What do they say about us, travelers testimonials, matt ebiner.

Thank you for organizing the Jordan tour for my group from 4-11 January, in conjunction with Anubis Tours in Egypt. Abdullah was an excellent guide and the driver was also excellent. The tour went very well and the group especially enjoyed Rahayeb Camp in Wadi Rum. Ayass Hotel in Amman and Ramada Dead Sea Resort were also very good. The one hotel we didn't like as much was Seven Wonders Hotel in Wadi Musa. It was good, but not as good as the other 3 places we stayed in Jordan.

Anna Marchisio

We want to thank you for the excellent work done in the organization and management of our itinerary. Excellent professionalism and kindness of the driver you have assigned to us. Thanks for everything!

Jeremy van Heerde

Queen Cleopatra - 7 days Tour

  • Christmas & New Year

Queen Cleopatra - 7 days

In general, we can say that it was an amazing adventure, which included not only hiking to the points with the main attractions, but also acquaintance with the historical culture of Egypt. You can see not only the pyramids, but also take a walk through the amazing and very peculiar markets. The tour itself seemed a little unbalanced due to the large amount of information and attractions that you will visit in the short period of time that you have. Be prepared that if you want to get as much information as possible, visit as many attractions as possible, you will need to pay extra for this. In terms of food, in general, the food in hotels and cruises is not bad, but the food is more in European and American styles, which was very boring. We had our tour at period of Ramadan and some of the restaurants were closed, so before visiting the pyramids, we had to grab our lunch at a local diner and eat it on the way. And that was really good and what was missed along the next tour days. And indeed, throughout the tour, you can only eat local food a couple of times - this lunch in Cairo in front of the pyramids and in the Nubian village. It is worth noting, that our tour guide Eman was very good. She told us very interesting stories starting from the pyramids and ending by the history how the tombs were discovered. She tried to make us see as much as possible and it is clear that she likes her job and gets a lot of pleasure from it. This greatly affected the quality of the tour. However, not everything was smooth. Not only amazing discoveries are waiting for you, but also a huge number of people who are trying to deceive you in every possible way. There was a moment when a girl from our group was surrounded by children who tried to extort money from her for their goods, which she did not need. It was very difficult to discourage them, but the locals quickly coped with it. There was a moment when people in the market literally fought for our attention, which was also a little unpleasant. Be sure to include the pen in your checklist, because it will be useful to you at the airport several times, and they won't give it to you there. It is recommended arriving at Cairo/Luxor Airport at least 2 hours before your departure, because there is complete chaos and you may just miss your flight.

Nile Jewel - 5* Cruise

I cannot even begin to explain how happy we were with this tour. From the moment we booked, the company was extremely accommodating and responsive, answering all of our questions and helping us make additional arrangements for extra nights, tours, etc. There was some safety concerns going into it, but once we arrived we never felt unsafe. Everything was executed flawlessly. The moment we landed in Cairo they had everything under control, from meeting us at the airport and helping us get our visas and exchange our money until it was time to catch our flight home.. they didn't miss a beat. We laughed to ourselves a few times because it seemed they had anticipated what we were going to need before we even asked about it. We had a great group and our guide, Ramez, was a walking Wikipedia of Egyptian history. Having someone with that amount of knowledge really elevated the entire experience and made us appreciate what we were seeing even more. I'm not going to lie, I was exhausted by the end of it. 😆 But it was 100% worth it. This definitely wasn't a vacation, it was an adventure - and one I'd do all over again.

Pharaohs Nile Cruise Adventure - Return Flights Included

It was good. In the beginning, we had some issues with the lack of communication in El Cairo. We chose the sleeping train option from El Cairo to Luxor (included in the tour) but we spent 3-4 hours sitting in the train station when we could have done anything else. Also, we didn't know that the train didn't have showers and we were supposed to start the tour day in Luxor as soon as we arrived.... so if you are choosing the sleeping train option consider this, also that you share the bathroom with the people in the same wagon. Once we arrived on the cruise, everything went smoothly. The tour guide always took care of us, gave us tips, and explained everything well. The cruise was overall good, they gave you what you paid for. I do recommend the tour!

