Listen to this article

Taylor Swift 's The Eras Tour is in full swing, and just as fans had hoped, Taylor has confirmed that she will be performing surprise songs on every single night of the tour.

If you've been a fan of Taylor for a while, you'll know that she always includes a surprise song or two in her tour set lists. The tradition goes all the way back to the Speak Now World Tour, where she included the surprise covers she performed during that era.

With the tour now officially underway, the surprise songs are back, back, back again! There are 45 songs in the setlist already, which means she's got well over 200 songs (!!) to choose from for the surprise slots.

Initially, Taylor told fans that she will only play each surprise song once, unless she messes it up. But she has now confirmed that she has ended that rule, and she will play whatever she wants, however many times she wants!

So, what surprise songs has Taylor Swift already performed on The Eras Tour and what can fans expect for the rest of the dates? Here's the full list. (We'll update this article live, during each show.)

What surprise songs has Taylor Swift not played yet?

With Taylor performing two surprise songs a night, it's pretty much a given that she will perform the majority of them before she finishes the entire tour. Taylor has now confirmed that she has reset the list for the 2024 dates, which means international fans heading to the Eras Tour will likely hear some repeats, as well as those she has not yet performed.

There's still plenty of tracks that Taylor has the option to perform. Here's all the songs that she has not yet performed as surprise songs:

  • Taylor Swift : 'Mary’s Song (Oh My My My)', 'A Perfectly Good Heart'
  • Fearless (Taylor's Version): 'Change', 'Superstar', 'We Were Happy', 'That’s When', 'Don’t You', 'Bye Bye Baby'
  • Speak Now (Taylor's Version): [All songs from Speak Now (Taylor's Version) have been performed.]
  • Red (Taylor's Version) : 'Girl At Home', 'Ronan', 'Forever Winter', 'Run'
  • 1989 (Taylor's Version) : 'Sweeter Than Fiction'
  • Reputation : 'I Did Something Bad'
  • Lover : 'London Boy', 'Soon You’ll Get Better'
  • Folklore : [All songs from Folklore have now been performed.]
  • Evermore : 'Happiness', 'Closure'
  • Midnights : [All songs from Midnights have now been performed.]
  • The Tortured Poets Department : 'So Long, London', 'Florida!!!', 'Cassandra', 'Robin'

Alongside those listed album tracks, there's also several standalone and soundtrack songs that Taylor could add into the mix: 'Only The Young', 'Carolina', 'I Heart?', 'Beautiful Eyes', 'Beautiful Ghosts'... And of course, 'Macavity' and 'Christmas Tree Farm'. (You never know!)

There's also the small possibility that she could potentially perform the songs she's featured on, maybe even with special guests: 'The Joker and the Queen', 'Two Is Better Than One', 'Renegade', 'Both of Us', 'Gasoline', 'Birch', 'Highway Don’t Care' and 'The Alcott'.

What surprise songs has Taylor Swift performed on The Eras Tour?

What surprise songs will Taylor Swift perform again?

At the start of the The Eras Tour, Taylor revealed that she had two rules when it comes to playing surprise songs more than once. Rule 1: If she messed up, she's allowed to play it again. Rule 2: Midnights songs are exempt and she can play them "however many times I want..."

However, in February 2024, she confirmed that that rule is no longer in place. She will play whatever songs she wants, however many times she wants.

So, if you're going to a London show in August, or one of the final shows in Vancouver and you're hoping to hear 'You're On Your Own, Kid'? It's now a strong possibility.

Here Are the Secret Acoustic Surprise Songs in ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ on Disney+

The songs come from the shows Swift filmed in Los Angeles

taylor eras tour secret songs

“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)” has entered its streaming era, now available to watch exclusively on Disney+. The concert film, which arrived in theaters Oct. 13, 2023, includes even more content than the theatrical version, which already captured the three-plus hours of show that Swift puts on.

After its launch in theaters, the film was available as a digital rental in December on Swift’s birthday, the 13th. The digital version included performances of three extra songs: “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer” and “Long Live.”

But the Disney+ version of “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” includes an additional four secret songs. “Good Morning America” led a countdown to the film’s arrival on Disney+ by teasing three of these four songs — “Maroon,” “Death by a Thousand Cuts” and “You Are in Love (Taylor’s Version).”

The fourth secret song in the set is “I Can See You.” “Cardigan” is also included in the regular set after it was cut from the original theatrical version. The additional four secret acoustic songs can be found after the credits, titled “The Acoustic Collection.”

While Swift touches on nine out of 10 of her album eras during the concert, the debut album doesn’t get any songs in the regular set. Her acoustic performance of “Our Song” made it into the theatrical version of the film. The set order of the show goes as follows by album: “Lover,” “Fearless,” “Evermore,” “Reputation,” “Speak Now,” “Red,” “Folklore,” “1989,” the surprise acoustic set and “Midnights.”

With a brand new era on the way, Swifties are anxious to know why Swift moved up the streaming launch to a Thursday night when the film will end at midnight Eastern time, usually the time that new music gets launched on Fridays.

“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)” is now streaming on Disney+.

Every Surprise Song Taylor Swift Plays On The Eras Tour

A Swifties guide to all the surprise songs.

Taylor Swift showing off her yellow duster on the Eras Tour.

Over the course of three and a half hours, Taylor Swift takes Swifties on a journey through all her eras by way of 45 songs, elaborate sets, sparkly costumes, fun dance moves and epic vocals. However, two of the songs featured each night during the Eras Tour change, as the pop star switches up her acoustic set for every show. So, with that in mind, we've created a guide to all the surprise songs featured on the pop star's tour.

While fans who survived the Ticketmaster fiasco know they’ll be seeing Swift honor her grandmother during “marjorie,” dive into her stage and do the viral “Bejeweled” TikTok dance , what they don’t know is the surprise songs they’ll get. Swift has a discography that currently includes 243 songs, and with 43 on the permanent setlist, per Variety , that leaves 200 tracks eligible for this set. So, as she tours around the world, we'll be here to tell you what she's played, what has been repeated, and why it's important.

As The Eras Tour goes on, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on everything secret song-related, so you can relive performances of your favorite Swift songs or try to predict which surprise songs you’ll see at your show.

mirrorball – Glendale, Arizona – March 17

The first surprise song Swifties got on the Eras Tour was “mirrorball.” The song from folklore is a big fan-favorite, and many Swifties showed up to the concert dressed as the sparkly decoration. The song is a fascinating examination of Taylor Swift and her relationship with fame. Fans have also resonated with the song, and they understandably lost it when she started strumming the chords to the tune on her guitar.

Tim McGraw – Glendale, Arizona – March 17

Fittingly, the second song Swift surprised the audience with was her first single and the song that put her name on the map. She moved over to the piano to play “Tim McGraw” from her debut album, and Swifties couldn’t help but sing along to the lyrics from this OG Taylor Swift classic.

this is me trying – Glendale, Arizona – March 18

Night two brought some deeper cuts to the Eras stage, as Swift started by singing “this is my trying” from folklore . She played the melancholic song on her guitar, and many fans were in shock that the singer played two beloved songs off her folky album on nights one and two of the tour.

State of Grace – Glendale, Arizona – March 18

Following “this is me trying” Swift went on to play a personal favorite of mine from Red (Taylor’s Version) . As she took to the piano she played a stripped-down version of “State of Grace (Taylor’s Version),” and as one fan commented on TikTok , it was like a “religious experience.”

Our Song – Las Vegas, Nevada – March 24

The secret songs picked for Las Vegas started with a banger as Taylor Swift played her first smash-hit song “Our Song” on her guitar. Swifties lost their minds hearing the throwback tune, and for all of us who weren’t at the concert, we’re hoping she’ll “play it again.”

@arianna.pesci ♬ original sound - ariannapesci

Snow on the Beach – Las Vegas, Nevada – March 24

While Swift has become known for bringing out special guests to perform songs with her, that did not happen when she sang “Snow on the Beach.” The track from Midnights features Lana Del Rey, and while fans were hoping for a guest appearance, the headliner made it clear that there wouldn't be guests at this particular show:

I’m going to talk about another artist, but that artist is not here, OK? This is not a bit, I’m not going to bring somebody out, you are stuck with me. We do not have guests at this show.

So, while fans didn’t get to see Lana Del Rey live, they still got to bask in a beautiful rendition of “Snow on the Beach” in Las Vegas.

cowboy like me (ft. Marcus Mumford) – Las Vegas, Nevada – March 25

There may not have been a guest on night one of Swift’s Vegas shows, but there was on night two! Fans were elated when Marcus Mumford walked onto the stage to play “cowboy like me” off of evermore with Swift. The two played the tune on their guitars, and they seemed to have a blast together. Swift even stopped the song at one point to poke fun at her duet partner. Overall, it was a real tour highlight, and it marked a major milestone as Mumford was the first special guest of The Eras Tour.

White Horse – Las Vegas, Nevada – March 25

On top of the special guest appearance in Vegas on night two, Swift used her second song to play a fan-favorite off of Fearless (Taylor’s Version) as she connected “White Horse” to “cowboy like me” by saying “cowboys ride horses.” The envy was high for Swifties who weren’t at the show as she started playing “White Horse” on the piano, but nonetheless, it was a beautiful performance of a Taylor Swift classic.

Sad Beautiful Tragic – Arlington, Texas – March 31

Night one in Arlington, Texas featured the song "Sad Beautiful Tragic" off of Red (Taylor's Version) . This marks the second time the singer picked a song off said album to be one of her secret songs, and fans loved it, even if they were balling through the entire tune.

Ours – Arlington, Texas – March 31

This one was special, this one was "Ours," and it marked the first time Swift played a song off Speak Now during her secret set. She slowed the song down a tad for piano, and she played the hit beautifully, and while fans were trying "not to worry [their] pretty little mind," they were understandably freaking out.

Death By A Thousand Cuts – Arlington, Texas – April 1

Hang onto your valuables guys, gals and non-binary pals, because Taylor Swift shook the stadium, and TikTok, when she played "Death by a Thousand Cuts" off Lover . The fan-favorite song inspired by the movie Someone Great is so iconic, especially the bridge, that Swift played the moment twice on guitar. However, the second time she messed it up (though I think the flub was intentional), and her rule on the surprise songs is if she messes one up, she will play it again at another show. So, I guess that means we'll be getting this legendary Lover tune again.

@kelllieann ♬ original sound - kellie

Clean – Arlington, Texas – April 1

Swift dedicated "Clean" to her opener Gracie Abrams since the "adorable" singer had asked the pop star if she'd play the song off of 1989 during her surprise set. The audience lost their minds as the first notes were played, and this moment marked the first time a song from 1989 was featured in this segment of the Eras tour.

Jump Then Fall – Arlington, Texas – April 2

Night 3 in Arlington was a historic performance for Taylor Swift, as she became the first person to ever play three nights in a row at the stadium in Texas. So, to commemorate the evening, she played two songs off the (Taylor's Version) albums, including one of my favorites "Jump Then Fall" which is from Fearless (Taylor's Version) .

The Lucky One – Arlington, Texas – April 2

The Swifties in Arlington really were the lucky ones as Swift capped off her surprise songs for Texas with "The Lucky One" off of Red (Taylor's Version) . She played a slowed-down version of the song on the piano, and let's just say if I would have been there I would not "have made it out alive," and I would have very much felt like the "Lucky One."

