many fans were already somewhat conflicted about may have cost it any chance of being a real threat to “Like That” on the chart next week anyway.

Deep Purple announces 2024 tour with Yes. Get tickets today

In 1972, Deep Purple released the iconic “Smoke On The Water.”

Now, 52 years (!) later, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will celebrate their mega hit on their ‘1 More Time Tour’ with fellow Rock Hall inductees Yes all summer long.

Along the way, Ian Gillan and co. are scheduled to make five New York and New Jersey stops.

First, the heavy hitmakers drop into Camden, NJ’s Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on Friday, Aug. 30.

After that, the London natives swoop into Holmdel, NJ’s PNC Bank Arts Center on Aug. 31, Wantagh, NY’s Jones Beach Theater on Sept. 1 and Saratoga Springs, NY’s Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Sept. 4.

Deep Purple closes their NY run at Bethel’s Bethel Woods Center For The Arts on Sept. 6.

For fans that can’t wait to rock out to “Hush,” “Highway Star,” “Space Truckin'” — and of course “Smoke On The Water” — tickets for all North American concerts can be picked up as soon as today.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, April 12, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

A complete calendar including all North American tour dates, venues and links to buy tickets can be found below.

The band closed the North American leg of their 2023 tour in Orlando on Feb. 21.

According to Set List FM , here’s what Deep Purple performed — including guitar, keyboard and bass solos — that evening:

01.) “Highway Star”

02.) “Pictures of Home”

03.) “No Need to Shout”

04.) “Nothing at All”

05.) “Guitar Solo”

06.) “Uncommon Man”

07.) “Lazy”

08.) “When a Blind Man Cries”

09.) “Anya”

10.) “Keyboard Solo”

11.) “Perfect Strangers”

12.) “Space Truckin'”

13.) “Smoke on the Water”

14.) “Hush” (Joe South cover)

15.) “Bass Solo”

16.) “Black Night”

Being together for 56 years doesn’t mean Deep Purple doesn’t have more to give to the world.

In 2022, the band reached deep into their archives and dug out “ Extras: The Infinite B Sides and Bonus Songs”  which is a must for any Purple superfan.

However, what we found most interesting was the band’s latest record of original music, 2021’s bluesy, New Orleans-y  “Turning To Crime.”

Featuring epic rock (“7 and 7 Is”) as well as lively party startin’ tunes (“Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu”) and covers from B.B. King (“Let the Good Times Roll”) and Cream (“White Room”), the album is certainly a departure from the hard rockers’ heavy fare they’re famous for.

Still, for our money, the best track on the record is the Southern-fried rock and roll number “Oh Well.”

We’ve been listening to it on repeat all day.

You can hear the jubilant  “Turning To Crime” album in its entirety here .

After over 50 years together — they formed in 1968 — the core of Deep Purple remains the same.

Should you attend a show, here’s who you’ll likely see take the stage:

Ian Gillan lead vocals, harmonica, percussion (1969–1973, 1984–1989, 1992–present)

Roger Glover bass, keyboards, occasional backing vocals (1969–1973, 1984–present)

Ian Paice drums (1968–1976, 1984–present)

Don Airey keyboards (2002–present)

Simon McBride guitars, backing vocals (2022–present)

This tour is a twofer.

Joining Deep Purple on the road are fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Yes.

The long-running prog band is known for their hits like “Owner of A Lonely Heart,” “Roundabout,” “I’ve Seen All Good People” and many, many more.

If you want to dive into their deep catalog, you can find all of Yes’ music here .

It’s hard to believe the ’60s were over 50 years ago now.

Still, many acts that defined the sound of the groundbreaking musical era are still kicking it and on the road this year.

Here are just five of our favorite acts that have been rocking out since Nixon was in office that you can see live in the next few months.

•  Rolling Stones

•  Robert Plant with Allison Krauss

•  Bob Dylan with Willie Nelson

•  Ringo Starr

•  Graham Nash

Need even more classic rock in your life? We’ve got you covered. Check out our list of the  52 biggest classic rockers on tour in 2024 here to find out.

Wind will not be as strong but remain breezy out of the WNW at 10-15 mph. Gusts to 20-25 mph can be expected between 11 a.m.-5 p.m. before decreasing this evening.

Updated: Friday, April 12, 8:10 p.m. ET: Mostly sunny skies are forecast for Saturday at Augusta National with temperatures set to reach the mid-70s. A few wind gusts to 20 mph may occur between 12-5 p.m. Saturday. Mostly sunny and warmer Sunday, with the temperature climbing into the mid-80s.

Updated: Friday, April 12, 9 a.m. ET: Sunny and dry conditions are forecast throughout the day with a high temperature in the low 70s. Breezy conditions this morning, turning windy by midday with westerly wind gusts of 30-35 mph. Isolated higher peak gusts between 35-40 mph cannot be ruled out between 3-6 p.m.. After a cool start Saturday morning, temperatures will rebound nicely this weekend with highs in the mid-70s Saturday and mid-80s on Sunday amid plentiful sunshine.

Updated: Thursday, April 11, 7:51 p.m. ET: The first round of the Masters has been suspended due to darkness. Round 1 will resume on Friday at 7:50 a.m. with Round 2 tee times beginning as scheduled at 8 a.m.

