Special Hours of Operation

  • During Holy Week , from Palm Sunday to Holy Saturday, it operates in the morning, from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 3:30 p.m. On Easter Sunday, it operates from 5:00 p.m.
  • On December 25 and January 5, it operates only until 15:00.

On board the tourist train

The Granada Tourist Train follows a route around the city centre. Throughout a journey lasting 90 minutes , the train makes a total of 12 different stops , allowing you to see the city's most iconic monuments. Admire the Alhambra and Generalife , the Monastery of Cartuja and the Granada Cathedral .

You'll also see important sites like the famous San Cristóbal Mirador, Plaza Nueva and Campo del Príncipe.

Throughout the route, you'll also be able to listen to  recorded commentary in English  and other languages, keeping you informed with interesting explanations about the monuments along your tour. Children under 8 years old will also enjoy the special  kids' audioguide  with fun facts just for them - what's more, they go free! Please note: you'll need to bring your own headphones to use the audioguide, or you may use those on board for € 1.50 ( US$ 1.60) , paid on the day.

Ticket Types

When making your reservation, you'll have the choice between two different ticket types:

  • 1-day ticket : with this ticket, you can hop on and hop off of the tourist train as many times as you'd like within one day.
  • 2-day ticket : hop on and hop off of the tourist train as many times as you'd like over the course of two days.  

Schedule & Frequency

The Granada tourist train operates from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm every day. The frequency is one train every 30 to 35 minutes approximately.

The train starts at 9:30 am at the Plaza Nueva and Alhóndiga stops. The last departures that make the complete route will be at 5:45 pm in Plaza Nueva and at 6 pm in Alhóndiga.

Bank Holidays

  • 5th January : 10 am to 3 pm
  • Easter :  Palm Sunday to Easter Saturday  from 9 am to 3 pm.  Easter Sunday  from 5 pm to 10 pm
  • Saturday 4th May 2024 : Due to the Granada Half Marathon, the service will end at 7 pm
  • 24th and 31st December : 9:30 am to 4 pm

The TREN TURÍSTICO ticket is valid for one day. If you buy a GRANADA CARD BÁSICO or PLUS (3-DAY or 5-DAY BONO TURÍSTICO), the price of the TREN TURÍSTICO is included.

There are TRAINS every 25 minutes.

The audioguide offers an interesting commentary of Granada, its monuments and history and is available in 12 different languages. There are also two channels for children.

There are two routes: the DAY route (going through the Albaicín, the city centre and up to the Alhambra) takes about 75 minutes and the NIGHT route (going through the Albaicín and the city centre) takes about 45 minutes.

NIGHT ROUTE There is also a shorter night route that does not go up to the Alhambra.

¡Los mejores!!! El mejor servicio y atención que hemos recibido. Estuvimos en el tren y al bajar a mí marido se le quedó el chaleco con las llaves del coche dentro. Cuando nos dimos cuenta nos sentimos perdidos en Granada, teníamos todo el equipaje en el coche en el parking de la Alhambra, con dos niñas pequeñas y no teníamos nada. El tren ya estaba fuera de servicio y les mandé un mensaje. Enseguida me contestó una chica y por si acaso me llamó directamente que ya iba un chico de nombre Antonio a abrir la sede donde se guardan los trenes para darnos las llaves que si estaban y que estuviéramos tranquilos, nos salvaron la vida, las vacaciones y la alegría de nuestras niñas. Yo les doy un 💯 al servicio. GRACIAS POR VUESTRA ATENCIÓN. Ah y venimos de Asturias, o sea que perdidos totalmente.

Mi experiencia en la visita a la Alhambra ha sido estupenda, bien organizada, muy interesante, un montón de datos e información. El guía un 10, profesional, agradable y sabía muchísimo. Estuvimos el jueves 22, visita de las 12 h. Mucho calor pero merece la pena. Repetiremos. Gracias

¨There is no city that without madness can dispute Granada / the palm of its beauty. ¨ – Victor Hugo. This is how the French poet described the essence of this Andalusian city. Granada has countless nooks and crannies to be discovered by those willing to walk its streets and soak up its culture.