Speak Now – Tampa, Florida – April 13

Taylor Swift was hardcore teasing the release of Speak Now (Taylor's Version) during her first night in Tampa. However, the biggest tease came when she grabbed her guitar and started her secret songs set by saying:

One of my albums has been on my mind a lot, I've been thinking about it, there's lots going on in my brain about it. So I thought I might play the title track of that album.

As many fans, took to TikTok to post the clip of Swift singing this song, viewers freaked out, because this performance alludes to the theory that the singer's next re-recording is coming sooner than later.

Treacherous – Tampa, Florida – April 13

Song No. 2 came by way of Red (Taylor's Version) as the singer introduced the song "Treacherous." Swift mused about how the tune is one of her favorite songs, and she also mentioned that she didn't think she'd played it on a piano before. Well, she sounded fabulous, and everyone absolutely loved hearing the stripped-down version of the track.

The Great War – Tampa, Florida – April 14

The second guest has entered the chat. For her surprise set, Taylor Swift brought out her Midnights 3 a.m. Edition collaborator Aaron Dessner. The member of The National came out to accompany the pop star during her performance of "The Great War," and the crowd loved it.

You're On Your Own Kid – Tampa, Florida – April 14

In a first for the Eras Tour, Swift decided to play two songs off the same album for her surprise set. She also decided to change the rules, saying that if the song is off Midnights , she can play it however many times she pleases. This version of "You're On Your Own Kid," was not only emotional and heartfelt, it also changed the rules of the acoustic set.

Mad Woman – Tampa, Florida – April 15

For the second night in a row, Swift brought out Aaron Dessner, who has collaborated with her on many albums. This time, the duo sat at the piano together and played "Mad Woman," a deep cut off folklore .

Mean – Tampa, Florida – April 15

The big, and very exciting, surprise of the night, was Swift singing "Mean," one of the massive hits off Speak Now . She commented that she wanted to play a song that everyone would be able to scream along to, and the crowd did exactly that as the popstar continued to hardcore tease the release of Speak Now (Taylor's Version).

Wonderland – Houston, Texas – April 21

Taylor Swift started off Houston's secret songs with a deep cut from 1989 . She mentioned that it was a song she hadn't played often live, and then said the song was based on a "twisted Alice in Wonderland ." Then she strummed the first notes of "Wonderland," and the crowd lost it.

You're Not Sorry – Houston, Texas – April 21

Swift added another song from Fearless (Taylor's Version) to the list of secret tunes she's played at the Eras Tour. As she took to the piano, she explained how much she's been loving the secret songs, touched on her re-recorded albums, and said she "re-fell in love" with "You're Not Sorry" while remaking Fearless .

A Place In This World – Houston, Texas – April 22

The song might be from Taylor Swift , her first album, however during her surprise set, the singer admitted that she relates to "A Place In This World," more now than she did all those years ago, saying:

I wrote it when I was 13, but I think I relate to it more now, 20 years later.
@jp_in_austin ♬ original sound - jp_in_Austin

She also explained that she very rarely plays the song live, so the crowd was really in for a special performance with this song.

Today Was A Fairytale – Houston, Texas – April 22

Following "A Place In This World," the singer ended her set with another throwback. Pulling a song off Fearless (Taylor's Version), Swift referenced one of her movies by playing "Today Was A Fairytale" off the Valentine's Day soundtrack and it was such a sweet moment.

Begin Again – Houston, Texas – April 23

On her final night in Houston, Swift started her surprise set with "Begin Again," off of Red (Taylor's Version) . While fans are excited and loud with every song she plays, the screaming in this video was particularly loud, showing the love for this deep cut.

Cold As You – Houston, Texas – April 23

Swift ended her time in Texas with a bold claim and a performance of another track off Debut. While figuring out the key to the song, the singer explained that "Cold As You" was her best song on the album, saying "no shade to the other songs."

The Other Side Of The Door – Atlanta, Georgia – April 28

Taylor Swift's Atlanta surprise songs began with her signing a deep cut from Fearless (Taylor's Version) . While playing "The Other Side of the Door" Swift got excited by how loud the crowd was singing, and noted how happy it makes her when they know the lyrics to some of her deep cuts.

Coney Island – Atlanta, Georgia – April 28

In honor of The Nationals' new album, and their song "The Alcott," which Swift is featured on, she decided to play "Coney Island" off evermore as her second surprise song of the night. While the band who is featured on Swift's track wasn't a special guest that night, it was a nice nod to her longtime collaborators.

High Infidelity – Atlanta, Georgia – April 29

Do you really want to know where Taylor Swift was on April 29? She was in Atlanta Georgia, playing her song that mentions the specific date in the fourth month of the year. "High Infidelity" was maybe the only predictable song of the surprise songs, however, it was still oh so exciting to see Swift sing the Midnights' song on the date it mentions.

Gorgeous – Atlanta, Georgia – April 29

Up to this point, Taylor Swift hadn't played a song off Reputation during the surprise set. She noted those online who are keeping track of all the tunes played, and said she realized she hadn't given some love to her most "metal" album, as she called it. So, she took to the piano and played a lovely rendition of "Gorgeous."

I Bet You Think About Me – Atlanta, Georgia – April 30

"I Bet You Think About Me" was the first Vault track Swift played as a surprise song. Even though Chris Stapleton wasn't there to accompany her, she played her heart out on the guitar, and fans loved hearing the new Red track for the first time live.

How You Get The Girl – Atlanta, Georgia – April 30

Ending her surprise songs for Atlanta, Swift played a deep cut off 1989 . She took to the piano and played a stripped-down version of "How You Get The Girl," and you could tell she was so excited about the crowd screaming the lyrics with her.

Sparks Fly – Nashville, Tennessee – May 5

Oh, Swifties, we were in for an "Enchanted" night in Nashville! Ever since Taylor Swift dropped the "Bejeweled" video , fans quickly picked up on all the Speak Now- related Easter eggs, starting the speculation that the singer's third album would be her next re-release. Well, the news officially broke at night one in Swift's hometown, as she announced the album would be coming out on July 7. Then she topped it off with a performance of "Sparks Fly."

To celebrate the news, jessica.taylor13 posted the announcement and the beginning of "Sparks Fly" on TikTok, and let's just say we were all ready to "Drop Everything Now."

Teardrops on My Guitar – Nashville, Tennessee – May 5

To top off this extra exciting surprise set, Swift decided to play one of the big hits off her debut album by choosing "Teardrops on My Guitar" as her piano tune. She noted that her career began in Nashville, and she'd write songs between going to school and doing her homework. So, in honor of this special city, she played the beloved song on the piano.

Out Of The Woods – Nashville, Tennessee – May 6

Taylor Swift threw it back to 1989 on Night 2 as she sang "Out of the Wood" on guitar. She noted the repetitive nature of the song's chorus, and that's when fans really realized the song they were getting.

Fifteen – Nashville, Tennessee – May 6

The second song of Night 2 was a tearjerker, as Taylor Swift honored her bestie Abigail by singing a classic from Fearless . It's assumed that she chose to sing this song in Nashville because her red-headed friend was in the crowd, as you can see in this cute TikTok :

Would've, Could've, Should've – Nashville, Tennessee – May 7

It rained and poured, and there was a massive weather delay, but Taylor Swift put on an extra epic show for Night 3 in Nashville because of it. This included the surprise songs, as the singer brought Aaron Dessner out, again, to sing "Would've, Could've, Should've," because the crowd had "earned it."

Mine – Nashville, Tennessee – May 7

Capping off quite the weekend in Nashville, Taylor Swift played one last song off Speak Now . In the pouring rain, the singer and the Swifties celebrated Speak Now (Taylor's Version) again as she played "Mine" on the piano.

Gold Rush – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – May 12

There's been a debate about the song "gold rush," off evermore for a while now, especially for those who care about the Philadelphia Eagles. Taylor Swift put the discourse to rest by confirming she was talking about the NFL team , and the crowd went wild as she strummed the first chord to "gold rush."

Come Back...Be Here – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – May 12

Per the request of her opener and super famous musician Phoebe Bridgers, Taylor Swift played a track off Red (Taylor's Version).  She sat down on the piano, noting that she takes requests, and then proceeded to play "Come Back...Be Here."

Forever & Always – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – May 13

" Once upon a time , I believe it was a [Saturday]" when Taylor Swift played "Forever & Always" as one of her surprise songs. Per Lena Dunham's request, the singer played the Fearless tune on the guitar, marking the first of three songs she'd play off her first re-recorded album in Philly.

This Love – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – May 13

To go with "Forever & Always," Swift decided to play "This Love" from 1989 on piano. Swifties loved the emotional rendition of the song, and it was such an interesting pair with the song off Fearless .

Hey Stephen – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – May 14

Kicking off the night three surprise songs, Swift played a tune off Fearless that she said quite a few people had requested. So, she started to hum along, and then the stadium started to scream along to the catchy song "Hey Stephen."

The Best Day – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – May 14

Ending off the surprise songs, though it wasn't much of a surprise, was "The Best Day." Since it was Mother's Day, and the Fearless track was written for her mom Andrea Swift, many knew the pop star would play this song. And she did it beautifully. Taylor Swift noted she'd have to try and get through it without crying, and went on to play an emotional and adorable tribute to her mother.

Taylor at the Eras Tour in Philadelphia.

Should've Said No – Foxborough, Massachusetts – May 19

Kicking off the Massachusetts shows at Gillette Stadium (which is a very special place for Taylor Swift) she played "Should've Said No" off her debut album. She introduced the song by noting that when she performed it on her first tour she'd thrash her head around, and really jam out to it, and that's exactly what she did on this night too.

Better Man – Foxborough, Massachusetts – May 19

The second song of the night, while on Red (Taylor's Version) as a vault track, is actually a tune that she wrote and Little Big Town sang at first. She explained that "Better Man" "narrowly, narrowly didn't make the cut," on Red (the first time) so she sent it to the country group. She noted how important it was for her to be recognized as a songwriter, and she gushed over her love for Little Big Town before performing a beautiful version of the hit country song.

Question...? – Foxborough, Massachusetts – May 20

It rained and poured through the entire 3.5-hour show on Night 2, but that didn't stop Taylor Swift. To kick off her secret songs, she started with "Question...?" off of Midnights , noting that she's "never been this happy" in "all aspects" of her life. She also paused mid-song to note the rain, saying if she messes up she gets to play a song again, so I think we'll be hearing this one again.

Invisible – Foxborough, Massachusetts – May 20

The second song during this massive rain show came off her debut. After literally wiping the water off her piano, Swift played "Invisible," in the pouring rain, and it was beautiful.

I Think He Knows – Foxborough, Massachusetts – May 21

We finally got another song from Lover ! To start out the night, Swift noted that she'd never played "I Think He Knows" live before, and the fans absolutely loved it.

Red – Foxborough, Massachusetts – May 21

While Swift almost always plays her second secret song on the piano, on this night, the piano was acting haunted, no pun intended. Taylor Swift tried to play the title song off Red (Taylor's Version) on piano, however, the keys kept playing themselves, making the singer and the crowd laugh. So, to fix the problem, she grabbed her guitar again, and she played "Red" for the crowd.

