Get Directions

Cross the Golden Gate Bridge and follow signs indicating Downtown San Francisco. Stay to the left and take the Marina exit; you’ll see the sign overhead. While you might be tempted to take a right at the first stop light (Lyon Street) and pull directly into the Palace of Fine Arts, pass the Lyon Street entrance and proceed straight on Marina Boulevard. Then:

• Right on Baker Street
• Left on Jefferson Street
• Left on Broderick Street
• Left on Marina Boulevard, then immediately move into the right lane
• Turn right on Yacht Road and follow signs for Palace of Fine Arts parking (lot is next to the St. Francis Yacht Club).
• Or continue on Marina onto Mason Street. The alternate parking lot will be on your left (see map). Please note that there is a walkway from this lot to the back of the main Theatre lot.

NOTE: Avoid bearing left on Marina Boulevard; that stretch of Marina Boulevard turns into an onramp for Highway 101 and the Golden Gate Bridge. If you inadvertently end up on the approach to the Bridge, don’t worry; you’ll have a chance to exit to the right just before the toll plaza. You can then make your way back to the Palace of Fine Arts through the Presidio or retry the directions from above.

Cross the Bay Bridge. Follow the signs to the 9th Street exit. Stay in the right-hand lane. Go one block and turn right onto 9th Street. Stay in the left-hand lane. Immediately after Market Street, veer left onto Hayes Street. Then:

• Right on Van Ness Avenue (look for signs to the Golden Gate Bridge)
• Left on Lombard Street; once on Lombard, get into the right-hand lane
• Right on Divisadero Street

NOTE: Avoid bearing left on Marina Boulevard; that stretch of Marina Boulevard turns into an onramp for Highway 101 and the Golden Gate Bridge. If you inadvertently end up on the approach to the Bridge, don’t worry; you’ll have a chance to exit to the right just before the toll plaza. You can then make your way back to the Palace of Fine Arts through the Presidio, or use the directions “From the North Bay,” above.

From Highway 101

Take Highway 101 North to the Market Street/Van Ness exit. Take Van Ness to Lombard (look for signs to the Golden Gate Bridge). Turn left onto Lombard. Once on Lombard, get into the right-hand lane. Then:

• Turn right on Yacht Road and follow signs for Palace of Fine Arts parking (lot is next to the St. Francis Yacht Club). If you pass the lot, you’ll see signs on the right for additional parking at Crissy Field.

From Interstate 280

Follow 19th Avenue through Golden Gate Park; 19th Avenue becomes Park Presidio Boulevard on the other side of the Park. Follow signs for the Highway 101 Detour. Then:

• Right on Geary Boulevard
• Left on Van Ness Avenue, move into left lanes
• Left on Lombard Street, get into the right-hand lane

The Palace of Fine Arts Theatre has convenient access to public transportation. We are accessible by San Francisco Muni buses #30, #43, #28, and #29. Muni bus lines #22, #41, and #45 also stop in the vicinity. From Fisherman’s Wharf take the #30 Stockton bus. For more information, call Muni at (415) 673-6864 or check the SFMTA trip planner.

If you’re taking BART, get off at the Montgomery Street station, walk one half-block up Market Street to Third Street, and catch the #30 Stockton bus on the corner.

Virtually all downtown-bound Golden Gate Transit buses stop nearby the Theatre. Ask your driver for directions or call Golden Gate Transit Information at 511 (toll-free) or 415-455-2000 (outside the Bay Area).

Alison Ward (Agnetha) Originally from Liverpool, England, Ward has performed as a vocalist throughout the United Kingdom, including at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London. She went on to sing as lead vocalist in a show at the New York- New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, and she remains a Las Vegas resident to this day. Ward has also performed with every major cruise line worldwide.

Hana Keala Freeman (Frida) A graduate of the University of Nevada-Reno, Freeman is a Los Angeles-based actress, singer and dancer. She has performed for Tokyo Disney and toured the world in productions on cruise ships, and also performed in Off-Broadway productions “50 Shades the Musical Parody” and “Sista’s the Musical.” She has performed with hit Broadway national tours such as “Ghost the Musical” and re-joins the Abba Mania family for her second tour.

James Allen (Bjorn) Raised in Sydney, Australia, Allen has performed in numerous leading theater productions, such as “Les Miserables,” “West Side Story” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.” He has served as a guest entertainer on numerous cruise lines, and also lived in Las Vegas for several years while performing in “Donn Arden’s Jubilee.”

Jeff Pike (Benny) As a vocalist, keyboardist and guitarist, Pike has performed many different musical styles in his three decades as an entertainer. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, he just recorded two new albums scheduled for release in 2022 and 2023.

Caitlin Clark effect sparks Aces venue change for Fever clash

R eigning WNBA champions, the Las Vegas Aces are bracing themselves for what could be a surge of excitement and Caitlin Clark mania in their matchup against the Indiana Fever .