Essential Egypt (5 Star Hotels) Tour

Essential Egypt (5 Star Hotels)

The whole tour was very well organised. Our guide Mo was very knowledgeable and passionate about the places we went to see. He knew all the tips and tricks to miss the crowds and how to deal with the locals trying to sell us their wares at each of the temples, even giving tips on how to barter and how much to pay. He was also very efficient at keeping us all on time and making sure that time wasn't wasted by waiting for people to get back to the coach. The tour ticked off all the places we wanted to see and in our case my husband wanted to also see the Bent and Red pyramids - Bishoo from TravelTalk dealt with all the arrangements to make sure he got to visit them on our last day. This was our first time doing a tour and it was a very positive experience, As a result we will be looking at what other tours TravelTalk run around the world for future trips. Can highly recommend this tour for discovering Essential Egypt and especially TravelTalk.

Egypt is amazing, but best of all was Mo Fahrid as our guide. His skill at negotiating and managing all aspects of the tour was superb. Watching other guides at the Cairo Museum made me value his expert knowledge even more! Any possible contingency was anticipated and solved. Extras that we requested were delivered. Mo’s personal service made every day a delight. This was a dream of an experience.

Goddess Hathor - 8 Days (5 stars) Tour

Goddess Hathor - 8 Days (5 stars)

Really great action packed tour. To set expectations, this is not supposed to be a relaxing trip, but one that is continously on the go and some early starts if you take the optional add ons. The tour guide Anas (for majority of the trip) and Nur (our guide in Cairo) were amazing and very knowledgeable. You would be lucky to get them. The tour company itself was by far outstanding right from the day before of the trip to the very last day. You can't ask for more. They go out of the way to make everything perfect. Communication is always key and they were perfect in this area. This one trip is action packed with going to mainly see Temples (including most of the optionals) so bare this in mind. My favourite was one of the optional which was from Luxor and the temple name was Dandara. The hotels in Cairo was good and the one in Luxor amazing. However, the boat tour (ours was Princess Sarah) although advertised as 5 stars is to be questioned if this was really 5 stars or maybe 3 at best as no water was made available as complimentary and no wifi!!!

10-Day Ancient Egypt Tour (Superior Hotels)

I enjoyed my recent Egypt trip with Vacations To Go Travel, just as my travel companion did! Bassem, our guide, was excellent, and the Nile cruise was unforgettable. However, the early start for day tours left me feeling exhausted, especially during Ramadan when daytime hours were shorter. Despite this, both my friends and I enjoyed the trip immensely. Thank you! - Jia Li

My experience in Egypt with Egypt Direct Tour was amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the professional guide, Bassam, who expertly explained Egypt's ancient history. We explored the noble tombs near the pyramids which were not really popular among tourists, providing a unique experience. Although one guide wasn't helpful, the agency promptly replaced him upon my reflection. Also, they provided the assistance immediately when my flight was canceled. Overall, I had good experience in exploring Egypt thanks to their reliable service.

What people love about Fully Guided Tours in Egypt

Queen Cleopatras is a great tour, highly recommended, Anas is a great guide, he explained everything about Egyptian culture and toke care about our group! I will recommend to head office to deliver schedules with the tours to be able to plan our days. Cruse was amazing, service is great and everyone is very friendly! Also there is laundry available at your room! Ruby II is a great option, the room is very nice! I won’t recommend to take the train from Cairo to Aswan, service is great but services are not good (very old and dirty), washrooms very dirty!
Mina was an incredible tour guide - so friendly and knowledgeable. He is such a kind hearted man who made our trip so special.
Mina was the best tour guide. He was so knowledgeable, fun, kind and so enthusiastic. He always answered any questions we had and was always so willing to help. Couldn’t have had a better guide than Mina. We loved every moment of the trip and our group was amazing as well. Such an amazing trip.

At 08:30 AM, prepare for an exciting pick-up and transfer to a sightseeing tour that will take you to some of Egypt's most iconic landmarks: the Pyramids, the Sphinx, and Sakkara. You'll be introduced to your English-speaking Egyptologist/Guide, who will lead you on this journey through ancient history.

Your first destination is the Western Plateau of Gizeh, home to the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus. These monumental structures are Egypt's greatest monuments and the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World, standing majestically as the city encroaches upon them. Enjoy a panoramic view of the Pyramids from a vantage point on the Plateau, offering a perfect opportunity for memorable photos.

Continue your journey down the valley to visit the Sphinx, the enigmatic guardian of this mortuary complex. This mighty statue has silently witnessed the passage of time and civilizations for thousands of years.

Your guide will share insights into the Great Pyramid of Cheops, revealing its age of about 4600 years, determined through archaeological and radiocarbon dating methods. This pyramid is a testament to the architectural prowess of ancient Egypt.

