How does goodwillfinds work.

GoodwillFinds sources donated items from a number of Goodwill stores around the country, and makes them available to browse and purchase online. Your dollars spent at Goodwillfinds go toward community support and services that help those in need of opportunity secure work, job security, financial independence, and sense of purpose.

Where do items on the site come from?

Items are donated to participating Goodwill donation centers and listed by member organizations for sale on GoodwillFinds.com.

Can I donate my items to GoodwillFinds to get a credit on the site?

At this time, donations are not eligible for Goodwillfindscom shopping credit. If you're interested in donating items to your local Goodwill, you can visit the store for information on how to receive tax credit for your donation.

Can I sell my items on GoodwillFinds?

Only items donated to participating Goodwill stores are eligible to be sold on GoodwillFinds.com 

Where can I find/change my account details?

To manage your account, go to your Account Dashboard . Choose 'Profile Details' to change your account details.

How do I change my password?

After logging into your account, you may change your password by visiting your Account Dashboard and choosing 'Change Password'. You may then follow the prompts to complete your password update.

What do I do if I forget my password?

Visit our Login page, as if you are signing in, and click the 'Forgot Password?' link. You may then follow the prompts to reset your password.

Is my account secure?

GoodwillFinds uses commercially reasonable physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your personal information consistent with industry standards. For example, we use encryption, passwords, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information against unauthorized access and disclosure. The security of your personal information is important to us, but please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially reasonable means to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the absolute security of any information you transmit to GoodwillFinds or the Website, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission of information, GoodwillFinds makes commercially reasonable efforts to ensure the security of our systems. I was browsing an item, and now I can't find it!

The item you were looking at may have been purchased by another customer. Many of our listed items at GoodwillFinds are one-of-a-kind or are of limited quantity. 

How can I tell the condition of an item?

The condition of each listed item is displayed in the item's Product Details section. All items on GoodwillFinds are sold as is. If you wish to shop risk-free, it is strongly suggested that you purchase Worry-Free at checkout.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express as well as Apple Pay and Paypal. 

Do you offer gift cards?

We do not currently offer gift cards for GoodwillFinds.com, but plan to offer them in the future.

How do I check my order status?

You can access your order status by visiting your Account Dashboard and choosing 'Order History', or by visiting the Check Order page. 

What is your price adjustment/match policy?

As each item on the GoodwillFinds platform is unique in its own way, we do not match prices to similar items on both this platform or others. Please be advised that promotions and discounts must be used at the time of purchase. GoodwillFinds will not provide a refund if they fall into a sale or discount category any time after purchase.

Why was my order cancelled?

If a Fulfillment Center cancels an item, it is typically for one of the following reasons: 1) The item was damaged at the warehouse and is not suitable for shipping. 2) The item was misplaced or lost at the warehouse. 3) An item was shipped to the wrong customer and is unavailable unless or until it has been returned. Orders are not guaranteed until they have shipped.

How many items may I purchase at a time?

We currently allow up to 200 items per order.

Can I cancel my order?

All orders submitted via GoodwillFinds.com are final and may not be cancelled or amended after checkout for any reason. We encourage our customers to purchase Seel Worry-Free Purchase during the checkout process to mitigate any concerns that may arise after an order is placed. Should your parcel be refused for delivery or sent back without authorization from GoodwillFinds, the return will be considered a donation back to Goodwill and no refund will be remitted. Should you wish to have your items reshipped to you, you will need to provide Customer Service with a prepaid label via email.

Shipping and Delivery

Do you offer free shipping.

In order to optimize the funds available for making a positive impact in the community, we do not offer free shipping. Learn more about the good we do together by visiting our Community Impact Page .

Do you offer expedited shipping?

Because items from GoodwillFinds ship from a variety of Goodwill locations, shipping options vary per item. During the checkout process, you will be offered the shipping options available for your items based on your shipping address.

Do you ship outside of the United States?

No, at this time, we do not ship outside of the United States.

How long will it take for my item to ship?

