Entrepreneur Jordan Ferney's Manhattan Rental Is a Maximalist's Dream

jordan ferney house tour

Welcome to  The Makers . Each week, we’re celebrating innovators, artisans and crafters of all types, taking you on a private tour of their creative spaces. For this instalment, we tour  Jordan Ferney's  maximalist home, in New York City's West Village.

There's a real art to maximalist design. When executed well, a  beautifully layered room boasts color and a fearless amalgamation of pattern.  But it’s safe to say that this is one of the most difficult interior design styles to do well, and not everyone can create an all-out space without it looking chaotic.

Unsurprisingly, someone who has mastered this design style is Jordan Ferney. As an editor of Domino magazine , the founder of experiential color and art exhibit, Color Factory , and the founder of party and craft media site and online store,  Oh Happy Day, Jordan is an expert in creating a feel-good home. " My mom instilled in us the idea that art and making your home beautiful were worthwhile pursuits. " she says.

The main living area is swathed in a beautiful seafoam green shade that's perfectly juxtaposed with mustard and burnt orange hues. This palette continues throughout the home creating a cohesive look and feel that's both vibrant and sophisticated.

Below, Jordan shares her colorful career history, facing her fears of  putting her creative ideas out in the world, and how she makes an interior space a nice place to hang out.

Hi Jordan! This series is called The Makers . What is it that you make?

I’m an entrepreneur. Formerly, I’m the founder of Color Factory , an experiential color and art exhibit and Oh Happy Day , a party and craft media site and online store. Currently, I’m an editor at Domino magazine and working to launch a new company in 2022.

How does the act of “making” relate to your personality and who you are?

I like to be really intentional when I bring something into my home. I grew up in a big family and my parents were schoolteachers. I remember my sister teaching me when I was 12 years old that if you are going to buy a waste paper basket, you might as well buy one that is beautiful and I’ve tried to always be deliberate to bringing beautiful things into my life.

jordan ferney house tour

Tell us about your career journey to date. Did you always know you wanted to pursue this line of work?

I went to school as an English Literature major, but I’ve always loved parties and knew I’d wanted to be an event planner. Very quickly, I learned I didn’t like pleasing clients and wanted to create for myself. That’s when I realized I could share my ideas online and Oh Happy Day was born.

Talk us through your creative process. Where do you start?

I’m very inspired by retail stores - everything from a tightly edited concept store to a haphazardly thrown together thrift store. I get really inspired by looking and touching things in person. Of course, the internet is always great source for inspiration. If I am ever feeling uninspired, I go for a walk and visit some shops.

jordan ferney house tour

What’s been the single most crucial tool or strategy you’ve used to further your business?

Investing in people and relationships has been the most important. The farther I get in my career, the more I realise that everything is about creating relationships and helping people so that comes back to you some day.

What’s been the most challenging lesson learnt so far in your business?

There have been many. I think understanding that I can’t please everyone has been really hard for me. Sometimes the creative agenda or personal agenda have to take priority over other people’s needs was a hard lesson to learn. In addition, the idea that whatever you are scared of will probably happen in some form or another. Difficult stuff happens when you put yourself out there and facing that fear is part of the price you pay for getting to put your ideas out in the world.

jordan ferney house tour

What’s been the best thing that’s happened to you since you started your business?

Putting my ideas out into the world has been very fulfilling.

Do you have a single piece of advice you’d give to your younger self or someone looking to pursue a similar line of work?

I had to set up reliable and predictable systems and figure out how to make enough money to make our basic bills. Everything else beyond that, every penny, every minute was spent towards building my business. Sometimes I see people leap in without setting up an infrastructure first. It took me several years to get to a place where we saved enough money from our jobs and working part time for other people before we could finally work for ourselves.

jordan ferney house tour

Now, the home stuff. How long have you lived here?

We moved in February 2020, right before the pandemic hit. With nothing else to do, it became my fulltime job to decorate this rental.

How did you initially know this was the space for you?

I’d spent most of my career in San Francisco and have always wanted to live in NY. The windows in our space are amazing and get so much light which is so rare in the West Village.

Did you do any renovations or make any big changes after moving in?

We made some pretty big changes in the kitchen and added a bunch of storage, just IKEA armoires.

jordan ferney house tour

What was the thought process behind the way you’ve styled the interior?

I’m a maximalist but I like to have lots of storage so I can hide things away so I can feel things are tidy and tucked away. In city apartments , I usually work on the space being functional first and then figure out how to make it feel good and a nice place to hang out. I think if you add books , plants and artwork , it can make up for any hosts of sins.