Getaway Car – East Rutherford, New Jersey – May 26

For all of us Reputation girlies who weren't at Met Life night one, it was a big L. But, for everyone in the stadium right outside New York City, they were in for a real treat as Taylor Swift played "Getaway Car" on guitar. And she didn't just play the fan-favorite track, she brought out her longtime collaborator and Bleachers' lead singer Jack Antonoff to sing the song with her. Let's just say it was epic.

@bejeweledbetty13 ♬ original sound - bejeweledbetty

Maroon – East Rutherford, New Jersey – May 26

As if the secret songs could get any better, Taylor Swift played "Maroon" off Midnights next. She noted that she'd never played the song live before, and that since it took place in New York, she figured this was the perfect place to debut the song live.

Holy Ground – East Rutherford, New Jersey – May 27

To kick off Night 2, Taylor Swift noted that she was "pretty proud" of her guitar choice. Keeping with the New York theme, she decided to play "Holy Ground" off Red , and that paired with the song she played next was perfect.

False God – East Rutherford, New Jersey – May 27

With no intro to song two, Swift went right into singing "False God" off Lover . Considering the religious words mentioned in both songs' titles, plus the nature of both tunes, this felt like a perfect pairing.

Welcome To New York – East Rutherford, New Jersey – May 28

While many fans thought this would be played as a surprise song on Night 1, Swift shocked us all by playing "Welcome To New York" to close out her shows right outside of New York City.

Clean – East Rutherford, New Jersey – May 28

The final song of the East Rutherford shows was a historic one because it was the first time she repeated a surprise song. Swift played "Clean" for the second time on tour, noting that she thought she could have played it in a higher key last time, so it counted as a mess up.

This also marked the second time she'd played two songs off the same album for this set, with the only other time being in Tampa, when she did two tunes off Midnights . Overall, it was a big moment for the Eras Tour, and also kind of supplemented the theory fans have about the "Karma" video, and 1989 (Taylor's Version) being next.

I Wish You Would – Chicago, Illinois – June 2

Homegirl is running through her 1989 songs. For the third surprise song in a row, Taylor Swift played a tune off her fifth album by acoustically performing "I Wish You Would." One of the most adorable parts of this performance came when the pop star adorably commented about the crowd knowing the lyrics to the fun song.

The Lakes – Chicago, Illinois – June 2

Swift explained that she played "the lakes" off folklore in Chicago because they're right next to The Great Lakes. While that totally tracks and is likely the only reason, I personally hope she somehow found out that the folklore song was a final Jeopardy question earlier this week, and that played a small role in her choice for Night 1. But, no matter what it was a lovely performance.

You All Over Me – Chicago, Illinois – June 3

Pulling a track from The Vault of Fearless (Taylor's Version), Taylor Swift did a very exciting thing and brought out Maren Morris to sing "You All Over Me" with her. Swift has only brought out a few guests during her shows, so seeing the country singer on the big stage was very exciting.

I Don't Wanna Live Forever – Chicago, Illinois – June 3

Night 2 was all about the collaborations! While Zayn wasn't a special guest, Taylor Swift gave a heart-wrenching performance of their song "I Don't Wanna Live Forever." This was the first time the pop star performed a song that isn't on one of her albums because it was featured on the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack. Overall, it was a very exciting and emotional moment.

Hits Different – Chicago, Illinois – June 4

After making some comments about how committed the Swifties are during her shows, Taylor Swift jumped right into a song that's "pretty new." The song "Hits Different" was a bonus track on Midnights for the physical version of the album, but now with the release of (The Til Dawn Edition) the tune is available to everyone. So, folks were extra excited to hear the singer's newest song for the first time live in Chicago.

The Moment I Knew – Chicago, Illinois – June 4

Then, with no intro, Swift walked over to her piano to play "The Moment I Knew" off Red (Taylor's Version). Overall, Chicago got lots of fun songs and some really deep cuts, making for a stellar surprise song set.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour

Haunted – Detroit, Michigan – June 9

I think there were a lot of Swifties who were left "Haunted" over the fact that Taylor Swift played "Haunted" as her surprise song to open Detroit and they weren't there. Before she started playing the fan fave, the singer noted that Speak Now (Taylor's Version) comes out next month and then dove right into this epic tune.

I Almost Do – Detroit, Michigan – June 9

Keeping the re-record theme alive, Swift then played a track off Red (Taylor's Version) . After adjusting her mic, and with no intro, she jumped right into a pretty piano rendition of "I Almost Do."

All You Had To Do Was Stay – Detroit, Michigan – June 10

By reenacting the high-pitched "Stay!" sung in "All You Had To Do Was Stay," Taylor Swift introduced the 1989 track in a fun way before playing it on her guitar. This means that over the course of two weeks, the singer has performed five songs off her fifth album, contributing to my growing theory that 1989 (Taylor's Version) might be released soon.

Breathe – Detroit, Michigan – June 10

The other trend of the last few weeks has been Swift's tendency to play her really sad songs. Adding to this, after playing "All You Had To Do Was Stay," she walked over to her piano and started to play "Breathe" off of Fearless (Taylor's Version).

Mr. Perfectly Fine – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – June 16

Starting Pittsburgh off with a bang, and keeping the streak of break-up songs alive, Taylor Swift played "Mr. Perfectly Fine" to open up the surprise songs. Noting that she didn't remember why the song didn't make Fearless the first time, she spoke about her vault tracks a bit before jumping right into this bubbly break-up tune.

The Last Time – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – June 16

Keeping with the break up theme, Swift's second song of the night came off of Red (Taylor's Version). With no introduction, she jumped right into playing "The Last Time" on piano.

Seven – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – June 17

For the fourth time on this tour, Taylor Swift brought Aaron Dessner on stage to perform a surprise song with her. Appropriately, since it was June 17 and she was in Pennsylvania, the pair sat at the piano and played "seven" off folklore.

The Story Of Us – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – June 17

Following "seven," Swift grabbed her guitar and started strumming a true banger: "The Story of Us." Like me, this was a surprise song of dreams for many, and the Swifties were so excited to hear the Speak Now song live, especially since Taylor's Version comes out on July 7.

Paper Rings – Minneapolis, Minnesota – June 23

Our streak of heartbreak ended in Minneapolis, as Taylor Swift opened her weekend of surprise songs with "Paper Rings" off of Lover . Following the announcement that "Cruel Summer" would be her next single, this bubbly song felt like the perfect pick for this show.

If This Was A Movie – Minneapolis, Minnesota – June 23

Following that, and with no introduction, Swift jumped right into "If This Was A Movie," which was originally on Speak Now but now lives on Fearless (Taylor's Version). Without a word, she simply played this tune on the piano, and the crowd loved it.

Dear John – Minneapolis, Minnesota – June 24

Before jumping into a fan favorite, Taylor Swift took a moment to sort of defend John Mayer as she asked fans to not bully her exes online. As she got ready to perform "Dear John," she made a point to say:

I’m 33 years old. I don’t care about anything that happened to me when I was 19 except the songs I wrote and the memories we made together. So what I’m trying to tell you is that I’m not putting this album out so that you can go and feel the need to defend me on the internet against someone you think I might have written a song about.

So, Swifties, when Speak Now (Taylor's Version) comes out, Taylor Swift has made it clear she wants no online bullying.

Following this PSA she then jumped into a gorgeous version of "Dear John:"

Daylight – Minneapolis, Minnesota – June 24

Taylor Swift started and ended her time in Minneapolis with a tune from Lover . After playing "Dear John," she walked right over to her piano and played "Daylight."

I'm Only Me When I'm With You – Cincinnati, Ohio – June 30

Taylor Swift started out with the throwback of all throwbacks by playing a song she wrote when she was 13. Noting that this was from her "middle school era," the singer went on to play "I'm Only Me When I'm With You," and the audience happily jumped along with her.

Evermore – Cincinnati, Ohio – June 30

Jumping to one of her more recent eras, Taylor Swift went on to play "evermore" on the piano. This gorgeous rendition of the title track of the singer's ninth album means she's officially played all her songs that albums are named after live.

Ivy – Cincinnati, Ohio – July 1

Cincinnati Night 2 was a truly special evening when it came to surprise songs. It started with Swift and Aaron Dessner (who has now appeared at five shows) playing "ivy" off of evermore .

I Miss You, I'm Sorry – Cincinnati, Ohio – July 1

The second song is what made this a truly historic night on the Eras Tour.

Since there was a weather issue, Swift started her show an hour early, and Gracie Abrams wasn't able to do her normal opening set. So, in a truly unprecedented event, Taylor Swift brought her opener out on stage to play Abrams' song "I Miss You, I'm Sorry," marking the first time Swift played a song that wasn't her's on tour.

Call It What You Want – Cincinnati, Ohio – July 1

To finish off a truly special night of surprise songs, Swift ended with a song off Reputation . With no intro, she played "Call It What You Want," marking the third time she's played a song off this album during her acoustic set.

Never Grow Up – Kansas City, Missouri – July 7

Following Taylor Swift releasing Speak Now (Taylor's Version) , adding "Long Live" to her set list, and premiering the "I Can See You" music video, which featured Taylor Lautner and Joey King , she kept the Speak Now hype alive by playing "Never Grow Up."

When Emma Falls In Love – Kansas City, Missouri – July 7

Keeping the Speak Now enthusiasm going, Swift went on to play one of the brand-new songs from the vault. Noting that it's inspired by one of her best friends, she jumped right into "When Emma Falls In Love," which people think is about Emma Stone .

Last Kiss – Kansas City, Missouri – July 8

After Speak Now's epic release show, Swift followed it up by playing a fan-favorite off the album for Night 2, "Last Kiss." Good news is, she kind of messed up while playing  it, so that means we'll get to hear it again.

Dorethea – Kansas City, Missouri – July 8

Following "Last Kiss," Swift ended her shows in Kansas City by playing "dorethea," which is a very sweet song off evermore.

Picture To Burn – Denver, Colorado – July 14

So, I was at this show specifically, and the crowd and I lost our collective minds when Taylor Swift decided to play the certified banger "Picture to Burn." She noted that she has been loving exploring all her eras, and it felt really special that we got a song from her debut album.

Timeless – Denver, Colorado – July 14

After playing one of her oldest songs in her discography, Swift went on to perform one of her newest by playing "Timeless" from Speak Now's vault next.

Starlight – Denver, Colorado – July 15

Opening up Night 2 in Colorado, Swift played one of the sweetest songs off of Red by performing "Starlight" on guitar.

Back To December – Denver, Colorado – July 15

Then, the moment many of us have been waiting for, Taylor Swift finally played "Back to December" as a surprise song. Understandably, the crowd lost it when they figured out she was playing this fan-favorite.

Seattle was kicked off with a song from Reputation ! Swift mentioned that she'd never played this song acoustically before, and boy was it a treat to hear "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" on the guitar. It was such a fun performance, and the crowd loved it!

Everything Has Changed – Seattle, Washington – July 22

Even though Ed Sheeran wasn't there, Taylor Swift's rendition of "Everything Has Changed" was still magical. Hearing her play the tune stripped down on piano was beautiful, and it kicked off the duo of Red (Taylor's Version) tracks that Seattle got.