Due to high order volume, your order may take up to 10 business days for your order to ship. Transit times will vary depending on the location of the item purchased, shipping destination, and carrier tracking information will be provided via email, as well as on your order status, which can be accessed in your Account Dashboard.

Why aren't all items available to ship?

Due to size, wieght, and logistical limitations, large furniture purchased through GoodwillFinds.com is only available for pick up in-store. Any shipping limitations of items in your cart will be clarified prior to purchase.

Do you ship to PO boxes?

No, at this time, we are unable to fulfill orders sent to PO boxes.

I received part of my order. Where is the rest?

Each order may contain items that are fulfilled from various centers across the GoodwillFinds network. Due to the size and composition of items, not all items may be sent together. Should all items of your order not arrive within 10 days of your order date, please contact customer service.

My order was returned to sender. What do I do?

GoodwillFinds will reach out to you once via email and phone when they are alerted that your item has been shipped back to us. If we do not hear from you within 7 days of our contact, you will be refunded for the item (shipping and handling will not be refunded) and the item will be relisted.

My item arrived damaged. What do I do?

Please email [email protected] with photos of the item and the packaging. Do not discard the packaging that you have received. Without photos and the physical packaging, our team is not able to investigate the matter further.

My item(s) is not in the package, but is showing up on the packing slip. What do I do?

Please email [email protected] with photos of the packaging. Do not discard the packaging that you have received. Without photos and the physical packaging, our team is not able to investigate the matter further.

Can I update my shipping information?

You may contact GoodwillFinds customer service prior to you item shipping to request a change in address. While we are not able to guarantee the change will happen, we will do our best to update the information. For items that have already shipped, GoodwillFinds is unable to change the shipping address. You may reach out to the courier at that point to see what your options are.

I have more than one item in my order. Will I get notifications of all items shipped?

At this time, you will receive an email when the first item is shipped with tracking information. We are currently working on a process that provides additional tracking information. Because an order with multiple items may be fulfilled from various centers across the GoodwillFinds network, not all items may be sent together. Should all items of your order not arrive within 10 days of your order date, please contact customer service.

What is your return policy?

All sales with GoodwillFinds are final. Refunds are only processed based on damages to goods during transit and fulfillment errors such as incorrectly shipped or missing items and within 14 days of receiving the item. Please contact [email protected] for additional questions. 

The one exception to our final sale policy is if you purchase Seel Worry-Free Purchase with your order. In that case, you will have 7 days to return your final sale item to Seel via the Seel Resolution Center . There is an additional charge for return shipping in the event that you return a final sale item to Seel. See our FAQs about Seel Worry-Free Purchase below.

How do I return an item and get a refund?

Sales made via goodwillfinds.com are final. Only under extenuating circumstances (broken items, item not as described, wrong item received) may be returned within 14 days of receiving the item. Pictures of the item will need to be shared in your email to [email protected].

Once your return is received, it will undergo a quality inspection. Should the inspection results determine that the faults described with the returned item align with the description of the product in the listing, the shipping cost and return shipping cost may be deducted from your refund total.

How long will my refund take?

Once GoodwillFinds is alerted of the need to process a refund for your item(s), you may anticipate your refund to be completed within 5 business days. Once refunded, it may take up to 10 business days for your refund to post back to your account.

Am I able to purchase online and return in store?

Any items purchased on GoodwillFinds.com may only be returned via mail to GoodwillFinds.com.

Seel Worry-Free Purchase

Do i have to buy seel worry-free purchase.

Seel Worry-Free Purchase is defaulted “on" during the checkout process as we believe this offers our customers the best shopping experience. If you do not wish to buy this add-on just shift the corresponding toggle to "off" and the charges will be removed from your cart. 

How do I know what is covered with the Worry-Free Purchase protection?

Seel sends you a confirmation that explains the specific coverage provided for your order. We ask that you check the email sent from [email protected] for confirmation of what is covered for your order with Worry-Free Purchase protection. 

