We did the Day Out With Thomas here. We took the 4:30pm train ride. It was about 25 minutes and each child was handed a certificate for riding. There was a bounce house, which was closed & another bouncey maze house with a slide for the children. There was a tent with toys, clothes & collectibles for purchase. I spent over $200 for tickets for 6 adults and 2 children & the pictures they take are all for additional cost. There's a huge hill to walk down. This definitely was not ideal for some of the adults in our group. Definitely a con for this location as I'm sure many families purchase tickets and extend the invite to grandparents as well

Did the Polar Express ride with my niece(2months), nephew (3yrs), parents, and grandparents. Worth every penny to see the excitement on my nephews face as Santa walks into our train car. Wonderful staff members and very accommodating! My family and I have been doing the Polar Express ride for the past 2 years and each year we look forward to doing it again.

Attended the Thomas the Train event here and also went on one of their mining train trips. Both times I was disappointed. When Thomas is in town the town is a little more alive but when we went on a random weekend for the mining train it was a ghost town. Don't plan to stay in the area to eat because there is nothing there. If walking is an issue for you skip this place. We needed to park at the top of a pretty steep hill and walk down to the train. For Thomas they do everything in July and the train has no a/c. The day we went it was so humid. We didn't even stay for the activities they had in the tents. I think they have a lot of potential but there needs to be a lot done.

Wow the reviews are kind of brutal I see but thankfully me and the family had a different experience. There were plenty of shuttles, everyone was friendly and we all got hot chocolate and a cookie. (And a sleigh bell with "2013" engraved in it which is a nice little memento for the kids.) Mother Nature ended up helping out with a snow storm that was just enough to make the train ride absolutely stunning and add to the "Christmas-ness" of our Polar Express ride. (And more than a few of the houses on the train route actually decorated the back of their houses which is what we saw as we were coming back at nightfall and that was a nice touch as well.) This was the first time my kids (just turned 5) actually had an encounter with Santa (minus having their picture with one when they were only a month old) so it was a big deal (even if they were first debating if he was the real Santa when he first walked past us) and I think it had a big impact on them. And like a lot of kid-related adventures - you look around and it's the parents that seem much more excited and into it than the kids. The major gripe for me (besides that if you sat at the window-seat it was just a touch too cold) was that it felt like a short story that was padded to make into a novel... there were some long gaps where nothing was happening and I could see my kids starting to waver and lose interest. But the fact that it wasn't all that expensive (an easy $100 less for a family of 4 than other outings we've done) and that everyone was a volunteer (a talented juggler, the first hobo with a guitar doing Christmas songs, a jolly St. Nick) makes me say: 4.5 stars. As long as nobody tips off my kids that there isn't a Santa Claus in the next 12 months - we'll definitely be back next year as well.

Disappointed, did not live up to expectations and NOT worth the $40. The train ride was 20 minutes, the train is old and the trip along the river was not narrated as advertised. We were transported to & from the train to the vineyard on an old yellow school bus which was most uncomfortable for an adult. The time at the vineyard was brief and rushed. We were not given a tour of the actual process as to how the wine is processed and aged. The tastings were little more than a shot glass pour and we were not given water to rinse out the glass between tastings. They did serve small bites to pair with the wine but they weren't very good. After a brief talk we were rushed to submit an order and quickly rushed back to the bus. The winery also tried to charge an additional $2 if you wanted to keep the souvenir wine glass which was advertised as included in the tour. It could have been so much more enjoyable if they provided additional amenities like music during the seating, not rush through the tasting & larger pours. Til then....if you are an oenophile, find another tour.

This is a diesel train ride. The steam train is being serviced and won't be back in service until a year from now. There's nothing on the website to let people know the steam train is out of service. It's very disappointing to drive all the way there only to find out the steam train is out of service!