Next, you'll explore Sakkara, the necropolis for the ancient capital, Memphis. This site is home to numerous temples, pyramids, and tombs, including the famous Step Pyramid of King Zoser, possibly Egypt’s first and the oldest stone structure of its size in the world. Enjoy a delightful buffet breakfast at your hotel, preparing you for a day full of historical exploration and cultural immersion in Cairo.

At 08:30 AM, you'll be picked up for a sightseeing tour that begins with a visit to the Egyptian Museum. Located on the edge of Tahrir Square, this iconic museum, opened in 1902, was specifically designed to showcase the antiquities of Ancient Egypt. It houses an unparalleled collection of over 120,000 artifacts, including the treasures from Tutankhamen’s tomb, with exhibits spanning from the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt (around 2700 BC) through the Greco-Roman period.

Next, you'll delve into Coptic Cairo, an area originally known as the Roman fortress town of Babylon, which holds great significance for early Christians. Here, you'll discover ancient Christian monuments that have withstood the test of time and are still revered by the Copts. The area also houses several mosques and a historic synagogue, serving Cairo's small Jewish community. A notable site in Old Cairo is the Church of Al Muallaqa, also known as the Hanging Church. This ancient place of worship, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, is built atop an old fortress gatehouse, with its nave intriguingly suspended over a passage.

Your tour will then take you to the Citadel, a striking medieval fortress with crenelated walls and towers, perched on a hill above Midan Salah al Din. For about 700 years, it served as the residence for most of Egypt’s rulers. The Citadel complex today includes three mosques and four museums. You'll learn about its history, including the significant modifications and additions made over the centuries, such as those by Mohammed Ali, one of the last rulers to reside there. His contributions include the Mohammed Ali Mosque, also known as the Alabaster Mosque, an architectural marvel with its vast interior, impressive dome, half-domes, and slender minarets.

This comprehensive tour offers a deep dive into Cairo's rich history and cultural diversity, concluding with a transfer back to your hotel for another overnight stay in this vibrant city.

Hamam Mahshi

In Egypt, pigeons are marinated and stuffed with rice or freekeh, onions, giblets and a variety of spices like cumin, pepper and cinnamon. What to pack for Egypt

People packing for a tour

Pack for sustainable travel

Consider your environmental impact when you next take a trip and go single-use-plastic-free by packing a reusable water bottle, a steel straw, your own shopping bags and refillable toiletry bottles.

Adaptor plug

In Egypt, the standard voltage is 220 V and the power plugs and sockets are of type C and F. The standard frequency is 50 Hz.

Comfortable shoes

From exploring the Great Pyramids of Giza, to wandering the Botanical Gardens, you’ll need a comfortable pair of shoes on your Egypt holiday.

Light clothing

Egypt is known for its blazing heat, so it’s best to wear light, loose-fit clothing. Since Egypt is a Muslim country, you’ll need to ensure your shoulders and knees are covered.

The sunshine can be blinding in Egypt, so bring a pair of sunglasses to protect you from the sun rays and the sandy desert.

Protect yourself from the sun with SPF 30 or higher and be sure to apply it regularly. It’s also advised to bring a hat and a light scarf to shield your skin.

f

Down the Nile in Style!

2

“This is one of the most extraordinary trips I've ever taken,” said Susan. “We spent seven days there and it just wasn't enough time. The hotels were magnificent, the river cruise was relaxing and opulent, and the history and relics were beyond your wildest dreams.”

First stop: Cairo

2

The next morning, they met their Egyptologist (Zeinab) who would prove to be an elegant and knowledgeable guide to all the culture they were to experience. The first stop was the world-famous Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. The Museum's remarkable collection (including the famous treasures of Tutankhamen and the Mummy Room) is an excellent introduction to Egypt.

“The one thing that was both jarring and reassuring was the presence of tourist police everywhere we went,” Susan shared. “They wear white, carry guns and provide security for both travelers and the Egyptian sites. We were there right before President Obama, so there was a real energy about the city and locals were always asking us if we liked Obama.”

2

“It was incredible to see the discoveries from inside the pyramids,” said Susan. “We visited the Solar Boat Museum, which contains Cheops' 142-foot-long funerary boat, a full-size vessel that was buried with him to carry him to the next world.”

A flight south took them to Aswan, long a trade center and gateway to the south, which offered an intriguing blend of African and Oriental influences. Then a second flight took them to the site of the magnificent temple of Ramses II.

Susan enthusiastically remembers this leg of trip, “The face of the great temple is dominated by four enormous statues of the Pharaoh Ramses II, each over 60 feet high. It is so impressive to begin with and then even more so when you learn that it was raised up the hillside when threatened by floodwaters from Lake Nasser and the High Dam project. This was only one of the great temples we visited and one was more awe-inspiring than the next.”