What are your favourite pieces in the home?

I love these chairs from Muller Van Severen.

Do you have any special décor pieces you’re looking to add?

I’ve always wanted a womb chair and I saw one from Forsyth Art that is upholstered in sheepskin.

jordan ferney house tour

Recreate Jordan's look with our   Rust Bedding Set .

Which is your favourite room in the house?

My bedroom although I enjoy the family room.

What are your top tips for a well-styled bedroom, and home generally?

Create systems so that it can stay nice and serene. For example, have a place for dirty clothes so even when you are busy, your room can feel calm. Fill it with art and flowers and things that make you happy.

Do you have any projects coming up you want to talk about?

I’m launching a new company in Spring 2022 I’m very excited about. In the meantime, I’m restoring an old farmhouse outside of New York City.

THE NORDROOM

A Creative and Colorful Home in New York City

If you have a home with awkward nooks and rooms and don’t know what to do then pay attention to this post. Jordan Ferney is the founder of design lifestyle website Oh Happy Days and the love for color you see on her website is also evident in her New York home.

Together with her husband and three children she moved into this apartment in Manhattan which was only meant as a ‘landing space’ inbetween their travels, but of course Covid put halt to those plans and they ended up living here full time. Creative Jordan took this Covid period to completely design their family home and oh boy it’s a beauty.

The apartment has slightly akward rooms, with many nooks bút the rooms are also extremely light-filled with skylights and artist windows. Many colors were used in the home, in the living room it’s green with open shelves next to the fireplace, large cabinets behind the blue HAY sofa and gorgeous windows to flood this room with light. The hallway was created by Jordan, it’s a dark space but the checker wallpaper (designed by Jordan) brights up the room.

The master bedroom is painted in a muted sand tone but even here is a colorful touch with the blue Big-Game Bold-Chair. A big DIY project is featured in one of the kids bedroom, Jordan couldn’t find a suitable wallpaper so her husband created a gorgeous mural that took 5 days to complete. I absolutely adore this home, the slightly akward rooms, the color and the cheerful overall vibe.

What did you want to be when you were young?

A Marine Biologist cause thats what EVERYONE wanted to be when I was eight years old. In college I thought I wanted to be an Event Planner and when I realized there were very few courses for that and a degree in Hospitality wasn’t appealing I graduated in English Literature.

What do you consider yourself? Example: Artist, designer, maker, etc.

jordan ferney house tour

Did you feel pressured in any way to pursue a certain career path?

Did you have anyone along the way that was instrumental in the trajectory of your life?

jordan ferney house tour

You were one of the first people to produce original content for your blog. What lead you to think that it would be a viable career, especially in the early days when you weren’t getting paid for it?

jordan ferney house tour

What’s a typical day like for you?

What’s a piece of advice that you’ve carried with you?

  • DO NOT BE A VICTIM. Own your own shit. Do not give other people permission to control your happiness.
  • ASK FOR THINGS. Do not wait for things to come to you. Do the work and tell people what you want.
  • DO NOT BE JEALOUS. If you find yourself with feelings of jealousy (totally normal!) it is a sign you need to figure out how to get that thing you want. It was only in my thirties that I realized people get jealous and don’t do anything about it–what an awful way to live your life.

What’s coming up for you in 2019?

What does your dream retirement look like?

What artists/designers/creatives do you look up to? Both historical or present

Hi Jordan, I find you so inspiring and thoughtful. But I wonder if you’ve given any thought to the environmental damage of all the single use items you sell. Could this be an opportunity to steer away from such items and inspire joy and celebration in sustainable ways? Thank you.

I’ve admired Jordan and her journey for years and continue to be inspired and challenged by her evolving trajectory!

Mom 2.0 Speaker Jordan Ferney Creates & Opens Color Factory NYC

Isabel Kallman and Laura Mayes at Color Factory NYC

Last spring, at Mom 2.0 2018 in Los Angeles, Jordan Ferney , creator of the best party resource on the internet, epic blog and party supply shop,  Oh Happy Day and Color Factory San Francisco , spoke about how to use online influence to create cool things offline in  Building a Brick & Mortar Store, Experience or Business with Online Influence . She joined Gabrielle Blair, creator of Design Mom and Alt Summit, and Catherine McCord, creator of Weelicious and  One Potato , on stage and went into candid, specific detail about how to expand your online influence to launch a product, experience, store front, or business.

We knew she knew a lot about this, because we saw it first hand.