Message In A Bottle – Seattle, Washington – July 23

Keeping the Red love alive, Taylor Swift kicked off Night 2 with "Message In A Bottle." What was extra exciting about this performance was it was the first time she played the song live since recording it for the album's vault.

Right Where You Left Me – Santa Clara, California – July 28

Calling it one of the "wordiest" songs she's ever written, Taylor Swift embarked on a journey to play a fan-favorite deep cut from evermore , " right where you left me ." After bringing Aaron Dessner on stage to accompany her, she noted that she'd been rehearsing the track for "weeks," and she hadn't been able to do it right once. However, she sounded amazing as she played it on stage:

Castles Crumbling – Santa Clara, California – July 28

The audience was in for a real surprise with the second song, as she played " Castles Crumbling ," from the Speak Now (Taylor's Version) vault . This was shocking because she played it solo even though Hayley Williams is featured on it, and Paramore has been and will be one of Swift's openers later on tour. I'd bet when Paramore is opening for Swift in Europe, this song will be making a comeback.

Stay Stay Stay – Santa Clara, California – July 29

Taylor Swift played one of her most adorable songs to open the set during night two as she played "Stay Stay Stay" off of Red (Taylor's Version) .

All Of The Girls You Loved Before – Santa Clara, California – July 29

Song two of night two was also a shock as Swift played a Lover song that was released right at the beginning of the Eras Tour. She took to her piano and played a moving version of " All Of The Girls You Loved Before ."

Dress – Los Angeles, California – August 7

Night Four in Los Angeles was special because Swift played " Dress " off Reputation . She also noted that she "missed" playing it live, and I think we all did too.

Exile – Los Angeles, California – August 7

While it was a bummer that Bon Iver didn't show up as a special guest to perform " exile " with Swift, the performance was beautiful, and the audience made it super special. As you can see in the TikTok below, they didn't just sing along, they also supported the pop star by signing the duet part during the bridge:

I Know Places – Los Angeles, California – August 8

For her second mashup of the night, Swift put Fearless's "Fifteen" with Midnights' "You're On Your Own Kid."

Glitch X Everything Has Changed – Lyon, France – June 3

Night 2 in Lyon saw the mashup of Midnights' "Glitch" with Red's track "Everything Has Changed."

Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus – Lyon, France – June 3

At this point, getting a song by itself is a rare occurrence, but they got one in Lyon when Swift played this number from the second half of TTPD .

Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve X I Know Places – Edinburgh, UK – June 7

We got a little bit of Midnights and a bit of 1989 with this mashup of "Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve" and "I Know Places."

Tis The Damn Season X Daylight – Edinburgh, UK – June 7

Back in the old days of the Eras Tour, evermore's "tis the damn season" was a set list song. However, it was taken out when TTPD was added. Now, it's been performed as a surprise song with Lover's "Daylight."

The Bolter X Getaway Car – Edinburgh, UK – June 8

Mashing up TTPD's "The Bolter" with Reputation's "Getaway Car" was done specifically for me, I think. What a great combo!

All Of The Girls You Loved Before X Crazier – Edinburgh, UK – June 8

However, things got really wild when Swift mashed up Lover's "All of the Girls You Loved Before" with "Crazier" from Hannah Montana: The Movie !

Haunted X Exile – Edinburgh, UK – June 9

Speak Now's "Haunted" paired with folklore's "exile" is lowkey a spooky mashup.

It's Nice to Have A Friend X Dorethea – Edinburgh, UK – June 9

Closing out the shows in Edinburgh, we got a mashup of Lover's "It's Nice To Have A Friend" and evermore's "Dorethea.

I Can See You X Mine – Liverpool, UK – June 13

Playing "I Can See You" with "Mine" was fitting for Liverpool, because Swift filmed the "I Can See You Music" video in said city ahead of the Speak Now (Taylor's Version) release.

Cornelia Street X Maroon – Liverpool, UK – June 13

Brutal, yet incredible, are the words I'd use to describe the mashup of Lover's "Cornelia Street" and Midnight's "Maroon."

This Is What You Came For X Gold Rush – Liverpool, UK – June 14

Swift's always got surprises up her sleeve as she proved when she played the Calvin Harris song she wrote, "This Is What You Came For," with the evermore song "Gold Rush."

The Great War X You're Losing Me – Liverpool, UK – June 14

She struck again with Midnights as she stunned the audience with a mashup of "The Great War" and "You're Losing Me."

Carolina X No Body, No Crime – Liverpool, UK – June 15

Things got mysterious when Swift played her song from the film Where the Crawdads Sing -- "Carolina" -- with her murder mystery song on evermore , "no body, no crime."

The Manuscript X Red – Liverpool, UK – June 15

TTPD's "The Manuscript" mashed with the title track off "Red" was unexpected and lovely.

A screenshot of Taylor Swift singing at the piano during the Eras Tour.

I Forgot That You Existed X This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things – Cardiff, UK – June 18

Swifties thought this mashup was a diss at Scooter Braun , because she performed the tracks off Lover and Reputation , respectively, on his birthday.

I Hate It Here X The Lakes – Cardiff, UK – June 18

This mashup featured somber tunes from The Tortured Poets Department and Folklore.

Hits Different X Death By A Thousand Cuts – London, UK – June 21

Taylor Swift said she made this mashup because of these two songs', which are off Midnights and Lover, respectively, epic bridges.

The Black Dog X Come Back, Be Here X Maroon – London, UK – June 21

That was followed by a three-song mashup of "The Black Dog" off TTPD , "Come Back, Be Here" from Red and "Maroon" from Midnights .

thanK you aIMee X Mean – London, UK – June 22

This was a mashup all about calling out the haters, as Swift put this TTPD song with a signature track off Speak Now .

Castles Crumbling – London, UK – June 22

Bringing Paramore's Hayley Williams out on stage, Swift performed their song off Speak Now , "Castles Crumbling," with her.

Us – London, UK – June 23

Taylor Swift was featured on Gracie Abrams' song "Us," and following its release, she brought her former opener on stage to perform it.

Out of the Woods X Is It Over Now X Clean – London, UK – June 23

We love a 1989 megamashup.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour surprise songs: Here's every song she played on US tour

taylor eras tour secret songs

When Taylor Swift opened her Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona (aka Swift City), she told the crowd that the two-song acoustic set she performs near the end of the marathon concert would be different each night.

On opening night in Arizona, her secret songs were "Mirrorball," one of eight songs she performed from "Folklore," and "Tim McGraw," the only song she played from her debut album.

All told, that first concert was a breathtaking reminder that her popularity is based as much on the connection she’s built with her fans as it is on her unerring knack for coming through with records people want to hear .

And Swift made good on her promise at every single concert on the U.S. leg, subbing in "This Is Me Trying" from "Folklore" and "State of Grace" from "Red" in the wild-card spot at her second sold-out date at State Farm Stadium,  where a couple got married in the front row .

As on opening night, the first of those surprise songs featured Swift on acoustic guitar while the second was done while seated at a piano.

On her first night in Arlington, Texas, she slipped "The 1" into the "Folklore" section of the concert, where she had been performing "Invisible String." As she told the fans at AT&T Stadium that night, if people think they can sit there and just scroll the setlist, they're wrong because she's changing it a little bit throughout the tour.

On July 1 in Cincinnati, she played a third surprise song for the first time ever with two guest vocalists (Aaron Dessner on "Ivy" and Gracie Abrams on "I Miss You, I'm Sorry."

Here's a look back at every single surprise song she played along the way.

Taylor Swift is giving her fans a special treat by performing surprise songs on every stop of her 2023 Eras Tour .

The Grammy winner revealed her master plan on opening night at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., on March 17.

“The plan, the goal, would be to play different songs every single night and never repeat one,” she told concertgoers at the time.

“So that when you heard one on this tour, you would know it’s the only time that I was going to play it in the acoustic set, unless — caveat — unless I mess it up so badly that I have to do it over again in some other city.”

However, the following month, during a stop in Tampa, Fla., Swift shared with her fans that she decided to shift gears and repeat a few songs.

“Now I’m like, ‘There are so many songs I want to do more than once,'” she admitted.

“So, I’m making a little caveat to the rule, which is that if [a song] is on ‘Midnights,’ I can do it however many times I want, because ‘Midnights’ is the most accurate picture of my life to date.”

An 'Eras Tour' Surprise! Breaking Down All of Taylor Swift's 'Secret' Onstage Songs So Far

Some surprises are in store! Taylor Swift kicked off her highly anticipated  Eras Tour   in Arizona on March 17, 2023, and she debuted a 44-song set list . However, some of the tracks are set to change every night the songstress takes the stage.

“Taylor Swift will perform a special SECRET song unique to every show at the  Eras Tour that she will not re-perform again!” a fan account revealed on Twitter following the opening show. “The special song for opening night is ‘Mirrorball” from  Folklore !”

Thankfully, the fans are here to share what the “secret” tune will be every night. Now, Swifties are speculating which song will be performed in which city.

Of course, Taylor’s fans aren’t the only ones invested in what she’s singing on stage. Even her famous friends want to know! Kelsea Ballerini , for one, stopped her own live show in Michigan to question fans about what was going on at Taylor’s concert.

“I just have one question. I’m gonna stalk it after this but I just have one question,” the “Legends” songstress asked the crowd “Has she … is “Cruel Summer” on the setlist? It is? Wow, that’s my Super Bowl, I gotta be honest. Alright. Wow. That’s all I needed to know. Thank you for that.”

While taking the stage on the first night of the  Eras Tour , Taylor also apparently joked about the now-infamous Ticketmaster debacle that fans went through when buying tickets to the show.

“I’m gonna take a wild guess and say if you’re here tonight, there’s a pretty good chance that you went through a considerable amount of effort to be with us tonight,” she joked, per a fans’ TikTok video from the concert.

Taylor also made it clear that she’s  always  trolling TikTok for fan content, so watch what you’re posting!

“I’ve just gotta pick a few things that seem relevant to the topic at hand. We’re currently in the middle of the Evermore album right now, which is an album I absolutely love, despite what some of you say on TikTok,” she joked  in a separate  fan clip. “Oh, I’ve seen it. I’ve seen all of it.”

Breaking Down All of Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Surprise Song Mash-Ups and What They Could Mean

Breaking Down All of Taylor Swifts Eras Tour Surprise Song Mash Ups and What They Could Mean

Some Swifties have been luckier than others when it comes to the surprise songs set of Taylor Swift ’s The Eras Tour .

Since launching her record-breaking tour in March 2023, Swift has used the penultimate section of her show to perform songs across her entire discography that aren’t included in the concert’s expansive setlist. On occasion, however, Swift has used the portion of the show to debut special mash-ups of her most famous tracks.

Swift began the trend during a November 2023 show in Buenos Aires, combining “Is It Over Now?” and “Out of the Woods” from 1989 (Taylor’s Version) . That same month, Swift revealed that she would be breaking her own surprise songs rule of only performing a track once for more of her international Eras Tour dates.

“I decided that in 2024, when we go back on tour, I’m just gonna open back up all the songs for surprise songs,” she told fans during a show in São Paulo, Brazil, noting that her entire discography was “fair game.”