The Aces revealed that their matchup against the Fever on July 2 will be relocated from Michelob Ultra Arena to the bigger T-Mobile Arena, situated a mile away on the Strip, via Front Office Sports.

Last year’s champs will take on Caitlin Clark , expected to be the top pick in the upcoming WNBA Draft, along with Aliyah Boston, the Fever’s current franchise player and reigning Rookie of the Year.

Shortly after declaring for the draft, the Fever, who have the first pick for the second consecutive year, subtly hinted at Clark’s eventual destination.

The Iowa superstar, known for breaking numerous all-time NCAA scoring records during her four-year tenure with the Hawkeyes, has significantly boosted interest in women’s college basketball, both in live attendance and television viewership. Aces spokesperson John “Giggy” Maxwell understands that more eyes are going to be on the matchup with Clark in town, via LVSportsBiz.com inquired about the venue change

“T-Mobile is obviously a larger venue (17,000-plus, compared to 10,000-plus at Michelob ULTRA Arena),” Maxwell said. “We sold out five of our 20 home games as of late yesterday, three days after putting single game tickets on sale,”

“Given the demand for this game, and given that T-Mobile was available, the decision was made to move the game to allow as many fans as possible to attend,” Maxwell continued.

The Las Vegas Aces two homes

The Aces, who moved to Las Vegas from San Antonio in 2018, have made the 12,000-seat Michelob Ultra Arena their home. They recently shared on social media that five games in the upcoming season, including the game against the Fever, have already sold out.

Las Vegas will play their second game at T-Mobile Arena this season when they face the Indiana Fever, following their earlier announcement of a game against the Chicago Sky also scheduled at T-Mobile Arena as part of their 2024 home schedule, which comprises 20 out of 40 total games.

The Aces announced that tickets for the July 2 game against the Fever, which will now have increased capacity, will be available for sale starting April 10 at 10 a.m.

The T-Mobile Arena, inaugurated in 2016, is also located in Las Vegas and serves as the home arena for the Stanley Cup-winning Golden Knights. It can accommodate up to 17,500 fans for hockey and 18,000 for basketball games, with a maximum capacity of 20,000 during boxing and UFC events.

Clark and her Iowa women’s basketball teammates aim to extend their successful run in the Women’s Final Four this weekend as they go up against UConn and their star player, Paige Bueckers. Once she joins the WNBA, the Aces will be waiting.

Top-ranked Nelly Korda advances to semifinals of T-Mobile Match Play

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Top-ranked Nelly Korda advanced to the semifinals of the T-Mobile Match Play on Saturday by defeating fellow American and Solheim Cup teammate Angel Yin 3 and 2 at Shadow Creek Golf Course.

"This course is brutal, especially in this weather," Korda said. "It was so cold this morning. I'm happy to get a couple of rounds under my belt, and hopefully that will help me in my next match."

In the other quarterfinal matches, 2020 LPGA Tour Player of the Year Sei Young Kim defeated Rose Zhang 6 and 5, Leona Maguire beat Moriya Jutanugarn 4 and 3 and Narin An eliminated Minami Katsu 1 up.

Korda will face An and Maguire will play Kim in the semifinals Saturday afternoon. The final is Sunday.

Korda is attempting to win her fourth tournament in a row. Lorena Ochoa in 2008 was the last player to accomplish that.

Prop Farm: Las Vegas bettors balancing Masters action amid search for Valero value

For many, it may feel like the calm before the storm. The Valero Texas Open will be the final test on TOUR before the season's first major championship. It's been roughly nine months since the last major was held and as usual, bettors have been chomping at the bit to get some action down on the Masters.

"I have to say, at this point, the Masters' handle has been quite good. A lot more than the lead-up to last year which is great to see," said Tristan Davis, senior manager at Mandalay Bay Race & Sportsbook. "We have notable Masters liabilities right now on Brooks Koepka and Wyndham Clark."

A trend that Davis pointed out in this column last week is bettors landing on some long shots who fared well the week before: "Once again a player who got close last week at big odds has had good support for this week in San Antonio," Davis explained. "This time it's David Skinns at +17500. Other than that, it has been a pretty quiet week so far. Punters maybe saving their cash for next week."

Thomas Gable, director of race and sports at The Borgata in New Jersey, isn't seeing a great deal of activity this week, either.

"Nothing real notable for the Valero other than in the outright market, where we are seeing a lot of long shots getting bet," said Gable. "As for the Masters, our biggest liability currently is Viktor Hovland at +1800. A little bit on Xander Schauffele and Max Homa, too."

For revered Las Vegas golf oddsmaker Jeff Sherman, there has been no calm before the major storm. "It's not slower this week," Sherman said. "In fact, more handle on the Valero Texas Open than last week already."

Maybe the major championship anticipation has more bettors getting involved ahead of schedule.