We toured the San Francisco Color Factory last summer and found it to be an actual, IRL science experiment in how interacting with color can change your brain, heart and soul with a flood of endorphins. In other words, the 12-year-old with us started the tour as a grumpy, surly pre-teen and ended it in the best mood ever, literally covered in happy yellow; he didn’t want it to end and was the last one to leave. So when Jordan announced there would be a NYC Color Factory opening late this summer, we knew it had a lot to live up to. And we knew she would have a very busy summer working to make it all happen. Because that’s what Jordan does. She makes magic happen.

Jordan Ferney | Color Factory NYC Creator

Jordan Ferney, creator of the Color Factory

The result feels like what would happen if the Color Factory San Francisco went to New York for a graduate degree in design, and then got a PhD in excellence, with highest honors.

Located in a now color-striped building in Soho, Color Factory NYC is essentially a giant art installation bringing color to over 20,000 square feet. (For reference, the San Francisco version was 12,000 square feet.) Each room holds a different color experience created by different artists — some local to New York City, and others from around the world.

The end result: Color Factory NYC is a feast for the five senses and a beautiful getaway where you can create, interact with, and actually feast upon color experiences. There’s a surprise around every corner, treats you’d never expect and experiences you’ll think about for months after as you move through this well-thought-out maze of color, poetry, movement, sound and delight. Visiting the Color Factory NYC literally makes you happier.

Gabrielle Blair and Isabel Kallman at Color Factory NYC

Gabrielle Blair gave Isabel Kallman and me a tour of Color Factory NYC

Jordan’s co-panelist (and actual sister) Gabrielle Blair gave me and Mom 2.0 Speaker Isabel Kallman, creator of Alpha Mom and Feed Our Democracy, a tour of Color Factory NYC the week before it opened.

We don’t want to give away too much because it’s so much better as an experiential surprise, but we will share a tiny few of the photos that we took on the beautiful tour. They’re completely untouched, because the space is designed for great photos. From the moment you enter the lobby (first photo, an installation called  100 Colors  by Tokyo-based architect Emmanuelle Moureaux), to your last dive into color (keep reading) you are not only immersed in color but also in really clever, thoughtful user experiences. It will honestly open your mind to what a customer experience should be and take your creativity — and thoughts about what’s possible — to the next level.

Isabel Kallman at Color Factory NYC

Isabel Kallman checks into the Color Factory NYC

When you register, you receive a Color Factory card that connects your email address with cameras in each room. You’ll use the card to let the camera know you’re ready to snap a photo, and the photo will automatically be emailed to your inbox. So easy. And the photos or GIFs you receive are fun, smart and Instagram-ready.

Booths at Color Factory NYC

You’ll never guess what you do in this area. It’s the coolest idea.

Each area brings colorful thoughts and challenges into different parts of your brain.

Macarons at Color Factory NYC

One of the many treats inside the Color Factory NYC

The Color Factory also offers sweet treats that tie into the experience in various rooms. I don’t want to spoil all of them for you, but I  will  say that one of them involves a rotating belt of macarons. (Photo from Design Mom )

Inner Custom Color Quiz at Color Factory NYC

Maze Quiz: Find Out Your Inner Custom Color by Answering a Few Questions…

I found my inner color by answering a series of questions as I moved around the room and into my own personal color photo booth. Sunrise. Little Red Corvette. And etc. I can’t give away all of my inner, personal color secrets.

Green Custom Color at Color Factory NYC

Your personal color might be connected to a dance move that you can and will use on a Saturday Night Fever dance floor. Hypothetically.

My inner, personal color might be The Eyes of Tom Cruise. Or it might be YAS Green! I’ll never tell. I will definitely not tell you the dance move connected to it. Only Isabel and Gabby and Jordan know this magic.

Laura Mayes at Color Factory NYC

Each of these giant balls has a child’s wish for the world printed on it. Also I have 100 photos like this. At least.

There also might be a room full of flying colorful balloons inscribed with wishes for the world from little kids. Possibly.

Look, I know this is a lot to process in one blog post, but I am REALLY HOLDING back on the photos. There are 17 rooms after all, including a  color-filled gift shop curated by  Randi Brookman Harris . Many of the items in the shop are special collaborations with Color Factory (I want the striped pjs!).

They say to plan about an hour to go through the exhibits, but if you love taking photos, I’d recommend planning a longer visit. Suffice it to say, you will have a lot to process when you leave, and a lot of photos.