Updated: Thursday, April 11, 8:11 a.m. ET: First-round tee times are set to begin at 10:30 a.m. off the first tee due to overnight and morning rain.

After a morning of monitoring strong storms that have affected states from Texas to Florida, Masters officials announced the gates will open to the patrons at 9:30 a.m., and honorary starters Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Watson will tee off at 10:10, followed by the first tee time in the 89-player field, Jake Knapp and Erik van Rooyen at 10:30.

According to weather.com, thunderstorms are possible around 8:30 a.m., with potentially strong, gusty winds.

Updated: Thursday, April 11, 7 a.m. ET: First-round tee times will be delayed at least an hour because of morning rain. "We continue to monitor the weather closely," read a post from the tournament on X. "Gate openings and tee times have been delayed until further notice. The first round will not begin before 9 a.m."

According to weather.com, it is expected to be cloudy from 7-8 a.m. but there is a chance of scattered thunderstorms from 8-10 a.m.

Updated: Wednesday, April 10 7 p.m. ET : The Masters has issued a weather update, noting that patron admission will be delayed Thursday due to adverse weather conditions expected overnight and into the morning.

"Due to forecasted weather on Thursday, we have decided to delay all gate openings in the morning," the Masters posted on X, formerly Twitter. "All Masters free parking will be closed until further notice while gate openings are delayed. Further updates will be shared no later than 5 a.m. via Masters.com and social channels."

Updated: Wednesday, April 10 10 a.m. ET: AUGUSTA, Ga. – The first round of the 88th Masters Tournament could be affected by inclement weather as dangerous conditions are predicted to arrive early Thursday.

There’s a 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms prior to 1 p.m., with wind gusts of 40-45 mph between 8 a.m. ET and noon. That would create potentially dangerous conditions and push back tee times, possibly bringing Friday into play for the conclusion of Round 1.

Last year’s Masters was also affected by weather, with second-round play pushed to Saturday and third-round play pushed to Sunday, when eventual winner Jon Rahm and co-runner-up Brooks Koepka played 30 holes.

Severe weather began slamming the southern United States on Tuesday night, continued into Wednesday and was expected to reach the Augusta area first thing Thursday.

According to the Masters Tournament weather update:

“A cold front is forecast to bring a band of rain and scattered thunderstorms through the region between 6 a.m.-1 p.m. ET Thursday. Heavy rainfall and occasional wind gusts of 40-45 mph are anticipated over this period. A lull in precipitation should occur behind the cold front between 1-4 p.m. ET before scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms drift back into the region for the late afternoon and evening hours.

“Windy conditions persist Friday under mostly sunny skies as a dry and stable airmass settles into the area. Mostly sunny skies can be expected through the weekend with west to southwesterly winds in the 7-15 mph range.”

  • Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms prior to 1 p.m. ET. Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Forecast rainfall: 1-1 1/2 inches. Wind gusts of 40-45 mph between 8 a.m.-noon. Low: 65F High: 77F Winds: S shifting SW 15-25; gusts 30-35 mph.
  • Friday: Mostly sunny and windy. Noticeably less humid. Low: 54F High: 72F Winds: W 15-20; gusts 30 mph.
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny and warm. Low: 49F High: 78F Winds: WNW turning W 7-15 mph.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny and warm. Low: 53F High: 84F Winds: W turning SW 7-15 mph.

The Masters has dealt with its share of weather conditions in recent years. The final round of Tiger Woods’ iconic 2019 victory came hours earlier than scheduled to avoid impending storms. Last year’s leaders played 30 holes on Sunday as storms wiped out much of the third round.

This year’s Masters is largely devoid of rainy conditions, with Thursday as the lone exception. According to the official Augusta National weather forecast, there is an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, with an expected rainfall of 1.00-1.50 inches.

“Isolated light showers are possible Tuesday and Wednesday before rain and thunderstorms arrive early Thursday and continue throughout the morning hours. A cold front is expected to pass through in the early afternoon, with diminishing precipitation chances for the remainder of Thursday. Thunderstorm wind gusts of 40-45 mph will be possible,” the official forecast stated.

Conditions are expected to clear up by Thursday afternoon and stay dry through the rest of the tournament. Here’s a day-by-day breakdown of the official Augusta National weather forecast:

  • Monday: Mostly sunny. Low: 48F High: 79F Winds: S 7-10 mph
  • Tuesday : Cloudy with a 25% chance of light showers. Low: 58F High: 77F Winds: SSE 5-10 mph
  • Wednesday : Cloudy with a 20% chance of light showers during the day and a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Low: 62F High: 80F Winds: S-SE 10-15, gusts up to 20 mph
  • Thursday : Mostly cloudy with an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Windy. Forecast rainfall: 1.00-1.50” Low: 65F High: 78F Winds: S shifting SW 15-20 gusts up to 30 mph
  • Friday : Mostly sunny and windy; noticeably less humid. Low: 56F High: 73F Winds: WNW 15-20 gusts up to 30 mph
  • Saturday : Mostly sunny and warm. Low: 50F High: 78F Winds: WNW turning W 7-12 mph
  • Sunday*: Mostly cloudy. Low: 61F: High 82F Winds: SW 6-13 mph, gusts of 17 mph