Is there any time limit for issue reporting?

To qualify for the payout, you’ll need to follow the reporting time requirements: For issues of loss, where the package is not delivered, the issue cannot be reported sooner than 30 days from the date it was shipped- for domestic shipments (and 60 days for international shipments). Issues of damage must be reported within 7-days from the date of delivery. Issues of theft must be reported within 7-days from the date of delivery.

What products are excluded from Worry-Free Purchase?

Seel does not cover the following categories of items:

Automobiles and motorcycles

Jewelry (valued in excess of 1,500 local currency)

Boats and yachts

Live animals

Ceramic / marble or granite tiles / slab blocks countertops or statues

Negotiable papers

Cigarettes and other tobacco products

Perishable commodities

Pharmaceutical drugs

Fine arts (valued in excess of 10,000 local currency per piece)

Precious stones and metals

Scrap metal, steel metal and steel metal products; automotive engines; general used automotive merchandise made of metal

Glass windows, plate glass and similar goods

What should I do if my order arrives damaged?

Provided that Worry-Free Purchase protection covers the item, you should report the damaged package issue within 7-days (from the date of delivery) through the Seel Resolution Center . You’ll initiate the request using your email and order number found on the confirmation email. Please ensure you take photos of the package or item damage to provide when submitting your order. Worry-Free Purchase protection covers shipping-related damages to the point that the item(s) are unusable, clearly fractured, shattered, bent (if not bendable), crushed, etc., but does not cover cosmetic damage (scratches, dents, etc.), manufacturing damages, packaging errors, or unsealed items. The compensation for damaged items will be up to the value paid for the purchased item(s).

What should I do if my order was stolen after delivery?

Provided that Worry-Free Purchase protection covers the item, you should report issues of theft within 7-days of the date of delivery through the Seel Resolution Center . You’ll initiate the request using your email and order number found on the confirmation email. Some packages may require additional documentation such as a police report.

What should I do if my order was lost during delivery?

Provided that Worry-Free Purchase protection covers the item, you can report a lost package once 30-days have passed. Please initiate the request through the Seel Resolution Center using your email and order number found on the confirmation email. Seel does not cover issues where the item is not shipped out, please contact GoodwillFinds directly for fulfillment delays.

What is your return policy with Seel?

The one exception to our final sale policy is if you purchase Worry-Free Purchase protection with your order and it includes the ability to return. In that case, you will have 7-days to return your final sale item to Seel via the Seel Resolution Center . There is an additional charge for return shipping in the event that you return a final sale item to Seel. The cost of the Seel Worry-Free Purchase product is NOT refunded as part of a payout. Additionally, the cost of original shipping is NOT refunded as part of a payout.

How do I request a Return Label?

A return shipping label will be provided when you report your return request through the Seel Resolution Center . Simply log in using your email and order number found in your confirmation email and follow the steps.

How long do I have to mail the returned item I bought with Worry-Free Purchase?

If your Worry-Free Purchase protection includes returns, you have 7-days from the time you request the return in the Seel Resolution Center to ship the product(s) back, either using a Seel-generated label, or a self-purchased label. If you opt for a self-purchased label, we do require that you provide that tracking number to Seel within the Seel Resolution Center on the Reported Issue page. 

How will I know if you received my return?

Submit your return through the Seel Resolution Center and mail the package. As soon as Seel receives it, they will send you an email confirming receipt.

When will I receive my Worry-Free Purchase payout?

Once your payout request has been reviewed & accepted, you will choose a method of payout. General timing is listed below:

Direct Deposit: 1-3 business days following return acceptance

Virtual Visa Gift Card: 1 hour following return acceptance

PayPal Transfer: 1 hour following return acceptance

Venmo Transfer: 1 hour following return acceptance

Can I change my order after it is placed?

If you purchased Worry-Free Purchase protection with your order, then Seel will send you a confirmation of your Worry-Free Purchase via email with the detailed coverages included for your order. Worry-Free Purchase is not refundable unless the entire order is canceled.