The tourist train is a great opportunity for any traveller who doesn’t want to miss out on the city’s most important sights. This hybrid transport, designed to take you out into the narrow streets, offers its passengers a panoramic tour at only 25 km per hour. You can also add to this experience our Granada Tours to immerse yourself in the history of this impressive city.

This transport has two possible routes to choose from, day and night, which, although sharing several stops, guarantee totally different experiences for its customers.

The train is equipped with multimedia content screens accompanied by explanations of the different highlights of the tour that will make this experience an interactive journey that envelops passengers. Audioguides are available in Spanish, Catalan, German, Portuguese, English (USA), Japanese, French, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Arabic and Korean.

People with reduced mobility are welcome to enjoy this visit, as the train is equipped for this purpose.

Daytime route

It has 13 stops:

Starts at the Nasrid heritage, the Alhambra , the most visited World Heritage Site in Spain – Cuesta Gomérez – Plaza Nueva , the oldest square connecting historical sites and location of the central office of this service – Paseo de los Tristes , old passage to the cemetery  – Mirador de San Nicolás – San Miguel Bajo – Jardines del Triunfo , old cemetery and where Fray Leopoldo rests since 1956 – Monasterio de San jerónimo , from 1504 and first in the city and San Juan de Dios , formerly a Catholic hospital located in the monastery and now in disuse due to a robbery  – Plaza de la Romanilla , where the Cathedra l is located, dating from 1505 – Calle Alhóndiga – Plaza de Mariana Pineda , near the Corte Inglés – Calle Molinos , where the Campo del Príncipe is located – and the Alhambra Palace Hotel , 100 metres from the Carmen de los Mártires , a tribute to the Christians held by the Arabs.

Night route

It has 9 stops:

It starts at Plaza Nueva , where you can find historical landmarks and end the day enjoying bars and tea shops – followed by Paseo de los Tristes , location of bullfighting and canas events, where the nightlife is transformed during these festivities – Mirador de San Nicolás – Plaza de San Miguel Bajo – Jardines del Triunfo , where despite being a place where many Granadians lost their lives at the hands of the French, today it is immersed in gardens, fountains and architecture – Monasterio de San Jerónimo – Catedral de Granada , a Renaissance heritage that houses 181 years of history and which you can enter through our guided Tours of the Cathedral and the Royal Chapel – Calle Alhóndiga – ending at Plaza Mariana Pineda.

Timetables and prices

The adult price for a full day is 8 euros. During the trip, passengers can get off at the stops provided to tour the city’s historical landmarks, with the possibility of resuming the tour whenever they wish. There is also the possibility of travelling for two consecutive days for 12 euros. For over 65s, the price is reduced to 4 euros per day or 6 euros for those 2 days. For children under 8 years old and for those in possession of the Tourist Pass the service is free of charge.

On the daytime route, from April to October , the timetable will be from 09:30 to 21:30 and from November to March , from 09:30 to 19:30 , both during the whole week. The train runs every 20 minutes and covers a total of 10 kilometres for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

From April to October on the night route , the timetable will be from 21:30 to 23:00 , from Tuesday to Saturday, and from November to March , from 19:30 to 23:00 , only Fridays and Saturdays. The train travels 4 kilometres for 40 minutes.

In addition, please consult the dates of public holidays due to a possible change in the timetable.

Itinerary 1: Sevilla – Malaga

Sevilla - Tren Al Andalus

1st Day: Seville - Jerez

The first day of the Al Andalus train route our staff will welcome you at 10:00 am at Alabardero Hotel in Seville. After putting your suitcases in a safe place, we will invite you to go to the hotel hall, where there will be a space reserved for train passengers. Our waiters will serve you snacks and drinks. In addition, we will provide you with the travel ticket, your room number and the day’s itinerary.

After the presentation of the guide that will accompany you in Seville,  we will go out to visit the historic quarter of the capital of Andalusia. On this complete tour of the city you can discover monumental gems such as the Cathedral , crowned by the Giralda , a symbol of Seville. You will also see the Royal Alcazar , a wonderful set of palaces with spectacular gardens, and stroll through the alleys of Santa Cruz Quarter , where the Jewish community once settled.