All this and a cruise too!

2

Aboard the Sun Boat IV, one evening is Egyptian Night and guests have the chance to dress up in traditional Egyptian “galabeyyas.” Dinner that night was a lavish buffet of Egyptian specialties, followed by Arabic music and dancing for everyone.

The following morning, the party enjoyed docking in Luxor, known to the ancient Egyptians as “Thebes.” Once there, they toured the West Bank - the Necropolis of Thebes - the burial ground of the Great Pharaohs of the New Kingdom. They visited the Valley of the Kings & Queens, where so far 64 tombs have been discovered, including the Tomb of the famous “Boy King” Tutankhamen and the temple of Egypt's first female pharaoh.

“The enormity of the structures really overwhelms you,” said Susan. “The Great Hypostyle Hall at the Karnak Temple, which was the seat of Amun, the Imperial God, covers 50,000 square feet, larger than the whole of Notre Dame Cathedral. There are 134 great columns that support one roof. You wonder how this could have been engineered and constructed in the 12th century B.C.”

2

“It was so interesting to see ancient synagogues, churches, mosques…all with such beautiful artwork, gold, and carvings,” said Susan. “The cartouche inside the pyramids with their hieroglyphics, the “Hanging Church,” where it is said that Jesus, Joseph and Mary sought refuge when they fled Palestine, the temples that seem impossible to construct. This was definitely one of the most wonderful trips I've ever taken and I would love to help others plan their adventure to Egypt. I highly recommend it!”

Atlas Mountains Day Trips – Everything You Need To Know

You may be planning to visit Morocco in the near future, and making plans for the cities and destinations you intend to visit. However, there are several spots in the country that often overwhelm travelers hoping to pay them a visit. This is because the areas are vast and difficult to understand easily. Consider planning a visit to the Moroccan part of the Sahara Desert or the Atlas Mountains…it automatically tells you that you may need a deeper level of knowledge just to plan a visit. Fortunately, that is not the case, and where the Atlas Mountains are concerned, it is much easier than you might think to plan the perfect Atlas Mountains tour.

Atlas Mountains Day Trip

Understanding the Atlas Mountains

Like many large mountain ranges in the world, the Atlas is actually three different ranges. They are known as the Anti Atlas, the Middle Atlas and the High Atlas. In the far north of the country are also the Rif Mountains and in the farthest south are the mountains of the Sahara known as the Jbel Sarharo.

This tells you that any Atlas Mountains tours can begin from more than one location since they stretch almost the length of the country. While a huge number start in Marrakech , there are other routes available. The more important factor, though, is to consider the difficulty of the drive. This is one reason that the best Atlas Mountains day trip is one in which you do none of the driving on your own.

In fact, a travel expert for the publication The Guardian agreed, saying “ Normally I’m happy to get behind the wheel, but [it] offered the chance for me to take in the scenery…Added to that our route, over the 2,092m-high Tizi n’Test pass, is one of Morocco’s most challenging roads, and best driven…by someone who has done it before. ” (Guardian, 2013)

So, an Atlas Mountains day trip is remarkably scenic but also challenging to navigate if you are distracted by such things as pretty mountain villages, small cottages tucked among blossoming fields, and light that seems to belong in a painting more than a mountainside.

Destinations for an Atlas Mountains day trip

  • Asni – In the foothills of the High Atlas, it is only an hour from Marrakech and is surrounded by villages, fruit orchards, and gardens. It is part of the route that some take from Marrakech to Taroudant and leads to the famous, but difficult to navigate Tizi-n-Test pass.
  • Imlil – A Berber village close to the Jbel Toubkal – the highest peak in the northern part of Africa. It is a popular stop for tourists, and is the starting point for many mountain treks. Modernized for visitors, it still has many of its orchards, making it truly picturesque.
  • Mergouza – Though a two-day trip from Marrakech, this is part of a longer Atlas Mountains day trip that ends at the Sahara! You will enjoy amazing scenery making this journey and can return to Marrakech via the faster motorway from Agadir if desired.
  • Ouarzazate – In the High Atlas Mountains, it is so lovely and picturesque that it has appeared in more than a dozen films since the 1960s. It features flawlessly preserved kasbahs and is actually a very popular place for Moroccans on an Atlas Mountains day trip.
  • Ourigane – Set in the Toubkal National Park and in the High Atlas Mountains, this town is only 90 minutes from Marrakech. It is a lovely Berber village with stunning views, many kinds of wildlife, and different options for treks into the surrounding mountains. Visit in the spring, during an Atlas Mountains day trip, to take in the stunning sight of the many almond trees in full bloom.
  • Tinmal – Less than 100km from Marrakesh, it is in the High Atlas and was once the capital of the Almohad Empire, which is part of Berber history. A mosque from the 1100s remains, and the locale is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Taroudant – East of the southern city of Agadir, it is similar in appearance to Marrakech and was once a fortified city along the caravan routes. It remains inside of its walls, and is a perfect option for an Atlas Mountains day trip.

