• 2. Tap The App Option Tap on the "View In App" button in your invite email, or tap the "App" button at the top of your itinerary.
• 3. Download The App Download the Trip Plans app. It's free on the App Store or Google Play Store.
• 4. View Your Itinerary After downloading the app your itinerary should automatically open.
• 5. Save Your Trip To Your Account Your trip is automatically saved to your phone the first time you load it without creating an account. You can create a free account on the Trip Plans app to chat with your travel advisor or view flight notifications.

Since it has launched, we added another game-changing layer to make it even better; the ability to communicate with your client . How does the Trip Plans app work?

The Trip Plans app is a completely unbranded app that your clients can download and view their itineraries on an iOS or Android device. What makes the Trip Plans app so unique is that clients can quickly view their itinerary offline or on the go. And now, Trip Plans users can send messages back and forth with their advisor discussing plans and asking questions–an easy and simple experience for both the advisor and client.

What does the new messaging feature look like?

Once a client has downloaded the Trip Plans app for their device and opened the itinerary, they will see a conversation bubble at the top and can tap on it to chat with the travel advisor.

When a client sends a message in the app, the travel advisor will be notified by email and can go into their Travefy Professional account and communicate right on the itinerary page.

Does anything change for my clients who’s already using the app?

For those who have already shared itineraries with clients via the Trip Plans app, you will need to “turn on” the messaging because you have the option to enable or disable messaging. To manage the preference, follow these simple steps .

For many people, planning a travel adventure from start to finish can be stressful and a lot of work. You have to book flights, hotels, dinners, sightseeing, and so much more, all while making sure you stick to your budget and time constraints! 

Many people turn to a travel agent for help to make it all a little less overwhelming. Where do travel agents go to help plan trips for their clients, you may ask? One destination they may go to is Travefy. We've previously reviewed TripIt, a similar itinerary building service. However, Travefy differs from TripIt because they're not exactly for all travelers.

What is Travefy?

Founded in 2012, Travefy is an itinerary building service specifically designed for travel agents, tour operators, and suppliers. Their services include:

• Itinerary management.
• An easy way to generate proposals and quotes for clients.
• Beautiful marketing features to show off trips. 

With a database of restaurants, hotels, points of interest, and more, their drag and drop feature makes it easy to personalize an itinerary for any client's needs. This feature makes Travefy great while keeping everything organized and easy to digest. 

Travefy also has City Guides which can be used by agents and clients alike to find points of interest in any city and to gain information about a specific destination.

How much does Travefy Pro cost? 

Travefy isn't a free service, but you can test it out using the free ten-day trial. After that time, using Travefy costs either $39 a month, or you can pay for a whole year, which lowers the price to $31 a month but will be $372 upfront. 

Using the app does come with a free mobile app for clients, though, so travel agents can easily communicate and share details! You can find a complete list of all the plan details and features  here ! 

Due to the cost associated with Travefy, we wouldn't see as much value for travel agents who are just starting out. This is because there's no guarantee of clients with whom this service would help. The cost is also one of the reasons why Travefy isn't designed for any traveler wanting to plan an itinerary.  

Travefy's app for clients

One of the best features of Travefy is the free app for clients. It's an unbranded "Trip Plans" mobile app, available on iOS and Android, allowing travel agents to share all the fun details of an itinerary with their clients. It will enable clients to access that information online and offline during their travels. The app also serves as a quick and efficient way for clients to contact their agents. Clients can approve proposals through the app, which will, in turn, generate their itinerary. 

In addition to the app, Travefy also allows agents to send itineraries and travel details via pdf. 

Travefy Academy

Thinking of going into the travel agent industry or wanting to learn more about relevant information for travel agents?  Travefy Academy  is the perfect place to start. You'll find blog posts, podcasts, webinars, and more, all with opportunities for you to learn more about what it takes to be a travel agent and how you can best serve your clients. The best part? Every resource in Travefy Academy is free. You don't need to have purchased a plan with Travefy to access those resources!

Travefy vs. Tripit:  What's the difference?

While Travefy is an excellent app for travel agents, it isn't the only itinerary planning app out there. One common comparison made is with  Tripit . The most significant difference between the two is that Travefy is exclusively for travel agents. 

At the same time, Tripit can be used by anyone. They're both beneficial at showing your itinerary, and providing you detailed information about your trip, every step of the way. 