At lunchtime we will return to the Hotel Alfonso XIII, where you will taste the most famous dishes of local cuisine. You will continue discovering the city on a panoramic bus tour, making a very special stop at the beautiful Plaza de España .

Then we will head to the station to board the Andalusian train . The crew will greet you with a welcome toast and then settle in your luxurious and comfortable room . Soon after we will start the journey to Jerez . On the way, you will enjoy dinner in one of the fabulous restaurant wagons on board.

Already in Jerez, the train will stay at the station so that you have a better rest at night.

Jerez de la Frontera - Tren Al Andalus

2nd Day: Jerez - Cádiz

This second day of the Al Andalus 2024 Train tour , after replenishing our strength with a good breakfast served on board, we will travel by luxury bus to Cadiz . We will visit the attractions of the historic center of this ancient city, the oldest in the western world. Then we will have free time to explore the city on our own and get drunk on its Cadiz charm.

We will get back on the bus to return to the train and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by our chef. We will have time to enjoy the beautiful Belle Epoque style rooms before dinner time in a restaurant in Jerez.

The train will remain at the station and we’ll overnight in Jerez.

Cádiz - Tren Alandalus

3rd Day: Jerez - Ronda

After breakfast, we will board the bus that will take us to a famous Sherry winery . There we will learn the secrets of making this renowned drink with Denomination of Origin. In addition, we will taste the best specimens that the winery produces. We will finish the visit in Jerez attending the equestrian show “How the Andalusian Horses Dance”.

We will return to the Al Andalus Train to head for the beautiful White Village of Ronda . Along the way, we’ll enjoy a hearty lunch in the onboard dining cars.

We will liven up the afternoon with performances and shows in the train’s luxurious lounge cars. Then we will go by bus to have dinner in a restaurant in Ronda.

The train will stop in Ronda to spend the night in this town.

Ronda - Tren Al Andalus

4th Day: Ronda - Córdoba

After breakfast we will get ready to tour the old city of Ronda , which is part of the route of the beautiful White Villages . Our guide will take you through the Alameda del Tajo , the New Bridge and the Old Bridge. You will also see the oldest bullring in Spain, the Palacio Mondragón, among other emblematic places. You will have free time to explore Ronda freely and admire the beautiful views of the Serranía.

Back on board the luxurious Al Andalus Train , we will make the journey to Cordoba , while we taste a select meal.

We will spend the night in Cordoba.

Granada Tren Al Andalus

5th Day: Córdoba - Úbeda - Baeza - Granada

Like every day, after breakfast, we will continue the itinerary of the Al Andalus Train. We will visit Cordoba , which in medieval times was an opulent city, capital of the Al Ándalus caliphate. We will enter one of its World Heritage Sites, in the impressive Mosque of Cordoba .

Then we will return to our hotel on wheels to regain strength with a delicious lunch while we continue on our way to the Linares station, in Baeza . Along the way, the protagonists will be the unique landscapes of the Andalusian countryside . Take the opportunity to relax with the views, while having a drink lying comfortably in the privacy of your suite or in one of the train cars.

In the afternoon we will visit Ubeda and Baeza , two towns that hold the title of  World Heritage Cities .

Back on board, we will continue the route on the Al Ándalus train bound for Granada , the home of the famous Alhambra . During the journey we will delight ourselves with a well-deserved dinner served on board and then you can enjoy the nightly entertainment program.

Finally, we will spend the night at the Granada station.

Baeza Tren Al Andalus

6th Day: Granada

This will be a very special day! We will see inside the most visited place in Spain: The Alhambra, a World Heritage Site. We will visit the beautiful palaces and gardens of this fortress that was once the home of sultans and kings. Take the opportunity to take photos in the spectacular Nasrid Palaces and its Lions courtyards. And relax strolling through the fabulous gardens and fountains of the Generalife Palace.

In the afternoon there will be free time to explore the center of Granada on your own. We will round off the night with dinner at a local restaurant, where you will taste the most select dishes of Granada cuisine.