And it’s not just the exhibits. Color Factory NYC doesn’t stop when you leave the building. The experience has expanded outside of its Hudson Square walls and into 23 spots across the city, which can be found via a free map that’s available at the Factory’s door, no ticket required.

Colorwalk Map | Color Factory NYC

Color Factory’s “Colorwalk Map” with the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum.

For starters, earlier this summer, I visited the Color Factory’s Colorwalk Map in the garden of the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum on the Upper East Side. That’s definitely worth a visit.

Color Map | Color Factory NYC

At the end of the tour, you’re given a Color Map, which highlights all kinds of other fun, colorful surprises you can find in the city related to The Color Factory.

You’ll also get access to a map of the city that includes 20 more Color Factory activities sprinkled throughout the neighborhood. And they are really cool.

Ball Pit at Color Factory NYC

In the end, you’ll find that you’ve jumped into Color Factory with both feet. And you can strike a pose in blue goodness.

The best part was touring The Color Factory with friends. And taking 100 gifs of each other dancing, jumping, and diving into life.

Laura Mayes and Gabrielle Blair at Color Factory NYC

Gabrielle Blair and me at the Color Factory NYC opening party

You might note that the gelato pictured in the bottom left of the above photo is the exact same color as the ball pit room. This is no accident. And this treat isn’t just for the Color Factory NYC opening party, it is one of the many you’ll find every day at the Color Factory.

Tickets in San Francisco sold out quickly, and I have no doubt the New York tickets will go fast too. So if you’d like to see it, it would be best to buy tickets sooner than later. FYI: They are only available  online  — and you can buy them right here . Grab your space and reserve your experience while you can.

Erica Jang Jordan Ferney and Leah Rosenburg | Color Factory NYC

A few of the brilliant minds behind Color Factory: Erin Jang, Jordan Ferney and Leah Rosenburg

Huge shout outs and congratulations to Jordan and the amazing team behind Color Factory NYC. In addition to Jordan, the visual direction and design are by the incredibly talented  Erin Jang  and  Leah Rosenburg . More brilliance in creativity and operations comes from Alison Piepmeyer and Rebecca Wright.  Cheers, Ladies! You all made something amazing this summer.

CFNY is located at 251 Spring Street in SoHo, open Thursday–Tuesday, 10 a.m.–11 p.m.; general admission tickets are  available online  for $38.

Moscow: City Sightseeing by Car/Bus

Visiting a new city is akin to going on a first date, it is something you will never forget. Many people imagine Moscow as just a bunch of sporadic landmarks: Red Square, the Kremlin, Lenin’s Mausoleum and GUM. There is so much more to this wonderful city than that and even though we only have a few hours, we will do all we can to show you everything we know and love about our capital in one fell swoop. We will take you on a journey through the ages, from centuries ago, right up to the modern day, soaking in the sights of this vast and bustling metropolis. Bright, luxurious and both ancient and modern at the same time, Moscow invites you on a date you’ll never forget!

On our sightseeing bus tour of the city, you will see:

  • The wonderfully historic city centre and its unique museums, magnificent cathedrals, the exquisite Chambers of the Romanov Boyars and of course, the famous towering red brick walls of the Kremlin, The charming beauty of the Alexander Garden awaits the capital's guests - a lush green oasis in the midst of the glass and concrete clad metropolis, basking in the etherial aura emanating from the whitewashed stone walls of the restored Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, the world- renowned fairytale onion domes of St. Basil's Cathedral and other impressive monumental buildings such as the library built in Lenin's honour - the Russian State Library - and the State Duma.
  • The Lubyanka KGB headquarters is notorious to members of older generations and although nowadays, the face of the secret police has changed dramatically, the looming enigmatic building on the waterfront maintains its aura of mystery, shrouded in a variety of murky rumours and dark myths. Then, there’s another of Moscow's main attractions - the marvellous Bolshoi Theatre, yew simply cant leave Moscow without taking in its breathtaking architecture. Engrained in the fabric of Russia's cultural heritage, virtuoso performers such as prima ballerina Galina Ulanova, opera singer Feodor Chaliapin and pianist, composer and conductor Sergei Rachmaninoff once stood centre stage of this vaunted institution.
  • The memorial complex on Poklonnaya Hill was constructed in the glory and honour of our heroes who defended our nation in the many crucial battles of the Great Patriotic War (WWII). This is a place that embodies a particularly acute and inextricable link between older ancf younger generations. Moving on to the Moscow International Business Centre, not dubbed ‘Moscow City' for nothing, a true glimpse of the future in the present. This incredible, rather jaw-dropping project in the capital has shown that Moscow has come to accept the age of the skyscraper. Finally, the stunning views from the observation deck at Sparrow Hills will leave professional and amateur photographers alike itching to capture them. How could one resist?