"We took some sharp action this week on Matt Fitzpatrick and Billy Horschel to win in Texas," Sherman continued, who has been in the racket of golf odds-making for almost 30 years. "We do have some Masters liability already on Schauffele, Hideki Matsuyama and Tiger Woods."

The Valero Texas Open field features 30 players already qualified for next week's trip to Georgia. Those not yet qualified can punch their ticket with a win come Sunday. At Mandalay Bay, Davis is seeing this week's heavy load come in on big names who are already in the field next week.

"Ludvig Åberg is who the punters are honing in on this week," Davis said. "So far he is responsible for 15% of the total hold at +1200 with Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy a distant second and third."

Hall of Fame bookmaker Nick Bogdanovich is taking action on a player still trying to get into the field for the Masters. "They're playing Keith Mitchell to win it this week," Bogdanovich said before noting, "We have liability for next week already on Clark and Sam Burns."

It is a tricky handicap this week with what lies ahead. How do the players already qualified for Augusta treat this week? How will the players not already qualified handle the pressure of trying to earn their way in? Horschel, who has a great track record at TPC San Antonio and has been playing very well as of late, is trying to avoid missing the Masters for the first time since 2017. He is currently 87th in the world rankings. Bogdanovich is seeing bettors back the long-time TOUR veteran to continue his recent push and noted, "They're betting Horschel on the 'yes' to finish top-20 this week."

Ryan Moore has played in 10 Masters, dating back to 2003, but hasn't been back since 2018. He has four top-15 finishes at Augusta and has only missed the cut twice. The 41-year-old finished fifth two weeks ago at the Valspar Championship and was 31st last week in Houston. "Moore is getting action on the 'yes' to make the cut at the Valero," said Bogdanovich.

In the head-to-head matchup market this week, the sharps are getting involved at Mandalay Bay. "There have been some good sharp moves. Max Homa to beat Spieth from +120 to +110, Rickie Fowler to beat Victor Perez from +100 into -110, and Charley Hoffman to beat Jhonattan Vegas from +105 into -110," said Davis.

Bogdanovich pointed out three matchups he has seen take sharp action: "Spieth over Collin Morikawa, Byeong-Hun An over Harris English, and Akshay Bhatia over Maverick McNealy have taken respected money."

Next week's field for the Masters is currently at 88 players. One more could be added depending on this week's results at the Valero Texas Open. Winds anywhere from 10-20 mph or stronger are expected this week in San Antonio. Is that a "calm before the storm?" Here in the Prop Farm, we turn to a quote that seems fitting for what's in store.

Brendan Allen and Chris Curtis squared off in a Middleweight contest earlier tonight (Sat., April 6, 2024) inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada for UFC Vegas 90. Following a competitive five-round fight, Allen earned the nod.

Allen opened the fight aggressively, punting Curtis in the mid-section and blasting him with a good right hand. Early in the round, Allen slipped a punch and took Curtis down, immediately taking his back. That’s Allen’s best position, but Curtis was able to escape pretty quickly back to his feet.

Back in the center, Allen was still the sharper man. He was picking his shots really well, sneaking punches through the guard and finding powerful kicks. On a couple occasions, Curtis was able to extend the exchange and find his own punches, but those moments were few and far between.

Curtis cut off the cage early in the second, forcing Allen into the fence early and landing a heavy right hook. Allen continued to fire straight punches, but Curtis was reading them more effectively and able to roll. As “Action Man” began to pick up momentum, Allen stunned him with a good shot and followed up with a good combination. Curtis began to target the body and legs more often to good effect, though Allen’s counter shots were definitely landing too.

It was a better round for Curtis, but both men were in the fight.

Allen started the third strong, mixing up his attack with knees and elbows. After a brief pause from an Allen eye poke, the two went back to trading. Curtis stung Allen with a heavy left hand that wobbled the knees, but Allen reacted smartly with a well-timed and badly needed takedown. Once again, he jumped the back mount, and this time, he was able to hold position until nearly the end of the round.

The striking was really competitive in the fourth. Curtis didn’t manage to stun Allen, but he did land the cleanest shots. At the same time, Allen found solid lands of his own, particularly with his kicks and elbows. Really, it was a pair of takedowns from Allen that shifted the momentum into his corner, though he wasn’t able to accomplish too much once on the floor.

The fifth and final frame started chaotically, as Curtis countered an Allen takedown with a clean knee. Allen walked through it and kept wrestling, but Curtis managed to scramble to his feet. Allen suddenly started looking very desperate to wrestle, and Curtis was able to shuck him off repeatedly. Both were exhausted with a couple minutes remaining. Allen finally managed another takedown with about a minute remaining, but Curtis reversed him with just 30 seconds left. Allen regained his feet and finished the round with a flying knee, stunning his foe in the final seconds.

In that final exchange, Curtis seemingly suffered some kind of knee injury. He wobbled to the middle of the cage, where Allen was named the victor via split-decision. It was a really competitive fight, but the right man had his hand raised.