Additionally, you might stay very close to Marrakech and enjoy trips to places such as the Ourika Valley where you can enjoy amazing views of the mountains from the Ourika River area. There is a lovely waterfall at Setti Fatma in this area too. If you want to discover one of the finest waterfalls in the country, you can also depart from Marrakech and visit the Cascade D’Ouzoud during an Atlas Mountains trip. It is close to Tanaghmeilt in the High Atlas. These are but a few of the locations you might choose as a destination for your Atlas Mountains day trip. Some of them are truly picturesque, and some of them can help you begin a more active trek into the mountains. There are guided hiking tours, and also many easily traversed paths near some of the villages.

The key is to consider hiring a guide or a driver to ensure you safely navigate the mountain roads. While safety is a major consideration , you must also remember that you are in the mountains to see them – not stare at the road as you follow its winding path!

Maps of Egypt

Physical Map of Egypt showing the state boundaries, relief, the Nile River, major lakes, deserts, and important cities.

Egypt, officially the Arab Republic of Egypt, is located in northeastern Africa with its Sinai Peninsula stretching into Western Asia . It covers an area of about 1,002,450 km 2 (approximately 387,050 mi 2 ). To the north, Egypt meets the Mediterranean Sea , while to the east, it shares a border with Israel and the Gaza Strip . Sudan lies to its south, and Libya to its west. To the northeast, Egypt has coastlines along the Red Sea .

Nile Delta Region : One of Egypt's most significant geographical features is the Nile Delta . The delta stretches from the northern part of Cairo to the Mediterranean Sea. This region is historically fertile and was the cradle of many ancient Egyptian civilizations . The Nile, often regarded as the world's longest river, fans out into a myriad of tributaries in this delta, creating a lush, green landscape in contrast to the surrounding deserts. The majority of Egypt's population resides in this region, benefiting from the rich alluvial soils that the Nile brings.

Nile Valley and Nile River : Flowing from south to north, the Nile River extends for over 1,500 kilometers within Egypt's borders. This river has long been the lifeblood of the country, providing fresh water, transportation, and fertile soils to the regions it passes through. The Nile Valley, which comprises lands immediately adjacent to the river, houses many of Egypt's cities and towns. Beyond just the practical, the Nile has historical and cultural significance, with many ancient monuments and temples found along its banks.

Western Desert : To the west of the Nile lies the Western Desert, which makes up about two-thirds of Egypt's land area and is part of the greater Sahara Desert . This region is predominantly arid, with sand dunes, oases, and rugged plateaus. The oases, such as Siwa and Bahariya, are communities that have historically developed around natural springs. While less populated than the Nile regions, the Western Desert holds mineral resources and has been significant for trade and transportation.

Eastern Desert : The Eastern Desert separates the Nile Valley from the Red Sea. This mountainous and rugged region is rich in minerals like gold and precious stones. Historically, the Eastern Desert has been a source of valuable resources for ancient Egyptian civilizations. The Red Sea Mountains run parallel to the coast, providing a stunning backdrop to the Red Sea's coastal areas.

Sinai Peninsula : Jutting out to the northeast, the Sinai Peninsula acts as a land bridge between Africa and Asia. It is characterized by its mountainous terrain, particularly in the southern regions. Mount Sinai, located here, holds religious significance for many Abrahamic faiths. The peninsula borders the Mediterranean Sea to the north and the Red Sea to the east. It also houses the Suez Canal , a human-made waterway connecting the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea and providing the shortest maritime route between Europe and the lands lying around the Indian and western Pacific oceans. Last, the 2,629 m (8,625 ft) high Mount Catherine in the Sinai Peninsula is the highest point in Egypt.

Major Bodies of Water : Aside from the Nile, Egypt's major bodies of water include the Mediterranean Sea to the north and the Red Sea to the east. Both seas are vital for trade, transportation, and tourism. The Red Sea, in particular, is known for its coral reefs and abundant marine life.