‘Is It Over Now?’ and ‘Out of the Woods’

One month after 1989 (TV) ’s October 2023 release, Swift surprised Argentina fans with a mash-up of songs from the album. Swifties immediately made a connection between the two tracks as both are rumored to be about the pop star’s ex Harry Styles .

The vault track “Is it Over Now?” features the lyrics, “When you lost control / red blood, white snow.” The exes, who were romantically linked from late 2012 to early 2013, famously got into a snowmobile accident in 2012, after which Styles was photographed with a bandage on his chin.

In the song, Swift also sings about sitting in a “blue dress on a boat,” a nod to being photographed in a blue dress while on a boat not long after her and Styles’ split.

“Out of the Woods,” is also speculated to be about Styles and Swift’s snowmobile incident, featuring lyrics such as, “Remember when you hit the brakes too soon? / Twenty stitches in the hospital room.” The song’s lyrics also make reference to the paper airplane necklaces they were each seen wearing during their brief romance.

‘Getaway Car’ / ‘August’ / ‘The Other Side of the Door’

After beginning to play Reputation ’s “Getaway Car” on guitar during a February 2024 concert in Melbourne, Australia, Swift surprised fans by transitioning the tune into “August” from Folklore , which is included in the tour’s main setlist. She rounded out the acoustic performance by adding “The Other Side of the Door” from Fearless (Taylor’s Version) .

“I want to play one that you really want to hear, I want you to be happy,” she told the crowd, per social media footage from the show.

Fans once again were quick to notice a connection between the songs as all three discuss infidelity. The lyrics to “Getaway Car” compare being stuck in a romantic situation with three people to being a “sideshow,” while “The Other Side of the Door” asks the question if the other woman in a relationship was “worth the mess” it caused.

“August,” meanwhile, is one of three Folklore songs that tells the story of a love triangle, including “Cardigan” and “Betty.” The track follows the story from the perspective of a girl named August, with whom a boy named James cheated on his girlfriend Betty.

‘come back … be here’ and ‘daylight’.

For her third Eras Tour concert in Melbourne , Swift grabbed her guitar to sing a mash-up of “Come Back … Be Here” from Red (Taylor’s Version) and “Daylight” from Lover . While “Come Back … Be Here” tells the story of a person hoping to rekindle a broken romance, “Daylight” sees Swift discuss leaving behind the mess of past relationships after seemingly finding her perfect partner.

“And I can still see it all (in my mind) / All of you, all of my (intertwined) / I once believed love would be (black and White) / But it’s golden (golden),” Swift sings in “Daylight.”

It was during her third Melbourne show that Swift revealed she might repeat surprise songs throughout the remainder of the tour. “I want to be as creative as possible with the acoustic set moving forward, and I don’t want to limit anything or say, ‘Oh, if I played this song, I can’t play it again,’” she told fans, per social media footage . “So, from now on, I don’t want to take any paint colors out of the paintbox [or] tools out of the toolbox.”

‘White Horse’ and ‘Coney Island’

Swift continued her leg of Australia Eras Tour shows in Sydney. During her first night in the city, Swift brought out her opening act, Sabrina Carpenter , to sing a mash-up of “White Horse” from Fearless (TV) and “Coney Island” from Evermore after Carpenter’s performance was canceled due to poor weather.

The lyrics to both songs follow the endings of relationships after the people involved realize their romantic connection was not how they thought it would be or not how it once was.

‘should’ve said no’ and ‘you’re not sorry’ / ‘peace’ and ‘new year’s day’.

Swift performed her first set of double secret song mash-ups during her second Sydney Eras Tour show in February 2024. She began by combining “Should’ve Said No” from her self-titled debut album, Taylor Swift , and “You’re Not Sorry” from Fearless (TV) on the guitar. Both of the breakup tracks discuss relationships in which one partner was not faithful.

Swift followed up the mash-up by performing Folklore ’s “Peace” with Reputation ’s “New Year’s Day,” both of which see the singer analyze her romances. While “Peace” sees Swift question whether her fame is keeping her from maintaining “peace” in a relationship, Swift asks her partner to “please don’t ever become a stranger whose laugh I could recognize anywhere” in “New Year’s Day.”

‘Is It Over Now?’ and ‘I Wish You Would’ / ‘Haunted’ and ‘Exile’

Swift performed another mash-up of 1989 (TV) tunes , “Is It Over Now?” and “I Wish You Would,” as her guitar surprise song during Sydney Night 3 . The concert marked the second time Swift used “Is It Over Now?” in a mash-up with another track rumored to be about Styles, having previously done so in Buenos Aires in November 2023.

After performing the upbeat songs on her guitar, Swift headed over the piano to sing a mash-up of “Haunted” from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and “Exile” from Folklore . On theme with many of Swift’s surprise song mash-ups, both breakup tracks tell the story of realizing a relationship was not what it seemed on the surface.

‘Forever & Always’ and ‘Maroon’ / ‘Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve’ and ‘Ivy’

For her final night in Sydney, Swift hit fans with two more secret song mash-ups featuring some of her biggest tracks. On piano, Swift performed Fearless (TV) ’s “Forever & Always” with Midnight ’s “Maroon.” For the guitar secret song, she combined Midnight ’s “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve” with Evermore ’s “Ivy.”

The performances seemingly dispelled the theory that Swift performs her most emotional tracks while wearing her yellow surprise songs dress . Swift instead sported the green version of the dress, which she has also worn in maroon and blue, for Sydney Night 4.

Swift’s official fan account, Taylor Nation, seemingly confirmed there’s no correlation between her surprise songs dress color and the tracks she performs. “#SydneyTSTheErasTour, the past four nights with you have kept us on the edge of our seats! Thanks for bringing *the chant* back and crying with us during the mashups!” they tweeted after the show, adding, “We fear all the dresses now … 🫣.”

‘Mine’ and ‘Starlight’

Swift performed a mash-up of “Mine” and “Starlight,” from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version) , respectively, during her March 2, 2024, concert in Singapore.

“This has become my favorite part of the show because it’s become very chaotic and it’s become a challenge for me to think of new things to do for every single city,” she said in her introduction . “And hope that I’m doing something that you guys might like. It’s been a blast!”

‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’ and ‘Dress’

Swift’s second acoustic number on March 2 mashed up “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” her 50 Shades Darker duet with Zayn Malik , and “Dress” from Reputation .

Swift’s official Instagram went live to share the performance with her followers, many of whom think it is a clue for the arrival of Reputation (Taylor’s Version) . Certain Swifties even pointed out that “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” came out in December, the 12th month of the year, and “Dress” is the 12th song on Reputation ’s OG tracklist.

‘Long Story Short’ and ‘The Story of Us’

Swift kicked off her March 3, 2024, acoustic set in Singapore with Evermore ’s “Long Story Short” on guitar. Her number evolved into a mash-up with “The Story of Us” from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).

‘Clean’ and ‘Evermore’

Swift’s second surprise song on March 3 combined the 1989 (Taylor’s Version) track “Clean” with Evermore from her 2020 album of the same name. The piano mash-up occurred moments after Swift announced the “final edition” of The Tortured Poets Department , which is called “The Black Dog.”

“[These are] two songs about healing from a sky that ‘turned black like a perfect storm’ and a ‘gray November,’” one X user pointed out about the song choices, quoting the respective lyrics. “This album is about heartbreak, but also about healing.”

‘Death By A Thousand Cuts’ and ‘Babe’ / ‘Fifteen’ and ‘You’re On Your Own, Kid’

For her fourth show in Singapore on March 7, Swift performed two emotional mash-ups spanning four albums during the surprise song set. On guitar, Swift combined Lover ’s “Death by a Thousand Cuts” with Red ’s “Babe,” two fan-favorite breakup songs. While “Babe” — which Swift originally wrote for Sugarland before releasing it as a vault track on Red (TV) — reflects on a lover’s infidelity and broken promises, “Death by a Thousand Cuts” recalls the slow and painful deterioration of a relationship and is based on the Netflix movie Something Great .

On piano, Swift performed a mash-up of “Fifteen” from Fearless and “You’re On Your Own, Kid” from Midnights , marking her fifth performance of the latter, which is now her most-played surprise song of the Eras Tour so far. When Swift began singing “Fifteen” in a different key than usual, fans began to speculate the emotional Midnights track would be coming next. Both songs’ lyrics show Swift reflecting on the innocence of youth, although she wrote “Fifteen” when she was 18, and penned “You’re On Your Own, Kid” more recently as part of her 2022 album.

‘Sparks Fly’ and ‘Gold Rush’ / ‘False God’ and ‘Slut!’

Swift went for more mash-ups during her Singapore Eras Tour show on March 8. On the guitar, she opted for “Sparks Fly” from Speak Now and “Gold Rush” from Evermore . These two songs appear to depict opposite sides of a relationship. “Sparks Fly” is about the feelings expressed during the beginning stages of a romance while “Gold Rush” is the more realistic side of a crush. Swift sings about how she is jealous of a possible suitor and cannot be with them because they are loved by everyone.

For her piano songs, Swift chose Lover ’s “False God” and “Slut!” from 1989 (Taylor’s Version) . Both of these seem to have more sexual undertones. “Slut!” references the slut-shaming Swift received in the public eye over the years, and the lyrics of “False God” lean into promiscuity.

“Tim McGraw” and “Cowboy Like Me” / “Mirrorball” and “Epiphany”

Swift once again delivered two mash-ups in Singapore. For her guitar song on March 9, she quipped that she felt “nostalgic” since it would be her “last show for a while” until May, which led into “Tim McGraw.” Halfway through, Swift began strumming the chords to Evermore ’s “Cowboy Like Me.”

Later, Swift took to the piano to mash up the two Folklore tracks of “Mirrorball” and “Epiphany.”

“The Alchemy” and “Treacherous” / “Begin Again” and “Paris”

During her fourth and final Paris concert in May, Swift performed two mash-ups. On the guitar, she sang The Tortured Poets Department ’s “The Alchemy” — which is widely believed to be about her romance with boyfriend Travis Kelce , who was in attendance — and Red ’s “Treacherous.”

For her piano song, she belted out Red ’s “Begin Again” and Midnight’s “Paris.” (Swift also performed “Paris” during the first night in the city.) “When she says I’m so in love that I might stop breathing my heart melted because she literally is so in love,” a user wrote via X , referencing the lyrics to “Paris.”

‘I Think He Knows’ and ‘Gorgeous’

For Swift’s first May 2024 concert in Sweden, she mashed up the Lover and Reputation songs for her guitar surprise song. At one point, she sang, “I think he knows that he’s gorgeous,” which several fans believed was a subtle shout-out to boyfriend Kelce.

Days before the Sweden show, Swift jetted off to Lake Como, Italy, with the NFL tight end in between concerts. (Kelce did not make it to the gig as his Kelce Jam festival in Kansas City took place on the same day.)

‘Say Don’t Go,’ ‘Welcome to New York’ and ‘Clean’

For the first time, Swift performed a trio mash-up for her second Stockholm, Sweden show. The piano rendition took place during the 89th show on her Eras Tour.