The most beautiful of all the world's cities - lady Moscow invites you out on a date!

The 8 Things That Made Jordan Ferney’s Apartment Entryway Feel Less Lobby-Like

Drop your keys and stay a while.

Every time I walked into the lobby of the duplex we share with our neighbor , I was greeted with piles of junk mail. The way-too-small mirror and hand-me-down console table, left behind from a former tenant and topped with faux gerbera daisies, weren’t helping the overall look of the space either. The ambience was overdue for an update.

I casually mentioned the idea of painting and improving the space to my landlord, who gave me the green light as long as it functioned the same way (we would still need a table on which to drop letters that didn’t block the hallway, etc.). I was planning on presenting my thoughts to our neighbor, as well, but before I could, they moved out. I jumped at the opportunity to make some executive decisions. The following eight elements were a must.

The Solid Foundation

white drab entry

The dimensions of the new console table had to be very specific given it’s a tight space. I spent a lot of time searching and ultimately landed on this piece from Wayfair that has traditional lines and took advantage of the long wall. I also liked that it had a second shelf so we could incorporate baskets for bonus storage.

The Filing System

From a practical standpoint, we needed to be able to sort mail, but our previous organizer took up way too much tabletop space. In lieu of a catchall container, I switched things up with two brass holders from Anthropologie that hang on the wall. They take up less room and have multiple compartments that make separating bills from grocery shopping lists a breeze.

The Splash of Color

womans hand holding paint roller

I wanted to choose a color that was a little risky, so I went with a bright mint hue from Valspar dubbed Cuddle Bug. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but this isn’t a huge space and I try not to be too precious with paint—it’s easy to go back over it if you change your mind. I covered the walls in less than an hour. Now it feels so welcoming and happy.

The Quick Touch-Up

Once I had the table in place, I looked for a large wall mirror to really fill the space (the one there previously was way too tiny). To find the perfect fit, I cut a piece of cardboard the same size as the shape I was looking for to ensure I ordered the right one. It’s a simple trick, but I’ve learned from experience that spending 20 minutes mocking something up saves time and money. I ended up choosing this wood find from Rejuvenation that feels modern and lends a sense of warmth. Plus I can check my lipstick as I’m rushing out the door.

The Nod to the Past

gray console table and red rug

I was racking my brain for what to frame that would be appropriate for the lobby of a building. I remembered a website my friend had sent me that showed all the houses in New York from the 1940 census. I corrected the image in Photoshop and printed it out. It’s so fun to see our building from 80 years ago and think of the people who have lived here before us. I painted the frames red to add a pop to the wall.

The Time-Tested Rug

I specifically looked for an indoor-outdoor rug because it’s the first thing people step (read: wipe their shoes) on when entering our home. I bought a few knowing I could return the ones I didn’t use and ended up choosing one that tied in nicely with the picture frames.

The Backup Plan

After scooping up a bunch of umbrellas at Muji (it’s my favorite place to buy them, not to mention I scored them on sale), I put a holder next to the console so they don’t end up at the bottom of a coat closet. I also love the idea of sending an umbrella-less friend home in a storm with some coverage, almost as if they were leaving a nice hotel.

The Finishing Touches

mint green wall

For the final layer, I added a lamp I had stored in my closet that’s the ideal size for a narrow table (it won’t topple over when delivery people come through). And a simple-to-care-for olive tree has brought a ton of life to the space. Now it’s much easier to stay organized and keep up with all the action the lobby sees. Our new neighbor recently moved in and immediately complimented the entryway.

  • Dates & Prices

This short Moscow tour will give you a true taste of the history, culture and incomparable urban vibe that define one of the world’s largest metropolises. In just three days, this Moscow itinerary takes in all the most iconic sights of this attraction-packed destination. After two and half days getting acquainted with the city, we’ve set time aside for you to explore Moscow your way and discover your own favourite hang-outs in a city overflowing with hidden treasures

3-Day Moscow Tour Highlights:

  • Panoramic Tour of Moscow: See Moscow beyond the postcard images on a private excursion by car through the city streets including a drive along the banks of the Moskva River. Visit the famous Bolshoi Theatre, pass by Gorky Park and the Novodevichy Convent, and admire the city from on high at the Sparrow Hill observation platform.
  • Moscow Historical City Centre Guided Walking Tour : Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of one of the world’s biggest metropolises and discover local haunts on foot, including the Red Square, the Kremlin and the multi-coloured domes of St Basil’s Cathedral.
  • Armory Chamber tour: Explore the endless treasures of this unique museum, displaying the wealth accumulated by Russian rulers from the 12th century until the October Revolution of 1917. Walking through the exhibition halls is a journey through the centuries.
  • Moscow Metro Tour : Go deep underground on a subway tour of the famous Moscow metro. The world’s deepest metro system is renowned for its palatial, art-adorned stations, complete with marble columns and chandeliers.