I didn’t mean to purchase Worry-Free Purchase protection, how do I cancel?

If you purchased Worry-Free Purchase protection with your order, Seel will send you a confirmation of your Worry-Free Purchase via email. You have 24 hours from the time the email is received to cancel the Worry-Free Purchase protection from the link in the email, as seen in the screenshot below. After the 24 hour cancellation window has elapsed, Worry-Free Purchase protection will not be refundable.

What is Goodwill?

Chances are you've shopped at Goodwill and found a few treasures (hello, ugly Christmas sweater). While the organization is best known for keeping clothes and castoff items out of landfills, there's so much more to the nonprofit. They also provide education, employment, and training for seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities and provide childcare, transportation, and language training to individuals enrolled in programming. Goodwill operates 3,300 locations across the country and even has an online auction site where you can score rare collectibles and designer goods.

What Can I Donate?

When people think of Goodwill, they most often think of clothing, says Cate. But the organization will take fabric in any condition. "Goodwill even accepts items that are stained or ripped, as they're able to recycle the textiles and keep items out of local landfills."

Goodwill's need stretches far beyond the closet—including working and nonworking computers and equipment. "They're able to refurbish and resell computers in good shape at several stores, or if things aren't in working condition, the parts are recycled through a partnership with Dell," says Cate.

If you've ever wandered into a Goodwill store and found yourself picking up a new home accessory, you aren't alone. "Home goods are a big selling item in the stores," says Cate. "Items such as dishes and glassware, lamps, and decor, and furniture in good condition, as the interest in DIY and makeover projects really draws interest from the customers."

Some locations will even accept used vehicle donations. It's best to check with your local Goodwill to see what donation services are available in your area.

How to Donate to Goodwill?

Detailed instructions about how to donate to Goodwill are available on their website , but it's as easy as dropping off your unwanted items at your local store or scheduling a pickup. If you itemize deductions on your taxes, ask Goodwill for a receipt to keep track of what clothing and household items you donate throughout the year.

Is There Anything I Can’t Donate?

A common misconception is that Goodwill can accept anything. "That's unfortunately not the case, due to applicable laws and restrictions, or processing costs," says Cate. Goodwill, and many similar organizations, cannot accept:

  • Items with safety recalls, such as children's car seats, high chairs, baby beds, or swings
  • Large appliances like refrigerators , stoves, microwaves, or air conditioners
  • Hazardous chemicals (paints, thinners, gas or oil-based products, and cleaning supplies )
  • Broken or heavily damaged furniture

Instead of taking items to the landfill, get creative! There are numerous ways to upcycle unwanted furniture , clothes, and toys. Getting creative can reduce stress and improve your quality of life.

5 Helpful Tips for How to Donate to Goodwill

Before you load up your car with all the items you no longer need, keep these smart tips in mind for how to donate to Goodwill to help keep the process stress-free.

  • Package things that belong together in the same container. Donating a pair of shoes or a set of dishes? Keep the pairs or sets from getting separated by putting them in one container.
  • Call ahead. Some Goodwill locations offer pick-up services for large donations, like cars or furniture, and will work with you to schedule a time.
  • Go green . Pack up your donations in reusable containers. You can empty your items into bins at the store—no need for bags or boxes.
  • Check your donated items! Be sure pant pockets are free of receipts and computers are wiped clean.
  • Beat the rush. Donate during off-hours and weekdays to avoid long lines at the door.

Organization Tips for Before You Donate

It's worth your time to get organized and go through closets, drawers, and storage areas in your home before donating anything. In the kitchen, check to see if you have duplicates of items you don't use, including pots and pans and cooking utensils. You may be surprised by how many wooden spoons you have. Check your linen closet and bathroom storage for extra towels and personal care tools (like a hair dryer or straightener). In your closet , be bold in deciding what you no longer wear—chances are, if it's been a year since you've put something on, you won't ever wear it again.

Removing extra items you don't need anymore will free up space for things you need in the future.