‘Message in a Bottle,’ ‘How You Get the Girl’ and ‘New Romantics’

As Swift kicked off the surprise song set of her final Sweden concert, she revealed that Max Martin was in the crowd. While the “shy” songwriter was not interested in coming up on stage for a duet, he did want to hear one of their early 2012 collaborations live. Swift did one better and came up with a “Max Martin medley” of three Red and 1989 tracks.

‘Come Back, Be Here,’ ‘The Way I Loved You’ and ‘The Other Side of the Door’ / ‘Fresh Out the Slammer’ and ‘High Infidelity’

Swift performed two mash-ups of three songs during her first concert in Lisbon in May 2024. The guitar one featured the first time on the Eras Tour that “The Way I Loved You” made the setlist.

Swift’s piano mash-up of the TTPD and Midnights songs sparked fan theories that she is confirming the viral April 29 speculation .

“Did she just confirm where she was on April 29th … was literally my first thought,” an X user wrote.

Swift mentions April 29th on “High Infidelity,” which fans have inferred is about cheating and believe occurred in 2016 when Swift attended Gigi Hadid ’s birthday party solo amid her romance with Calvin Harris . Days later, Swift went to the Met Gala. Her now-ex, Joe Alwyn , was at the fashion fundraiser that same night. Swift never addressed what allegedly happened on April 29 in any year.

‘The Tortured Poets Department’ and ‘Now That We Don’t Talk’/ ‘You’re On Your Own, Kid’ and ‘Long Live’

For Swift’s second Eras concert in Lisbon, she gave them a guitar surprise song that she had never played live before in the title track from TTPD. After playing nearly the entire song, she launched into “Now That We Don’t Talk” from 1989 (Taylor’s Version ). Her piano mash-up of “You’re On Your Own, Kid” and “Long Live” had fans in their feels.

Both “You’re On Your Own, Kid” and “Long Live” have widely been thought of as Swift’s songs dedicated to Swifties. In the Midnights track, Swift mentions friendship bracelets. The lyric inspired concertgoers to trade their own beaded baubles at Eras shows. Meanwhile, “Long Live” has been Swift’s ode to her supporters harking back to her Speak Now album. (“Long Live” had been added to the setlist when her Taylor’s Version came out in 2023 but was removed to make room for a TTPD section.)

‘Sparks Fly’ and ‘I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)’ / ‘I Look In People’s Windows’ and ‘Snow On The Beach’

During her first show in Madrid, Swift had the crowd singing along when she mashed up the choruses of “Sparks Fly” and “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)” on the guitar. For the piano portion, Swift performed a heartfelt rendition of “Snow On The Beach” and “I Look In People’s Windows.”

While in the middle of singing the chorus of “Snow On The Beach,” the crowd went wild at the thought Lana Del Rey would pop up on stage to perform the duet. However Swift shut down the fans’ dreams in the post-chorus, by saying “It’s just me guys, sorry,” before transitioning back to the TTPD track.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift

‘the prophecy’ and ‘long story short’ / ‘fifteen’ and ‘you’re on your own kid’.

For Swift’s first night in Lyon, France, she surprised concertgoers with a song she hadn’t yet played live: “The Prophecy” from TTPD . Swift performed the track on the guitar, blending it with Evermore ’s “Long Story Short.” Moving to the piano, the pop star mashed-up two songs: “Fifteen” and “You’re On Your Own, Kid.”

Fans were quick to point out that these songs may be a nod to Kelce. In “The Prophecy,” Swift sang about her hope to find love and wondered if she’ll end up alone. In “Long Story Short,” Swift makes it clear that she “survived” that doubt-filled period of being with the “wrong guy.”

Her piano number is also believed to be a tribute to Kelce. Fearless ’ “Fifteen” describes dating “the boy on the football team,” a lyric which has resurfaced since she began dating the NFL player. “You’re on Your Own, Kid,” from 2022’s Midnights , prompted fans to trade their own friendship bracelets at Swift’s Eras Tour shows — which is exactly what Kelce did to give Swift his number in summer 2023.

Taylor Swift Has Hilarious Wardrobe Malfunction at the Eras Tour in Stockholm

‘Glitch’ and ‘Everything Has Changed’

‘would’ve could’ve should’ve’ and ‘i know places’ / ‘tis the damn season’ and ‘daylight’.

Swift performed two mash-ups during her first June 2024 concert in Edinburgh. Her guitar rendition of “Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve” and “I Know Places” was briefly halted when she spotted a fan looking for help.

“She’s right there. I’m just gonna keep playing until somebody helps them, I’m gonna be singing this song,” Swift told security guards. “Just let me know. I can do this all night.”

‘The Bolter’ and ‘Getaway Car’ / ‘All the Girls You Loved Before’ and ‘Crazier’

Swift mashed up the TTPD track with Reputation ’s “Getaway Car” during her guitar surprise song during Edinburgh Night 2 in June 2024. She then migrated to the piano to perform “All the Girls You Loved Before” with a special mid-song introduction to “Crazier.”

“You get extra credit points if you know this next song at all because it is really, really old,” Swift quipped, referring to the Hannah Montana the Movie single.

The Edinburgh piano mashup was Swift’s first time playing “Crazier” on the Eras Tour , which many fans think is a clue that the rerecorded version of her album Taylor Swift will feature “Crazier” as a vault track. As Swift sang the lyrics, the audience’s LED bracelets lit up green. The emerald hue has since become a symbol of the debut record.

‘It’s Nice to Have a Friend’ and ‘Dorothea’ / ‘Haunted’ and ‘Exile’

During her June 2024 guitar surprise song set in Edinburgh, Swift performed the Lover song with Evermore ’s “Dorothea.” For the piano, Swift mashed up “Haunted” with the Folklore track.

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out that Swift had already put the breakup tracks — Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) song and “Exile” — together during her Sydney Eras Tour performance in February 2024.

‘This Is What You Came For’ and ‘Gold Rush’ / ‘The Great War’ and ‘You’re Losing Me’

Swift noted during her first Eras Tour concert in Liverpool that she wanted to surprise the crowd with her acoustic pick. Enter her decision to play “This Is What You Came For,” Calvin Harris and Rihanna ’s 2016 duet. Swift, who previously dated Harris, is credited as a songwriter for the track under the pseudonym Nils Sjöberg. At the June 2024 concert, Swift paired “This Is What You Came For” with the Evermore song “Gold Rush.”

On piano, Swift combined “The Great War” and “You’re Losing Me,” both from Midnights.

‘Guilty as Sin?’ x ‘Untouchable’ / ‘The Archer’ x ‘Question…?’

During her July 4th show, which was her first night in Amsterdam, Swift performed a new TTPD song “Guilty as Sin” on guitar combined with a deep cut from Fearless (Taylor’s Version) . “We’ll see how this one goes,” she joked before she played the mashup.

For piano, Swift delivered a Lover favorite, “The Archer,” combining it with “Question…?” from  Midnights .

‘I’m Gonna Get You Back’ x ‘Dress’ / ‘You Are in Love’ x ‘Cowboy Like Me’

During night two in Amsterdam on July 5, Swift chose a mashup of “I’m Gonna Get You Back” off TTPD — her first time playing the song live — and Reputation’s “Dress.” She followed it up on piano with 1989’s “You Are in Love” — which she said she chose because the lyrics mention bikes, one of her “favorite” parts of Amsterdam — and Evermore’s “Cowboy Like Me.”

13 Songs Not On Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Setlist She Should Add As “Secret Songs”

From “Long Live” to “Dear Reader,” these fan-favorite tracks would be perfect additions.

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - MARCH 17: Editorial use only and no commercial use at any time. No use on publi...

Taylor Swift assembled a jaw-dropping 44-song setlist for her Eras Tour , but it’s still impossible for her to include everyone’s favorite songs and please all Swifties (especially Speak Now fans). Luckily, the 12-time Grammy winner has a partial solution that may satisfy fans while making all Eras Tour dates unique. At every show, Swift will choose two tracks from her catalog that aren’t already on the setlist and perform them acoustically, one on her guitar and one at the piano.

For the “secret songs” at her first show on March 17, Swift picked folklore track “mirrorball” and a piano version of her debut single “Tim McGraw,” making it the only song from her self-titled debut album on the setlist. The following night, she played folklore cut “this is me trying” and Red track “State of Grace” on the piano. Swift said her goal is to never repeat these acoustic secret songs throughout the tour — but she reserves the right to play any song again if “I mess it up so badly that I have to do it over again in some other city,” as she told the opening night audience.

Since Swift will have tough decisions to make every night on the Eras Tour, we’re generously helping her out by providing a list of 13 songs across most of her eras that she should absolutely perform at some point during the tour (specifically at my shows on April 1 and May 26). From long-forgotten Speak Now cuts to new songs from the “3 a.m. edition” of Midnights , Swift would get closer to making all Swifties even happier by performing these tracks even just once.

“Cornelia Street”

Before Lover Fest had to be canceled, Swift performed “Cornelia Street” acoustically at her special City of Lover concert in Paris in September, and it was glorious . Swifties still talk about her soaring vocals in this rendition that’s never been repeated, and the Eras Tour is the perfect place to do so.

As one of the deepest and most revealing songs on folklore , an album full of fictional storytelling, it’s understandable that Swift left “Peace” off the setlist. But it still deserves its moment in the spotlight, and there’s no better place than on the catwalk with just Swift and her guitar.

“Dear John”

Swift only includes one Speak Now song on the regular setlist (granted, it’s the best one), so she needs to make up for that by playing other cuts as secret songs. She should start with “Dear John,” a ballad so heartbreaking that it invented her “Track 5” concept even before “All Too Well.”

“Treacherous”

“Treacherous” is a Red deep cut that tends to get overshadowed by other fan-favorites (“All Too Well”), but it’s just as pivotal to the album, representing her knowingly falling down the path of heartbreak. Thankfully, all Swift needs is her guitar to give it the justice it deserves.

“Death By a Thousand Cuts”

Just like “Cruel Summer,” this song’s bridge was tailor-made for a crowd to scream loudly at the Eras Tour. But since Swift didn’t include it in the Lover act, an acoustic rendition will have to do.

“happiness”

Swift performing this underrated evermore deep cut would give Swifties great ... happiness.

Technically, this track wasn’t entirely left out of the Eras Tour. Swift is heard reciting lyrics from “seven” as a spoken word poem during the introduction of the folklore act, but it doesn’t receive the full-on live performance it deserves, which is why it’s still worthy of a secret song slot.

Imagine Swift performing the healing and cathartic “Clean” on the piano before she dives and starts “swimming” under the stage to literally cleanse herself. You can’t write this kind of synergy.

Swift didn’t even perform this Colbie Caillat duet from Fearless on the Fearless Tour, only giving it a live debut on the Reputation Stadium Tour as one of her secret songs. But the song is so calming yet anthemic that it deserves another go-around on the Eras Tour.

Swift has not performed “Innocent” once since she debuted it live at the 2010 MTV VMAs (probably because it was written in response to the first Kanye incident), meaning in the words of Lizzo, it’s about damn time.

“Dear Reader”

Swift only sings half of her newest album Midnights on the Eras Tour, so it’s understandable that she couldn’t include any of the “3 a.m. edition” tracks. But they should absolutely get their due as secret songs, starting with “Dear Reader,” the most direct warning to fans she’s ever written.