Córdoba Tren Al Andalus

7th Day: Granada - Málaga

On the last day of the Al Andalus Train route , after enjoying breakfast on board, we will say goodbye to the train and its crew to take the coach to Malaga , where we will visit its Alcazaba , palatial fortification of the Muslim era.

Free time and lunch at the Hotel AC by Marriot Málaga Palacio , where the trip will end around 5:00 p.m.

Itinerary 2: Málaga – Sevilla

Sevilla - Tren Al Andalus

1st Day: Málaga - Granada

On the first day of the tour on the Tren Al Andalus , our staff will receive you at 10:00 am at the Hotel AC by Marriot Málaga Palacio . After putting your suitcases safely, we will invite you to go to the hotel hall, where there will be a space reserved for train passengers. Our waiters will serve you a variety of canapés and drinks . In addition, we will provide you with the travel ticket, your room number and the itinerary for the day.

After the presentation of the guide that will accompany you in Malaga, we will go out to visit the city next to its Alcazaba , a palatial fortification from the Muslim era . At lunchtime we will return to the Hotel AC by Marriot Málaga Palacio , where you will taste the most famous dishes of the local gastronomy .

This will be a v ery special day ! We will see inside the most visited place in Spain: The Alhambra, a World Heritage Site . After our first breakfast, we will visit the beautiful palaces and gardens of this Nasrid fortress that was once the home of sultans and kings .

Take the opportunity to take photos in the spectacular Nasrid Palaces and its Patio de los Leones . And relax walking among the fabulous gardens and fountains of the Generalife. After lunch, there will be free time to explore the center of Granada on your own.

We will return to the train to go to the Linares station in Baeza while we enjoy a magnificent dinner on board .

3rd Day: Úbeda - Baeza - Córdoba

After breakfast, we will have the opportunity to visit Úbeda and Baeza , two towns that hold the title of World Heritage Cities . Back on board, we will enjoy lunch on the way to our next destination: Córdoba . In medieval times, it was an opulent city, capital of the Caliphate of Al Ándalus .

We will learn about its history in an interesting guided tour.

In the late afternoon, we will have dinner and spend the night in the city .

4th Day: Córdoba - Ronda

On our 4th day, after our breakfast, we will enter one of the most outstanding World Heritage Sites in the city of Cordoba : the impressive Mosque of Córdoba .

Back aboard the luxurious Al Andalus Train , we will make the journey to Ronda , while we taste a select meal. In the afternoon, we will visit the ancient city of Ronda, which is part of the route of the beautiful White Towns . Our guide will take you through the Alameda del Tajo , the Puente Nuevo and the Puente Viejo . You will also see the oldest bullring in Spain, the Mondragón Palace , among other emblematic places. You will have free time to explore Ronda freely and admire the beautiful views of the Serranía.

Jerez de la Frontera - Tren Al Andalus

5th Day: Ronda - Jerez de la Frontera

In addition, we will taste the best specimens that the winery produces. We will end the visit in Jerez by attending the equestrian show “How Andalusian Horses Dance” .

6th Day: Jerez de la Frontera - Cádiz

On this sixth day of the Al Andalus Train 2024 tour , after regaining strength with a good breakfast served on board, we will travel by luxury bus to Cádiz.

We will visit the attractions of the historic center of this thousand-year-old city , the oldest in the Western world . Then we will have free time to tour the city on our own and get drunk on its Cádiz charm as well as an excellent meal.

In the afternoon, we will visit Jerez and have dinner and sleep at the station

Córdoba Tren Al Andalus

7th Day: Seville

After enjoying our last breakfast on board and saying goodbye to the crew, we will go out to visit the historic center of the capital of Andalusia .

In this complete tour of the city you will be able to see monumental jewels such as the Cathedral , crowned by the Giralda , a true symbol of Seville. You will also walk through the narrow streets of the Barrio de Santa Cruz , where the Jewish community once settled.

We will continue with a magnificent meal at the Alabardero Hotel in Sevilla . At around 17:00 p.m ., we will end our trip through the south of Spain .