With Tripit, however, you're inputting your itinerary yourself and compiling it all in one place. Travefy will show you an itinerary put together by your travel agent. Tripit does have a free version, which Travefy doesn't (beyond the ten-day trial). Still, it doesn't allow you to find things to do in your destination or really include those in your itinerary. You have to do all that research yourself and input it into Tripit.

What are the reviews saying about Travefy?

There aren't many reviews of Travefy out there on typical review boards, as it's generally a service for travel agents rather than travelers themselves. That being said, it has received 4.9/5 stars on  reviews.io  out of 138 reviews and holds 4.4/5 stars out of 58 reviews on Facebook. Amongst travel professionals, it ranks very highly, and travel agents are very complimentary of Travefy online.

Is Travefy worth it?

Overall, we'd say that Travefy has great features that would be worth it for travel agents, tour operators, and other travel management firms that can afford to pay premium for its services. With a mobile app included in their service, you can easily access itinerary building resources, guides, and databases as resources for your travel planning. However, with no free version after the 10-day free trial, we'd say that it's not worth it to most travelers, even if they're a detailed planner.

7 Useful Apps Every Traveler Should Know About

Technology continues to make travel easier for millions of people around the globe. New apps offer travelers fresh ways to research a destination, connect with fellow globetrotters, communicate with locals, and track their flights. As a full-time digital nomad , I’ve learned the importance of having the right tools at your disposal when on the road.

Over the past few years, I’ve visited dozens of countries, flown hundreds of thousands of miles, and tested countless apps to find the ones that prove to be the most helpful. And while tools like Meetup, Google Maps, Google Translate, currency converters, and vacation rental , airline, and hotel–specific apps are in fact indispensable on most trips, I find that many of the best travel apps are still undiscovered by my fellow travelers.

Below, seven travel apps that make life on the go markedly easier (and more fun), from real-time flight trackers to photo-sharing gems—all of these apps are free, but some have paid pro versions worth considering. Don’t think these apps are only for full-time travelers—they prove useful for every type of traveler, whether you're in a brand-new destination or back for a return visit.

My favorite app on this list is Flighty, a must-have for any frequent flier . The free version is fantastic, but I recommend splurging for the premium version, which gives you even more useful information and comes at a reasonable cost of $48 per year. The functionality it provides more than justifies the price.

The free version allows you to input all future flights plus past journeys you've taken within the last year. It provides updated information if any schedule changes occur to upcoming flights and allows you to track all the miles you’ve flown in one place.

The other main benefit is that it allows you to share your flight information with friends and family members who are also on Flighty. They will receive real-time updates about your flight without you having to text them. My parents love to make sure I’m safe so they appreciate getting detailed information about my travels—even while I’m in the air.

Flightradar24 is a favorite app among fellow aviation geeks. It lets you track almost any aircraft you see in the air throughout the day or night. You can track your own flight, a friend's flight, or any plane you see in real-time. It shares plenty of cool data, like the altitude, speed, arrival and departure airports and times, and tail number.

There are tons of eSIM apps on the market, but Airalo is probably my favorite, with digital SIM cards available for dozens of countries. I find it to be the most reliable and offers the best data packages. It can be a little pricey, but it is the best option if you’re only taking short trips. Holafly is another eSIM app that offers unlimited data and works well, but I find the app to be much more glitchy than Airalo and would recommend using the desktop version.

This one is for the planner of the group. Wanderlog merges the best of a bunch of different apps into one. Imagine an app that lets you plan a trip with ease: collaborate with friends as if you’re on Google Docs, manage expense tracking like Splitwise, and have a central place for your reservations, checklists, and more. Tripit is a similar travel planner app, so you can download both and get a feel for which interface you like better.

Been allows you to track the countries you’ve visited and make a wish list of places you can’t wait to cross off your travel bucket list . It gives you information like the percentage of the globe you’ve been to and shows you a world map of your trips. It’s always fun to add in a new country whenever I reach my destination.

This app was introduced to me by fellow nomads I met at a cafe in Montevideo, Uruguay . It automatically tracks your route across the world, allowing you to quickly upload pictures throughout your travels that can be viewed by anyone who has access to your profile. It’s an excellent way to share important moments with loved ones without needing to send photos to each person individually. Users can also create easily accessible guides filled with up-to-date information to help you plan your own trip.

Steller is another app that a friend recently introduced me to, and I’ve quickly fallen in love with it. It uses a combination of AI and user experiences to help you plan trips around the globe. From recommendations of things to see, like the Recoleta Cemetery in Buenos Aires or the Royal Palace of Naples, to full guidebooks created by users, you can get inspired, book experiences, and discover hidden gems within this app.