Swift ends folklore with one of her most stunning yet depressing songs, a haunting piano ballad that finds her questioning everything about her relationship but still believing in it anyways. It may be too sad to perform every night, but “hoax” deserves at least one shining moment.

“Long Live”

Quite frankly, the finale of Speak Now should’ve been the finale of the Eras Tour as well. Swift wrote “Long Live” specifically as a love song to her fans, thanking them for “fighting dragons” with her and chanting “we will be remembered,” a promise that has been long fulfilled. On a tour paying tribute to her entire career and the fans that made it possible, “Long Live” being left off just doesn’t feel right, but it’s not too late to amend this. Long live “Long Live.”

Taylor Swift's 'secret' is out as fan 'cracks code' she's going to announce something big

Taylor Swift is known for dropping ‘Easter eggs’ more frequently than the Easter Bunny. A fan now believes they have cracked the code on the Eras Tour special guest appearances.

Taylor Swift has been on her record-breaking Eras tour for more than a year now. The singer has not always graced the stage alone, with a host of special guests performing duets of her greatest music . Her loyal following of Swifties love to find hints and clues in everything Taylor does, with some grade-A detective work. One fan has now shared a video on TikTok explaining an item of Swift merch holds all the secrets to the special guest performances.

Eras Tour merch T-shirt is ‘full of Easter eggs’

A video has been released on TikTok with the creator sharing her new Eras Tour T-shirt ordered from the United States. The front features an illustration of Taylor Swift on stage, the back has a list of some of the main shows and cities she has performed in.

The fan claims the shirt is “full of Easter eggs” before delving into what she believes are the deeper meanings hidden within the graphics. On the back next to some of the tour dates are little heart illustrations. This Swiftie has started to investigate why some cities have been ‘tagged’ with a heart, and why some have not.

The fan explains, “these hearts are not accidental.” Continuing, “most of these cities with hearts have had a guest come out and sing.”

・ CUTE: Taylor Swift’s ‘face changes’ on stage as soon as she sees Travis in the audience, fans say

A history of Taylor’s previous on-stage surprises

A heart features next to Las Vegas, where Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Sons joined Taylor on stage. The two sang Cowboy Like Me together, off Swift’s 2020 release Evermore. It was during the pandemic that Mumford lent his home-studio to Swift so she could bring Evermore to fruition.

Swift surprised guests in Tampa by bringing out musician and songwriter Aaron Dessner, who has previously collaborated and co-wrote songs with Tay. Tampa features a heart on the shirt, seemingly honoring their surprise rendition of The Great War.

The heart next to Chicago reminds fans of when Maren Morris took the stage with Taylor for an acoustic guitar duet. They played You All Over Me, a fan-beloved song From the Vault that had never been played live before.

Hearted Cincinatti had the 34-year-old bring opener Gracie Abrams on stage after she missed her solo-act due to bad weather. Additionally, Dessner made his second appearance, strumming along to Ivy. Special guests in Kansas City included Taylor Lautner, Joey King and Presley Cash who all feature in her debut video Speak Now. Taylor used this stage to preview this video for the first time.

The Los Angeles show on 8/9 proved fan-theories right, as this date was used to announce the release of a re-recorded version of ‘1989’. Sydney held the ‘realization’ of the song Blank Space where Taylor asks for audience participation chanting the city’s name in between lyrics. Additionally, Sabrina Carpenter joined the singer on stage for a duet.

Finally, that brings us to the infamous set of shows in Wembley, London. Gracie Abrams once again joins Taylor on stage, but the real showstopper was her boyfriend Travis Kelce performing a short cameo with the star. This has had fans ‘clowning’ trying to decode the hidden message within the performance. Many Swifties believe this was actually a major Easter egg announcing the celebrity couple’s engagement!

Fans decode the remaining hearts with interesting theories

The TikTok user points out there are two hearts, spread over three dates left – Warsaw, Vienna and London. The video uploader says, “based on this pattern, some special things will happen” in the remaining cities. Urging other Swift detectives to let her know their predictions in the comments.

“She’s going to announce Rep TV in Warsaw, I’m 100% sure of it. Also, there’s a huge probability that Ed Sheeran is going to be a guest on N1 or N2 – he has a tour gap between Czechia and Lithuania shows.” Comments one user.

“I have always thought that she’d film the new eras tour film at London during August and release it in October during the break and at the last show announce the live recording album.” Theorizes another.

A final theory states, “I’ve a theory that Warsaw 8/2 is the release date of Reputation TV, similar to Kansas City 7/7 is the release date of SNTV. For London final night 8/20, she will announce what the orange “Glitch” is.”

What we do know is Taylor is very good at keeping her surprises under-wraps, so we will just have to wait and see what she has got up her sleeve for fans next.

Travis Kelce’s surprise bit on Taylor Swift’s stage was his idea: ‘Do not drop the baby’

Travis Kelce traded in his football cleats for a top hat last weekend to join Taylor Swift onstage during the Eras tour — and the whole thing was his idea.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end dished on his surprise appearance at Wembley Stadium on the “ New Heights ” podcast Wednesday with his brother, Jason, who was more than eager to grill his younger brother about being a backup dancer.

“It’s very unlike me. I don’t love going on stages,” Travis said cheekily, noting his tendency to become the center of attention, whether he’s on the field or at the White House .

“I initially mentioned it to Tay but was like, ‘How funny would it be if I rolled out on one of the bikes for the ‘1989’ era?’” he explained. “She started laughing and was like, ‘Would you seriously be up for doing something like that?’”

The answer: absolutely.

“I was just like, ‘What? I would love to do that, are you kidding me?’ I’ve seen the show enough,” he said, referencing his numerous appearances in the Eras VIP tent. “Might as well put me to work here.”

The power couple decided that perhaps hopping on a bike wasn’t the best option — in case Travis ran into a dancer. Instead, he joined her and dancers Kameron Saunders and Jan Ravnik for the “ Tortured Poets Department ” interlude, where the men prepare a marionette-like Taylor for her next song in silent-film style.

“It’s such a a fun, playful part of the show and it was the perfect area or perfect time for me to go up there and just be a ham, have some fun, not only with her, Kam and Jan but the crowd, and try to get everybody excited for the rest of the show,” Travis said. “It was an absolute blast.”

The surprise performance wasn’t without risk: Travis had to carry the “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” singer across the stage. Thankfully, his football skills prepared him well.

“The one thing I told myself is, ‘Do not drop the baby. Do not drop Taylor on your way over this damn couch.’ The golden rule was do not drop Taylor, get her to the couch safely,” he said. The brothers compared the move to carrying a football during a high-stakes game.

From backstage kisses to surprise NFL game appearances, here’s a timeline of all the biggest moments in Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship.

In fact, Travis said, the words of former Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy were running through his mind during his big moment: “That ball has our dreams, goals and aspirations — you do not drop that ball,” he recalled Bieniemy saying.

That wasn’t the only football connection onstage that night either.

“Me and Kam’s brother, Khalen Saunders, we played together in K.C., won two Super Bowls together,” Travis said, calling Khalen one of his “all-time favorite teammates” and marveling at the serendipity of having the chance to “rock the field with him and now rock the stage with his brother.”

Travis admitted that the cheers he receives after a touchdown in Kansas City last a little longer than the reception he received in London — but in defense of the Eras tour crowd, he said, “It took a second for everyone to figure it out.”

“They put the camera on me, Kam and Jan, the three of us coming up the stage. That moment was pretty jarring,” he said.

“You don’t realize how big that stage is,” Travis said. Jason likened it to the length of a football field.

“It is way bigger than I could have ever imagined,” Travis added. “I was like, ‘I feel tiny up here.’ It was awesome and I didn’t disappoint Taylor, which is all that matters.”

Travis said he loved being part of the spectacle.

“For them to be up for it and to help me along and look like a pro, it was awesome,” he said.

While Swift won’t be suiting up for the Chiefs anytime soon, Travis didn’t rule out the possibility of returning to his girlfriend’s stage.

“Who knows, might not be the last time!”

Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams

Gracie Abrams

Taylor swift, how did 'please please please' become sabrina carpenter's first hot 100 no. 1, trending on billboard.

1. This week, Taylor Swift notches her 10th consecutive week atop the Billboard 200 with  The Tortured Poets Department  — the longest total reign of any album since Morgan Wallen’s  One Thing at a Time  notched 19 combined weeks between 2023 and 2024, and her own longest rule since her original  1989  spent 11 weeks on top between 2014 and 2015. On a scale from 1-10, how meaningful do you think this run is for Swift and where she’s at in her career?

Rania Aniftos : I’m going to say 3, because this is the standard for Taylor at this point! She is without a doubt the biggest music star in the world at the moment, and it would shock me if any album of hers from here on out spends less than 10 weeks atop the Billboard 200.

Katie Atkinson:  Let’s give it a 10 for 10. Looking at the releases that stood in her way, I don’t think anyone would have predicted that Swift would have an uninterrupted 10-week run at No. 1 back in April. After favoring late-year releases for the bulk of her career – especially October and November – it looks like Swift should maybe make the switch to April albums from here on out, seeing just how long she’s able to dominate the spring-into-summer conversation. Taylor continues to unlock new heights in her career just when you think she’s reached the very pinnacle.

Jason Lipshutz : A 6. Obviously spending 10 straight weeks atop the Billboard 200 represents a towering commercial feat, although these types of accomplishments are all relative for the biggest artist in the world, who’s in the middle of a precedent-smashing stadium tour, fresh off a record-setting fourth album of the year Grammy win, and who started this run at No. 1 with the biggest album debut of the 2020s. Plus, Swift has already spent more weeks atop the Billboard 200 with a different pop album (albeit one with a more radio-friendly sheen). So while TTPD reaching double-digit weeks at No. 1 is another testament to Swift’s continued enormity, the achievement itself probably feels less meaningful when stacked next to all of Swift’s other, bigger ones.

Andrew Unterberger : An 8. As massive as so many of Swift’s wins have been this decade, this is a sustained chart victory like she hasn’t really seen before. And of course, it’s one she’s seemed particularly motivated to maintain , so clearly it’s one of some amount of personal significance to her.

2. Just below her on the chart this week, Swift’s Eras Tour opener Gracie Abrams bows at No. 2 with 89,000 units moved for her new album  The Secret of Us  — both easily the best numbers of her career. What do you think is the particular “secret” to Abrams’ success with this album?

Katie Atkinson:  We can’t overlook the Taylor bump, of course. Sabrina Carpenter is currently reaching her apex just after opening for Swift in Latin America, Australia and Asia. Now Gracie is having her breakout moment after putting in more than a year as an Eras Tour opener. In this case, she quite literally has a hit Taylor collaboration on her new album, so it’s not just the appearance of a Taylor bump; it’s an actuality. But none of this would be happening if Abrams weren’t a solid artist in her own right who has earned the loyalty of the Swifties through her diaristic songwriting and fondness for Taylor-connected producers (Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff).

Hannah Dailey : I think Abrams has long been on an upward trajectory, steadily accumulating listeners from the moment she debuted in 2019 with “Mean It.” But it’s also clear to me that Swift’s cosign – from inviting Abrams to be an opener on the Eras Tour to collaborating on “Us” — is the thing that gave her the extra big push she needed to make it as high as No. 2, a huge improvement from debut album  Good Riddance ’s peak of No. 52.

