Rules and Restrictions for entering in the Rajgir Zoo Safari

To protect the animals and guests, the regulations for the zoo safari trip are considerably strict and more regulated. For example, during a safari, guests are not permitted to leave the vehicle or descend to the bus in order to quiet the animals where they are and to safeguard guests from wild creatures.

The zoo strictly takes action on the use of any kind of drugs, pharmaceuticals, alcohol, cigarettes, or other intoxicating substances.

Additionally, items like matches, sharp tools like knives or cutters, light, or any other combustible products are not permitted because they can damage the animal or otherwise provoke it.

When taking a safari ride in the zoo, neither adults nor kids should use noise-making equipment or make loud noises.

At the zoo, it is forbidden to throw trash, snack wrappers, or food items.

All visitor belongings, including a woman's purse, electronics, and photographs, are prohibited inside the zoo. They have to be put in the office. If not, an animal cruelty punishment may be imposed.

At a distance of 4 km from Rajgir Railway Station, the Rajgir Zoo Safari or Rajgir Wildlife Safari is a safari park located in Rajgir, Bihar, India. Situated next to Maniyar Math, it is one of the must-visit places for wildlife enthusiasts as part of Rajgir tour packages. Located between the Vaibhgiri and Songiri mountains, Rajgir Wildlife Safari is adjacent to the Pant Wildlife Sanctuary at the foothills of the Jethian hill. The foundation stone was laid in 2017 by the Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar and was opened to the public on 20th February 2022 with 1,000 daily visitor capacity. The zoo safari has been developed by the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change at a cost of nearly 177 crore Indian rupees. Spread over 472 acres, the Rajgir Wildlife Safari has been divided into five broad zones one each for lion, tiger, leopard, bear, and herbivores. There is an aviary zone, a butterfly park, an interpretation center, an orientation gallery, an amphitheater, and a management section in the park. At the zoo safari, there are two tigers, eight lions, two leopards, and nearly 200 other animals. The animals at Rajgir Zoo Safari are not in cages but can roam free over a forest area. Visitors are allowed to watch animals from a secured environment-friendly vehicle. Each closed glass bus can accommodate 22 tourists. One can book the tickets for Rajgir Wildlife Safari online from the website- rajgirzoosafari.in. Only about 25 percent of the tickets will be booked from the online website. Rajgir Zoo Safari is a zoo and wildlife sanctuary located in Rajgir, Bihar, India. It is spread over an area of 1000 acres.

Rajgir zoo safari opens for public, Nitish says one of its kind in eastern India

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday inaugurated the zoo safari at Rajgir in Nalanda district and said it was one of its kind in the eastern part of the country.

“The facility will definitely draw attention of people and will increase the flow of tourists to Rajgir,” he said.

“The place is already dotted with heritage sites and spots related to various religions like Buddhism, Islam, Jainism, Hinduism and Sikhism. People feel a different kind of peace and solace here. Wildlife attractions will only make the place far more attractive for nature lovers,” he said.

“A nature Safari was developed here and opened for tourists in 2021. Now Rajgir has a zoo safari also, “ he said.

The zoo safari has been developed by the department of forest, environment and climate change at a cost of nearly ₹ 177 crore. It’s spread over 191.12 hectares and has five zones to accommodate over 250 herbivores and carnivores. There’s also an aviary, a butterfly park, an interpretation centre, orientation gallery and amphitheatre and a management section.

At the zoo safari, there are two tigers, eight lions, two leopards, and nearly 200 other animals.

Gopal Singh, officer on special duty at CM secretariat, said tourists would be taken inside the jungle in 26-seater closed glass buses. “To keep a watch on the entire forest area, watch towers have been developed and 33 close circuit television cameras installed,” he said.

The decided time of opening and closing is 9 AM to 6 PM.  However, one must enter the nature park before 2 PM.

How to book tickets online for Rajgir Glass Bridge Visit? (UPDATED March 2024)

Steps to be followed for booking Rajgir Glass Bridge tickets online:

• Step 1: Navigate the official site of Rajgir Nature Safari which is www.naturesafarirajgir.in or directly Click Here .

Enter the following information in the form: Full Name, Email ID, Aadhar / PAN Card / Voter ID / Passport. Next, provide captcha code.

• Step 2: Now, enter the number of person above six years, provide the number of children aged 2 to 6 years and number of infants. Click on next.

Children under six years old are not permitted on the Glass Skywalk and for them, no individual tickets will be issued for the Glass bridge. Additionally, children under the age of 2 years do not require their own entry ticket.

• Step 3: Choose the type of ticket – Entry Ticket / Glass Bridge Ticket and the visiting Date.

In the next page, enter the required information like name, email id, address, pincode, Adult & Child Number, ID Type (Aadhar Card, Driver License, Voter ID, Passport). Then, click on “ Next “.

• Step 4: Now pay for the ticket through credit card, debit card, or net banking.

• Step 5: Once the payment is done e-ticket will generate. It can also be sent in the registered mobile number.