FALSE ADVERTISING! A TERRIBLE DISAPPOINTMENT! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I seldom write reviews, however, I have just returned from the Great Pumpkin Train and felt obligated to warn others not to waste their time and money on such a disappointing experience. Where do I begin? The ride starts in Phillipsburg, NJ - a dismal ghost town whose main street is filled with empty, abandoned buildings. The only bathrooms available are 2 port-a-potties and the only store open is selling dusty, expired goods. Thankfully, I did pick up a couple of those expired goods - they were the only food items that we would see for the next 4 hours! The allocated parking for the train ride was in an empty lot a considerable distance away. On arriving at the ticket booth, all 600 passengers were made to stand in the same line, regardless of whether or not they had purchased their tickets in advance. This line was served by only 2 attendants. As a result, there was a considerable delay and our 12:30 pm train did not depart until about 1 pm. The promotional material for the train says "the traveler finds himself back in the 1890s......" and indicates that the train is run by steam when, in fact, the train we rode was a 1960s era diesel train which appeared to be in a filthy and unsafe condition. The "scenic ride" occurred along a trash- and graffiti-strewn train track, which passed along the back of a lumbar yard and a quarry. We had actually seen a lot more fall foliage along the highway on our drive in. No information or instructions were provided. We were dropped off at the corn maze/mining site and were not told when the next train would be back to pick us up. The corn maze/mine was nothing special and the only food available for sale was popcorn. Passengers - most of us with young children - were then made to wait 2 hours in a field swarming with gnats for the next train to pick us up! On the return trip, we stopped off for 10 minutes at the so-called "pumpkin patch" which was actually a tiny clearing at the side of the train track, with several small, pre-picked pumpkins on display. All in all, the experience was very disappointing and left me feeling angry for having been deceived out of my money!

I have been to other Polar Express Train Rides with my family and this was by far THE WORST EXPERIENCE. First of all, the parking is horrendous and we had to walk a 1/2 a mile to the location with a toddler (was not described in the advertisement obviously), but they tried to provide us with a Van/Bus with no provisions for the safety of the children who need toddler seats. Second, once we finally arrived, we went to the ticket booth which actually ran smoothly but there was unfortunately nothing to see there. Only option of restrooms were port-a-potties which were clearly not cleaned not was there lighting inside or near the toilets ( i don't know how the other families used this facility). There was a blow up Christmas tree with no lights, and really it was barely lit up. We walk down a very steep hill to get to the bottom of the hill and was quickly guided to wait in a pitch black area with the other passengers awaiting the train. Third, we finally got onto the train and we see that we have the nose-bleed seats, which are up above all the "action". We barely saw anything that was going on and got to see the top of santa's head, as well as the chefs who delivered hot chocolate and one cookie per child. Fourth, the "action" that I was talking about was very weak, and there was an audio of the polar express story going on as the kids and adults were getting nauseous from the heat and the motion of the train. There was no sing-alongs, nor a clear focus on what the staff were doing. They also had the balls to charge us for stuffed animals to buy, and we had to pay for our pictures to be taken on the train with Santa. Sadly, those weren't even all the low-lights but i figured you get the picture. I will never go here again and this was a big waste of money. I should have read these YELP reviews before i purchased the tickets because i would have never bought it. Lesson Learned.

We rode the train twice so far, once for the polar express and recently for the corn maze ride. Both times the experience was spectacular. We rode the polar express at night so we missed most of the scenery. But we rode the corn maze train during the day and the gentle rolling of the cars drawn by the stream locomotive is very calming. GPS directions were spot on and there was a sign pointing to the parking lot for the train ride. Picking up tickets at the will call was a breeze. We picked up a few slices at the nearby pizzeria and ate before we got on the train. This place is about 1:15 from my house so I always make sure I have plenty of time to get there, park, collect tickets and get on the train. Especially the polar express train, which pretty much gets sold out on the first day. The stream locomotive requires 2 hours of maintenance for every hour it runs! Imagine all the hard work volunteers put in to just keep the train running. The cars are also old and I don't think it would support air-conditioning. That would not be possible without compromising on the aesthetics of these vintage cars. The gift shop was reasonably priced (all sodas and water was $1!! How can you beat that). All the volunteers were very friendly and very much into trains. Overall, a great experience if you are into appreciating the hard life our forefathers had. If you want creature comforts, go on a nice day or skip the train altogether. :-)

Ok...firsr of all this was a nice little getaway. My husband took me for the wine tour at Villa Millagro, which small, but we like those types of things. The train is old, but that's the point the history lesson is the point. The volunteers are great. The parking sucks, we almost missed the train because we aren't from or anywhere near here the fact that its behind a back street and no sign we were driving in circles for 10 minutes. So please get a sign of some sort. I get how the money isn't there, if anyone travels and is on a schedule this would be bad to miss your scheduled departure. All in all great morning/afternoon. Btw the wine was good. I purchased the Delicado