Andrew Unterberger : It’s easy to just give a two-word answer to this — and it’s inarguable that the added spotlight that Taylor Swift has granted Abrams both on the Eras Tour and via her appearance on this set’s “Us” has helped greatly increase her profile. But it’s important to note that Abrams was headed in this direction for years before her association with Swift really developed, building a devoted fanbase, honing her writing and strengthening her performance, securing the right collaborators and slowly but surely extending her reach. She was always likely to get here, Swift just basically ensured that it would definitely happen — and quickly.

3. After a tough few years for rising pop artists attempting to break through, we’ve seen a number of very impressive crossover success stories this year, including Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and Tommy Richman. Do you think Abrams now belongs in the category with those still-rising new star artists, or does she still have a little more yet to prove?

Rania Aniftos : I think she’ll need one more big hit to follow “Close to You” to solidify her as a pop star, but she’s so close to sitting at that table. We’ll be seeing her headlining festivals in the future for sure.

Katie Atkinson:  I think Gracie is at the moment now that Sabrina Carpenter was at last year – which is to say she has a strong following, some A-list endorsements, and a handful of buzzy songs, but she doesn’t yet have her jolt of “Espresso.” When Abrams has an undeniable signature song like that one break through not just on pop radio or with fringe pop fans but to the top five of the Billboard Hot 100 , that’s when she’ll have officially arrived.

Jason Lipshutz : Yep, she belongs in that class to me. Those aforementioned artists all have singles that have either reached the top 10 of the Hot 100 or come darn close; Abrams isn’t there quite yet, but I could see the singles from The Secret of Us , “Risk” and “Close to You,” make a push as the album receives more streams this summer. And in the same way that Carpenter turned an opening spot on the Eras tour into her own arena headlining gigs, Abrams is playing some major venues in support of The Secret of Us , with arenas not too far away, in my opinion. Abrams was already rising prior to this album release — she scored a best new artist Grammy nom, after all — but The Secret of Us is going to level her up into a new class of young stars.

Andrew Unterberger : In a different way, but basically, yes. She doesn’t have a major pop hit yet anywhere near the level of “Espresso,” “Million Dollar Baby” or even “Good Luck, Babe!” — that might come soon or it might still be an album or two away. But what she does have is arguably more valuable: a fanbase willing to shell out for physical albums, as Secret tops Billboard ‘s Top Album Sales chart this week with its 50,000 sold, also adding another 38,000 in streaming equivalent album units. When you’re both selling and streaming in strong numbers, that means not are you really big, but you’re probably gonna stay that way for some time to come.

Rania Aniftos : I do love “Close to You” because it really has something for every pop fan. It has the songwriting, it has the catchiness, it has the vocals, it has the TikTok virality. I see it becoming a longtime fan favorite hit.

Katie Atkinson:  I’m going to put my money on “Close to You,” just because I can see its uptempo production hanging around a little longer than the Taylor duet. To keep the Sabrina analogy going, maybe “Close to You” will be Gracie’s “Feather,” which was Carpenter’s first Pop Airplay No. 1 before her certified breakout with “Espresso” and then “Please Please Please.”

Hannah Dailey : “Close to You” is such a bop, and fans have been begging her to release it for about seven years now – that’s a lot of built-in hype. Plus, it’s all over TikTok. I think that song’s the front-runner.

Jason Lipshutz : I was a big fan of “Risk” upon its release, and “Us” sounds like a worthy addition to Swift and Dessner’s enchanted forest of indie-leaning folk-pop. But “Close to You” is the one, thanks to its tempo and urgency: the song stomps forward as Abrams declares “I burn for you / And you don’t even know my name,” in a way that recalls Lorde’s subtle yearning but also sounds primed to soundtrack thousands of crestfallen TikTok clips. “Close to You” is going to make noise, and I, for one, can’t wait to see Abrams blow it out on tour.

5. Make a prediction: How many total weeks will  The Tortured Poets Department  spend at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 before ceding the top spot for good?

Rania Aniftos : Let’s say 20! Why not beat Morgan Wallen?

Katie Atkinson:  Well, I wish we knew when, exactly, Zach Bryan’s next album is coming out. According to his  Instagram ,  The Great American Bar Scene  is coming out July 4th, but it’s unclear what time of day. And since Independence Day is a Thursday, if he releases it during the day, he would only have 24 hours of tracking in this chart week if it comes out early, or he could have a full week on our charts if it came out at midnight into Friday. He’s Taylor’s strongest competition, so I’m going to guess that his first full week will beat hers – meaning she would have 11 straight weeks atop the Billboard 200. But I think she’ll have *at least* one more week left in the tank after that too, with a potential  Anthology  vinyl release waiting in the wings. So my prediction is 12 weeks at No. 1 overall, surpassing the 11-week runs of the original  1989  and  Fearless .

Hannah Dailey : It would be easier to predict if another comparable star was planning to release an album soon, but the front half of the year was so loaded that the second half is kind of a question mark. With that in mind, I’ll give her an even, optimistic 20 weeks. She may be looking to beat Morgan Wallen’s 2020s record, and it definitely seems like it’s in reach for her right now.

Andrew Unterberger : My instinct is 16 or 17, but I feel like if Taylor sees herself being within arm’s reach of 20, she’s not gonna let that opportunity go by. So yeah, let’s say she takes advantage of a couple slow weeks towards the end of the calendar to get to an even 20 weeks this time — and maybe tries to match her second-favorite-number next time out.

Taylor Swift was Gracie Abrams’ childhood hero. Now they’ve written a song together and performed it onstage during The Eras Tour

Abrams went on tour with swift last summer opening for several eras tour shows.

By Sarah Gambles

Gracie Abrams is a musician on the rise with a brand-new album drop featuring the likes of superstar Taylor Swift . The singer songwriter grew up viewing Swift “as her childhood hero,” according to Billboard , and now the two artists are working alongside each other.

The two musical artists released the collaboration “Us” for Abrams’ album “The Secret of Us,” which debuted this summer.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Gracie Abrams (@gracieabrams)

Abrams increased her Instagram following by tacking on 100,000 new followers in just two days after releasing the collaboration, according to research conducted by QR Code Generator .

“Every formative memory in my life is paired with a Taylor Swift song that helped me get through,” she told Vanity Fair . “My boyfriend the other day did the thing where we shuffled her discography and played a song for one second ... I got them all.”

Before the duo dropped “Us”, Abrams was first contacted by Swift through an unknown number inviting Abrams to attend Swift’s birthday celebrations. She called a mutual producer to make sure it was real, per Vanity Fair .

Fast forward to years later, Swift and Abrams spent a late night writing the song together in Swift’s New York City apartment — a night in which they started a fire, not just because of the music. A candle fell over in the kitchen, setting the island in flames, which Swift put out with an extinguisher.

The music stars had been performing new songs from Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” and Abrams’ “The Secret of Us” for the night, and instrumentals mutual producer Aaron Dessner crafted sparked an idea for a collaboration.

“Something caught our ear at the same time very hard and fast, so we ran to the piano and started writing this song,” she told Billboard . “I used to fantasize about that kind of a thing as a kid.”

Opening The Eras Tour for Taylor Swift

Abrams opened for more than 30 shows for Swift, and the two have performed onstage twice together throughout the tour. One year ago Monday was the first time the pair performed with each other — Swift brought Abrams onstage during the surprise section of the show to perform “I Miss You, I’m Sorry” after Abrams’ opening performance was cancelled due to the weather.

The second time was this summer when Swift brought her onstage again during the surprise song section as a special guest to perform “Us” for the London crowd on Night 3.

She told Teen Vogue she only allows herself to focus on the fans closest to her during the shows in front of the massive crowds.

“Otherwise I think I would only be able to think about how I’m playing on the same stage as my favorite artist in the world, and she’s granting me that opportunity, and how did life get from being 10 years old and crying to her music in my room to being on this stage and celebrating her career in this way?”

Swift even dedicated one of her surprise songs to Abrams while on tour — singing and performing “Clean” on the piano from Swift’s “1989″ during one of the shows Abrams opened.

“I don’t think I realized the scale at which that one means something to everyone,” Abrams told Teen Vogue . “That’s the thing about Taylor’s music. When one of her songs lands in a specific place in your life, it feels like you’re the only person in the world who has that extreme of a connection to the song. I felt so grateful to hear it in that way, so stripped and raw. That song has been kind of a constant security blanket since it came out. I have so many little memories listening to that song at times when I needed it. To hear her so thoughtfully dedicate it, I was like, ‘I could die now and be totally thrilled.’”

Gracie Abrams’ ‘The Secret of Us’

Abrams’ latest project features her trademark melancholy vocals and “sad girl” lyrics accompanied with more instrumentals than featured on previous albums and EPs.

Dessner helped Abrams produce the album, and he also helped her and Swift record the song at the iconic Long Pond Studios, the same place where Swift recorded her special “folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions” for Disney+ .

“It was just really fun to watch the chemistry of Gracie and Taylor bouncing off each other, Gracie in total wonder and awe watching how Taylor records and produces her vocal performances and builds the world,” Dessner told Billboard .

A very timely easter egg if we do say so ourselves. 🤭 #FortnightBTS https://t.co/nYfAjJN3lo — Taylor Nation (@taylornation13) June 21, 2024

The same day as Abrams’ album drop, Swift released a behind-the-scenes video for the making of her “Fortnight” video with Post Malone. In the video, she reveals that she wrote “US” on a book used in one of the scenes as an easter egg —— providing her fans with a hint about her upcoming collab with Abrams.

Travis Kelce is finally opening up about his surprise appearance at Taylor Swift ‘s Eras Tour concert at Wembley Stadium. The football star shocked and delighted Swifties by joining his girlfriend on stage during the “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” transition of the London show. On the latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast, Kelce revealed that he was the mastermind behind the live cameo.

“I initially mentioned it to Tay,” Kelce said. “I was like, ‘How funny would it be if I just rolled out on one of the bikes during the 1989 era.'”

Kelce said Swift “found the perfect part of the show for me to come in” and called it an “honor” to stand beside a “true showman” like her.

“When everyone [in the crowd] found out that it was me — because it took a second for everyone to figure it out — that moment was pretty jarring,” Kelce remembered about the experience. “I was just like, ‘Oh shit.’ And you don’t realize how big that damn stage is. It is easily as big as a football stadium … it’s way bigger than I could have ever imagined.”

“It was an absolute blast,” he continued. “It was such a fun, playful part of the show, and it was like … the perfect time for me to go up there, just be a ham and have some fun — not only with [Swift] … but the crowd and really try and get everybody excited for the rest of the show. It was awesome.”

Kelce appeared during Swift’s third and final night performing at London’s Wembley Stadium. She was also joined by Gracie Abrams during the show, where the two joined forces on the first live performance of their song “Us.” Swift later took to Instagram to say she was still “cracking up” and “swooning” over Kelce’s appearance.

“I didn’t disappoint Taylor, so that’s all that really matters,” Kelce said.

Swift next takes The Eras Tour to Amsterdam, where she’s playing three shows over the July 4 holiday weekend. She’ll be back at London’s Wembley Stadium for five more shows in August.