On your first day, you’ll be treated to a panoramic, drive-by tour of Moscow to get a feel for the immense scale of one of the world’s most rapidly developing urban centres. The city’s history unfolds in real-time as you pass lavish imperial mansions, solemn Soviet structures and luxurious modern shopping centres.

Day two kicks off exploring Moscow’s historic centre on foot, followed by a tour of the Kremlin, the seat of Russian power and political intrigue for centuries. Stand in the Red Square, surrounded by the stunning architecture as you hear stories of the people and events behind many of Moscow’s most iconic landmarks.

On your final day, we’ll head beneath the city for a tour of the Moscow Metro and its famously ornate underground stations. Art lovers should hit up one of Moscow’s many world-class galleries such as the Tretyakov State Gallery, the Pushkin Museum or Garage, Moscow’s cutting-edge contemporary art museum. History fans can follow a Soviet trail through the city including Stalin’s Bunker, while those seeking a more indulgent experience can browse trendy neighbourhoods like Kitay Gorod or shop for everything from fashion to kitsch souvenirs at the enchanting Izmaylovo Flea Market. Foodies can head to one of the countless speciality stores sampling vodka, caviar and chocolate.

If you only have a few days to spend in Moscow, this tour will ensure you make the most of your time in the city. Let the experts navigate you through this complex and occasionally overwhelming capital, giving you plenty of time to soak up the city’s most unmissable attractions.

Russia Moscow Tour

Day 1 Panoramic city tour

Welcome to the glorious capital of Russia, Moscow! You’ll be met by your driver at the airport and taken to your centrally located hotel.

After check-in and rest, meet your private guide at the hotel lobby for a comprehensive tour of Moscow by car. Visit the starkly contrasting Theatre Square to see the stunning Bolshoi Theatre, pass Tverskaya Street, the city’s main boulevard and home to the landmark Yeleseyevskiy Grocery Store.

You’ll enjoy a panoramic drive along the Moskva River, where a huge, controversial state of Peter the Great was erected. Pass by the legendary Gorky Park and the White House before a stop at the architecturally stunning Novodevichy Convent, and the observation platform at Sparrow Hills, for a bird’s eye view over this staggering megalopolis.

Day 2 Red Square and Kremlin

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will take you on a walking tour of the historical city centre. Stroll through the Red Square, the hub of cultural life in Moscow, with its elaborate ‘stone flower’ fountain and fantasy-like St Basil’s Cathedral – a postcard-perfect symbol of the nation. Admire the grandiose façade of GUM, the city’s most luxurious shopping centre, and visit Alexander’s Garden, with its eternal flame and the chance to watch a changing of the guards.

Break for lunch before continuing on a tour of the Kremlin and Armoury Chamber, famous of its collection of tsarist fashion, with regalia such as jewel-encrusted crowns, orbs and sceptres as well as arms and armour, exotic gifts from the leaders of faraway lands, and an illustrious case of Imperial Faberge eggs.

As an option* spend an evening on a sumptuous dinner cruise, taking in the stunning sights and city lights of this mesmerising metropolis by night.

Day 3 Metro and Arbat Street

Start a day with a tour of Metro, stopping on the way to marvel at some of the most elaborately decorated stations of the world-famous Moscow subway system. Take a stroll along Old Arbat street - the most famous street in Moscow. Through the centuries Arbat used to be one of the most bohemian places in Moscow. Today Arbat is a promenade full of small cozy cafes and street life.

The afternoon is free for you to either enjoy the rest of the day on your own or choose among optional excursions to explore more of Moscow. Visit the Tretyakov Gallery or Pushkin State Museum to admire Russian art. Join locals for a stroll at the Gorky or VDNH park.

Visit beautiful Kolomeskoye Estate or Izmailovo Kremlin, or spend a day exploring the beautiful city of the Golden Ring (Russian province) - Sergiev Posad. In the evening you will be transferred to the airport for your departure to your next destination.
